designwall_wp

Hi,

- The theme’s colors are changeable. - Regarding to your other requests (second menu in the footer, lightbox in blog posts or so on) please raise them up to our support page (http://www.designwall.com/question/) and our team will be happy to help you out.

Found another bug—On the social twitter, there is no space between the title and the url of the shared link. Assuming a simple code fix.

Default-user

Nope. Does does not work. Changed it back the original, still double icon.

designwall_wp

Hi,

To resolve the issue you can change the code below:

<i class="icon-twitter" />

to:

<i class="icon-twitter"> </i>

P/S.: I already changed the code for you (based on the FTP account you provided in our support page).

Perfecto!. Thanks!

Why is this theme offered for free on lots of websites? I just paid 45$ for it…

Hello,

I purchased this template a few days ago. I really enjoy the theme however I’m having trouble getting the link thumbnail to show up when I attempt to share the link on Facebook… Is there a fix for this?

Please let me know!

Kevin

designwall_wp

Hi Kevin,

I checked the social share on our demo site (http://demo.designwall.com/dw-fixel/), and it works just fine. But about this issue, you can try this to see if it fixes the issue:

Open up the functions.php file in themes/dw-fixel folder, and add the code below to the bottom of the file:

if( ! function_exists('dw_fixel_fb_meta') ) {
    function dw_fixel_fb_meta() {
        if( is_single() ){
            global $post;
            echo '<meta property="og:title" content="'.get_the_title().'" />';
            echo '<meta property="og:url" content="'.get_permalink().'" />';
            if( has_post_thumbnail() ) {
                $thumb_id = get_post_thumbnail_id();
                $thumb = wp_get_attachment_image_src( $thumb_id, 'full' );
                echo '<meta property="og:image" content="'.$thumb[0].'" />';
            }
            echo '<meta property="og:description" content="'. esc_html( get_the_excerpt() ) .'"/>';
        }
    }
    add_action('wp_head', 'dw_fixel_fb_meta');
}

If the problem persists, please raise your issue to our support page (http://www.designwall.com/question/) and send us your site URL, WP admin for checking.

Looks awesome :D GLWS

Thanks mate!

Hi there, love the theme. Quick Question, I’m attempting to use the UberGrid plugin from codecanyon for various other things outside of the theme (sidebar stuff mainly) and am wondering if it is conflicting with the front end display of the “social wall”. If the plugin is active the social wall items won’t load blog posts on click. I am also wondering because I would like it to function in a way that it would open the blog post in a window rather than as a pop-up, if there’s an easy way to do this and it might solve the issue with the uber grid plugin as well?

designwall_wp

Hi,

You can disable the popup by following the steps here:

Open the main.js file in themes/dw-fixel/assets/js folder, find the following code (around line 342):

if( ! isIE || ( isIE && parseInt( jQuery.browser.version ) > 8 ) ) {

and change it into this:

if( false ) {

If this does not resolve the issue with the uber grid plugin, please raise your issue to our support page (http://www.designwall.com/question/) and send us your site URL, WP admin for checking.

Thank you so much! Will try it now :)

Hi how can i change the color of the background black to white ?, where can i find the appropriate menu to change it ? thank you

designwall_wp

Hi Alberic,

To change the background color from ‘black’ to ‘white’, please go to Dashboard / Appearance / Customize / Custom Code, and add the following code to Header Code section:

<style>
body,.modal,.page-404,body.loading:before {background-color: #fff;}
.grid-wrap, .col-grid [class*="col-"] {border-color: #fff;}
.headline .entry-title,.page-404 .page-title,.page-404 p {color:#333;}
@media (max-width: 979px) {#inner-wrap {background-color: #fff;}}
</style>

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much, it works !!!

Hi,

Very great template ;)

I’m actually working on my website. I would like to know if it is possible to put a logo or a picture in the “Heading 2” (Welcomebox Settings) space on the homepage.

