Domena - Domain For Sale Template

Do you have a non-wordpress version of this for easier/quicker installation?

reidknorr

Yes – a Wordpress and an HTML version are included as part of Domena, so you can set Domena up without Wordpress if you prefer.

Hi. I’m receiving an error message when i try to authorize my google account.

“Error: Could not get a session token – please make sure your server has CURL installed or try again later.”

CURL is active, and I'm running PHP 5.4 & WP3.4.1 - I added and authorized my domain name through Google accounts.

Any ideas? Thank you.

hey reidknorr,

thx for this great theme and solution. Everything important is adjustible.

With small logical struktures without coding into the theme its possible to use piwik stats and the blogsection outside of frontpage to use autopost with rss feeds.

Thanks for this kind thing, it gave us the kickstart to promote our unused project domainnames to get them ranked and tracked by searchengines.

Cheers and best regards Dennis

p.s. for all other folks – don’t think about a seperate software for domainpresenting or selling. This theme and some external plugins will do the job! (not for mass domainsellers, its a little bit of work to get all the stuff into the right position although with cloning the multisites)

reidknorr

Thank you for the kind words! We are glad to hear that you like the theme! :)

I would be interested in the Domena theme, but I would like to know if the Google API has been fixed. Also, I want to build a site with a homepage devoted to our company (that owns many domain names). The interior “pages” would represent the individual domain names that we are selling. Is each domain-name page in the Domena theme a post? How is the non-WordPress version implemented? Does it populate the domain-name pages from a database? Thanks.

An updated version of Domena (1.2) is currently being tested and awaiting approval from ThemeForest, which will fix the Google API issues. Domena 1.2 will be a free update to all those that have purchased.

For multiple domains, you will want to consider Wordpress multi-site. Each install of Domena works for a single domain.

The non-Wordpress does not pull from a database – it is a static page that can be edited/customized (in HTML ) to advertise the domain. It takes some knowledge of HTML /CSS, but allows for the most flexibility.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Reid, I purchased the theme but have been having several problems – the documentation doesn’t describe these things very much:

1) I created a WordPress install with network and mu-domains plug in … it’s not clear how you’re supposed to configure the site to resemble your examples e.g. flight tracker. See my example http://popcloud.com ...

a) Should the site look like your flight tracker/example pages from the start or does every element have to be configured by hand?

b) Am I supposed to create a static page as the home landing page for domena? Or, is it set up properly by default?

c) Footer text and page layout css are empty in my install. Is this correct?

d) Why are my Contact and Pricing buttons not floating properly? Is this something I did wrong? ... I would have thought that these get installed properly by default with your plugin.

2) Your HTML version is very incomplete unlike other themeforest bundles. It doesn’t actually include the styles for most things on your demo page. Do you have a version of the HTML template and stylesheet that resemble the Flight Tracker demo page for example? The things missing from the HTML template are the Google API widget, the three widgetized footer elements (About, Related Domains and Stay Connected) ... and the final footer.

It’s a nice looking theme – but I could use help configuring these things and better documentation – as well as a fuller HTML template. ... especially for $30 purchase price.

Reid,

Here is an example of what I see when I create a new site with Domena template and add a few selling points: see http://otso.likeshelf.com as an example.

There is a lot of configuration that seems to have to be done manually to make it look like your example. Is this correct?

What are the steps to make it look like your simple example? e.g. Flight Tracker?

In other words, what’s the easiest set of steps through the WordPress admin to:

a) Create the This Domain is For Sale text / Buy Now / Make an offer buttons?

b) Create the three column widgetized footer? with the widgetized list of related domains including bullets

Do you need to set up a static landing page? etc.

Thanks! Jeff

reidknorr

Hey Jeff,

Thank you for your purchase. I have read both of your comments in depth and you mention that the documentation doesn’t cover some items, but were you able to locate and read the main documentation file in the “Documentation” folder of Domena? We have included a very comprehensive documentation file that covers many of these items. I look forward to hearing from you.

Is the Google API working properly? I have about 300 domain names to sell. I really like the graphs…

We have a fix ready, which is currently in testing and will be available by tomorrow as soon as ThemeForest has approved the update. I will let you know when it is available.

Thanks for the interest in Domena!

