Update is in line for review
I’ll update the changelog tomorrow
Hey guys – my client’s customers are saying they’re all getting the error “This is a modern site which require a more recent browser to work properly. Please upgrade now!” so I went to browserstack.com to check… I’m getting this error even if I specify Windows 8 and the LATEST version of Chrome??!!
I know it didn’t do this prior to the last time I updated the version…. PLEASE ADVISE. Very urgent!!!
Which version of essenza do you have? I’m testing with chrome and everything is fine
Well, it’s not doing it now, but believe me, it was for every platform & browser I tested. Perhaps a problem with the host, but I don’t see how it would show the ‘browser update’ page if (HostGator) was having issues… Looking forward to the 3.9 update today Thanks!
The update is already live since yesterday night
Thank you so much in advance, good job and congrats!
Thanks Let us know if you find something wrong on it
Oh, actually…I dont know how to import the new version “Creative Demo” without use “dummy” button …Please, could you tell me how to do it? Thank you!
Do you mean update essenza? You have a step by step guide here: http://plusquare.pt/faq/essenza/
No, sorry, I mean….select “Creative Demo” without use the Dummy Button in settings and upgrade my own content.
I’m confused. You want to import dummy content but don’t want to use the import dummy content button?
Those are just content from the demos, if you have your site customized already don’t import anything.
Yes!, I agree, sorry for that hehe….just I was a little confused about that! Solved
Hi, sorry, checkout the comment I’ve made below. We’re uploading now the update, sorry for the trouble
Thanks for all the support, you’re nice! Oh, just one detail.. I was trying to show the mosaic blog in the last firefox version and it doesn’t work in my website…it’s weird because, on the other hand, essenza live preview is working…. mmm…What do you think about that? Thank you in advance
Seems to be working on firefox, at least on my end, just checked the link you mentioned of your site. Which FF version are you using?
Updated to the latest theme version – getting this error:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/gavpar/xxx.com/wp-content/themes/essenza/plusquare_admin/config-common/php/google_fonts.php on line 56
Strange. Can’t replicate that. Can you try to replace that file for this one: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8438578/google_fonts.zip
Let me know, thanks and sorry for the trouble
Thanks – that seems to have fixed it!
Awesome sorry for the trouble
I keep getting messages from Envato saying that there is an update. However, every time I check, there is nothing in the change log. Is this a waste of time or are these update emails real? There has supposedly been at least 3-4 updates this month based on their emails. Can you explain?
We’ve made some subversions along the way that corrected some bugs yes, we didn’t update the changelog for simple lack of time.
Will try to update it today for the new version
Cool for the new uptade !
Is it possible to uptade the changelog too ? To see what’s new in there .
Yes, we’ll try to update it today
Same Error aswell after update:
After replacing google_fonts.php with the previous version’s file, the theme works partly, no portfolio displayed in firefox and in the backend no portfolio items are displayed in the Portfolio Section.
Replacing cleared the error, but still i have the same issue as “jamesandlianne” one comment below this. For now i changed everthing back to the previous version, but there i cant add any content either.
That’s really strange. Can you create a ticket in our support system and provide us some wp credentials so we can take a look. Try clearing your cache first and check if the error persists.
I just purchased this theme and it can’t be uploaded because
“Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed.”
Not a good start!!!
Well you must be choosing the whole package from TF, have you selected the essenza.zip within it?
That fixed it. Sorry, I’m new to ThemeForest and wasn’t aware there was a zip inside a zip.
No worries, just don’t panic, we’re here to help
I’m struggling to do anything in the backend. Lots of options just don’t appear to have any function. I have the following errors in the backend.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/p3nexnas05_data03/05/2086205/html/wp-content/themes/essenza/plusquare_admin/config-common/php/google_fonts.php on line 56

Those are just warnings, neverthless can you try can you try to replace the file at essenza/plusquare_admin/config-common/php/google_fonts.php for this one: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8438578/google_fonts.zip.
Setting up your google app id in the template customizer should also solve the warnings.
Replacing the google_fonts.zip cleared the warnings. But I’m still struggling to add any content.
Just for example, clicking ‘Add Images’ in the Add New Work section of Portfolio, nothing happens. And this is the case for everything. I can’t add any work on anything: the slider, gallery, even a post or page.
