I am a photographer, so I’m interested in a fullscreen, responsive theme, so I came across yours. I see you have the Ken Burns effect in your theme. Can the speed with which the image zooms in or out be adjusted? Also, the speed of the fade?
The zoom effect lasts as long as the slide timeout. E.g. If you set the timeout for 10 seconds it will zoom for 10 seconds. You can choose other effects like slide, fade only and a couple more.
Hi! Where is the admin page:
“1. Yes, simply switch auto hide menu to off within the page admin options.” ... to turn of the nav bar and keep it fixed?
Great theme – thanks.
My apologies, Appearance > Theme Options > Header.
I have some problems with the gallery. First, not all images will be displayed in the gallery. They can not be made larger. It opens a new tab The black / white function does not work or is not displayed. And I see no icons to enlarge the photo.
I would like to have the original gallery of your “Grid Preview”.
Please help me.
Can you please post your URL onto the Help Center @ http://help.themeva.com – support will take a look for you.
It doesn’t sound like normal behaviour – maybe worth trying to disable your plugins to see if any are conflicting.
Also, the icons to enlarge an image is the “lightbox” option – you can enable this on the Gallery page options. Did you install the demo data?
Hey, thanks for your fast replay. I have answerd in the forum.. look here. http://help.themeva.com/groups/epix-support-group/forum/topic/galery-problem/
Hi, I’m really interested in your theme for my photography. If possible, I’d like to see some examples of what other photographers have done with the theme to see if its a fit for me. I also have a few questions:
Can the fonts be changed on the menu and page?
Can the home page just have text with some photos added here and there?
Is there an option to not display text with the galleries?
When someone clicks on blog, can it go to another blog themed website?
And is there a way to have a Facebook icon on the menu instead of the box with arrow? I feel like people wouldn’t know to click on it to go to my Facebook page.
Thanks in advance!
I’d have to ask a few of the users first to see if I can post them on here – here is one I’ve asked: http://chasinglens.com/
And a different use of the theme: http://firststepscount.org/
1. Yes they can via the live customizer.
2. Yep, here is an example of an alternative home page: http://epix.themeva.com/home-classic/
3. Yes there is.
4. You can add manual links to the menu and they can link wherever you like.
5. Yes, there is an option to not have the share icon and display the actual social icon instead. So the facebook icon can be visible all the time.
Happy New Year!
Thanks so much for your quick response! This helps!
I’m try to play with the carroussel feature.
I’ve added one, but I would like to have the image description in the lightbox, and it’s not appearing.
Any chance to get it ?
Please use the Help Center @ http://help.themeva.com for support.
Are you using the Slide Set Manager, if you – you would have to manually insert the Title / Description. However I’m looking to change this in the near future.
I am extremely impressed with this theme. Can I use other plugins with this theme? Specifically, I’d like to use PaidMemberships Pro and an Appointment Calendar plug in.
Lastly, does your gallery support comments? If not, can I use a plugin that DOES on one page, and your impressive image displays on others?
Yep, it should work absolutely fine with both plugins.
You can add comments to all pages – includes the pages with a gallery, if you want it individually for just certain pages, I’ll be happy to help you achieve that. All you need to do is post onto the Help Center.
Kinda new here. In full screen gallery is there a way to display photos in portrait mode? Most of my work is portrait and in full screen it cuts top and bottom. If not in full screen how about other gallery configurations?
By default it’s designed to fill the screen – however, there are a couple of classes you can add to the Slide / Post ( CSS Classes Field ) that allows the image to scale by height or width.
Add the class fit_height for portrait and fit_width for landscape.
If you get stuck, please post onto the Help Center @ http://help.themeva.com and support will help you out.
i want to buy this theme, could you please tell me how i can get support if i am stuck somewhere setting up the theme?
Yes, 100%! I have a dedicated support site here: http://help.themeva.com
As long as you’re familiar with WordPress and have an installation ready to go, you should be absolutely fine.
Hello! This theme is looking very promising! I have two questions…
2. Is see that in the home page (Home classic) content is loading when scrolling down the page. This is for speed optimization? I mean does the theme lazyload the rest of the content?
It is very optimized – checkout the pingdom score below, the home page loads in 845ms and isn’t using any hard caching.
I hope that helps?
