Hello (again),

Another question … The paragraph font remains as the default no matter which font I choose.

Also, can I have more than 1 custom Google font? I want to use different fonts for the headings and the paragraph text.

Thanks! (again)

Themovation

Hi omnoogle, are you using the latest version of the theme? It should say v1.1.2 in the backend under Appearance > Themes. That’s a bug that some users were experiencing. It’s fixed in the latest version of the theme, so if you haven’t made any changes to the core theme files, we would recommend just downloading the latest version. If you have made changes, then just send us an email from our author profile page and we can send you a hotfix. Cheers!

I have 1.1, I’ll update it. Thanks!

Themovation

I realized that you asked a second question I didn’t address: Yes you actually can have multiple custom Google Fonts. To add more than one custom, put a pipe between the titles in the Font Name field. For example:

Snowburst+One|Jacques+Francois+Shadow

Cheers.

Is there a way to Disable the prices on this theme?? Thanks! Very interested in purchasing! Great Theme!

Themovation

Hi SarahRKcom, thank you! Yes, for each item you can include a price or leave it out. Let us know if you have any other questions. Cheers!

Hi, I have a question: Is there any way I can reorder the menu items?

I know that what I must do in the beginning is to upload them in the order I need them to display; but then what if the chef adds an item or two? Do I have to delete all the menu items and reload them in the new order? I have tried some plugins for custom ordering, but they don’t seem to work.

Thanks in advance.

Themovation

Hi TaddChapman, the easiest way to reorder is the change the publish date. I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any more questions. Thank you!

Thanks! I didn’t thought about that… actually I’ve never seen is possible to change it. Thanks!

Themovation

Hi goldenhome, can you please message us through our author profile (http://themeforest.net/user/Themovation) and we can collect some information from you. Once you email us I’ll get back to you asap. From the looks of the error message is sounds like a hosting configuration. We’ll get you all fixed up. Thanks for choosing Eatery. We are happy to help you with this. :)

Thanks for your email and the help you provide, quick and really pro!! Impressive support :-))

Do you have an HTML version of this?

Themovation

Hi djdeth, we did not release an HTML version of this theme and don’t have any plans to at this time.

Great Theme. Need some help though, I have been plugging along entering menu items with featured images. I have 49 items entered all is well except today when I set featured item on new menu item. all i get is a message that’s says “Error: attachment not found”. If I attached a previously uploaded image it shows. No newly uploaded images will show as featured image. I can place the same newly uploaded image into the body (Post) and it shows up fine. Could you tell me whats going on. thanks very much. Need to finish this as it is a build for a restaurant client. http://themayorsplace.com/sweet-and-savory/
Themovation

Sound like you figured it out. Thanks Lesblevins! Enjoy the theme.

Thanks false alarm problem was caused by a plugin that I installed. Removed and now all is well. Thanks again for a fantastic theme.

Awesome! Thank you for choosing us.

Hello,

I am not sure how to configure the [foodmenu] shortcode to display only one menu category, please help.

S.

Themovation

Hi shussein, if you wanted the shortcode to show for example only desserts, then you would use the following:

[foodmenu groups=desserts]
You can view the documentation for more information on this and the other shortcodes: http://bit.ly/12C4Y4m

Cheers!

Could there be a way I could make this theme Purple ?

Themovation

Hi WebHelpGuys, yes definitely. Eatery offers a few ways to customize the colors. In the admin options you can start based on one of the included 6 skins and change certain colors, like the sidebar for example, or you can make the colors totally custom using the color picker. Alternatively you could create a child theme based on one of the skins and have exact control over each element of the site. Let us know if you have any further questions. Cheers!

Hello!

I purchased your theme recently, and I am really happy with it! It is such a cool design!! I am entering in menu items, and the description text doesn’t seem to be wrapping. You can see an example if what I am talking about here: http://50.87.167.174/~capnsroa/menu/appetizers/

Take a look at the Nacho Mountain description. I am running version 1.1.2 of the theme. What needs to be done to fix this?

Thanks for your help!!

Themovation

I had a look and sent you an email- it turned out to be because your shortcode was wrapped in a “pre” tag. That can happen if you copy/paste from the documentation into the Visual mode of the page editor. It’s all fixed now. Cheers!

Default-user

Thanks for your email and helping me get this fixed so quickly!! You are awesome!!