Also, I’m assuming that ‘Post Type’ and ‘Post Options’ there are supposed to be options/elements within each tab – but I get nothing.
Please can you help?
Going through the help file in the documentation I can see that what I have definitely doesn’t look like what I’m supposed to. There is no Visual Page Builder in my backend of WP, nor are there any options visible in the Sliders section.
Are you testing that in your local machine, or do you have it in a server?
Sorry, I don’t understand the difference. It’s uploaded to my WP install hosted by my web space provider.
Strange, you have wp3.9 and essenza 2.3 right? If so, make a ticket on our support system and provide us some admin credentials so we can take a look. Tell me the link to the ticket when you do.
Yes WP3.9 and Essenza 2.3. Ticket #202133
I just updated to be a fatal error.
Admin page, the color palette is not working properly.
And still do not come out well at the click of the option.
The screen is still not well, and there are a lot of options.
If you are hoping to once again wish to test and update. Thank you.
Hi we tested it throughout yes. Have you tried clearing your cache? If so which error is appearing?
I love your theme, but i need to show 20 rectangles on home page, each one linking to a different blog, is this possible ? Can i parameter your theme in order to display 4 row of 5 rectangular pictures ?
You want to achieve that with the portfolio setup? So a grid like this: http://essenza.plusquare.pt/creative/ ?
Or a grid like this? http://essenza.plusquare.pt/corporate/ (scroll to recent projects)
Thanks for the interest
No matter the appearence of the grid (i would have to adapt it anyway – like adding a text on each picture, even no hovering over), but what i want is to be able to display about 20 rectangles on the desktop screen without scrolling. So a smaller thumbnail image.
The second question is, can i redirect user at thumbnail click towards a custom URL ?
Thank you very much
Yes you can define any url in each grid item. As to the other thing, you can’t ever be sure it will display the 20 rectangles without having to scroll, as it is a responsive grid. For the gallery type grid you can define a max width for each item in the grid, but in the portfolio you can’t and the script calculates the best size for it
Ok thanks, so the next question is easy, if i can parameterize the max size of item, i can more or less control the number of items on my page without scrolling, so can i use a gallery as my home page then ?
Yes and yes
I just installed Essenza again. And cannot make even 1st movement – to set my logo. The button just don’t work. I don’t want to keep checking what else doesn’t work for this time.
Guys when you check everything? I cannot start my project because of all these problems. I really love your theme but I am loosing my faith that Essenza will work.
No other theme from here has such problems in use.
We do test everything, the problem is that some issues only occur on different setups or when the theme is installed from scratch. Can you create a ticket in our support system, provide us with wp admin credentials and ftp ones so we can correct the issues immediately. Let me know the ticket id when you create.
Thanks and sorry for the trouble we’re doing our best
And the problem with slow loading with Corporate Demo is still there btw. Ok I will make a ticket.
Hi, well we’ve sorted it out, check ou the comment I’ve made below, sorry for the trouble, we’re uploading now the correction
Aha… I don’t know what to wait next
My Ticket #202208
My fault there, we export eveything to a production folder and the script that compiles the js files skipped a nested folder.
Sorry again :s should be accepted soon the update
Sorry for the trouble caused, you’ll get a notification when it does get accepted
Hi, Since upgrade when i click on the portfolio in the admin, it does not appear. It appears on frontend but cannot see in admin..
Sure, will do, you should also get a notification of the update
Sorry for the trouble, completely my fault on this one
Thanks for understanding, it shouldn’t take long for it to be accepted
New update seems work. But the main page with slider in Corporate Demo is still damn SLOW loading. And don’t search for something from my side – everything with other themes goes well.
Btw the blog don’t loading even on YOUR demo page http://essenza.plusquare.pt/corporate/overview
Wish there was an option on Themeforest “give my money back”.
What else to say…
Everything this is too long, too uncorrect. You asked me to make a ticket in your support – I made it. With all accesses to my site to let you fix problems. No fixes, no answers to the ticket. I deleted all now. You work bad.
Good luck to you guys.
We can’t be here 24/7 sorry. We want every customer happy and we work as hell to achieve that, nice to see the appreciation.
