Oh I see, so instead of categories in the one page above the images, you have sub pages for the different categories – is that correct? I can’t see the large description image with the title unlimited portfolios? or am I just looking in the wrong place?

Also if I wanted to setup a private gallery later on for clients to view their photos, so not public for everyone else to see, is this possible with this theme? it will at some point have an online shopping cart to those images for clients to choose which prints and how many they want.

thanks

jonathan01

The image I was referring to is under the description of the item on the item description page – yes, what you are referring to is a filterable portfolio (links above on same page) we allow you to create a taxonomy for portfolios (anything you like) and that will automatically sort them in to specific pages – just like the web, print, etc

As for securing pages, I’m pretty sure there are free plugins that enable you to password protect any wordpress page so that shouldn’t be an issue, but of course I haven’t tried this. However if you are doing a shopping cart plugin those pages will be created by the shopping cart system (product pages with selectable print sizes and prices etc) and that would be something to ask your shopping cart vendor for password protection.

Many thanks

I love this theme and I love supporting you! Quick question, how can I increase the height of the featured images on the pages? Thanks!

jonathan01

Thanks man – we appreciate it. I’m not sure what you mean by increase the height on the pages? Which page, we don’t actually set a height anywhere, it’s based on the size of the original image uploaded.

treyvancamp

My apologies for the lack of clarity. I wanted my header image to be taller so that I can see the faces in this picture: http://treyvancamp.com/21/

Thank you.

jonathan01

Sure, if you go into style.css (using the same height for all images throughout the theme) find update these classes within the css or within the Custom CSS box in the theme options:

.intro_text_wrapper { height: 463px; margin-top: -695px; position: fixed; width: 100%; } .bdywrapper { margin-top: 800px; position: relative; width: 100%; z-index: 2; }

The inner pages sometimes use a different wrapper, so you may have to update those as you go along as well. :)

Thanks

thanks will take a look, also on the home page, can this have different images, rather than just one static image? so a slider? but going across the whole page – for home page version 1 & 2 like in home page version 3 & 4 – but going completely across the screen.

jonathan01

The slider used is a plugin and since it’s within the content area, it has the content area width.

Thanks

sorry I also should have put, how easy is it to change the theme colours and fonts too? as this doesn’t appear to have this option. sorry for the twenty questions, but need to make sure this theme can do all I need it to do, before i purchase it? Can I find out more information without keep asking you?

jonathan01

There are several color pickers in the theme options, that cover a hole host of options to select colors for. As for the fonts, it’s quite easily done with a find/replace in the style.css.

Thanks

Hi Just bought this theme (love it!) and can’t seem to upload images … is there a plugin needed Thanks Rosie

jonathan01

Hi and thanks for the purchase – when you say you can’t upload images I’m not entirely sure if you mean through WP (that’s a WP feature not the theme) or if you mean the XML import – if you want images to import you have to be admin as per instruction manual – otherwise WP will only import the pages / post but no images as content.

Hope that helps.

But to answer your question, no the theme does not use any plugins for image management (as it should) as WP has this built in.

HI Jonathan, Thanks for the quick reply. When I try to add a background image no option appears to upload. I uploaded it through ftp so possibly a problem with that Rosie

jonathan01

Hi – you upload a background image – as per the instructions – via the media uploader in WP then grab the URL and set that URL in the space provided in the theme options – everything is explained step by step in your instructional PDF help file.

Please also note this is a comment area and not for support – support is provided, as explained in the help file, through the form on my profile page please – thank you.

Many thanks

Hi, can the homepage be set the blog page? Also, can the blog page have a right or left sidebar? Thanks!

jonathan01

The blog page currently is only a full width page, it is easy enough to change, but would depend on your comfort level with php. The home page can’t be the blog page as it pulls in portfolio as well as blog.

Want to buy it today, but before (sorry for the questions, again)

1. Can we create Tables? Like pricing or product tables? similar to this http://cl.ly/image/3t1F150L1D3W

2. In Portfolio Detail Page do this theme have portfolio detail shortcodes? http://cl.ly/image/342z1c1K2D0N http://cl.ly/image/290a0R1b3l2V

3. Is there any sort of “next” or “previous” button on the portfolio detail page?

4. Is it possible at bottom of portfolio detail page a related work? http://cl.ly/image/3B3x0B3s0s2t

jonathan01

Hi

1. Tables, yes, we show this in the live preview.

2. Shortcodes are available throughout the theme regardless to the post type

3. No

4. I’m sure a plugin would do the trick, but it would need to support custom post types (which is what the portfolio is)

Thanks

Thx again for the answers, and sorry for so many questions

Hi Purchased the theme and it’s great – thanks, just one quick question, and its probably really simple, how do you get the quotes to style with a horizontal rule above and below the quote like in the preview? :-)

jonathan01

Thanks for your purchase :) That is the pullquoteleft and pullquoteright shortcode. If you import the XML you will see an example or you can open the shortcode_example_code.txt and look for the pullquote shortcode examples.