Reid,

Thanks for the reply. I did review the documentation prior to posting my questions. I wish it was clearer describing the steps to create examples like you have on your live preview.

Here are some remaining questions I have – see http://uwlink.com as an example:

1) How do I control the very bottom footer? http://screencast.com/t/ZY0drOjmg ... when I titled the home page “This domain is for sale” – that starts to clutter/appear in the footer.

2) Do you have a more complete version of the HTML template with all the proper styles to mimic your live preview page?

Thanks, Jeff

reidknorr

Hey Jeff -

We have an update to Domena that is currently being tested and is awaiting ThemeForest’s approval. It addresses some of the issues you have brought to our attention.

1) You can customize what shows up in the very bottom footer in Appearance > Menus (in the Wordpress admin):

  • On the menus page, create a new menu
  • Now, under “Theme Locations”, select “Footer” (or whatever you named your menu) and click “Save”.
  • Now you can customize which pages show up in your footer menu. Select the pages you want and click “Add To Menu”.

2) Domena 1.2 (the new version currently awaiting approval) will have an updated HTML template that looks like the live preview page. The Google Analytics integration will not work since it requires PHP (Wordpress), but the HTML template looks exactly like the live preview with the “mega” footer.

Domena 1.2 is a free upgrade for those that have purchased.

Thanks Reid – this is working well. Thanks for the great communication.

I would still like to see documentation added for your recommended approach to adding footer widgets … e.g. custom html widgets with your css bullet list for related domains, or is there an easier way?

I think the theme would be improved if you configured those three example footer widgets on install for new sites: e.g. About widget, Related Domains widget, Twitter feed widget.

Great work overall though! Thanks!

Has anyone successfully integrated Google Analytics? I’ve just downloaded the updated Domena 1.2 versions and I’m still having the same problems. Is there a shortcode for adding GA to my post/page? I’ve had to add a static version until this is fixed or someone helps me get this working. Thanks….

Figured out my problem…in Settings (General), Wordpress URL , Site URL and AuthSub URL have to be identical. If using www.domain.com all have to use the www. My WP url was just “domain.com.”

Hi, can you get the URL using php and put it everywhere instead of YourDomain.com? I mean have YourDomain.com appear using php depending what domain name you use to reach one single wordpress installation.

I want to use something like <?php echo $_SERVER[‘PHP_SELF’] ?>. I don’t mind not using the stats. Thanks

reidknorr

Yes – if you do not use the stats, that is possible. You could modify Domena to display <?php echo $_SERVER[‘SERVER_NAME’] ?>, which would display the domain of the current URL /address.

You would park multiple domains on your 1 Wordpress installation.

Hi

Just about to purchase but I’ve one quite important question.

Does this theme integrate with PayPal – i.e., if I have a domain on the site for sale at £195 and a visitor click the purchase button, they’ll be taken through to PayPal with the price and domain purchase details in place?

Thanks

Keith

reidknorr

Domena does not have PayPal integration built-in, however, accomplishing what you want is definitely possible – it will require a PayPal plugin (that will work together with Domena).

Here are some plugins that could help you accomplish what you’re looking for: http://wpmu.org/8-wordpress-paypal-plugins-for-receiving-payments-and-donations/

ive got about 100 domains… can i point them to this one wordpress application or do they need to have their own installation for each?

cheers

reidknorr

There are a couple ways to handle this:

1) You could use Wordpress Multisite to setup each domain on 1 installation of Wordpress

2) You could modify Domena to display <?php echo $_SERVER[‘SERVER_NAME’] ?>, which would display the domain of the current URL /address. This would allow you to park multiple domains on one Wordpress installation. This is easier to setup, but would not allow the use of Google Analytics.

Hi there,

I just bought Domena from you and installed it just fine.

Only one wee thing I am worried about is when on PC we hover mouse on any selling points on browser status bar it shows the url ireed.net/domena/?post_type=selling_point&p=7 though this selling point is not linked to above path. But when viewed on iPhone these selling points become active links & directed to your theme demo.

I could not find any link in selling points in admin which I could rename.

Please assist.

Thanks

reidknorr

From a later comment you posted, I see you figured this out. Thanks for letting us know.

If anyone else has this problem, delete the selling points (as imported from the demo XML) and add your own – that will point the URL’s back to your website.
