Hi there, thanks for the response – I did what you suggested but the preview image still shows as a question mark. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling wordpress to my host etc. and adding new files I have still been having this problem. Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Hi there,

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this might cause you, but I just noticed that you don’t have the purchase tag. Since I only offer support via accounts, with which the theme has been bought, I’m going to need you to login with that account, and send me an email via the contact form on my profile page, or post your questions here. Once you do that, I will be more than happy to help you out.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi OnionEye,

I’ve a question for you… I would like to change the icons on the top of the theme (for example Facebook or Twitter Icon).... it’s possible? I want to insert mail icon for example. It’s also possible change the images of the icon?

BYE , Daniele.

onioneye

Hi Daniele,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as your question goes, after making your icons, and uploading them to the /equilibrium/images/layout/ directory, you should modify the following files:

theme-functions.php (the “eq_social_networks” function) options.php (add the options for your new fields; the mail field, for example).

By the way, this is most definitely a task for a developer.

Hi Onioneye, we hope u’re fine. We just bought (second time) your Equilibrium theme (now it is more expensive than last year… ;) ) apart of that we are now doing some personalization for a customer. Because of that this time we decided to use child theme. Everything seems to work fine except that background properties (so custom.php) in the child theme do not change effectively depending on the chosen data available. We already checked permissions and all seems to be fine but the only way to change a pattern is to change it in the parent theme and then copy the custom.php file in the child directory. Do you have any idea why this is happening? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Kind regards 404gang (Luca & Enzo)

onioneye

Hi there again, the 404gang!

I’m doing great! Hope you two are doing the same, if not even better. :)

When it comes to the child themes in Equilibrium, please follow these directions, to make them behave properly:

1) Put the following functions file in your child theme directory (feel free to add your own custom functions in the file, if you have any): http://ge.tt/69alzXG/v/0?c

2) Copy the following folders from the parent theme directory to the child theme directory: images, styles, and function-includes.

By the way, thanks for buying the theme again for your new project. It is more expensive now because Envato rose the prices for all items, just recently, mainly due to the ever-rising complexity in the design and development field.

Hi there,

thanks for your reply. We already did what you suggest (downloaded functions.php file as per a previuous suggestion to another user, then copied images, styles and function-includes directories) but this problem is happening in the theme options only for the background pattern.. Any additional suggestion? Thanks a lot.

Sincerely 404gang (Luca & Enzo)

Hi there,

you are very much welcome. Please override the “eq_custom_css” function, in your child theme’s functions.php file. It should contain the same code as the original function, found in the dynamic-js-and-css-files.php template file, except for the following line of code, which should contain a full, absolute link to your child theme’s custom.php:

$file = get_theme_root() . '/' . get_template() . '/styles/custom.php';

That should do it.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hey! I just upgraded my site ( http://bombsfall.com ) to WP 3 .4. Suddenly the text buttons such as “Back to Portfolio” and “View All” are displaying @ symbols behind the text. Also newly uploaded projects will not display images. Ideas?

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as the @ symbols go, this has absolutely nothing to do with the new version of WordPress, which is 100% compatible with the theme, but rather with the new version of the Chrome browser, which has problems with rendering the “arrow” HTML character entity. I’m going to look into this today, and see if I can change the existing entity to some other one, that will display properly across all major browsers.

When it comes to the images, please make sure the “File URL ” button is selected, when you are setting the images in the media uploader.

Screenshot of the “File URL ” button: http://www.diigo.com/item/image/1mr8l/sjb1?size=o

Note: you only have to click the File URL button once, and it will be active for all other images set in the future.

hi, I know I had the same issue the first time I tried to use this theme on my site (I am now trying to install it on a subdomain), but since theme forest doesn’t allow for easy searching, I have to ask these questions again:

1. My site is not showing any slider content 2. Some of the images are not showing up on the site. 3. How do I get the lightbox to work? I followed the directions you included (went into the theme options and activated the lightbox but none of my images are showing up in the lightbox)

onioneye

Hi there,

to answer your latest questions:

1) Your slider works perfectly now. Congrats on sorting this out on your own. :)

2) Please make sure the “File URL ” button is selected, when you are setting the images in the media uploader.

Screenshot of the “File URL ” button: http://www.diigo.com/item/image/1mr8l/sjb1?size=o

Note: you only have to click the File URL button once, and it will be active for all other images set in the future, but you are going to have to go back and reselect the images that are not working.

3) You can easily activate the lightbox for the images inserted in your blog posts, but that’s a different story for the portfolio posts, as you would have to change some php/HTML of the theme, just like it is stated in the theme’s documentation.

Hi there, I would like to add a MailChimp sign-up form to my home page and style differently than other forms on the site (e.g. contact form). How do I best accomplish that with this theme? Should I create a second .css file, add the code to the existing style sheet, or into the individual page? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

It’s always a good idea to modify the theme via child themes, but you can always put your custom CSS at the end of the style.css file, if the modifications are nothing big.

OnionEye

I have just upoaded this theme and the pages have no style formatted, I don’t know what to do with it??

