Hi Andre:

I am using the Nivo slider on the homepage, but it isn’t autoplaying. I’ve turned the autoplay feature on and off and on again, but it doesn’t work for Nivo. Autoplay is set for 2000.

Here is the site (in progress): http://hlgtest.com/sansom_site/

Thanks, Jill

Hi Jill,

I think you may have found a bug. I’ll have to update the download. In the mean time, open up header.php and replace the entire code with this: http://pastie.org/pastes/2565525/text

Hi Andre:

I replace the ENTIRE header.php and that didn’t work – the site broke! I put the original header.php back in so it’s OK now.

Was there just a certain part of the header.php I was supposed to swap with the new code?

Thanks, Jill

Whoops! My mistake Jill! Must have been half asleep. I meant replace the entire footer.php with the code. That should fix the problem!

Thanks, that works! The dissolves seem somewhat random – can I choose which type of transition happens?

2winFactor

Hi Jill-

You’ll have to open up custom.js.php and change the transition type under the nivo section. You can change the effect from:

effect: 'random', // Specify sets like: 'fold,fade,sliceDown'
to fold, fade or sliceDown.

Hi your theme is awsome, but you forgot to add a 3d slider, like Cu3er or Piecemaker 2.

Can you add it so I can choose your theme?

Looking forward to your positive answer.

2winFactor

Hi Kimizito-

Although there are 3 different sliders, unfortunately there are no plans to include a 3d slider at this time. This may come in a future update depending on demand. Thanks so much for your suggestion.

Hi Andre:

I’m having an issue with and tags being completely ignored. Is this an issue with using Google fonts? I haven’t seen anything mentioned on their site about using different code.

Thanks, Jill

2winFactor

Hi Jill,

Are you talking about ampersands? I believe some fonts have ampersands and some do not. Also be sure you’re using the correct HTML tag: & amp;

Andre

I’m talking about STRONG and EM tags. I’m using them on pages and in widgeted areas, and they are ignored.

I see they work here – sorry my initial message was so confusing! LOL

2winFactor

Hi Jill-

I’m not sure why they aren’t working? Try adding:

.widget strong {
font-weight:bold;
}

To the custom css box in Site Options > Customize and see if that fixes it.

That fixed it. Thank you for being so responsive to my requests! I really appreciate it.

Hi Andre,

I don’t want the menus that I already attach to a page with the left sidebar template to be available on another page im using the right sidebar template for …

I want to create another set of menus for pages with right sidebar template.

Bottomline, i want pages with left sidebar and that of pages with right sidebar templates to use different menus …

how do I achieve this … ??

2winFactor

Hi Samuel,

You’ll need to create another page template. You can duplicate one that you’re using currently and change the widget area name. Then add the widget area to functions.php.

Does this theme support translation with po/mo files?

Thanks

Hi Samuel,

You’ll need to open functions.php in the theme folder and add the widget area. If you need help with adding widget areas there are a few resources out there that will guide you through. If you need additional help customizing, Tweakmytheme.com or wpquestions.com are great resources.

... did some diggin … but… its fine now… thanks for the tip .

But i have a question about the third level submenu position … its overlapping a little over the second level menu…

please where in the css can I make changes to positioning .. .i want to to move more to the right …??

Which menu are you talking about? Which page is it on?

Since you changed the width of the ”.sf-menu ul” you’ll need to change the left offset of the submenus to match. Try adding:
ul.sf-menu li li:hover ul,
ul.sf-menu li li.sfHover ul,
ul.sf-menu li li li:hover ul,
ul.sf-menu li li li.sfHover u {
    left:           175px; /* match ul width */
}

You may have to play around with the positioning but that’s the css.

Hi Andre:

Great theme. I put it up here: http://bastsolutions.com

I’m having an issue with the tabs. You should notice that the tab content is actually being displayed in the wrong place (under the tabs).

Do you have any idea how I can fix this?

Thank you, Gabe

2winFactor

Hi Gabe-

I certainly do. Be sure to add the tab shortcode to a full homepage widget area so it has room to expand the width of the entire page.

Hi Andre,

Please I want to be able to bring the page content body closer to the right sidebar .. the same on page having the left sidebar. as in closing up the space between the sidebar and the body content on pages ….

You can look here …

Hi Samuelson,

You’ll need to change the main content div, I believe from grid_8 prefix_1 to grid_9 on all the pages you want to adjust. You can refer to the grid system portion of the documentation for more information.

