Hi,

Awesome theme!

Before I purchase, I was wondering if this theme would play nicely with WooCommerce (I appreciate it isn’t made for eCommerce, but I require minimal eCommerce functionality).

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike!

I’ve done some very basic tests with Woocommerce and there doesn’t appear to be any issues. However, I haven’t completely tested this with the theme so I can’t give you an iron-clad guarantee. However, it should work with the theme. You may need to add your own styling to get it to match the theme as well.

Andre

If I paid you, would you add an 1140px setting for screen only to your base css for me? I’d like to go wider than 960px. I’m sure it’ll require some other tweaks as well but I’ll pay you for it if you can make the time. Can we talk about it offline?

Hi Greatnorwegian,

Thanks so much for your interest. I’m afraid I’m not taking on any projects at this time.

My apologies again, and I wish you the best of luck in the future,

Andre

Awesome job on theme, I really like the flexibility and ease factor of the theme.

I do have one question in hopes of getting pointed in the right direction. On the portfolio page, by default the images span across 3 columns, can this easily be changed to 5 or 6 columns? And if so, is there a specific file or files to make the change?

Thanks!

Hi, Great theme especially the sections feature

2winFactor

Hi Leon,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

The background images of sections will (responsively) fit to either the width or height of the section. Any other way and you’ll experience unwanted behavior. For instance, if you let the image fit only to the width, you may end up with a section that’s too tall or too short for the content inside. Either your content will get cut off, or your image will take up an enormous amount of space.

Just think of the background images as “wallpaper”. If you want an image to be displayed in full, you’d need to use the slider or featured image of a section to accomplish that. Does that make sense?

Hi Andre, thanks for that, I suppose it is not an issue so have I not opened a forum question, more of an expectation on usability really. My suggestion is why not have one section for text and and another separate section for images, with two sections in the theme, images can be dealt with to be responsive, without affect text.

I have to say the sections are a great addition and makes editing easier when the info is in convenient identifiable blocks for targeting.

Sections also make sense when delivering compelling messages through pages that are going towards scrolling – which also reflects mobile usage behaviour – and being able to change the order they are positioned on a page is great.

However the problem currently with the sections is that the image in the current theme keeps the height and not the width so my graphic message is rendered ineffective as it will be hidden when the screen size reduces.

I can of course set an image in wordpress on a custom page to fill the screen and be responsive that way by setting 100% height and wide and that works perfect, however there is still the issue of section order having to be below this all the time and again image based sections won’t be responsive, for height and width.

My input is that it would make a whole lot of sense to have an additional section just for images/graphics/jpgs/pngs that are full screen width and fully responsive.

2winFactor

Hi Leon1000,

Thanks for the suggestions. The only way to make sure that the images don’t crop at screen sizes is to make them non-background images. However, you can adjust the background image position if you want. For example, if on mobile sizes, you want to control it a bit, you could add something like this:

@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
.section-117 {
background-position: 100% 0 !important;
}
}

This would position your image so the right side of the image lines up with the right side of the screen. You could also try the opposite:

@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
.section-117 {
background-position: 0% 100% !important;
}
}

If you want to show the left side of the image. “117” is the ID of your section, so you can control each section individually. You can also play around with the percentages until you find a position for your background image. Try using height in combination with this to show more of the image:

@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
.section-117 {
background-position: 0% 100% !important;
height:500px !important;
}
}

Amazing theme! I have a question about the license. I am considering using it for a Wordpress multi-site installation I have. Which licensing option would that fit? (I don’t plan on selling it to people, but I would be using it on more than one site.)

2winFactor

Hi KevanLee,

Great question! Both licenses allow for use on a “single application”. believe a single application means a single domain. I think if you want to have it on several sites you need to purchase a regular license for each one.

For more info, check out the “single application” section of the FAQ:

Hello I was wondering if the Portfolio can have pages instead of posts, or can I create posts that have the same layout and functionality as pages (I’m guessing this is custom work on my side).

Cheers

2winFactor

Hi Jhamel,

You may be able to do that, but it would involve some customizations to the theme. You’d basically just need to change the loop in the portfolio template to get the pages instead of the portfolio items. That should be it if you’re not looking to add any more functionality to the pages. I’d be happy to help you make the modification, but you’d need to edit some theme code.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Andre

Hello considering purchasing this them, but I was wondering if it’s possible to make the menu bar at the top stick to the top as you scroll down for example how this theme functions: http://www.kriesi.at/themes/enfold/

If not would it be difficult to accomplish this? Thanks!

2winFactor

Hi Milleronrails,

The theme doesn’t do this by default. You’d need to make some modifications to get that to work. I’d be happy to point you in the right direction, however, this type of alteration would go beyond the scope of support for the theme.

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Andre

Yes if you could point me in the right direction that would be great thanks.

Awesome Job! Absolutely love the theme, and everything that it has to offer.

