Support forums are always great, thanks for letting me know Andre.
My pleasure! Always glad to help!
Andre
Nice theme. Say, how difficult would it be for me to adjust the default width of the layout to something wider (like 1000px or 1140px)?
Hi Greatworwegian,
I’m glad you like it! The theme is based off the skeleton responsive framework:
http://www.getskeleton.com/The default width is 960px width for the desktop. It may be a little complicated to make it wider than 960px – you may need to add another media query with some additional css to change the layout. That type of alteration would go beyond the scope of support for the theme. You’d need to seek the help of a developer for an alteration such as that.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Andre
Great looking theme! Good luck
Thanks louiejie! Glad you like it!
Andre
Hi! I’m taking a look at the live preview of your theme “District”. To be honest, I love it but before purchasing it I need to be sure about something.
The layout I need for the Homepage needs, mainly 3 things:
- A slider (which it has, so it’s ok!) - A list of latest posts on blog - A sticky list of 6 contents.
Is it possible to be done with this template?
Hi Eleduel,
Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be glad to answer any questions you may have.
There isn’t a way to show the latest posts from the blog on the homepage, I may be adding a shortcode for this in an update. For your third question, what do you mean by “sticky list of 6 contents”? Could you please explain that a little more? Thanks!
Andre
Hi! Thx for your time Andre!
Yes. I’ll be working on a website for a school. They want me to leave on the home page, 6 featured and static sections showing the different levels the school has (primary, secundary, etc).
Hi Eleduel,
Do you you mean “posts”? I’m not really sure what you mean by “featured and static sections”. You can add content for each of the different school levels, but there’s no feature to show the latest blog posts from each school level on the homepage. Is that what you’re asking?
Thanks! Andre
Oh, sorry. By static, I mean something that would stay on the homepage forever. By featured I mean that this 6 “boxes” with the 6 levels this school has, would stay under the main slider on the home page. Sorry if I can’t make myself clear.
Anyway, the only question I got now is if I can leave a post on the Home page without being removed!
I apologize for any misunderstanding, my english is not that good!
Hi Eleduel,
No worries! You could do 6 boxes under the slider on the homepage. You’d just need to use the 1/6th column shortcodes:
http://themewich.com/district/?page_id=374
In your homepage content area to get that layout. You can insert any content you want in each 1/6 column, like an image for each level.
Does that answer your question? Let me know if you have any others.
Thanks! Andre
It answers my question perfectly, ok! Thanks!
Hi once again! I want this template so much, today I got to make the decision, but the main problem I find is, as I told you before, that I need the latest posts of the blog on the Home Page.
Isn’t there any way to solve that? I know someone who can handle html pretty well, maybe he can help me, but is it possible to make this sort of changes?
Hi Eleduel,
I’m working on a shortcode to add some latest posts anywhere in your site. Hopefully should be updated by early next week. Otherwise, you you’d need to make a modification to the homepage to get the latest posts. I’m working on getting this feature out as fast as possible, however, I want to make sure it’s tested well before I release it in the theme.
Andre
Oh! Great to know! Ok, thank you for your time!
Ok let’s see how it works!
This is one of a handful of themes that brings true versatility, great visuals, and doesn’t look like everything else on the market. Thank you for that! Question: when it says HTML files are included, are we talking the full example site in HTML, such as one would get when purchasing a site template? I’ll pay $40 gladly just for the design, just need to make sure it’s all there.
Thanks again!
Hi Professant,
I’m glad you like it! Unfortunately, there is no “HTML Only” version of the theme. Just the WordPress version. I can see why that would be confusing. I’ve changed the files included list.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Andre
^^ what professant said – is this available in pure html rather than wordpress? If not – I might be able to port it – but I’d like to know.
Also – any chance of adding a pricing table?
Hi Theshiftexchange,
Unfortunately, there is no “HTML Only” version of the theme. Just the WordPress version – you’d need to port something like that over. I can see why that would be confusing. I’ve changed the files included list.
Pricing tables may come in an early update as well. Still figuring out some early feature additions!
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Andre
Hi Theshiftexchange,
Pricing table was added in the most recent update (1.2)!
Cheers,
Andre
Good job, Good luck with sales
Thanks tagDiv! I really appreciate it!
Andre
Great theme! includes xml file? thanks
Hi Juan!
Yes, of course! Both xml and sql files are included with the theme to help load up dummy content.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Andre
As always a brilliant theme, with awesome features and top notch support, cant say enough good things about Andre and his team at 2winFactor – Rich
Thanks Rich
I appreciate it, dude!
Andre
Welcome buddy, sent you an email re frameworks hope you have time to reply – could do with your import – cheers
Good to know. I haven’t gotten to check email stuff yet – I’ll be sure to take a look.