Hi Andre,

I am trying to incorporate icons into a text box widget.

Here is a link to sample screen shots imgur.com/a/tx7FG

The first image is what I have managed to do and the second one is a mockup of what I would like it to look like.

Is there a way I can do this?

Best regards,

Josh

2winFactor

Hi Josh,

You’ll need to create a separate div for the icons and float them left. You may be able to use shortcodes for this. Try this:

[one_fourth]Icon[/one_fourth] [three_fourth_last]<p>A widget that displays the latest post(s) from a category.</p>[/three_fourth_last]

[one_fourth]Icon[/one_fourth] [three_fourth_last]<p>A widget that displays the latest post(s) from a category.</p>[/three_fourth_last]

[one_fourth]Icon[/one_fourth] [three_fourth_last]<p>A widget that displays the latest post(s) from a category.</p>[/three_fourth_last]

Andrew,

Thanks so much for that it worked!

One more thing, how do I get rid of the frame around the icons?

Cheers,

Josh

2winFactor

I’m not sure what’s causing the frame. Do you have a url you can send me so I can take a look?

Hi Andre:

The site is live, and my client is really happy. I have one issue I can’t resolve, though – neither the contact form page nor the Custom Quick Contact Widget seem to be working. They should both come to my email address, but I haven’t received any of my tests. Maybe I’m missing something somewhere.

When they do work, do I need to create a “thanks I’ll get back to you” page? Is that the URL I would put in under “Contact Page URL ” in the widget?

The site is www.dianesansom.com, let me know what other information you need from me.

Thanks as always, Jill

2winFactor

Hi Jill,

So sorry to hear about the issue. Any chance you can set me up temporarily with an admin account so I can take a look?

Thanks! Andre

Hi Andre,

I don’t because it’s behing a “we are coming soon page”...

It’s just the theme’s standard css frame style, is there code I can type in to stop this from happening?

Cheers,

Josh

2winFactor

Hi Josh-

I believe you can enter the following into the custom css box of the options panel:

 .sidebar .widget img {
background: none;
padding: 0;
border:none;
box-shadow: none;
}

Let me know if that overwrites the frame css in the icons.

Hi Andre:

I want to change the content of the page that shows up after the contact form has been submitted (the one from the Contact page). Which file do I need to access to do that?

Thanks, Jill

2winFactor

Hi Jill,

The contents of that are in the template-contact.php file. You’ll need to open that file (either in a text editor or in Appearance > Editor). If you search the file, you should see that phrase. You can change it to whatever you like.

Additionally, I’ll see if I can include this in a upcoming update to include this in the options panel.

Thanks Jill,

Andre

Hi Andre,

I just had to add a few styles rules to the code you posted to get it working this is what it looked like.

.latest img, #tabs .panel img, img.frame, .sidebar .widget img, .featuredimage img, .frame {
background: none;
padding: 0;
border:none;
box-shadow: none;
}

The only problem is that it got rid of the frames across all the images on the site which I didn’t want to happen.

I worked out how to do it using some inline CSS as follows:

[one_fourth]

<img title="address" src="image source path" alt="address" style="border:none; background:none; padding: 0; box-shadow: none;" />

[/one_fourth]

[three_fourth_last]

<p>
Our Address
</p>

[/three_fourth_last]

Even though this works I have heard it is not a clean or reliable way to do things what do you think?

Cheers,

Josh

2winFactor

Hi Josh,

Inline CSS IS fully valid code. However, if you want to include something special in your style sheet (that you can use over and over) you can give this image a class (i.e. class=”noframe). Then in your custom css box, add the css:

img.noframe {
border:none; background:none; padding: 0; box-shadow: none;
}

over 3 months since the last update, is 1.5 ever coming?

2winFactor

Hi Stan,

Yes, it’s coming. Very close but not yet. Still ironing out a few bugs in between support questions and some other projects. So far the next update will have support for non-google fonts, footer widget style fixes, and some shortcode bug fixes within specific widgets. Any other last minute feature requests?

Andre

stan68

Hi Andre, that’s good to hear. Another feature I would like to see is flexible footer widget areas instead of the 3 fixed columns. For example, so it would be possible to have say between 1 and 4 columns, and so you could have a choice of 2 columns of 2/3rd and 1/3rd width. What do you think?

2winFactor

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll see what I can do without delaying things too much.

Andre