Absolutely the easiest theme that I have EVER set up (and I do this for a living)

Best documentation, and backend of any Wordpress theme. Really in awe of how quick setup went.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

What breadcrumb options are there in the theme?

2winFactor

Hi Gamemaster,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

There are no breadcrumbs included with the theme – you’d need to use a plugin to extend that functionality.

Theme is fantastic Andre. I am wondering what grid system you are using. The code looks like Foundation by Zurb?

2winFactor

Hi Webcoursesbangkok,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

It’s actually based off the skeleton grid framework: getskeleton.com. I find it less bloated than Zurb.

Hi,

Love the theme! Quick question before I purchase. Is there an option to include recent blog posts in the footer? If so, is there a way to see how this would be styled?

Thank you!

2winFactor

Hi Stephen,

I’m glad you like it! I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Yes, you can include recent blog posts in your footer. There’s actually a couple of different ways you can do this. First is that custom latest news widget which can be seen on the sidebar of this page:

Shortcodes

With this widget, you can display as many posts as you like, from all categories or a specific category.

You can also display a “recent” and “popular” news widget which has tabs for each. You can see that on this page:

The Blog

This you can also limit the number of posts that show up here. Of course, the colors change to match the footer (the text is lighter against the dark background, etc.).

Let me know if you have any additional questions,

Andre

Hi Andre, Awesome, thank you so much for the information and for the quick reply!

My pleasure! :)

Hello Andre, I have a pre-purchase question. Is that possible to have only one static image with a call to action button in the slider (i.e. only one slide without the arrows on both sides)? Cheers.

2winFactor

Hi Jloe89,

Yep! Just create only one slide and the arrows won’t appear.

Let me know if you have any other questions, or need further clarification!

A very nice template! :)

But please advice how I can keep it up to date. How do I upgrade it? I can see you have new features that we don’t have, e.g. this one: http://imm.io/15rlY
2winFactor

Hi enhanza,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

First, be sure you’ve made no changes to the theme files as they will be overwritten if you update. If you have, be sure to back them up or transfter them to a child theme. To update the Theme:

  1. Login to your Themeforest account, head over to your downloads section and re-download the theme
  2. Make sure you’ve backed up your data via Tools > Export
  3. Switch Back to the default Theme (Twenty Twelve) momentarily
  4. Delete your current version of District. (this is why it’s important to backup any changes you’ve made to the theme files)
  5. Install the Theme Via your Wordpress Dashboard. How to Install your Theme Video

Hi, i’m trying to add the multilingual languages selector in the menu, but does work. Any suggestions?

My site is: www.franciscobarboza.com

Thanks

PS: Im ussing WPML

2winFactor

Hi Franbarboza,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

You’re looking to add the language switcher to the WordPress menu? Be sure you have the latest version of WPML. Then, go to “WPML > Languages > Language switcher options” - there choose option “Display the language switcher in the WP Menu” - in the little dropdown next to it, choose menu “Top Menu” or whatever you have named your menu.

Hi Mike,

I’m considering buying your theme. Would it be possible to fill the sections with another gallery, say the Royalslider WP plugin using their system of shortcodes?

Thanks for your answer.

Sorry, I don’t get an email when a new reply is posted; I think these are the lines I’ve added;

div.section.custom.section-189 div.container { width: 100%; }

div.section.custom.section-189 div.container div.sixteen.columns.content { width: 100%; margin: 0px; }

2winFactor

Thanks! That should help a lot!

Hi,

Loving the theme!

A couple of questions: I’m trying to add some content on the portfolio page, above the portfolio items. For some reason calling the content in php is not working so is there a way to fix that or a way of deciding where the sections go? Right now they just go under the portfolio items.

Here’s a link: http://secure.webcoursesagency.com/netforce/features/

Also, I’d love to be able to have two different portfolio pages but in that case I’d have to be able to decide what items go where. Can that be done?

Thanks!

2winFactor

Hi WebCoursesBangkok,

Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!

You can change the location of the sections on those pages by opening single-portfolio.php and finding this:

<?php
/* Get Any Sections
================================================== */
echo get_template_part('functions/templates/sections'); ?>

Just add cut and paste it right before this:

<!-- Page Content Area -->
<div class="pagecontent" echo="" .="" :="">>

To change it on each page, you'd need to perhaps add another custom field to customfields.php and add an if-statement to those pages to have it display in different parts.

Andre

Hi Andre,

Quite like your theme, I’m curious if there’s an option to have social icons near the menu?

Thanks,

2winFactor

Hi Chris,

Not out of the box, but you could always add something like that if you want. Where near the menu were you thinking?

Andre

Default-user

Top right, just as some simple icons.

2winFactor

Hi Chris,

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to just add another widget area to the top right of the theme. It’s not too hard to do, you’d need to copy and paste some code in the correct spots in 2 of the template files. Then you’d just use a text widget and add your icons and links there.

Andre
