Hey WPExplorer, having two fun issues. One I create an event, it shows up in my footer or events section. Yet when clicked I get a 404 error saying page doesn’t exist.
2) Where do I modify the FAQ section, I see nothing in the HTML inside the page editor, nor anything working with the faq.php file. Thanks again,
1. Try re-saving your permalinks under Settings->Permalinks.
2. The files should be template-faqs.php and template-faqs-by-category.php
Have a couple questions about Events. 1) When I click on the next button it goes from Dec. 2012 to Jan 2012 – not 2013. Not a huge deal but, just wondering if it could be fixed. 2) When I click on the Events page or on the home page Events widget. Can those Events be published by date? Newest first – Otherwise the latest events I put in are always at the top.. Also can they “fall” automatically out of these areas when they are over or do we have to manually remove? Thanks!
Thanks all fixed up!
How do i add the buttons to the home page?
How do i add buttons to the top of the home page (just under the donate button)? this is a big reason why i bought this theme and at the moment i can only add buttons to the bottom of the home page. Thanks for your help!
You mean the menu items? In WordPress you setup your menu under Appearance->Menu.
Here is a little guide that might be useful: http://www.screenr.com/zVXs
I’m new to all this, so i’m sorry if i’m being very basic here, but i did think that all this was a bit more intuitive. My questions pertains to the (tabs, buttons, whatever they are called???) at the top to the page. On the example they are titled: ” Home, who we are, evernt, gallery, news features, contact”. Could you please tell me how to make these clickable objects. Again, please speak in plain english because i’m not very hip on how to do all this. I’m volunteering and we are hoping to become a 501c3. thanks for your help!

For some reason the latest posts on the homepage aren’t displaying. I made sure the right category was being selected to show from the theme options page, as well as posts that had that category selected. Any thoughts?
From what I recall there was a bug a long time ago with this. Can you try re-downloading and updating the file at includes/home/blog.php?
sorry for any troubles!
Hi WPExplorer,
Great Theme!
1. Is translatable?
2. Can I change the colors of the theme?
BR, Bisso
1. .Mo and .Po files are included.
2. Colors must be changed via CSS, there aren’t any built-in options for this. So you will need to know basic HTML/CSS.
Hi i have two questions before buying it: - in the calendar, is it possible to have the names of the week in a different language? Can they be edited easily? Can you please check this it’s very important, thanks. - the donate button supports just a link to a website or i can put html and have it to send an email? Thanks in advance.
Hi Daviid,
The whole calendar should be localized and translatable via the .mo .po files or directly in the template.
The donate button supports a link only. You can use the mailto: attribute though if that works for you. Otherwise you can edit header.php to change the donate button to something completely different.
If you want to verify the calendar thing prior to purchase contact me via my profile page, for ease of mind.
Any way to create archive pages – post category specific.. Or plugins you know of to do this. I looked all over but, can’t seem to find any.
Post category archives are created automatically when you make the categories. While in the dashboard you can click on “view” when hovering a category name if you are having trouble finding them.

You are welcome!
How can i fix it?
Firefox 3.6 is 3 years old. I think it’s about time you upgrade to a modern browser
Current version is 17.01
Further answer for the comment above :
I had the same question, because my boss use an old mac on wich you can’t update the firefox version. ( mac os 10 if i remember well ). I guess you have the same trouble if you’re still using so old ff version. So i changed all the css position to make it work on ff 3. But it wasn’t working on chrome anymore… Working on chrome better than working on an outdated navigator… So the better thing you have to do is to buy a new mac, or to use Safari…
Thanks for stopping by
Also you could potentially add CSS just for the older Firefox version like such:
html>/**/body .selector, x:-moz-any-link, x:default { /* CSS FOR FIREFOX 3 ONLY */ }Maybe that will help you out as well!
Unfortunately people need to update their systems so they can take full advantage of modern coding. If you want to use the freeway you can’t ride your horse
Hey man!
I hope you are well
My blog posts won’t give you an option to leave a reply… They say you have to be logged in first.
I allowed comments on my theme menu as well as my actual settings, but still nothing…
Any ideas?
Well it’s defiantly not going to be a theme issue since the comment system is core.
If the comments were disabled and you enabled them any old posts will still have them disabled. This will have to be enabled. Easiest way is going to the posts dashboard, select all and using bulk-quick edit.
Hi there,
Is it possible to remove the “featured events” section from the homepage and have the “from the blog” section be full width with more text preview? Also, is it possible to create some custom fields that could also appear by the “posted on” section? For example the newspaper or writer credit. Not sure if that makes sense. You can see the homepage of our current site here: http://www.ancientforestalliance.org/
Lastly, it it possible to expand the overall width of the website?
Thanks!!
1. Have a look here: http://www.wpthemehelp.com/knowledgebase/homepage-blog-posts-full-width-earth-wordpress-theme/
2. It is possible to add extra data, but thats something you’ll need to do on your own. Easiest would be using custom fields – http://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Fields
3. Expanding the width… This is a CSS edit. Take a look at the #wrapper div, which currently has a width of 900px in style.css. If you alter the width you’ll of course have to also change the grid structure to fit the new size…sidebar, post area, gallery columns, slider width…etc. This is something you’ll need to do or hire a freelancer for
Thanks for the purchase!
