Hi! First of all congratulation for the theme, it’s my first premium theme i bought and i’m very happy with my purchase ! So thank’s ;)

I’ve juste one question (I read the 220 comments and I don’t think anyone has asked this question), about backslash in the Headline Introduction Text (Homepage) when i use ” ’ ” (apostrophe).

Exemple, when i write this text : It’s a very beautiful theme.

On the homepage screen we read : It\’s a very beautiful theme.

I read on internet that i can use “stripslashes” but i’m not a pro and i don’t know what i have to do ^^.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to everyone !

Sincerely.

I might be doing something wrong. Would like the individual slider image to actually link to the post that they belong to. Is it possible to have the slider images be images from a post and then when you click it, it directs to that post.

Or, are the slider images unclickable/unlinkable?

Are the slider images meant to link to anything or are they just slider images and nothing more.

I do love this theme.

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for buying it! :)

Linked slides are possible, but are unfortunately not available out of the box in the Echo theme, so some degree of development is required of you to achieve what you are after. This is most definitely a task for a developer.

Hi, I just purchased this theme and it will not upload to my site. It says the style.css stylesheet is missing? How can I remedy this?

Thanks!

onioneye

Hey there,

no worries. You are just uploading the theme improperly. Please unzip the main folder first, and read the documentation found within, to install and setup the theme properly.

Hello! Love the theme. I have noticed that my site www.mobloggy.com flickers when it is first opened. Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks!

Hey there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for buying it! :)

I don’t see any flickers. Chrome 16.0 and Win 7 here. Which browser and which OS do you use?

By the way, like what you did to the theme! Looks really nice! :)

Hello Onion Eye, In blog posts the text does not wrap around the images….they either go above or below…regardless of whether I have aligned them left/right/center/none….

EDIT - Forget the above….got it sorted….just the below caption issue…

Also- the captions for all images appear way below the image – how can I sort this?

See http://gingko.co.za/travel/experiencing-the-pleasures-of-swahili-cuisine/

Thanks

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you got your issue sorted out! :)

As far as the captions are concerned, please try adding the following custom CSS to the theme:

.wp-caption { border: 1px solid #ddd; text-align: center; background-color: #f3f3f3; padding-top: 4px; font-style: italic; margin-bottom: 20px; }

.wp-caption img, .wp-caption img a { margin: 0 !important; padding: 0; border: 0 none; }

.wp-caption .wp-caption-text { padding: 0 4px 5px; margin: 0; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; }

I hope this helps! :)

P.S. change the color of the border and the background to your liking, in the first line of the custom code.

Thanks- the CSS sort of worked…but no matter what numbers i put in there and the captions are always much lower than they should be, and not centered – I want them 5-10 pixel below and centered under the image…

Can you advise?

onioneye

Hey there,

adding the text-align: center; property-value pair to the following CSS selector will work:

.wp-caption .wp-caption-text

As far as spacing is concerned, play around with padding and margins to get the spacing you desire.

YThank you but I hve tried playing with the margin and padding numbers- makes no difference to the placement of the caption – nor does the code for centering the text. Now when I add a caption to the image it (the image) automatically gets aligned to the left, no matter what the image settings are (center align.)

onioneye

Hey there,

the code for centering definitely works, as I tested it on your site. Please make sure you are entering the following in your custom CSS :

.wp-caption .wp-caption-text { text-align: center; }

I will import the code for the captions and WordPress’ built-in image-related classes over the weekend, so you don’t have to bother. You can check the item details page, or follow me via twitter, to find out when the theme update has been supplied.

Thanks a lot Onion Eye… Please can you explain what this means: “you’ll have the full change log in the theme’s root directory.” googled it but no joy thanks, c

onioneye

Hey there,

the change log is a text file, that contains a list of all the changes made in the theme updates, and which resides in the theme’s root directory.

By the way, the update has been fully completed now, so you can go ahead and download the theme.

Hi, I saw that in your footer, there is a twitter feed and in the css, codes are determined for the tweets. Is it possible you tell me which widget did you used in?

