Common WordPress Installation Issues

Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

When I try to edit the logo or any other image in the theme options, nothing changes!

After uploading an image, you need to hit the “Save All Changes” button in the lower or upper right of the theme options panel.

When using the tabs widget, the tabs don’t show correctly like in the theme preview!

The solution is that you need to use anchor tags around the titles of the tabs just like so:
<a href="#">One</a>
The background is that you can also name those anchors like this
<a href="#first">One</a>
which enabled you to call a link that will open that particular tab directly
<a href="#first">Open First Tab</a>

How do I get the sidebar menu to work correctly?

Under appearance -> widgets, add the “ELEGANZA Sidebar Menu” to your pages sidebar.

You can give the widget any title or leave out the title.

Specify a sidebar menu id (1-3), in case you are only using one sidebar menu, just use 1.

Under appearance -> menu, make sure your main navigation (in the top header bar) is named “navigation”. This is already the case if you imported the included theme data.

When creating a new menu for usage as a sidebar menu, name it according to the specified id (pagenavigation1, pagenavigation2 or pagenavigation3).

Add menu items (pages, links) to the sidebar menu. The widget will be populated with the items automatically.