Thanks

Hi again. Really love this theme. :) I’m just having a browser issue in FF and Safari on mac, and Chrome/FF on PC. The subheader on internal pages with text/long image is cut off on top, and the rotating slider on the homepage. I wonder if i input something to break the styles, as it’s not an issue on the demo page. I did use html on the page intro box… The only browser it seems correct in is Chrome on a Mac (where I set it up). http://www.thenurturedway.com/ Thanks for input!!

jonathan01

Yeah sounds like possibly something you have added may of broken something – maybe start by stepping back one thing at once to find out what it is causing your issue or possibly use firebug in firefox to find your issue.

Hi,

I just purchased and installed your template and am loving it! So much easier than my previous template.

Just wondering if I can stack the navigation menu vertically rather than have it run horizontally across the page?

jonathan01

Hi and thanks for the purchase – not without some pretty hefty css changes unfortunately – you can certainly attempt this however but you will have a lot of classes to alter to change a horizontal menu with drop downs in to an expanding vertical menu – firebug in firefox browser would be your simplest way of seeing how things are done and their classes etc then alterations to your style.css to override the existing classes.

Thank you

Ok, thanks so much for your reply. I’ll leave it I think. I’m not really up with all the css mumbo-jumbo! ;) Loving the theme all the same so cheers!

Hi,

Whats the maximum width the slider can be?

jonathan01

The width of the wrapper for the page is 980px. So 980px would be your max.

Thanks

Ok so how do I make the image the full width of the screen like your preview? And can I adjust the slider to be the full width?

jonathan01

Hi – we upload a 1200px wide image and set as featured image and the theme will do the rest.

Thanks

hello, your template is very nice, so i would like making a home page like this : https://dl.dropbox.com/u/171372/depot/page%20model.png is it possible for you to make a model page like this screenshot thank’s a lot your work is great. Xavier

jonathan01

Hi and thanks for the purchase, yes you could achieve that look but you will just need to edit one of the home pages supplied to alter things to your specific requirements – unfortunately we already provide 5 home page styles so any particular requirements are up to you to customize.

If you are looking for me to do the alterations and customizations for you I can but obviously I charge an hourly rate – if you would like to discuss then please use the contact form on my profile page which is also the correct area for support as per your directions / help file – many thanks!

hello,

My twitter feed shortcode does not seem to be working. It just keeps saying “loading tweets”. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks Sissel

jonathan01

Sounds like the API may be down from Twitter – if it produces that message it sounds like it’s connecting but not getting anything from them – try using a different twitter name (also ensure you put it in the admin panel correctly as per the instructions) – if you try another account it will tell you if it’s an issue from Twitter or just that original account.

Also make sure your account is public etc and you have recent tweets ;)

Thanks

Hi,

I have tried many different accounts, they all do the same thing….This is the account in question https://twitter.com/stmikesgaa. Please advise.

Thanks, Sissel

jonathan01

Hi as I said it may be an issue with twitters API or the account unfortunately – as it’s fed from Twitter there isn’t a great deal I can do – please also note this is a comment area, not for support – support is offered via the contact form on my profile page as per your instruction manual (has a link also) – if you want to contact me that way with your wordpress admin login details I can make sure you entered things correctly.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply Jonathan. I have set a feature image however can only see a little bit of it. Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong? Is my logo too big or something?

http://www.hollymurphyphotography.com/blog-3/
jonathan01

I’m not even sure what this page is to be honest – so… the picture at the top is that your logo? If so yes that is HUGE :) If that is meant to be a slide however it’s not wide enough and this is not using the home page template (any of them).

I recommend that you look through the documentation, make sure you are selecting the blog template you want to use etc

It may be best to use the comment form on my profile page for support as directed in your help file also – there is a link provided – that way the conversation can be direct and more controlled – thanks!