What must I do if it is possible ?

Thank you ;)

Default-user

Hi,

Thank you a lot for your quickly answer! It worked! :) I have another question, on your preview about page, when I put my mouse on the social buttons, they get a bit bigger, but not for me… :/ (I used your xml file). Do you know why ?

Thank you again.

designwall_wp

Hi,

To make the social buttons bigger when mousehover, please make sure you have the class “img-scale-out” in tag, for ex:

<img class="img-responsive img-scale-out" title="Facebook" alt="Facebook" src="http://demo.designwall.com/dw-fixel/wp-content/uploads/fb.png" />

If this does not resolve the issue, please send me your site URL for checking.

Hi

great theme guys! :whistle:

some questions: 1. when i go into a category post, how can i make it so that only posts from the same category will be available in the next / previous buttons (the red arrows on the sides of the posts).

2.A bug… I’ve created a gallery post. when i view it blog structure i can see the small version of it but i can’t click on it and get into the post. how can this be fixed?

Thanks :)

designwall_wp

Hi Tortit,

1. This is a bug of the theme, we’ll fix it in the next updated version of the theme, may be this weekend. We’ll let you know when the new version is released.

2. Please open the content-gallery.php file in themes/dw-fixel folder, find the code below (around line 27):

<?php echo wp_get_attachment_image( $id, 'post-big-box' ); ?>

.. and change it into this:

<a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" data-toggle="modal" data-post-id="<?php the_ID(); ?>">
   <?php echo wp_get_attachment_image( $id, 'post-big-box' ); ?>
</a>

Hope this helps!

Hi, another question. On the home page, i try to fill the instagram box on social wall without succed ( http://www.chemana.fr/). I try these two way but it doesn’t work : - http://instagram.com/username - username@instagram I dont really use instagram, is it possible to keep the same size of this box and replace it by a standard galery or image like the other small box ? Thank you

designwall_wp

Hi Alberic,

To fill the instagram box on social wall, please enter your username (@YOUR_USERNAME) to the Instagram Search input box in Social Wall Settings of the Homepage. If this does not work, please raise a question with your WP admin account to our support page (http://www.designwall.com/question/) so that we can resolve it for you.

Currently, the theme does not support to replace the instagram box with the standard gallery, but we will be working on that, maybe we’ll release the updated version of DW Fixel theme in this weekend, so stay tuned!

Hope this helps!

Hello there,

I recently purchased and installed this Theme and i have serious problems with the single post view.

The problems are:

1. The page does not properly share on Facebook, Facebook’s crawler will fetch the wrong part of the post resulting in a very ugly result: http://than.pol.as/Tvtk Try to share for your own on the actual site: http://linaliakou.me/category/articles/ 2. The single page transition has a bug, it does not sync the sharing widget. This results in moving to a next or previous article and when you click on sharing the original post is shared.

These problems need to be assorted ASAP, my site is live and the problems are harming me.

If possible, it would be a good idea to just load each single post as a new http request vs the current AJAX implementation.

Thank you for understanding the urgency.

designwall_wp

Hi Linaliakou,

1. Please paste the link that have the wrong part of the post in Facebook debugger tool: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ That error may be caused by the cache of Facebook with your articles.

Also, to resolve the meta tag issue with Facebook, you can open the functions.php in themes/dw-fixel folder, and add the code below to bottom of the file:

// FB meta social share
if( ! function_exists('dw_fixel_fb_meta') ) {
    function dw_fixel_fb_meta() {
        if( is_single() ){
            global $post;
            echo '<meta property="og:title" content="'.get_the_title().'" />';
            echo '<meta property="og:url" content="'.get_permalink().'" />';
            if( has_post_thumbnail() ) {
                $thumb_id = get_post_thumbnail_id();
                $thumb = wp_get_attachment_image_src( $thumb_id, 'full' );
                echo '<meta property="og:image" content="'.$thumb[0].'" />';
            }
            echo '<meta property="og:description" content="'. esc_html( get_the_excerpt() ) .'"/>';
        }
    }
    add_action('wp_head', 'dw_fixel_fb_meta');
}