Thanks

Hey there,

you can find the name of the widget plugin, as well as a link to it, in the theme’s documentation.

Best of luck,

Hello Again-

I’m trying to edit the CSS of the portfolio pages. Basically I want to increase the width of the container for the text on my “event” pages. http://bonfirentertainment.com/my_portfolio/snowball-music-festival/ I found that this area is grid 3 or container 12 and I changed it to be wider but realized that grid 3 is also the container for the small thumbnails for the events on the homepage so when I changed it- it caused my 4 thumbs move. I think I need to edit just the “portfolio-item-meta” and change which grid my content goes by but I can’t find where to do this. Please help!

onioneye

Hello there, again. :)

You need to modify the grids in the single-my_portfolio.php file. Familiarity with the 960 grid system (link provided in the docs) is a must for this task, so I suggest you do just that, familiarize yourself with it, so you can modify the site, without messing anything up.

One more question- I want to edit the thumbnails for the portfolio items. I thought I did this within the featured image/edit thumbnail but it appears as though that only affected the thumbnail in the image gallery, not the square thumbnail that displays on the main portfolio page. Any way I can manually set the thumbnail image or manually crop which part of the featured image shows up?

THANKS !

Hey there,

You can achieve what you are after by removing the share_this function, including the line of code immediately after it.

Hint: the share_this function is declared in the functions.php file.

Hi there!

Love the theme! However, I’m having a few style issues that I can’t seem to locate in the css.

Here is the site now: www.jaimeslavin.com

The two main things are the two thick lines at the top of the site and the border line showing up just above the footer running 100% across the page. I would like to remove these things and have tried making the border 0 on anything I can find, but they don’t want to disappear. Can someone let me know how I can remove these?

One other quick thing, as you can see I set a white background on the container_12, but it wasn’t connecting before to the footer, there was a big gap between the white. I was able to connect them but since adding a border radius the separation is showing again. I am not familiar with the 960 framework so could someone tell me how to just remove the white back from the footer? Or connect them? Either or…doesn’t matter!!!

Thanks for you help!!!

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks a lot for buying it! :)

To answer your questions:

1) I inspected the border values by using chrome’s web inspector, and I see that you managed to disable the borders. Congrats! :)

2) I see you managed to make this as well, or am I missing something here? If you are not seeing the changes, please try clearing the browser’s cache and looking at the site again.

Hi there. I’m loving the theme but just a few things I havent been able to work out: 1) how to change the 4 large photos on the home page on the accordion option & where they link to 2) how to change the header links (events, portraits, weddings etc) at the top of the page so they link to a gallery of mine. 3) how to create drop down menus? My website is www.daisyeventphotography.co.uk/wordpress Thanks Melanie

onioneye

Hey Melanie,

glad you are loving the theme! Thanks for the purchase! :)

To answer your questions:

1) You need to modify the landing-page-template.php file, found in the theme’s root directory, to achieve this.

2,3) Please read the official WordPress’ documentation on the custom menus feature, to learn how to change the menu items, and make drop-down menus. http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen

I hope this helps! :)

Dear OnionEye,

Happily trucking away with your theme for almost two months now. Working great.

I have a question: I’d like to use the “sticky” feature of posts and portfolio items to sometimes bump an item but I’m running into trouble on two fronts:

1. making a post sticky screws up the layout (if you have set to 4 posts, 5 appear)

2. I cannot set a portfolio item to “sticky” at all in the admin area.

how could I go about fixing this, or is this something you’d be willing to incorporate into a them update when one is coming up?

cheers, and thanks!

a

onioneye

Hey there,

glad the theme is working great for you! :)

To answer your questions:

1) Unfortunately, sticky posts are not fully supported, but I might be addressing them in the next update of the theme. If you need this feature now, you are going to have to build it yourself, or hire someone to do it for you.

2) In WordPress, sticky posts are not available at all for custom post types (in this case, the portfolio custom post type), but can be enabled with this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sticky-custom-post-types/

I hope this helps! :)

Hey OnionEye,

I am having trouble to display my latest posts on my blog page like in your live preview (http://onioneyethemes.com/echo/blog/)

I could not find any options the theme options menu about this.

