It says this theme is compatible in Chrome and Opera..

I bought it and it has now come to my attention that Chrome does not display the text with the pictures on the image slider. Also, Opera doesn’t even show the images, and the image text is placed on top of the ECLIPSE logo…

Why is this?!

Hi Excizted,

Thank you so much for buying Eclipse :) ! Could you give me a link to your copy of template, where this bug appears? I’d like to look at your code and find out a solution for you.

Hello,

Thank you for you reply – it feels great you actually appreciate my purchase ;) Your design is great too!

Actually, it happen just as well on the Live Demo – at least with Chrome.

I isolated the Opera issue myself – when I surround the image tags in the slider with “a” (link) tags, and the image tags uses the title property, the whole slider is ruined.

Hi Excizted,

Which version of Chrome are you using? I have Chrome 4.1 and everything looks like it should (at Opera 10.51 too).

Hi,

I’m using Chromium 5, and to make sure it was not an issue with Chromium, I downloaded the actual Google Chrome 5 as well.

Again, the pictures display and slide just fine. But the title text isn’t there.

Hello,

NivoSlider which is used in Eclipse doesn’t support Chrome 5 already, but i’ve just checked Eclipse on Chrome 5. Please see the screenshot » http://rafalwozniak.pl/ec_chrome5.jpg

I’m running on Windows Vista. I’ll check it also on XP tomorrow at work and write back to you as soon as possible. Maybe that’s the case?

Thank you for your patience.

Best regards, Rafal

Hi,

More exactly it is Chrome 5.0.342.9, build 43360 under Ubuntu “Lucid Lynx” 10.04 Linux.

But I wouldn’t think the execution of jQuery would be different in Chrome from Windows to Linux.

Do you have any idea how to make them pictures a link, without breaking them in Opera?

Regards,

Excizted!

Thank you very much! It did help – almost perfect in Opera now..

Just this unexplainable thing happening to the slide selector: http://excizted.lexkorbs.dk/files/slider-issue-eclipse.jpg

Once again, thank you very much for your kindness :)

Maybe it’s happening because adding display:block to all ‘a’ elements in the #slider. Try to add: .nivo-controlNav a { display:inline; }

Thank you again for purchasing Eclipse. I hope you like my next templates :).

Yes, I’ll surely be looking forward to see your next releases :)

I found that there was already a .nive-controlNav a {} part, and it was set to display:inline-block;

I changed it to display:inline; with no difference. I tried with and without your first suggestion, #slider a{ display:block;} but neither was a solution.

I’m editting nivo-sider.css, btw.

Hello,

It’s hard to find a solution when you don’t see a bug on your machine :) , but I’ve found demos site » http://nivo.dev7studios.com/demos/ , where is a slider with links and captions. There is display:block used for all a elements. If this example looks fine on your computer maybe css used in it will be helpful for you?

Hi Rafal,

I have been looking at the demo site and I found the solution:

.nivo-controlNav a { display:block; float:left; }

But this is not quite victory yet. As with float: left; the centering is killed. I tried auto margin but didn’t work.

I could add a left statement to the .nivo-controlNav, but it’s not very dynamic, as the centering would be gone if I added/removed a slice.

Any thoughts?

Again, thanks for helping out! :)

Hi Rafal, your contact page for this site is not working, looks like a .php or .asp file is missing? Can you assist?

Regards Anita