Themovation

You’re very welcome :)

Hi there! I am hoping you may be able to help me. I am getting an error, “Error: attachment not found.” where the display of the Featured image should appear within a blog post. It was working a couple of weeks ago and I haven’t updated the site since. Now all new images won’t display as the feature, on the single view – only on the blog list view. I only have three plugins installed and deactivated each to make sure it isn’t a conflict there. Has there been any other reports of this happening? If so, any advice you could give? Thanks for your help.

Themovation

Hi marisafal, that’s not something we’ve come across yet. It is odd that it suddenly started giving that error- something likely would have had to change; it’s hard to say without seeing it. I can certainly have a look if you send us an email through our author profile page (http://themeforest.net/user/Themovation) with admin login info for WordPress. Cheers!

Thanks Themovation – sending it now.

On the nav bar, I added custom links. Is there a way to make them open up in a new window?

Themovation

Hi blancaV,

Yes you can. When viewing the menu administration page, click on Screen Options (top right), and check the box labelled Link Target under the Show advanced menu properties heading.

Now select the link you want to edit and you can specify to open in a new window/tab. Cheers!

Default-user

Thanks so much. That worked like a charm.

Hi I really like your theme. Bought it and have a quick question. In the food menu, any html code looks like it’s being stripped out of the descriptions. Is there a way to allow html in the food item descriptions? Thanks!

Default-user
ujmsales Purchased

Hi thanks for the quick reply. I should have specified that they are not working when you use the shortcode to display the entire food group on a page. They do work if you look at the individual page for each item, but not when they are listed as part of a full menu.

Default-user

Here’s a quick test of html in a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/3kAlUZ2c1VqB

Themovation

Thanks ujmsales, try using the manual excerpt with html. That worked well for us on our demo site.

1. Open up a menu item for editing. 2. Scroll down to the excerpt edit area. 3. Manually insert your HTML e.g.: I would like to <strong>bold</strong> this part of my excerpt.

If that doesn’t work feel free to send us your WP login via our author profile page (http://themeforest.net/user/Themovation) and we’ll help you. Thanks again.

One more question. I know where the option is to add custom colors. All I want to change is the left nav bar. Whenever I change the color the font changes to yellow. Is there a place for me to customize the color?

Great theme – thanks :)

Themovation
Hi BlancaV, are you saying you want to change just the color of the sidebar background? The first field in the custom colors should only affect that element. If that is the only single element you want to change the color of, you could also disable the custom colors, use the preset you like and just add this code in the Custom CSS box instead:
#sidebar {background:#000 !important;}
Cheers!

Hi – this was a fun theme to work with.

I installed and customized it for a client in a separate folder on her server. We just moved it live today, but the slider disappeared on the Welcome page. I’ve gone in and done the permissions checks for TimThumb and also looked at the TimThumb troubleshooting links you gave. Still, I can only get the slider “dots” to show up – no images. The image paths are correct to the new server location.

Can you help? http://www.chafeslanding.com/

The code on the welcome page looks like this:

[slideshow slider_height=200 slider_width=668 effect=fade showtitle=0] http://www.chafeslanding.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/slider2.jpg http://www.chafeslanding.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/slider1.jpg http://www.chafeslanding.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/slider3.jpg http://www.chafeslanding.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/slider4.jpg [/slideshow]

Permissions on the cache folder are at 775, but they also don’t work at 777.

Thanks, in advance.

Themovation

Hi missbranded, thanks- happy to hear that. Sounds like it is a permissions issue. Have you tried 755 instead of the other 2? If you have and it’s still not working, feel free to send us an email through our author profile page with your WordPress and FTP login and I’ll take a look. Cheers!

Default-user

No luck with 755. I’ll send an email. Thanks so much!

Themovation

Sounds good, I’ll have a look.

Hello again Themovation! So, I’m trying to enable the prettyPhoto lightbox plugin you’re using on the menu items on regular images throughout the site. It appears prettyPhotos’ default rel=”prettyPhoto” doesn’t work. Can you advise me on how to utilize this feature?

Thanks!

Themovation

Hi again, if you use our image shortcode, then prettyPhoto works as expected. The reason it doesn’t work otherwise is we only include the JS when the shortcode is there, rather than loading every time. Cheers!

