Hi there!

I’ve several problems using the theme admin panel in Mac OsX Lion. The thickbox it’s not showing correctly in options like “custom logo”, “custom footer logo”... options with upload button.

Please solve this because I can’t properly customize this great theme.

Thanks.

onioneye

Hey there! :)

That seems awfully weird. You’re the first person who reported having this problem.

May I get your login credentials, via email, so I can check things for myself? Also, can you tell me which WordPress version are you currently running?

Have a nice day,

Credentials sent!

onioneye

Excellent!

I’m not sure if I accidentally reported my own comment as inappropriate, but I was saying that it’s really weird that you’re experiencing this, and that you’re the first person to have reported having this problem.

Will check out your site as soon as possible,

OnionEye

What plug-in did you use for the “Contact” form on the Live Preview?

onioneye

Hi,

I didn’t use any plugins for the contact form. I made it myself. :)

Awwww.. it’s so perfect. It’s not included in the theme is it?

onioneye

Thanks! Yes, it is included as a shortcode, so you can use it anywhere you like. :)

Awesome work, OnionEye!

I have a question about the site display on iOS (so far I checked iPhone and iPad). The site shifts to the right and is cut off from the view. I know how to adjust the size of the main wrapper in CSS , it helps a bit, but I would prefer to stay with the given frame, I really like it as it is now, but somehow I’d like to add a code that would fix the above mentioned issue. Here’s my site (although it happens on the live preview as well): www.igorlipinski.com

Looking forward to hearing from you.

And again, other than that, I truly enjoy it.

How do you get the “Contact Form” to pop up anywhere like that?

NEVERMIND ! I found it!

Thank you again for an awesome theme. =)

I’m getting an error on my portfolio:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/64/5995864/html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/equilibrium2/single-portfolio.php on line 24

NEVERMIND ! There needs to be category assigned. I figured it out. Thank you!. =)

Hi Onioneye,

Great theme so far!

The only little issue I’m having is that the Google maps shortcode doesn’t show up.

I’m not sure what may be causing this, because I do see a “gap” for it, but I don’t actually see the map.

Hope you can help.

onioneye

Hey there,

Glad you like the theme! :)

Does the shortcode work now? If not, please give me the link to the page where the gmap should be showing and the actual shortcode you used in the WordPress content editor.

Have a nice day,

Hi,

No matter what I do, I am unable to see my portfolio images.

I’ve added them with the categories, at the correct dimensions and all of that and they simply do not show up.

Can you help me figure out the cause of this please?

:(

onioneye

Fixed.

Me again…still trying to find out the problem to the missing images on my theme.

If it is any help, I checked if there was GD support on my server, and there is.

A screenshot can be seen here: http://cl.ly/2e0R2L1I2k1h3T1w3E3r

So…..I am still completely lost.

The thing is, I do sort of see like the outline of the image at times, but the image just will not appear normally.

Really frustrating that I can’t figure it out but really hoping you’ll help me solve this. :’(

onioneye

Fixed.

I figured out the problem with the wrong width display on iOS devices. I added the following code to my meta tags in the header:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=1100" />

I also (which wasn’t so much related to my first question) added webkit to CSS :

body { -webkit-text-size-adjust: none; }

Thanks to that trick (which I’m not sure if it’s good or bad), my fonts look the same way as on the computer display. Otherwise, they were blown up out of the proportion.

Anyways, just wanted to submit those tips to anyone who had similar issues.

onioneye

Hey there,

Sorry for not getting to you a bit earlier. I usually reply within the first 24 hours, but I had to leave the town this weekend, and I wasn’t able to work. That being said, I wish to thank you for sharing the useful code. I might include it in the next update, if I decide to optimize the site for mobile devices.

Have a wonderful day,

Okay, so I have finally fixed my problem, sort of.

The theme did not come with a cache folder, and so I had to add one.

However, now that my images show, I am still experiencing a problem with the slider on the portfolio page. If there is only one photo, it will display it.

However, when there is two photos or more, the slider loads forever, and does not actually display the images.

I think, I will leave this one up to you :)

onioneye

Hey there! :)

Can you give me a link to your homepage and your login credentials, so I can inspect things by myself?

Oh, and sorry for not getting to you sooner. I usually reply within 24 hours, but I was out of town this weekend. I hope you don’t mind. :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Is it possible to have posts show up in the grid of images on the front page instead of projects?

onioneye

Hi,

Yes, it is possible, but you have to adjust the code a bit, in the template-home.php file, to achieve your desired scenario. If you have some experience with WordPress and php, you should be able to do it fairly easily. Otherwise, I suggest hiring a developer to do this for you quickly and cheaply.