Ok thanks! One more question! Does woocomerce come with it or we have to buy it separately?
You don’t have to buy woocommerce – you simply download it from WP Admin > Plugins > Add New > Search for Woocommerce. done.
So if i download it will look exactly like the one on the theme? No extras?
Yep, no extras needed. All you need to do is add your products.
Thank you very much! I will buy this theme! It looks great!
Hi! I have a problem when i activate the visual composer plugin. The problem is this below. It appears at the top of the page. Can you help me please? Thank You
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘param_name’ in /home/deman422/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/composer/lib/mapper.php on line 71
Warning: Illegal string offset ‘param_name’ in /home/deman422/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/composer/lib/mapper.php on line 73
No problem, I have spoken with the Visual Composer developers about this before – you can find the fix below and will be fixed in the next version.
Perfect! Thank U!
Love the theme, But I have problem with the demo. It does not upload the content (Photos you mentin etc) it just uploads the menu. So I am kinda clueless as in what to do form thereon. How can I fix this?
FYI-Just deleted theme and installed it through Envato but still no improvments.
Did you click the install demo content via Appearance > Theme Options > Getting Started?
It won’t give you the photographs, as stated they’re copyrighted images and are not allows to be re-distributed. But you should have holding images and the demo site content?
If that still doesn’t work, please post your WP login details onto the Help Center @ http://help.themeva.com.
Thanks for the response. I know it wont give me photos on the activeview demo but I dont have anyhting, no place holders nothing. I already posted on the help center,
Here’s the link: http://help.themeva.com/groups/epix-support-group/forum/topic/private-epix-support-demo-problem/
Seems that the problem is solved for now! I deleted and installed the wordpress again. Thanks for the response though!
Congratulations for this theme. I search a lot of wordpress theme, more than 100, and this is the best one !
I still have some questions :
- I need to replace the google maps in the contact section with a single image. How to do wihtout border ( the google maps is full width, from the menu sidebar on the left to the right limit of the your epix demo website ).
- I want to know how to add a list ( with the f105 Unicode Character ) in the reveal toogle ( I can do that with the tabs, but not with the reveal toogle ).
- how to extract the background of the tabs section ( in order to only have the title in green, not the little background around ).
Sorry for my english.
Thanks a lot, and an happy new year to you.
Thank you, I’m glad you like it!
- If you edit the row that contains the image, you can add the class : no-margin-sides ( this is the same class used on the map row ) and will pin the image to the sides.
- Unfortunately you can’t add a Unicode to toggle, you can add any of the icons on font awesome e.g. fa-magic
- I’m not sure what you mean by this. Can you post a link onto the Help Center and support will investigate for you.
Thanks for last update. Fullscreen Background Image resizing is great, and so wide width option. I’m very glad with this Theme. Like you reply to another comment : “I may add the option to highlight over a menu icon in the future if it’s requested enough”, I would like this too and so, option for hiding menu on all pages…
Thanks again for your nice work.
I’m still working out the logistics, however, it is in progress. I think a thin bar down the left with a menu icon in to trigger the menu out is what I’m aiming for.
This solution seems great, but anyway, but there is the logo problem… collapsing with sidebar menu ? This Theme works like that, may be an idea…
A perfect template! I spent an awful lot of time looking and this is fantastic! One question, I’m trying to install the latest update through the envato tool kit and it gives me an error saying the folder already exists at the target directory. If I manually install I don’t want to lose my custom colours or any other settings. Any comments?
That’s strange, if should allow you to upgrade. If it’s not a temporary issue, yes you can upload the new version over the existing and no affect the colours etc.
Great theme, thanks a lot!
I have a few questions:
1) Is it possible to have a static menu, which does NOT move back and forth?
2) Is it possible to have social media icons displayed above the navigation menu without that the user needs to click on the icon with the arrow (which then shows the social media icons)?
3) Is it possible to add logos under the menu?
1) Yes, simply disable the auto-hide menu in the page options
2) Yep, just disable the share icon via Appearance > Theme Options > Social Media tab.
3) You can add a logo manually with the latest version, using a text widget in the Sidebar Menu Panel area in Appearance > Widgets.