Thanks so much for your quick reply!! Now I understand how you have it set up. I kind of feel it may be limiting to someone who is used to Wordpress’s built in image inserting capability (through the Add Media button), or am I missing something? Does this method allow for easily aligning images left to right? Is there a way I could edit the code to allow for the lightbox to get called into every page? I tried to create a new enqueue through a child-theme functions file, but it doesn’t seem to do the job. Any advice you might have on that? Thanks again, for a stellar theme. :)

Themovation

Hi marisafal, we opted not to use the rel=”prettyPhoto” because rel is not html 5 compliant, yet. We could have used it but the HTML 5 validator was throwing errors. So… you could manually enqueue the style and register both pretty photo scripts in all pages by adding that code to your functions file, once that is done you can add the following element to your a tag (data-gal=”prettyPhoto”). That should make the images open up with prettyphoto.

I believe this is the code for your functions file (no guarantees!):
// Image CSS | PrettyPhoto

$css_prettyPhoto = get_template_directory_uri() . '/css/prettyPhoto.css';

wp_register_style( 'imageCSS', $css_prettyPhoto, false, '3.1.4' );

wp_enqueue_style('imageCSS');

wp_register_script('jquery.prettyPhoto', get_template_directory_uri() . '/js/prettyphoto/jquery.prettyPhoto.js', '', '', true);

wp_register_script('jquery.prettyPhoto.settings', get_template_directory_uri() . '/js/prettyphoto/jquery.prettyPhoto.settings.js', '', '', true);

... and then use the data-gall in your A tag (data-gal=”prettyPhoto”)

e.g.:

<a href="http://link-to-full-size.jpg" data-gal="prettyPhoto"><img src="http://link-to-thumb.jpg" width="100" height="100" /></a>

Alternative Method

I was able to bypass all the above by using our built-in image shortcode with a spacer gif:

[image src="http://link-to-spacer.gif" width="1" height="1"]

.. and then add in your A tag with data-gal=”prettyPhoto” e.g.:

<a href="http://link-to-full-size.jpg" data-gal="prettyPhoto"><img src="http://link-to-thumb.jpg" width="100" height="100" /></a>

I hope that helps. It’s a customization for sure but perhaps with your knowledge of scripting you can make it work with this tools.

Hi there.

I have bought, installaled and completly love my eatery theme :)

I am having trouble making changes to the reservation page and make som custom changes to it.

Can you help?

Kind regards, Trine Rosholm

Hi Trine, thanks that’s great! Depending on what you’re looking to do, we can likely help you or at least point you in the right direction. If you send us an email through our author profile page (http://bit.ly/11LFXDr) with more information on specifically what you are wondering about, then we can go from there. Cheers!

I have version 1. I’d like to update, but I have made some minor tweaks (header image size ) can you tell me just what files need to be updated. I rather not over write and then find my site all tweaked. Thanks.

Themovation

Hi b2rad2, the best and most efficient way to update would be to download a free program called WinMerge ( http://winmerge.org ) and then download the latest theme version and do a comparison. The program makes it very easy to see what files changed and what lines in the files. We always suggest making a backup of your existing version just in case. Cheers!

Great Theme! Is it possible to make the header image not so tall, can i shrink it by half?

Themovation

Hi hbon23, thank you! Yes you can it just requires changing a little bit of code in a few theme files. If you send us an email through our theme author page then I can send instructions on how to change it. Cheers!

Hi, I purchased the Eatery theme and I can’t install on WordPress. I downloaded the zip file then put it on my desktop. I uploaded it and got an error message that the style.css file is missing. I repeated my download from themeforest and repeated the upload process. Still not working. Thanks for advice.

I get this error message: Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-3469316-eatery-responsive-restaurant-wordpress-theme(1).zip Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.

Themovation

Thank you! Yes that’s true that you need to upload a zip file, but just not the whole zip file you downloaded. There is a zip file inside of the download file. After you have extracted the zip file that you downloaded and have the folder with subfolders in it, there will be a zip file there as well called “eatery-theme.zip” and that is the one you should upload. Cheers.

Default-user

Hello again, thank you. I uploaded the zip file and it worked. I’m not sure I have every thing to get started because it still looks like a WordPress Blog in the left column and body/content area. I don’t have the formatting and pop-out menus and don’t have a template that looks like the theme to populate for the menus, etc. I am unable to find the help file that I see mentioned at the bottom of the sidebar. Thank you for your help.

Themovation

Included in the theme download is a folder titled ‘documentation’ which contains an HTML file of instructions for the theme. You can also view the documentation online (http://bit.ly/W02DAI) See section 01.C regarding the demo content. By importing the demo content you will have a site that looks much closer to the theme preview. Cheers!
