I’m having trouble making the navigation bar work. I make a page, but it doesn’t show up, and I’m not sure how to make that happen. Your guide says, “There are two main navigation areas in this template, main top navigation, with multi level navigation support and a small “one level” navigation in footer. You can take advantage of these areas simply create a menu named “Primary” for the main top navigation and another one called “Secondary” for the footer nav.”

Where do I create a menu?

Where do I control these menus?

How do I put something on these menus?

Thanks!

Hi mamabry,

thanks for buying Eruption WordPress. For a page to show up in the theme’s menus, just do the following steps:

- Create the page, of course, and publish it.

- If you haven’t created any custom menu, the page should show up in the two menu areas at the top and the bottom of the theme. This represents the factory setup.

- If you’re willing to have control over the primary menu (the top black horizontal bar) and the secondary menu (at the bottom of the page), just create two menus named exactly “Primary” and “Secondary”, respectively.

To achieve this, simply go in the “Menus” section, under the “Appearance” tab of your WordPress administration interface. You’ll be presented with a screen with an input text field named “Menu name” and a submit button that says “Create menu”.

Once your menus are created, simply drag the pages from the left sidebar (pages are listed in the “Pages” box) to the right, into your menu area. Please notice that you can switch which menu you’re editing by selecting the appropriate tab on top of the screen, and please also notice that you can rearrange the order of your menu, by simply dragging elements up and down.

To get more details about this, we heartily recommend to make reference to this page from the WordPress official docs, which we think could be of help to you: http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen.

Enjoy Eruption WordPress! :)

Hey I purchased this theme and I LOVE IT ! AMAZING work! I am trying to customize a few things and got a little stuck. For the portfolio section you have a “single-works.php”. I know that this is a custom layout for each portfolio piece you enter into the theme. My question is are you telling the portfolio template to look for “single-works.php”? If so where do you do that? I’m trying to duplicate the portfolio section so I can use them both for another part of my site and have the same features. Thanks!

Hi ! thanks for buying Eruption WordPress, we have sent you an email !

slideshow doesnt display: i´ve created a new page and set the home page template on it but it doesnt show the slider, before that i properly created several posts under the slideshow section with the proper caption

THBThemes

Hi, thank you for buying our template.

You need to activate the checkbox under “slideshow” section of our custom admin panel, in a new installation by default is unchecked. For a slideshow creation you need to create only a post under slideshow section, as described on manual page 17.

If you still have problem try to load the dummy content or send us a link of your installation so we can check it.

- The Happy Bit

i´ve followed all the instruccions, even i have taken screenshots step by step to show you what i did, do you have an email so you can see by yourself

THBThemes

First of all try with a clean installation, load the dummy content and check the “show slideshow” option.

You can send an email at : thehappybit@gmail.com

Hi! Very nice template!

I have some questions, though.

1) I didn’t find how to put a link on the buttons. For example, I want one of the buttons to link to one of my pages… I tried to set a link, but it didn’t work. I do I do that?

2) Is there a way that the portfolio page links to the posts instead of the works? Because for now, I sort of have to put all the videos in both places, because I want the visitors to see the «new videos» posted on the blog, but I want them to be on the portfolio, too.

3) can I put embedded video from Vimeo ?

THANKS !!

THBThemes

Hi genaubry,

thanks for purchasing Eruption WordPress. Concerning your questions:

1) Please refer to the “How can I put a link on shortcode buttons” section in the FAQ .

2) That’s not possible, at the moment. We recognize that this could be a relevant and useful feature, so we’re planning to add to Eruption WordPress starting from version 1.1, which will be released in the foreseeable future.

3) Yes, you can, inside both posts and pages. Please refer to the Vimeo website to find the code you have to put in your editor.

Enjoy!

I love this theme!

I may just buy this from you, but I would ask that I get the theme EXACTLY as it is shown in display on Themeforest. :)

Thanks,

Josh

Hi j1980mac,

Eruption WordPress comes with a handy XML file that can be used to import the very same dummy content you see on Themeforest example page, using the WordPress importer plugin.

Just select “WordPress” as your import source, and upload the XML file you’ll find in our package.

Please note that you’ll have to give writing permissions to the TimThumb cache folder located in themedir /framework/lib/cache.

We hope that you’ll enjoy Eruption WordPress!

- The Happy Bit

Thanks a bunch, but if I buy this, which I plan on it tonight, will you install it on my server, or give me the exact install so I can put this on my server? I’ll provide you with whatever you need to do the job.

Thanks

THBThemes

Hey there,

unfortunately we don’t offer that kind of support, but fear not as you’ll find everything you need in our guide, included in the package in the form of a PDF file.

Hi! Thanks for the quick answers!

I have another one :

The social networks icons do not displays the same way as in the template… they are one under one instead of beeing side by side… it’s not so nice.

Thank you!

THBThemes

Hi genaubry,

thanks for pointing that out. This will be definitely included in our version 1.1 which will be released soon, so stay tuned! ;)

Hey there, awesome theme,

one question though, im having trouble getting the featured item to show up, i tried exactly what the manual said and nothings coming up… recommendations?

THBThemes

Hi, thanks for purchasing Eruption WordPress.

There’s two featured items : featured post and featured box. To activate these you need to enable the custom layout checkbox then you can enable the “Show featured content” checkbox.

These options will be improved on the next version that will be available in the next days.

If you still have trouble try loading dummy content so you can test all the features.

Yes, I just bought your theme, how do I install the dummy content again?

Where do I find this :

themedir /framework/lib/cache

And where do I install the XML file?

Thanks!

j1980mac Purchased

Okay, I did all that, and it didn’t work. I even read the PDF documentation. I uploaded the XML file, then I looked at the permissions through Filezilla, and they are already the same. Why did it not work?

THBThemes

Hi j1980mac,

if you’re new to WordPress, please follow these instructions from the official docs that should help you to perform a clean install of the theme: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress.

Specifically, to import content from an XML file, this is the official guide you have to follow: http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content. Keep in mind that you’ll likely be asked to install the WordPress Importer plugin, and that the file to upload through that administration page is the XML you’ve found in the template package.

- The Happy Bit

wow this one is so creative! love the geometric design…

I’ve gotten this complete. After reading the documentation, I’ve ran into more issues. For some reason my home page is pulling in blog posts unless I disable my postings. Also my slider in not sliding. I’ve read all the documentation and it appears that the theme could be broken. I’m going to have to ask you to take a look for me. It’s not functioning correctly. :(

There are 2 slides in my slider, it’s on, and it’s not working. I’m not sure what to do. And I have the home page set up as a static page, and the blog page is suppose to pull in all the blog posts, but it’s not. I’m not sure what to do.

Please help as soon as you can.

Thanks,

Josh

THBThemes

Hi j1980mac,

first of all, please download and install the 1.1 that has just come out. This version fixes some important issues, so make sure to be running that version.

Then, if the issues persist, please go to http://themeforest.net/user/THBThemes. Here you’ll find a form to send us an email, since it’s not that easy to discuss and handle assistance requests about the theme using comments.

If you don’t mind, please send us the URL of your installation and we’ll have a look at it.
