Hey Jonathan, Thanks for your help with the last one, that worked, only a little one this time! I have a side menu widget in a left hand col. Would it be possible to hide the sub pages and then on roll over they pop down? Have a lot of sub pages and its gonna get crowded displaying all the sub menu pages. Thank in Advance Jonnie

Hi – I do not believe we received your email – you mention portfolio site however, we don’t have a portfolio site, just the portfolio page here on themeforest (click my avatar).

I just double checked and we are up to date on all requests – can you please send again? As for unique customizations however they would be the responsibility of the buyer I am afraid, you will need to style a unique sidebar unordered list and list items – with hide until however etc – it won’t be the easiest thing in the world to accomplish but if you have css experience you should be able to accomplish this. Maybe there is a plugin available that will allow you to do this with minimum customization?

Can you add retina support for the logo in the next update?

We may look in to this for sure – in the meantime it’s quite easy to do, just set a specific width and height in the logo class in the style sheet then upload an image twice that size.

hmm.. honestly I have never tried anything like that at all unfortunately – you would need to possibly make the logo area in the header php template a registered widget to accept some plugin short code I would of thought?

Sorry I’ve never come across anyone wanting to do this so I really can’t suggest anything specific I’m afraid.

Hi there, thanks for a great theme! I love the style and responsive function! I have a quick question and was wondering if you could help me out.

Hi – I would highly recommend using the firebug plugin in firefox browser – that way you can simply select an element on your page and see the exact css styling along with the line number in the style sheet – you can then alter those values to see what permanent changes to the style.css would do, you may need to alter other classes if adjusting a main div height to accommodate the rest of the items within.

As the header contains other items you will no doubt need to alter those slightly to look correct etc as they are inside the header you wish to customize.

Portfolio is a custom post type using the provided portfolio page template – please refer to your help file which explains for you – If you mean a wordpress gallery then it’s as normal, attach images to the post and insert the gallery in the page as all wordpress themes – if you mean a gallery post format type then create the post and select ‘gallery’ as the post type (again as normal in wordpress) many thanks

Hi – as for your thumbnails on the gallery – that’s created by WordPress and that’s because you aren’t using a standard size for your images in your gallery. They are different heights, so obviously they will be cropped different based on the ratio.

As for the slider navigation, we used a full width page for this in our live preview, but if you would like to keep using the sidebar page, just add this to the custom css box in your theme options / general tab:


.featured_text_left .slider .flex-direction-nav {
width:7%;
}

Anything not in the manual is more than likely not a specific theme process but rather standard wordpress. It is also why we offer XML import so you have an actual duplicate of the live preview which is even easier than reading as you open a page or a post etc to see what we did

Sounds like you are attempting to upload the entire zip file you received from Themeforest which contains many things, not just the theme – unpack – open instructions and follow step-by-step and you should be up and running.

Hi – your images should simply be attached (as per the instructions) not inserted as a WordPress gallery (that would be a WordPress gallery, not a post format of gallery) – maybe try that

Looks like a great theme, but if I’m not mistaken, it doesn’t have a filterable portfolio? I realize you can sort the portfolio items, but on the main portfolio page you can’t sort without making a pick in the top menu?

My problem with that is that it doesn’t show the portfolio categories on touch screen devices. It’s rollover and that’s a shame.

Please tell me I’m mistaken.

Hi – they were still in the queue awaiting to be approved last evening and we didn’t want to update the item description page until it was approved. Only header.php was changed and that was a php call for the primary menu to specify theme location.

Hi, thanks for the great theme. So far it has been pretty well documented, although I do have a couple of questions about the ‘Gallery Post Format’

1) Is it possible to edit the order that the images are displayed in after the have been uploaded? I am following the Documentation (p.52) and not using Soliloquy-lite. At the moment I am having to upload them in reverse order one-at-a-time to achieve my desired effect.

2) Can the gallery controls (next/previous image) be moved to the top of the image gallery, as their current position (at the bottom) resides below the fold and is not visible without scrolling?

Hi and thanks for the purchase – yes, WordPress orders your image, there may be plugins available that let you reorder, but yes, reverse order will no doubt be your easiest way.

You would need to edit the css for the gallery controls to your specific customization – if you use firebug in firefox this will enable you to find the css for the pagination next and previous buttons and then alter the styling via the style.css.

re gallery controls, they don’t function in the latest version of firefox. I thought this may have been an error I made when manipulating the CSS, but after checking your demo page, I can see they no longer appear there either.

I wouldn’t suggest editing the image in WordPress as it’s not going to display your logo in the best possible look. I would edit your logo in Photoshop and then re-upload the logo.

Hi Jonathan, I’m curious about the ability to customize your wp template, which by the way is a great layout.

Can the header be customized? can I change out the ‘dark’ brown’ textured background to something else, easily? or does it require custom css?

In general, are there built in user options to change bg color, font color, and text alignment, etc.

Hi Jonathan, I think the template looks excellent. I am using it to build my first ever website and thanks to your detailed instructions I’m making good progress. One question: can I turn off the ‘social banner’? Because initially my website will not be linked to facebook etc, but I may like to add that in later.

Hi and many thanks for the purchase, happy to hear you are enjoying the theme – if you don’t complete the theme options panel section for the social icons – no links, no characters and no intro text then nothing will appear in that area – just not actually tried removing everything so not sure what you will be left with (maybe we told it to collapse if nothing) – I would try that first and then if you require an alteration I’m sure we can assist you with this – please use the contact form on my profile page for support as per the help file and we will do our best.