2. To resolve that issue, you can try to disable the popup:

Open the main.js file in themes/dw-fixel/assets/js folder, find the following code (around line 342):

if( ! isIE || ( isIE && parseInt( jQuery.browser.version ) > 8 ) ) {

and change it into this:

if( false ) {

If this does not resolve the issue or you don’t want to disable the popup, please raise your issue to our support page (http://www.designwall.com/question/) and send us your site URL, WP admin so that we can sort out for you.

Hope this helps!

One more quick question… any way to get featured post image to show up in the actual post page?

designwall_wp

Hi Creeati,

To get the featured post image on actual post page, please follow the steps here:

1) Open up 2 files: content-single.php & content-modal.php in themes/dw-fixel folder, find the code below:

<div class="entry-content">
...
</div>

.. and change it into this:

<?php if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) : ?>
        <div class="featured-image">
        <?php the_post_thumbnail() ?>
        </div>
<?php endif; ?>
<div class="entry-content">
...
</div>

2) Go to Dashboard / Appearance / Customize / Custom Code, and add the code below to Header Code section:

<style>
.featured-image {
margin-bottom: 20px;
}
</style>

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I don’t understand how to configure an image as “featured” like on your preview demo (the very big slider on the middle). What are the steps please?

Thank you!

designwall_wp

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in, the very big slider on the middle is the Instagram box, which can be config in Social Wall Settings. You can see more details in our guide here: http://www.designwall.com/guide/dw-fixel/#homepage_layout

Hi DW,

I think this theme is beautiful and am interested in purchasing it, but I’m having trouble with the live demo.

The theme description says that navigation is supposed to be a major component of what makes this theme great, and says I should be able to access to the main menu whenever and wherever I want, but in the demo it appears to be the opposite.

I’m using Safari as my browser, and the first time I tried to open a post from the homepage I was brought to the pop-up view, but the top menu was gone and the only options I had were to share or print.

I tried to use Firefox, and it was a tiny bit better. I could see that on the left and right sides of the post there were supposed to be buttons. (I could see a skinny little pink rectangle) and I realized that those should have shown up on Safari.

I looked at the screenshots and sure enough the arrows are there.

Can you tell me why this is happening? Is this just the demo acting up? I love how the theme looks and I was very keen to have a sticky menu navigation but it just isn’t working.

Thanks for your help, gorgeous theme!

designwall_wp

Hi Komo,

Thanks for your feedback, I have checked the theme in our demo site with Safari, and it just works fine. When you open a post in modal pop up, there is the Next/Prev buttons (left/right side), and a small Close button on the top right of the page.

So, in order to access the main menu, you’ll need to close the modal popup of the post to going back to homepage. If you want the main menu always on top, you can disable the popup.

Hope this helps.

It’s not work from youtube? There’s any example live

Default-user

i believe of no

designwall_wp

Hi Lore,

I’m sorry we don’t understand what you mean about ‘not work from youtube’. If you means the post with youtube videos, here is the sample post with Vimeo video, but it should be the same with youtube: http://demo.designwall.com/dw-fixel/?p=243

Regards,

Hi. whats the default font used in the welcome box heading and body font that was used in the demo?

designwall_wp

Hi,

The font used in welcome box heading is ‘Novecentowide Bold’, the body font is ‘Roboto’, and the article font is ‘Roboto Slab’.

Hope this helps.

Can Uber grid consist of only blog postboxes in different sizes so it looks like the demo but without social media posts?

designwall_wp

Hi Chrillemeter,

To have only postboxes in frontpage, you can go to Dashboard / Settings / Reading, and set the Front page displays as Your latest posts. And to make the ‘tile’ display with big size, you can set the post as featured post in the post editor page.
