recently purchased this theme, but when attempting to upload to my wordpress administration i get the following failure message:

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.”

please advise!

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

No worries about your issue. You are just trying to install the theme improperly. You need to unzip the file you downloaded and upload the theme found inside it. Please see Solving broken theme issues.

By the way, please make sure you also read the documentation, that’s found in the main folder. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme, so it will definitely be of good use to you.

Sincerely,

Hello onioneye,

indeed i’m new on theme forest ;-) I don’t know exactly what i’m doing wrong. I ve sent you this morning my question on your contact form via your portfolio and I just received this message again: (I apologize for the inconvenience this might cause you, but I only offer support via ThemeForest…)

How should I do? I bought your theme and just want to know if I can adjust the width of the slider and keep the rest of the site centered. 100% or if not possible, then 1300px.

Thank you for your help!

Sophie

Hi Sophie,

you absolutely need to contact me with the account, with which you purchased the theme, and not with your current account because you haven’t purchased anything on the marketplace with it. I need to verify your purchase, before I can offer you support, and I definitely won’t be able to do so, until you contact me with the right account.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. :)

Hi There-

Your theme is the best. I’ve been using it for almost a year now, and have made a few of my own modifications along the way. I really want to upgrade to being able to have 10 slides in each project, but I don’t want to have to upload the whole theme again and lose my modifications. Could you tell me which specific files I should upload in order to increase my slide number to 10?

Thanks so much!

Jen

Hi Jen,

thanks for such a great compliment about the theme, and for the purchase, of course! :)

As far as your question goes, updating the following files should work:

  • portfolio-metaboxes.php
  • theme-functions.php
  • upload-button.js

By the way, love how you customized the theme! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hello, I’m interested in this theme but I had one question. I was wondering if the front page “recent projects” can be linked to a regular page instead of the portfolio item page.

Let me know thanks!

- Fernando

onioneye

Hi Fernando,

thanks for taking an interest in the theme!

As far as your question goes, it is certainly possible to have the content in the mentioned section link to pages, instead of posts, but since this is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you. I’m guessing this would be a pretty easy job for a WordPress developer.

Enjoy working with the theme, if you end up buying it! :)

Hi, i buy this theme and i have a question, how i can change the white opacity of the work in black opacity? cordially sandrine

onioneye

Hi Sandrine,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

The mentioned area is whitish when hovered over because the thumbnail just “soaks up” the white background behind it. Therefore, some development work would be required of you, to make your desired modification happen.

Hint: you either need to make the background black, or place black elements behind the thumbnails, that have the same dimensions as the thumbnails.

By the way, if you are not a developer yourself, but absolutely need to have the mentioned feature available in your copy of the theme, then my best suggestion for you is to turn to the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/ to find a reputable freelancer for the job.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hi There!

Curious if you are going to add Pinterest to the ‘sociables’ any time soon?

If not, is that area easy to customize to add it?

Thanks! Jason

onioneye

Hi Jason,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as your question goes, I can not guarantee anything at the moment unfortunately, so my best suggestion is to make the icon yourself, or alternatively hire someone to do it for you. This shouldn’t be a hard job for a developer.

After making your icon, and uploading it to the /equilibrium/images/layout/ directory, you should modify the following files: theme-functions.php (the “eq_social_networks” function), and options.php (add the option for your new Pinterest field).

hi,

how to create contact form?

tq

onioneye

Question ignored on request.

ok just ignore my previous comment,

ok now i just want to know where can i edit code for add on addtional field for code form? which file and line? tq

onioneye

Hi there,

to achieve what you are after, you would have to modify the files, found in the /equilibrium/function-includes/theme-shortcodes/contact-form-shortcodes/ directory of the theme.

Good luck! Oh, and thanks a lot for purchasing the theme! :)

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Hello! I just have a couple questions (for now):

1. I want my contact form to be like the one in the demo, however I’ve looked everywhere and cannot figure out how to do that. Instead I’m getting a whole new page: http://www.garnetphoto.com/contact-me/

2. Minor question, when you hover over the menu and it’s grey, is there any way to disable that so you don’t get a hover box?

