Can you please check that your events have an end time? This error gets “thrown” if you have an event with a start but no end time.

I wonder if you can assist me? For some reason all the event details such as start time, end time, date, etc are not showing. Only my description is displaying. What am I doing wrong?

I would consider adding an option for auto inserting the details to a future update, but the reason it doesn’t do so now is to give people with more flexibility in how and what to display in the details section. If you look in the demo I think for most I just inserted a little UL list with the details.

May I suggest an improvement for a future update? Many non-profits could benefit from advanced calendar/event functionality such as repeating events, color coding, and categories for events. Those features would be appreciated more than you know!
Oh, also if the theme presented a mobile version for small browsers like iPhones. Personally, I don’t like fully responsive themes because they tend to serve up a mobile page to iPads.

I might consider updating the calendar a bit. The idea was to have something very simple built-in for those looking for exactly that. As you may know there are already many great really advanced calendar plugins that do have what you request
This theme was created before responsive/mobile design was really hot. I do intend on updating with responsive design in the future. If you don’t like to server responsive design on the ipad, it’s usually as easy as just deleting that specific media query or tweaking the css a little

If I used a calendar plug-in with the Earth theme how would I customize the homepage to allow me to put a widget in the content area? Right now I have the homepage configured like yours because, other than reordering the fields, I can’t figure out how to put anything else on there. What I mean is, how would I replace the events widget on the homepage with the widget from a calendar plug-in?
Oh, and thanks for the Knowledgebase. I’m combing through it right now. Where can I find all the videos you’ve made on this theme?
- I don’t think I’ve added all the videos to one place yet, something I’ll work on though for the next update ( I will probably have to make new ones since a bit will be changed). - Exchanging an area on the homepage you’ll need to edit the correct file. Have a look in includes/home/
Hey there – purchased the theme for our non-profit organisation and love it!
One question though (I know I have seen this issue before in a post, but can’t find it which is why I decided to contact you): The images in the slider appear to be resized and show up a little squished. I know the theme automatically resizes pics, but I was wondering what the exact picture format is, just so I can crop images before and have them show nicely just as in your showcase-site!

thanks, actually i now manually resized because otherwise they turned all flattened and stretched by the autoresize. So I was just wondering if there is an easier way than doing it manually!
If the images weren’t cropping correctly by default there is likely an issue with your site not actually cropping the images or the images were infact not long enough – if they aren’t at least 900px wide they will stretch to fit the container.

To change the order simply change the array and move the names around. To changes the names you can either change the array to have unique keys/values and then alter the foreach statement, or you can add some if conditionals to the foreach loop.

The first widget area is just a text widget in which I added a little image using HTML.
2nd,3rd widgets are using the WordPress “links” widget – this is an older theme, so it was created before the “links” section in WP was removed by default.
Last widget is the “Recent Posts With Thumbnails” custom widget.

I don’t understand the question. The logo by default does link to the homepage…
Are you having issue maybe setting up the homepage like the demo? Be sure to follow the included guide.
- Create a new page - Select the homepage template - Go to settings->Reading - Define that new page as the option for a static front page.

When you download the zip from ThemeForest there should be a folder called Documentation with an HTML file which you can open up and read through.

Hiya chap – nice looking theme. Probably a stupid question, but I assume one can have multiple events on one day on the calendar. Does it support reoccurring events? I am looking to use your theme to deliver a Village Hall website, the events section is very useful, but it will be a problem for the administrator if she needs to manually create multiple dates for the same events each week.
- Multiple events yes, but it won’t show them in order of time, just whichever was added first in the dash.
- Re-curring events not supported. Sorry ;(
- I’m looking into updating the theme to use an external Calendar plugin which much more options, but I don’t have an ETA for the update yet.
Thanks for getting back to me. The administrator is my sister, so it will be her job to put them in. I’ve never had complete success with calendar/event plugins. They are either overly complicated or too simplistic. I assume that I could disable yours and experiment with plugins? I’m just waiting for the nod from the committee and I’ll buy it, the calendar thing is just a niggle, pretty sure I’ll work something out.
I agree with your thoughts on the plugins – too complex or too simple. This theme has a very simply calendar plugin with the thought that common folk would find it easier to use, but developers might want to use an external plugin.
It might be possible to add re-curring events via a recurring-post plugin, but I’m not sure if there is such a thing.
There isn’t any magic “disable events/calendar” button. But I can definitely help point you to the correct files if you want to edit things.
How can I change the url for the logo? I have a donation page that when clicked goes to https. Once on that page when you click on the logo to go back to the home page it stays on https and none of the pictures or plugins will load properly.
I figure if I change navigation to custom http links and the logo to http that will help. Thanks

Can I post multiple events to a single day?
You can have multiple events in a day. But the theme isn’t capable to show them in the order by time, they will be displayed in the order they were entered.
I have an issue with the slider images not loading…any ideas?
you can see it here: http://hycionline.org/It appears your widget is breaking after the first footer widget. What do you have inside this widget? It seems to be causing a PHP error so the rest of your site doesn’t load (including the scripts necessary for the slider).
I deleted the footer widget and it is still not loading? It was working fine a few weeks ago and I made no changes…
If it was working fine and now it’s not something had to have changed. Whether you did it or someone else did. Things can’t magically stop working
The only way to know exactly the issue is if you enable WP_Debug so you can see what error is appearing in the footer area – http://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG
If you have installed any plugins recently I would recommend disabling them to test as well.