I figured out that I need to add the lightbox code to the theme….but how is this done? Do I do this in wordpress? Or through my FTP ?

And also, what is the point of uploading the images on the portfolio page if I will seemingly have to use the type of code on the No Margin for Error page?

If ANYONE at all can help me that would be great, I’ve been trying for two days now, to get this theme to work.

onioneye

You only need to activate the lightbox scripts in the Theme Options panel and include a single line of code in one of the portfolio templates, to make the lightbox work on portfolio items. That being said, for what images do you want to use the lightbox?

Please do the following: send me an email at zlatan@onioneye.com with all of your questions because I see that you have many of them. It will be a lot easier for us to communicate that way.

Facebook Open Graph Images

I am working on getting images to display on Facebook when someone shares or likes an article. Images in custom post types are always hard to get to show up. And because the portfolio items lack an except do is a description. Here is my progress:

Images:

In my functions.php I added this code (needs work help):

/* Facebook Open Graph Image */
function get_fbimage() {
  $src = wp_get_attachment_image_src( get_post_thumbnail_id($post->ID), '', '' );
  if ( has_post_thumbnail($post->ID) ) {
    $fbimage = $src[0];
  } else {
    global $post, $posts;
    $fbimage = '';
    $output = preg_match_all('/<img.+src=[\'"]([^\'"]+)[\'"].*>/i',
    $post->post_content, $matches);
    $fbimage = $matches [1] [0];
  }
  if(empty($fbimage)) {
    $fbimage = "http://fidoloves.com/profile.jpg";
  }
  return $fbimage;
}

Then in my header i have added the Facebook declaration:

<html xmlns:og="http://ogp.me/ns#" dir="ltr" xmlns:fb="http://www.facebook.com/2008/fbml" lang="en-US" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
</html>

and to call the image as well as other data:

<!-- Open Graph API -->
      <meta property="fb:page_id" content="my page id number" />
    <meta property="fb:app_id" content="my app id" />
    <meta property="fb:admins" content="my admin" />
    <meta property="og:locality" content="Boston" />
    <meta property="og:region" content="MA" />
    <meta property="og:country-name" content="USA" />
    <meta property="og:title" content="<?php the_title(); ?>" />
    <meta property="og:description" content="<?php if ( function_exists('wpseo_get_value') ) {echo wpseo_get_value('metadesc');} ?>" />
    <meta property="og:url" content="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" />
    <meta property="og:image" content="<?php echo get_fbimage(); ?>" />
    <meta property="og:type" content="<?php if (is_single() || is_page()) { echo "article"; } else { echo "website";} ?>"/>
    <meta property="og:site_name" content="Fido Loves" />

the meta property calls for the .fbimage set in functions. How would I adapt the functions file to find the images in portfolio?

The initial code is from Yoast as I use his SEO plugin. To get around the lack of a portfolio excerpt it calls for the excerpt of the SEO . It really should be a if there is no except then get the sep excerpt, but I have not figured out how to write that either.

Hopefully someone will help fill in the blanks and hopefully this will help yet someone else…

onioneye

Hey there, Jay!

Thanks for sharing useful code, once again! That is so nice of you. :)

I’m sure you’ll stumble upon an answer, if you keep googling about how to get the images to display on Facebook.

Sincerely,

I wish it was easy, but this is not. There are so many ways to handle images particularly with custom post types. Facebook is the largest image sharing website in the world. It is impossible to ignore the importance of our own websites making use of the Facebook infrastructure. It is certainly my number one referee next to google searches.

I have not made any headway searching for a solution, partly because of the way images are handled. But I am close. I gave up on the function.php solution, although I have a feeling that was the better answer.

 <meta property="og:image" content="<?php if (is_single() || is_page()) { echo $preview_img_url = eq_get_the_preview_img_url(); } else { echo "http://fidoloves.com/profile.jpg";} ?>"/>

is what I am working with now. I have inserted this in the header with the other og:metadata. It pulls images for the custom post type and defaults back to my default image, but now blog posts are broken. How would I get this to pull the featured image from the blog posts, the portfolio preview image from the portfolio item and default to the default image for pages without images.

It would be easier if the portfolio items made use of the wordpress fettered image. I even tried to find where you blocked the ability to set a featured image in portfolio-tems but could not find a way to add the function.

Hi again,

There was a slider in your demo, for the recent articles section on the home page—how do I enable that?

Also, when I click on the thumbnails, they do not lead to the articles they belong to.

Really having a bit of problem just to get this theme up and running—would really like some help from anyone at all at this point.

Please please please,

rumi

onioneye

Hey rumi,

You can enable the latest articles section under the “Homepage Settings” tab of the Theme Options panel.

As far as the thumbnails are concerned, how are you setting them?