I’m definitely loving you’re theme, I just seem to be useless with the coding part. :) I do wish there was an easy way to search this particular discussion on this website to see if you’ve already answered my questions again before I ask them.

Thanks for your help, Cassie

onioneye

Hi Cassie,

glad you are loving the theme! Thanks for buying it. :)

To answer your questions:

1) You seem to have improperly installed the theme. Please read the documentation, that’s found in the main folder, as it contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme.

By the way, here’s the content of the demo’s contact page, that goes in the HTML view of the content editor, if you want to have the same formatted contact page as the one in the demo. You just need to change a few things, such as the email address and some other data, related to the shortcodes.

http://snippi.com/s/up2udji

2) The following code should help:

#menu .backLava, #menu .selectedLava { background: none !important; box-shadow: none !important; }

You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

Oh it was installed fine. I just attempted to change the domain that went to it and messed everything up so much that I can’t even log into Wordpress anymore. Thank you for your reply and help though, It will help when I figure out how to fix the other problems I created.

onioneye

You are very much welcome. Please be careful when toying with WordPress settings, especially with the “URL” ones.

Good luck!

Great theme! I can’t seem to find the place, or file, to modify my avatar in the blog section from the stock gray silhouette to my own design. Much thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you find the theme great! Thanks for buying it. :)

As far as your question goes, the CSS code for the avatar is found under the “Comments” section of the style.css file, but if you want to change the avatar itself, then this is theme-independent, and is done here: https://en.gravatar.com/

Sincerely,

OnionEye

We have bought your Equilibrium 1.5.3 theme and appreciate the nice work.

We run WP from our hosted server. So far everything has been working as advertised but we having issues when using images referred to by external URLs in the portfolio’s items. Using images from the WP media library works fine, and the images’ resizing is taking place as it should.

As soon as we use an external URL (the URL of a picture hosted somewhere else on our server, or on an image hosting service on the web) we are getting the following error message and the image is not resized at all: Warning: Division by zero in …/wp-content/themes/equilibrium/single-portfolio.php on line 99.

The image URLs are correct, as we see a full size image. The permissions for the thumb creation script are set as recommended in the documentation.

It is important for us to be able to use external URLs, as most of our images are already available on image hosting sites or our web server, and we would like to reuse them instead of re-uploading them into the WP library.

Thanks for your letting us know how we could fix this.

onioneye

Hi there,

OK, I am back with what seems to be the final solution to the problem. Please replace the original single-portfolio.php file with the customized single-portfolio.php file, and you should be fine.

By the way, please make sure that the aforementioned timthumb flag has been set to true; otherwise, this will not work properly.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

likilikidesign

Hi Onioneye,

The customized single-portfolio.php did fix the issue related to the zero divide. Thanks

That said it left out the display of the related projects’ thumbnail which was showing the “infamous missing img question mark” with external URLs ;)

We fixed it by modifying the fetch of the thumbnails as follow

<?php $img_meta = wp_get_attachment_image_src( eq_get_attachment_id_from_src( $preview_img_url ), ‘full’); if (!$img_meta0){ $img_meta0 = $preview_img_url; } ?>

We also did the same in the templates for the home page, and the 2, 3 and 4 column portfolio pages.

I’ll email you the modified files for you to check, but so far it’s working as we would like it to behave.

Best

onioneye

Great news! I am really glad we could make this work, by conjoining forces. :)

I will check your email shorty, and reply to it.

Hi Onioneye,

Could you have a quick look at http://steller.com.au/projects/ – this is the portfolio page.

I am wondering how I can get the portfolio items from the portfolio category “PROPERTIES NOW SELLING ” (shown on this page), to appear directly from a link item “NOW SELLING ” which i would like to create in the sites main menu.

Everything I read makes me think it should works using something to do with the slug name i setup called “properties-now-selling” but I can’t seem to reach a url which will show the category items. – everything just goes to a 404.

When i’m in the admin section => portfilio => categories and select the view link under the created category it links me to http://steller.com.au/portfolio_categories/properties-now-selling/ however no items appear.

Any thoughts?