Great!! Those explanations are perfect.
Thought of another one. Is it possible to change the size of the image that appears with a post in the News section? And if you do change it, will that retro actively change the previous pictures? And finally, would those pictures be re-sized to fit smaller box or simply cropped to fit?
OH! And one more… tee hee. Have you seen any successful integrations of specific store plugins? Just looking to sell maybe 10 or so items on one page.
You mean change the image size on single posts? If so, what you would do is open single.php and change line 37:
The 620 is the width the 9999 is the height and the false is the cropping.
Changing this value will change all posts.
Ecommerce…I’ve seen a few people using WooCommerce but I don’t have the links. You will probably need to make a template for the store and add some styling for some things to match:
http://wcdocs.woothemes.com/codex/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/Hi there, I love this theme! My web designer bought it for my site and I have since taken over. I am trying to get rid of 4 icons on left sidebar…Date, Categories, Comments and Admin. I tried the advice you gave someone else about copying some code into the bottom of Css code and it didn’t do anything. Can you please give me specific advice on how to remove these items? Thanks alot, Celine
Hey there
Glad you like the theme. You can remove these manually from the template files – loop-entry.php and single.php – you’ll want to look for the .entry-left div, that’s what you’ll want to remove.
When you remove this though, you’ll end up with some extra space on the left. So you’ll have to add some additional css for making the entry-right full-width.
Thanks so much for your reply on this. Can I replace .entry-left div with code for a different icon, gallery or text to fill the empty space? Thanks! Celine
Sure, but that’s something you’ll need to do on your own since it’s not a theme issue but a customization
I really LIKE this theme and wish I could use it for a nonprofit org whose site we’re redoing. Will you at some point make this theme responsive so that it will be easily useable on smart phones? That is unfortunately a requirement for our project. Thanks!
Unfortunately I don’t have plans on making this one responsive. Its better for me to release a new non-profit theme in the future that is responsive then spend a lot of time/effort to “responsify” this one.
Add a +1 vote with @Chnine and @dbvdb on making this theme responsive. I do understand that it’s a pain going back and trying to make it responsive. A prospective client absolutely loves this theme and it fits their needs (with minor customizations) perfectly. Having a responsive version would be fantastic for their “younger” audience. As it is, I’m trying to research options for making it responsive on my own…ugh.
I’ll consider hiring someone to make it responsive
I have been asked quite a lot!
Yay! I’ll be watching for theme updates, as I’m going to go ahead an purchase.
Thanks for the purchase! Unfortunately I can’t promise or provide an eta for responsiveness on Earth.
Add one more very interested buyer if this theme can be responsive! Thx!
hello, congratulations for the work. One question: is it possible that with the advent of version 3.5 there are problems? In my site the fonts and buttons that contain the titles became bigger and so they messed up the pages. Thank you for your attention. (This is the site: http://www.albenga5.org/site/)
I made a small update a while ago (see changelog on theme page) but there really shouldn’t be any issues with 3.5 even without the update. My live demo is working just the same.
“fonts and buttons…are bigger”? Are you sure you aren’t “zoomed” into your browser? Maybe try clicking control+0 (if on PC).
problem solved. there was a plugin that created conflict with the style and widened buttons and titles. for the record, the plugin is “download manager”. thanks and good work.
Thanks for letting me know you got it resolved!
AJ, Thanks for the awesome theme. I’m getting ready to launch my site in a couple of days, and I just noticed that all of a sudden my blog posts, events, and galleries are not displaying correctly if you try to go into the single page view. It seems like they are all locked into the loop view. For example, if I click on a news story that has a “read more” button it doesn’t do anything; if I click on a picture to go to a full gallery, I get nothing; and if I click an event, it certainly doesn’t look like the pretty page in the preview. I’ve done a descent bit of customizing, but I honestly can’t think of anything I’ve done that would make all of those stop working. I did try installing the updated theme, but I had the same results. Do you have any thoughts? Could it be something in my actual Wordpress file structure causing this issue? I’m stumped. Here is a link to the development site. Thanks so much for your help! http://http://69.195.124.73/~commpart/communitypartnership/
Something does seem weird here. It’s pretty much impossible for me though to give you any gidance just looking at the site itself.
Have you installed any plugins lately? Maybe you can try de-activating any recently added plugins to make sure there isn’t a conflict there.
If you want to open a private ticket at wpthemehelp.com with your logins I should be able to take a closer look and better assist you (assuming there wasn’t just a plugin conflict as noted above)
AJ,
It did end up being a plugin conflict. I had been testing out several mobile theme plugins, and didn’t realize that I had two of them enabled at the same time. So it was messing with everything. I disabled the one I’m not using and deleted it, and everything is working just fine now. Thanks for your time and for an awesome theme again. It’s really fitting the needs of our organization. I appreciate your time!
Will
That’s good! I’m glad it’s all sorted out for you Will, thank you for letting me know, I appreciate it!