Once again, I apologize for not getting to you sooner. I usually reply within 24 hours, but I wasn’t able to work over the weekend, so I couldn’t answer your questions.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi there, Just purchased the template and also, am having problem on how to activate the slider image and recent article? I’ve already uploaded an image at the slider and once it’s done, i click on my wordpress page, the slider doesnt appear? Is there any button or steps? I tried to browse at the theme option and there’s only option to disable the slider.

Here’s my website, please take a look. http://sulhan.com/wordpress/

It will be glad if you can assist me on this. Thanks!

onioneye

Hey there,

As far as I can see, you haven’t setup the homepage in the first place. In case you removed it in the meantime, you should update the theme to the newest version, to have the slider display an image even when there’s only one slide included.

Have a great day,

Hi, really nice theme. Easy decision to invest my money on!

A couple of questions -

I have been able to widen the homepage/slider to 1000px wide from the 940 width, however, could you help me with what the proper changes and spacing that needs to be implemented for the latest posts, latest articles and the bottom widgets so they will align appropriately on the left and right margins for the change to 1000px? I would presume I would just make margin adjustments in the css, but if you could tell me where in the css and what the proper margin #’s would be that would be wonderful.

2. Also, when changing the background pattern to another pattern, even though I have saved the pattern after switching to another, it is not showing up when reloading the homepage, anything I need to do/try to remedy this?

Thank you!

I am still having issues with not being able to change the background pattern. I even tried re-installing on a new database with no other plugins installed and I can neither choose from the default patterns included with the theme nor can I upload my own background of choice.

I have emptied/cleared the cache and even tried seeing if there were any effective results in chrome and safari and it was still a no go. Any idea on what to try – are there any permission settings I would need to change etc? Thank you!

onioneye

Hey,

Please follow the directions given in the “Permissions Of Dynamic Files That Contain Your Theme‚Äôs Javascript And CSS ” section of the docs, and report to me if that works.

Boom! Thanks for the advice Onioneye, after taking a look at things, it became a bit more clear in the documentation as it was a mod_security issue – Specifically, the issue was the wordpress plugin “Bulletproof Security”. Once I turned it off, everything kicked in. I appreciate the help mate. Hopefully this may help others as well.

Also, how do I duplicate the home template to use for other pages, but not have the latest articles and latest projects from appearing on the duplicated template? Cheers!

onioneye

To achieve this, you need to copy the template-home.php file, and give it another name, such as “template-slider.php”. Once you have done that, open the copied file in your preferred text editor and change the name of the template to something other than “home”, or any other existing template names. After that is done as well, delete the following lines of code: 57-202.

Hi Onioneye,

I would like to duplicate the full width template as well as template portfolio 3, I have followed your instructions to change the file name as well as the template name within the file, but is there anything specific I need to delete in these files as well as I know you suggested to delete lines of code for the home template.

Thanks!

The email form is embedding it’self into the page, not popping out like yours…. what am I doing wrong ? All the documentation was spot on, but a bit shady over the email form as there is nothing.

Apart from that the theme is crisp and I love it !

onioneye

Hey there,

Glad you like the theme. :)

As far as the contact form is concerned, have a look at the “Popup Modal Contact Form” section of the docs, and you’ll figure out how to easily add a link in the menu, for a contact form that opens in a modal window.

Have a nice day,

I need my reading glasses, thanks again all sorted now.

I am trying to add content to the home page as I need some other information on there, but I am having real trouble doing it, could you please tell me what I need to do ? I am trying to get it in between the projects and articles.

Cheers

Steve

onioneye

No worries. Sometimes I get carried away as well, while I’m reading, and I miss the important stuff. :)

As far as the custom content on the homepage is concerned, just open the template-home.php file in your preferred text editor, and put the text, wrapped in HTML element/elements, right below the following piece of code:

<!-- END .latest-projects -->

After you have done all that, you should be good to go. :)

By the way, if it’s not too big of a problem, can you spend a few seconds of your time to rate the Equilibrium theme on your downloads page?

Thanks!

OnionEye

I just downloded and tried to install them and it says it couldnt install because the style sheet is missing. can you please help me out?

onioneye

Hey there!

Thanks for buying the theme. :)

You weren’t supposed to upload the whole zipped folder you got, when you bought the theme, but just the “equilibrium” folder, found inside of the main folder.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi, I wish to get change the title of “Latest project” on the front page and “back to portfolio” on the portfolio pages. Can you advice how to do it. Cheers.

onioneye

Hey,

Thanks for buying the theme. :)

To change the two titles, open the template-home.php and single-portfolio.php files, found in the theme files, and change the titles to whatever you please.

Have a great day,