This is my blog page http://www.kiyimuzik.com/yeni/blog/

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks for your help! Cheers!

Hey there,

I honestly don’t see what’s the trouble here. Your posts are displayed in the same order the blog posts are displayed on the demo site, or am I missing something here?

Hey Onion Eye!

Great theme. Is updating the theme as simple as downloading files again and uploading?

Thanks!

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you consider the theme great! :)

As far as your question goes, if you haven’t modified the theme’s code directly, you can go ahead and download the theme files from ThemeForest, and replace the old theme folder on your server, with the new one, via FTP .

Hello!

Awesome theme. So clean!

I see that this question was asked in an earlier thread but I wasn’t able to find the solution. Could you point me to the correct file for changing the “my_portfolio” url?

Thanks again!

onioneye

Hey there,

glad you find the theme awesome! Thanks for the purchase! :)

As far as the URL is concerned, you need to modify the arguments ($args array) found inside the of_portfolio_register function; i.e. add a “rewrite” property in there. Please read the “rewrite” section of the following article, to learn more: http://shibashake.com/wordpress-theme/custom-post-type-permalinks Note: the file that needs to be modified is called custom-post-type.php.

1. I assumed transition options would be included w/ this jQuery slider. i see not, can you assist me in making the images “slide” rather than “fade” ?

2. Also, is it possible to have an image on individual project pages w/ the zoom option that once zoomed will show the small thumbnails of other images BUT only visable once in the zoom window? OR, probably easiest, putting the tabbed slider on individual project pages w/ thumbnails underneath?

thanks so much,

onioneye

Hey there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it! :)

To answer your questions:

1) You actually do have an option for this. It’s called “Slider Type” and is found under the “Slider” tab of the Theme Options panel. Please check it out.

2) This is possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you. This is most definitely a task for a developer, by the way.

woops,

I did not see ‘slider type’.

As for the other question, I have not had a chance to look at your scripts. I was just wondering if I could alter the php files without creating new ones or new style sheets. If its a huge alteration Ill use a plug but if not a few points in the right direction would be awesome.

Thanks

</c>

onioneye

Hey there,

no worries. The important thing is that you see it now, and that it worked for you. :)

When it comes to the second question, I would have given you the directions immediately, if this required 1-2 lines of code modifications, but it is much more than that, so I can’t provide support for this one. I suggest you hire a developer for the job, or maybe try a plugin, like you mention, to see if it will work out of the box for you.

Thank you for your understanding. :)

I bought Echo and am really please with the way that it looks. However, I have encountered some problems with the theme when used in conjunction with some plugins. The first store plugin I used was WP e-commerce. The shop layout was inconsistent as far as picture placement goes. Finding the plugin was incompatible with the Echo theme, I purchased another shop plugin which was SHOPP and with this one the problem is that the shop categories, when clicked, lead to a page that says ‘View project’, and when I click on that it goes to PAGE NOT FOUND . I know the problem is with the theme because when I change the theme from Echo to another, it works perfectly. In the back end under shop categories it lists the number of products in that category, yet there is no code or picture in the html. I was hoping to get a fix for this. I think that the two shop plugins are very common and feel that Echo should be compatible with at least one of them.

Thank you

onioneye

Hey there,

thanks for buying the theme. Glad you are pleased with the way it looks! :)

As far as your issues with the plugins are concerned, the Echo theme is primarily a portfolio theme; not an e-commerce theme, but I have tried my best to write the code in a manner in which it would make it compatible with many of the plugins out there. However, as with any plugin of this complexity, it requires a few tweaks, and that especially applies to the first plugin you mention (WP e-commerce). Since it works for you, the only thing you need to modify seems to be the CSS , to make it look good, so I suggest you hire a developer to do this for you, if you are not proficient in CSS .

By the way, I have seen a few sites build an e-commerce stores with Echo, and almost all of them made some tweaks to the code to make the plugin perfectly fit in with the theme.

Sincerely,

OnionEye
