Common WordPress Installation Issues

Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a “Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

I get message “Stylesheet is missing” while uploading the theme. What Can I do?

This happens because you have to unzip Package file first as it contains several other files like documentation, sample contents, etc… Once unzipped, choose epic.zip file for upload and it will go without any issues.

I get an error with e-mails not being sent

Please re-download the theme. The latest update addresses this issue. If the problem still remains, make sure you have set existing e-mail address from admin panel.

I can’t make slider work all I see in the homepage is the latest blog posts.

You have to set a static page for the home page. To do this, refer to FAQ section of the documentation, Question 1.

Is there a sample contents file available with the theme so I can get it look like in the demo.

Yes, it’s the file sample_contents.xml which comes with the download package. Read the “installation” section of the documentation for a detailed guide on how to import it.

When I set up the social buttons, some icons are not showing. What I’m doing wrong?

When using predefined icons (the ones which are available on demo), make sure you write the name with lowercase. (e.g. [social_button name=”facebook”] and not [social_button name=”Facebook”])

I can’t get my images on 3D slider to work correctly. What is the exact size I should use to make it display images nicely?

The latest update of the theme provides an option to set the desired 3D slider image size. Just go to Epic => General Settings => Sliders =>3D Slider on your admin panel and set corresponding height/width parameters.

I want all my links to show in orange (red, black, whatever), what should I do?

To override any style which is not available from Epic => Styles panel, just add the corresponding class name and the value. To make sure it will work, add !important at the end of the parameter (e.g. .someclass{color:#fff !important}). If the dark theme is set, make sure you make necessary modifications also in skins/dark/style.css file.

Can I get the PLUGIN_NAME_HERE plugin get integrated with Epic easily?

Epic is developed with best practices of compatibility with third-party plugins in mind. If some problems occur implementing any plugin, means either the plugin is not written according standards or additional customization is needed to integrate it succesfully

What is the recommended size for the galleria (default) slider?

it’s 1350×600 pixels

Does Epic Work on Iphone/Ipad/other mobile devices? Is it responsive?

Epic works and looks nice on these devices (check the Epic page screenshot), but it can’t be called responsive as it doesn’t use any media queries or whatsoever. We call it pseudo-responsive.

How can I make the Galleria slider center on resize?

Open “css/galleria-classic.css, go to .galleria-container { and add:
margin:auto;