James

onioneye

Hi James,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as the portfolio categories go, please be aware that you can’t put them straight in the menu, as they will not work. That’s what the portfolio filter, found on the portfolio page, is there for—to filter the items on the same page, with a smooth animation, based on the active category.

Having the categories in the menu is possible though, but since it is not available out of the box, you would have to modify the code to achieve what you are after, and that is most definitely a task for a developer, given the required knowledge to make this modification happen.

Hint: the main part of this modification would involve making a taxonomy.php file.

Hi,

After I added ’ + “phone”).val() + ’ to line 59 in contact-form-shortcode.php the contact form just redirect me to a 404 page.

I have also tried to change “name” to “your-name”, however that redirects me to the homepage.

I have added all the extra code needed for “phone” in both ajax.php & contact-form-shortcode.php

What am I missing out?

onioneye

Hi there,

unfortunately, I am unable to provide any further support for modifications beyond one or two lines of code, after I have given a hint on which files need to be changed to make the desired modification happen. My best suggestion for you is to turn to the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/ to find a freelancer for the job, if you can not complete it yourself.

I am really sorry I couldn’t be of more help, regarding the matter. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if I can assist you with anything else.

Hi there Just installed the theme and I’m super excited to get it all started :D I just noticed that there is no pintrest or instagram under the social selection. Will this be coming soon or do I need to find a plug in for this?

Thank you for a beautiful theme! I’ll be back with questions!

Hi there,

glad you find the theme beautiful! Thanks for buying it. :)

Enjoy working with the Equilibrium theme,

OnionEye

Thank you for your template, it’s very cool:) But I have two questions:

  • first: can i make active link in contact info shortcode? For example: [contact_info address=”Naslov X” city=”X” state=”X” phone=”xxx xxx xxx” zip=”X” email=”info@test.si”] ->>>> how i can make active mail link for example: info@test.si
  • second: how i can control order category in portfolio? I would like to have different order. How can I change it?

Thank you

onioneye

Questions answered via email.

I’m using the pop up contact form, which works ok, but when you click on the option in the menu, when it pops up it changes the background image to be one that I’m not using.

When you try and submit the form, it says ‘please make sure all fields are filled out correctly’ – when they are!

EDIT : I’ve also just noticed that the contact shortcodes aren’t optional, when according to the documentation they are. I’m not using the one for address or phone number, yet it is showing the icons and an empty space next to them,

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

As far as your issue goes, the background of the modal window is always constant, independent of the body’s background, that you set in the Theme Options. Having said that, if you want to change the background, you would have to modify the code, found under the “Lightbox and Modal Window” section of the main stylesheet (style.css).

By the way, thank you for the information about the contact info shortcode. I should update the documentation to say that all the attributes are actually mandatory, and not optional. In the meantime, you can remove the icons with the following CSS code:

.contact-info-shortcode .location, .contact-info-shortcode .telephone { display: none; }

You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

Hello,

I wanted to communicate with you how many people have given us compliments on our site, which uses this theme. We did have to hire a freelancer to help with some functionality that was not included, but overall everyone is responding to the simplicity and beauty of the design. Thanks again.

Hi. OnionEye! I love your theme. I bought others too. :D

I have few Questions. Please have a look my website. www.hwang.biz

1. Custom Logo: It is normally grey, but when I move over the mouse around the logo, it gets the original color. How can I disable that function?

2. Table: Your Table Format is always grey – white – grey – white. How can I change all that in white? Or maybe only the first row in grey?

3. what is the pixel size of blog post’s featured image in homepage and also thumnail in blog?

4. how can i delete the comment filed? i am using facebook comment, so i do not need your pre-made comment system, although it looks nice.

thanks !!!

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks a lot for buying it, as well as my other works. :)

To answer your questions:

1) The following CSS code will do the job:

.opacity #logo, .opacity #wp-title-logo { opacity: 1; }

You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

2) The following CSS code will help:

#main tr:nth-of-type(odd), .page-content tr:nth-of-type(odd), .post-content tr:nth-of-type(odd) { background: #fff; }

3) The thumbnail in the blog is 140*130, and the small one one the homepage is 94*98.

4)

#respond { display: none; }

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,

OnionEye