I have unzippe it and uploaded in the way suggested above.

PLEASE HELP !!

onioneye

Hi there,

no worries. You are just trying to install the theme improperly. You need to unzip the file you downloaded and upload the theme found inside it. Please see Solving broken theme issues.

By the way, thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

I have followed all instructions but it says the template is missing, please help!

please read my reply on your post above this one. I gave you the instructions there.

Thanks for your response but it still isn’t working.

I unzipped the file then unzipped the theme ‘equilibrium’. I put equilibrium theme into my wordpress themes folder. I have emptied the cache but it still says there is no template an the content is clearly unformatted.

Could I send you my details for you to have a look at it? I need this quite urgently now

Many thanks

onioneye

Hi there,

you are very much welcome.

Are you running your site at wordpress.com? Because, if you are, you should know that you can’t install custom themes over there. You have to have your own server space, and a domain. To find out more, please visit the following link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/. If, however, this is not the case, then please try installing the theme via your WordPress dashboard, under the Appearance -> Themes tab, by uploading the equilibrium.zip file in there. However, if that doesn’t work as well, then please send me the link to your site, and your WP login credentials via the contact form on my profile page, while making sure that you state your problem as well.

Where can i find a tutorial for setting the webpage up?. I have now bought one, but i am new in here and I just need some help to get started.? Thanks

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

The documentation is found in the main folder, that you downloaded, when you bought the theme. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely set everything up.

Hello,

I want to add file attachment field in contact form. How can I?

Thanks

onioneye

Hi there,

to modify the contact form, you would have to adjust the files, found in the /equilibrium/function-includes/theme-shortcodes/contact-form-shortcode/ directory. Also, you would probably have to modify the jquery.ajax.contact.form.js file.

Good luck with this! :)

Hi Onioneye,

Love the theme! I have 3 slider images and I want just ONE of the images to open the link in a new window. How do I do this?

Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for buying it. :)

As far as your question goes, you already have the options to link individual slides, but you would have to add the target=”_blank” attribute to the anchor tag, on the 47th line of code, in the slider.php file, in order for the linked slides to open in new tabs.

Hey, I would like to know if I am able to change the color of the “Details” link that comes up in the portfolio section and change the title “Latest Projects” as well… It’s been years since I’ve done any html. The theme is awesome. Thanks, Gavin

onioneye

Hi Gavin,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

the “Details” link is an image, so you would have to replace it with your own, if you want to change the colors.

Hint: the original image is found in the /equilibrium/images/layout/ directory.

As far as the “Latest Project” title goes, you can change it in the template-home.php file, on the 61th line of code.

hi, thanks for the help earlier.

I’m curious to know how to remove the “COMMENTS” on my site? I added a facebook comments plugin (working fine) but under it is showing the Wordpress Comments and I’d like to remove that.

http://michaeljustinfilms.com/jamie-lous-love-story/
onioneye

Hi there,

you are very much welcome. :)

As far as the comments go, the following, custom CSS should work for you:

.nocomments, #comments, .comment-list, .comments-navigation, #respond { display: none; }

You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

Hello! can’t figure out how to get my slider or lightbox to work. I’ve tried everything (changing width/height, disabling and then enabling, etc.).

Issue resolved via email.

For everyone else having the same problem, please make sure your homepage is setup as it should be, and that you are making your slides the proper way, by following the directions given in the theme’s documentation.

Hi, I purchased your theme for a client and they love it, as do I! I’m trying to move the social share buttons from the bottom of the post to the top. I can’t find the code in the single.php file. Can you give me any advice on this? Much thanks and great work!

Hey bud, I changed the “Details” image and replaced it with my own. I am

obviously not doing it correctly because the previous image is still being

loaded on the page. I emptied the Safari cache, is there something else i

should be doing?... Thanks, Gavin

onioneye

Hi there,

your custom image has to be of the same format (PNG), and have the same file name (view-details), in order to overwrite the original image. Also, please have in mind that you have to overwrite the image on your server, and not on your hard disk. The directory in which the image is found is /equilibrium/images/layout/.

By the way, I would appreciate it if you could reply to this thread, by clicking the “Reply” button, found at the start of the thread. It makes it easier for me, and for other people out here, to keep track of your comments. Thanks! :)

Hello!

I’m having the same problem as 404gang above. I’ve installed my child version of the theme as you had described, but am unable to change the background pattern / colour.

I’ve copied all of the function eq_custom_css() into functions.php in my child theme but am unclear where to include

$file = get_theme_root() . ’/’ . get_template() . ’/styles/custom.php’;

Can you be more explicit please? I just want the background to be white.

Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

You actually have to modify the mentioned piece of code, and not include it in the function, as it is already included in there. If you are not sure how to do this, just put the following code in the child theme’s style.css file, after the import statement:

body { background: #fff !important; }

And if you wan’t to remove the shadow around the main content area, the following code should suffice:

.boxshadow #main-wrapper { box-shadow: none; }

Hi OnionEye,

Thanks for getting back to me though :)

Hi there,

you are very much welcome. Glad you fix it on your own. :)