Great, thanks for the answers! However, I made I mistake. With question 3) what I wanted to ask is if it is possible to add social media icons under the menu (so that the social media icons are displayed in the navigation bar, under the menu)
Another question: it it possible to have the homepage that is not full-width? I have a client, who is a photographer and would prefer the pictures in the homepage to be displayed in their normal size and NOT full-width (the demo has full-width pictures, I wonder if one can have normal size pics)
Sorry, where do I find the page options to disable the auto-hide for the nav menu?
Yes, with the latest version you can copy and paste the short code ( generate with the visual composer and switch to classic view to see the short code ) and paste into Appearance > Widgets > Menu Sidebar Panel.
Yep, you can use any page as the home page ( Settings > Reading > Home Page ). Use the stage gallery instead of a Full Width Gallery.
I hope that helps, if you need any further assistance, please use the Help Center @ http://help.themeva.com
Thanks a lot! I still haven’t found the “page option” you talked about to disable the auto-hide menu… Where do I find that?
It should be in Page > Add Gallery > Auto hide menu.
Just installed theme and uploaded dummy content, but am getting these errors:
Warning: DOMDocument::loadXML(): Empty string supplied as input in /data/16/3/142/126/3305289/user/3688882/htdocs/WordPress/wp-content/themes/ePix/lib/inc/classes/slideset-class.php on line 154

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
That error suggests you have slidesets selected but not actual slide set. If you’re using the Pages > Add Gallery, goto the data source and select a slide set.
Thanks. I did that and now I’m getting this error:
Warning: DOMDocument::loadXML(): Empty string supplied as input in /data/16/3/142/126/3305289/user/3688882/htdocs/WordPress/wp-content/themes/ePix/lib/inc/classes/slideset-class.php on line 76

Everything seems to be working now thanks!
Ok great, if you require any further help just post onto the Help Center @ http://help.themeva.com.
I have quick question to make sure that the theme would work fine for my needs.
Is it possible to use the gallery as a portfolio the links to actual single pages? So far in the demo I only see pictures galleries with lighbox, but I would like to have the used clicking to an image and being redirected to the corresponding project page instead of opening the image in a lightbox windows.
Thanks a lot.
Yes, you can link to posts, portfolio posts, pages and any other URL you need. I hope that helps?
Thanks a lot for the help
I decided to buy your theme and so far I’m really pleased with it
I noticed one thing with the grid gallery in full with: if the browser it’s on full window the grid doesn’t fill up the screen. As soon as I make the browser window small it works as it should. I’m assuming this is not how it’s supposed to work, any idea what it could be?
One more question: for the gallery (or any image really) is it possible to have the click-able area being the entire image and not just the small icon in the middle? I like having the icon visible but I would like the user to be able to click anywhere to activate the link.
Thanks and congratulations for the nice job on the theme
That’s strange, what browser are you using? Does it do the same on the demo too?
This has been requested recently and I’m going to implement for the next version.
Hi, I’ve tested it on Chrome and Firefox. Yes it does the same on the demo so you should be able to notice the same behavior on your demo site.
Let me know if I can help perhaps with some screenshots and if you want me to post on the support forum.
Does the demo do it for you now? I believe it was the 1px border on the right. I’ve added a bit of CSS to disable in full width.
If that works for you, please post onto the Help Center @ http://help.themeva.com and I’ll post up the CSS and where to place it. I’ll be in the next version regardless.
Working now on the demo website, thanks a lot for the help. I’m going to post now on the help center.
im a photographer for Brazil, and start a new site on wordpress.com.
I wanna now, if it is possible install this kind of themes on wordpres.com, or if i need download the wordpress.
I mean, the wordpres downloaded.
Unfortunately not, you require a hosted version of WordPress instead.
You plan to include in future updates galleries with password?
If you insert galleries via the Visual Composer, you can set a password for the page. I’ll extend it to cover all galleries in the near future.
I am interested in purchasing this theme for a client who is a photographer. However, we want the ability to show private galleries and let customers select which images they want to purchase and what size they want to purchase. Is this theme compatible with plugins that incorporate this? Do you offer this in your software? Thank you.
With wordpress, you can set passwords on each page, therefore you can add certain products / galleries ( using the visual composer at this stage ) to a page and then set a password.
With regards to the sizes, yes – these variations can be added via the Woocommerce plugin ( The demo is using the woocommerce plugin ) and this is free to download via the WordPress admin.
