How can I add checkboxes to the contact form both on the contact.html and sendEmail.php files and keep a similar formatting? Must have. Cheers in advance.

EvGreen

well, 1) add the checkbox to contact.html, 2) set up the grabbing of the data in js/script.js , 3) set the mailer script in sendEmail.php

if you want to style the checkboxes – I’d recommend using uniform-js it fits very nicely with the theme styling.

Obviously you’d have it much easier in wordpress version of the theme as it boils down to using few shortcodes there, but I guess you got other reasons for using html/css version :)

cheers

I purchased your HTML a some days ago an I realized my own homepage. I found some little issues I could solve because the theme is very well documented. Only with the contact form I have a big problem I couldn’t solve. Maybe you can help?

I have configured phpMailer well. Testpages are running and I get emails. If I use yourcontact form I get nothing else then the loading Icon. The server log shows me an internal error 500. Do you have any experiences with this issue? How can I check where the reason is? I do not realy understand how the contact form works with script.js and so on, Do you have some hints for me?

EvGreen

Hey, check if you got php5 enabled on the server, older php4 may be the cause of your problems. If it’s not that – mail me, I’ll need to take closer look on what happens there.

cheers

Hello, great theme I love it! One question, is there a way to make the “htmlcaption” on the slides fade in?

Thanks

EvGreen

Hey, not sure If I get you :) The caption kind of fades in already, maybe you meant to keep it not fading in-out when switching slides? Because I had couple questions like that and unfortunately it’s not possible – slider don’t have this kind of function, and only way to deal with that is.. well adding text directly on the images

Hi, I will get some quickstart or sample data when I buy?

EvGreen

the html version looks exactly like the preview (just with different images due to licenses), so the sample data is there. There is also a brief explanation on the more advanced/complicated things in the code. Html version is easy to set-up, but if you never had experience with html/css you will definitely need to spend some time to learn at least the basics. If that’s the case – I’d recommend getting wordpress edition of the theme, and a decent hosting.

cheers

Thank you. And Wordpress version contains sample data? (e.g. xml file).

EvGreen

yep, a “dummy content” that’s exactly the same as preview

hello there can you convert this for whmcs thx you

EvGreen

sorry, there are no plans to convert this to whmcs, you’d need to hire someone to do it for you

cheers

Hello I bought your product and the ONLY issue I’m having is with the PHP form. I have added the name and the name – but I send a test and I don’t receive anything. here is my file:

http://cl.ly/2P0M0y3Y22203N1S3w0t The site that I’m using your theme is: http://ultimatepainters.net/

Can you please fix or let me know what to do? Dell

EvGreen

hmm seeing as you are running on godaddy, maybe you got php4 on the server, check it and possibly switch to php5. Other than that, the response from the server is allright (confirmation of sending comes up), so maybe the mails just go to spam folder on your mail?

cheers

Thanks for the response…

Well all the http://cl.ly/0Y0Z0X2M0M3y18172728 features plans have PHP5 included. I’ve checked the spam folder as well, nothing there… any ideas?

Dell

EvGreen

well not easy stuff then. You can try one more thing tho – download newest mailer class here: http://code.google.com/a/apache-extras.org/p/phpmailer/downloads/detail?name=PHPMailer_5.2.0.zip&can=2&q=

and just replace the phpMailer contents. The script should fit to the new version. If this won’t help, then am afraid you’ll have to ask godaddy, they should have logs what happens to the send mail request. Maybe one of their silly “security” features is just blocking your mails from being sent.

This theme’s nice, that’s why I bought it, but I didn’t realise it wasn’t a WordPress theme and I can’t do anything with it so I just lost $20.

EvGreen

hmm you can try to contact envato, if you didn’t download it yet then will get you a refund for sure. Otherwise contact me via mail, we’ll figure something out.

Great template. I have an IE7 bug with it. The following code works fine in Chrome, Safari, and Fire Fox. When I test it in IE7 the image is not clickable. If I hover over it I can see the link it just doesn’t work. If I remove the class=”border_magic” it will work.

Image Description

Please help…

Thanks!

Here is the code…

<p><a href="file.php" title="file description"><img src="images/image.png" alt="image description" class="border_magic" /></a></p></code
EvGreen

hmm interesting. Notice how that 1px border is clickable but image not :) eh ie is truly abomination.. anyways, you can fix it by adding this to the “a” tag:

onclick="location.href=this.href; return false"

Hi, I am hoping you can help me.