Anyway some comments to what you’ve said:
1- The page you say that doesn’t exist: http://essenza.plusquare.pt/corporate/blog-overview/
2- Sorry for not getting back to your ticket, we did solve the issue and the update has been accepted on TF already, all in a few hours, we also made a huge update and correction for wp3.9 in 2 days: http://plusquare.pt/changelog/essenza/
Note you’re buying a template that took a year to develop for 45$ and still complaining because we made a mistake on an update which we solved on the same day, sound reasonable to you?
Sorry for the trouble once again, it was our mistake after all.
I don’t expect your 24/7 presence. All I need is to know when I can receive the answer from the support. My ticket was there 2 weeks without any answer.
1 – ok, link http://themeforest.net/item/essenza-responsive-grid-portfolio-theme/full_screen_preview/5796249 – Corporate Demo – click on “blog” and the site hang up.
2 – as I said you could drop a line to inform person who spent money for your not working correctly product when this person can wait for your answer.
Yes, let’s also notice that you earned already $37.215 for just one theme and it even dosen’t work correctly. Sounds reasonable to you? And you didn’t solve problems the same day: “I’ll try to resolve wp3.9 issue tomorrow”.
I know what means to create good product, I am developer too.
Sorry, I don’t want to continue this dialog.
Sorry for the delay on the support our support guy had some problems and couldn’t work for some days, and I was away also. We’re responding in normal time now.
1- Indeed, that link should direct to http://essenza.plusquare.pt/corporate/blog-overview/ and not http://essenza.plusquare.pt/corporate/overview/ it’s just a typo mistake when we made the menu, thanks for noticing
2- It was actually 23,829 if you take the envato comission, and you have to divide by two as it was a two man job, 11914, and divide by months spent working on it, 992.
If you’re a developer you should know we can easily make mistakes on a release for such a big project as essenza. We’d still be glad to help you and turn you into one of our hundreds of happy customers, because the theme does work properly.
Regards and sorry once again
1- so why it is still there? to change “typo mistake” is a couple of seconds.
2 – It doesn’t matter actually. And I don’t have a habit to count somebody’s money unlike you. The point is that nobody gave you the right to say “you’re buying a template that took a year to develop for 45$ and still complaining,,,”. It sounds like “you better shut up and be happy with what I gave”. And it seems you don’t understand it.
Other authors have projects much bigger that yours, read comments to their items – nobody have so much problems.
I made another “ticket” with accesses to my site #202774. If Essenza wiil not work correctly let’s just forget about it. $45 is a nice price to learn on one mistake.
1- http://essenza.plusquare.pt/corporate/ check again
2- You started the discussion mate, we’re trying to help and you trash our work, you pay 45$ for a theme that works, and it does work. You understood incorrectly what I was trying to explain, but no point in continuing in this discussion.
I’ve made my apologies already, it’s up to you to accept them or not. I’ll get to your ticket.
1 – ok, now it works.
2 – The money theme started from you.
I don’t see your apologies about what I am talking about. Anyway, as I said it was a good lesson for me.
Bye for now.
And good luck.
Again I’m really sorry for the trouble and delays. We do apologize for our own mistakes and as you can see we’ve been here all day. We’ll try to convert you into a happy customer
new update new problems… just updated my staging site to Wordpress 3.9 and installed your update from this morning. Seems like Essenza isn’t reading the settings from the settings menu correctly. Everything is off. I updated Ticket #189280 with more details.
Replied there, issue solved, was a permission issue on a file
Thanks. Just responded with a follow up question. Would you mind having another look? Thx!
for blog posts, where in the Essenza settings do you change this value from black to another color?
Template Customizer-> Color Settings -> Main Coloring Parts -> Pages Color
where might i find this 3.9 update and some step by steps…
I keep getting a smiley face icon or freezing..im not smiling right now..help me out please my site is looking real wack right now http://www.michimeko.com/
Hey MichiMeko, wish I could reply to your comment directly but can’t. Do you have jetpack installed by any chance? That plugin used to cause this smiley face for me. But I thought this was fixed with an Essenza update. Disable the jetpack plugin and see if that fixes things.
YO eierund thats helped
Seems like it is good now without jetpack, I’ll try to find what’s happening with essenza and jetpack