Thanks, Andre
Love this theme! Before I purchase, just want to check if it has the capabilities to embed the following plugin, as I need a quote form to show on each page – front page below the slider most importantly.
Plugin is – http://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-ajax-contact-form-with-attachments/3463740?ref=takeaction
Thanks
Hi TheStealthyFox,
Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have!
I haven’t tested that specific plugin with the theme, so I can’t give you an iron-clad guarantee. However, the theme is coded with best WordPress standards (registering javascript/css, no-conflict jQuery, etc.) to minimize the possibility of a plugin conflict. I should be easy to add right below the slider on the homepage via the shortcode (that’s where the homepage content area is).
Let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to help.
Andre
As promised bought
Really appreciate it Rich!
Welcome matey
already installed http://www.richpearsonscribblings.me any chance of the demo images so I can see what I’m looking temporarily?
Nice! That was quick! Unfortunately, I can’t share most of the demo images used in the theme due to licensing restrictions. :/ I did provide credits to most of them with links so you can see where I got them. A lot of them need attribution to be used.
I did use a few codecanyon and photodune items too:
http://themeforest.net/item/black-pad-tablet-app-ui-mockup/3374437 http://themeforest.net/item/mobile-app-white-phone-mockup/3285641 http://themeforest.net/item/sailing/2620721 http://themeforest.net/item/pasta/1535205 http://themeforest.net/item/business-people-standing-with-hands-folded/192106Andre
Yup lol like I said I am really getting on a long way with WP now, just need to finish the next step my own theme
ok maybe you could email me the XML from your demo then i’ll remove the copyrighted images and put some of my own in??
Hi Rich,
I could email you the xml from the demo, but it’s the exact same as the xml included with the theme. The only difference being the image links. So if you put some of your own images in anyway, it should be the exact same process with either xml file. Make sense? If you still want me to send it over, just let me know.
Andre
please if you wouldn’t mind, if I import it though will it double up with everything thats already in there, eg 2 menus etc as I have used the SQL file to get my demo working?
I believe the xml file just adds to what you already have, it doesn’t overwrite anything. If you want to start from scratch again, I believe you have to delete everything. I’ll send you the demo xml shortly.
Andre
In that case your SQL file would be better please… i will leave you alone then sorry
Hi – Is it possible to rename “portfolio” to something else? Not only in the menu, but the url of the projects?
Thanks!
Hi Willoughby,
Yep! You can change that slug in functions.php. Just change one line or code, super easy and I’d be happy to talk you through it.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Andre
Thank you. Just purchased:-)

Fantastic looking theme, great work. Have posted on the forum if you could take a look for me that would be amazing!
AGAIN GREAT WORK
Hi Dancurtis,
Just responded. Thanks!
Andre
Thanks, you have email
Nice Work! A few questions. Is it possible to have a slider on front page for portfolio items and recent blog, in addition to main slider? Does the theme include any type of page builder? Thx
Hi Brians_s,
There’s no page-builder included or latest blog posts section in the homepage of the theme. I’m working on an update to add latest posts to the homepage currently.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Andre
Wow, this looks AWESOME!! just curious, how are pages ‘built’ I noticed it says ‘drag and drop’ LUV THAT but not sure how? Is it pretty straightforward to start with demo version and how to edit it? THNKS -SW
Hi SterlingWilliam,
So glad you like it! Page sections are sort of like “posts”, but you can drag and drop the order of them on your page, include only the ones you like, etc. Here’s how it works.
First, you create a “page section”: http://themeforest.net/theme_previews/4058457-district-responsive-multipurpose-theme?index=6
Then on your page, you add the section that you created (scroll down to page sections): https://www.diigo.com/item/image/3o7z2/gr8y?size=o
Does that make sense or do you need additional information? Let me know, I’m always happy to help!
Andre
Wow NICE! Talk about having TOTAL freedom so every single page is completely customizable (and looks great on iphone/mobile view.. nice job on smooth drop down menu also, not the ‘pop out bar’ so many themes have)!! I will put down as my next theme to buy THNKS
Great! Yes, I’m not a fan of the ‘pop out bar’. My biggest issue with that type of mobile navigation is that it relies on javascript to function. Both dropdown menus you see in the theme work without javascript, so you don’t have to worry about javascript bugs in older mobile browsers.
Andre
Hi! Is it possible to embed a link into the Team member descriptions if, for example, I wanted the CEO’s description to include a link to her own page? Or would the shortcode prevent that?
Hi Cityd21,
The team member page is created with the column shortcodes, images and text. You can place whatever you want in the column shortcodes, so you can have an image followed by a description with links in each one.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Andre
That’s great, thank you so much!