If I set the portfolio section to 3 columns wide and 12 items per page, when I add a 13th item it does not appear. I suppose what I am asking is that is there a way that once the number exceeds the amount set for the page, another page is created, such as on the blog where at the bottom it says page 1 of 2, and has a little automatically generated nav buttons. I ask as I have about 65 items in my portfolio and don’t want to put them all on one page and would rather it go onto another page in multiples of 12.

Cheers

EvGreen

Guessing you use sortable portfolio, switch to standard portfolio mode. Pagination is not allowed on sortable-type portfolio as it wouldn’t have much use.

cheers

Cheers for that, i’ll just stick with it as is on the sortable and have a large page.

Is there any way of ordering the categories on the portfolio as currently they are in alphabetical order. I thought I could get round this by adding a 1,2,3 etc before each category but no did not work.

Thanks

EvGreen

changing the order of categories is a bit hard on technical side, as it’s deeper code than just portfolio.php, BUT , once you will have your list of categories for portfolio, and be sure you won’t be adding new ones for a while – mail me with their IDs and order, and I’ll cook you a proper .php :)

cheers

Thanks for that.

I am using the sortable portfolio. The IDs in the order are:-

1 = 39 2 = 26 3 = 18 4 = 38 5 = 30

EvGreen

ok, need you to mail me as comments system here would scramble the code I’d try to post

cheers

Great theme!

Is there a quick way to remove the Tweet and FB Like options below all the images in the portfolio?

We are not integrating Facebook at all yet, and I would like to turn this off.

EvGreen

yep, edit js/script.js find the prettyPhoto function and by adding a property to it like here: http://www.no-margin-for-errors.com/projects/prettyphoto-jquery-lightbox-clone/documentation/

add

social_tools: false

to it

cheers

Default-user

I apologize, but could not find exactly what I should change, and how to do it.

Can you send me either a snapshot, or line item with exactly what I need to change?

Looks like others out there in forums have had the same issue, but no clear instruction for us that are not html experts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

EvGreen

do you have 1.2 version of the theme?

then you will have a folder in the package that’s named “non minified files for developers”, open js/plugins.js, find

jQuery("a[rel^='prettyPhoto']").add('.zoomer').add('.inner_main a:has(img.wpimgload)').prettyPhoto();

and change it to

jQuery("a[rel^='prettyPhoto']").add('.zoomer').add('.inner_main a:has(img.wpimgload)').prettyPhoto({social_tools: false});

then upload it to the server and replace the old file

Hey EvGreen!! Thank you so much for the absolutely fantastic template!! I finally finshed my website using this template and I wanted to show how much it can be customized to fit the look and feel a person may want!!! I love it!! Everything I needed!!

Also, thanks for all of your help in answering questions!

Warm Regards, Steven

EvGreen

hehe glad you like it :)

one thing I’ve noticed though – the small banner that replaced search is getting squeezed out of place on firefox, adding this to the panel input css tab should fix it:

.search{margin:0 17px 0 0;}

cheers

Thank you very much for pointing that out and for providing a solution. I am still a moderate web designer.

One quick question: Is there a way to create my own blog or do most websites intergrate Wordpress or a similar blogging service into their websites?

Thank you again for creating such a great template!! :)

EvGreen

It’s done in both ways, some use html website and separate blog manager+theme (under ie. blog.domain.com), and some use all in one solution.

There is a wordpress version of etherna as well :) with some additional features even. It’s a bit more complicated to modify though, compared to plain html.

cheers

I’m not buy your item yet. I have a question : I ‘d like to create a new grid color (which will be the same color than the logo). Is it just a CSS parameter? Good works

Philippe

EvGreen

if you mean additional color theme that you will make – it’s fairly easy, but if you mean that you want to change color of the white main block of the page, then it’d be quite a lot of work, mainly with images and sprites that it’s build of.

I’m seriously considering this theme – it’s lovely. But, is it possible to replace a theme color with one of my own choosing?

EvGreen

yep, I’d recommend getting wordpress version though, makes it much easier to change overall looks of the theme. WP version has 33 theme colors changeable via admin panel, plus 22 buttons colors. Both can be mixed, so you can have i.e. blue theme with orange buttons. On top of that there is background uploader, and color picker for the headings.

cheers

Brilliant! I expected to at least have to edit a bit of CSS to make the change. I’m looking forward to working with your theme.

Thank you for the incredibly quick response!

EvGreen

just make sure you get wp version instead :)
