Hello, How can I add a small image in the slogan area instead of your icon?

thanks for your help :)

EvGreen

just upload a image via the media button in wordpress, then grab the link to the image and put it inside the img tag like the image itself has it. you can also change the class to alignright if you want it to align to right

Also how can I add other colors on the pricing tables? :)

EvGreen

there should be a psd file with pricing table sprite, you can edit it there and then replace one of the colors, or for further edits – change the css/style.css (the not minified version of that file is in “non minified files for developers” folder)

Hi there,

I have recently intalled this on WP 3.5. When I try to upload the logo the area just greys and the add media options do not appear. Can you tell me step by step how to add the logo manually?

Also I have used the text in the help to add a testimonials widget to the footer. Basically if I add several testimonials, the footer expands to the size to accomodate them all however after loading it reverts to showing one testimonial at a time (which is what I want). Is there a way to stop the footer expanding?

Thanks!

EvGreen

hey,

1) – ye I need to fix that, you can upload the logo via ftp to wordpress/wp-content/themes/Etherna_WP/images/logo.png folder for now, or just pasting the image url into the upload field should work as well, sorry for inconvenience

2) – hmm the theme checks the height of all things in the footer on load so it can set all heights of the widgets to be the same (and the separating lines to stretch to whole height of the footer and not just end on height of the particular widget). To get that working with the testimonials, you’d have to edit plugins.js (there is a non-minified version in the folder that came with the theme), and make it omitt that check on that particular widget. Don’t know how good you are with jquery though :) There should be possibility as well to trick the script by just editing the css and making that widget have some artificial height that it can’t exceed (i.e height of the longest testimonial). You’d add something like this to etherna input css tab:

#that_widget_id{height:300px;overflow:hidden;}

should work as well

Hello, I’m trying to change the font and use some custom Japanese font, but I don’t seem to get it working I have downloaded the .ttf file, and created a file inside the theme called custom font.

I then went to the Etherna control panel in the input section and added

@font-face{ font-family:azumoji; src:url(‘C:\wampserver\www\wp-content\themes\ETHERNA\custom-font\azumoji.ttf’) format (“truetype”); }

to the CSS,

Tried to change the main menu font and added #menu {font-family: azumoji; font-size:1em; color:blue; } to the CSS file right under the previous line…but I wasn’t successful,

could you help me, as I’m very unfamiliar with this kind of manipulation, tried to do some research but failed miserably it seems :S any help would be appreciated, thanks again and I hope I am not asking too much.

Thanks!

EvGreen

you will need more than just one .ttf file, and also you will probably need to use azumoji in quotes like “azumoji” when adding the rules. Use this thing: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator , it should get you easy to add/replace code and files :)

Hello! Love the theme btw :-)!!! I would like to create a blog page, but only text shows up and not the special blog layout. It is not intended as the frontpage.

Another thing is, i would like to have smaller pictures showing up in the blog section. Not the big ones (full width). Hope this is possible some how.

Regards, Dennis

EvGreen

hey,

make sure you’ve got no page selected as the “posts page” (in settings=>reading), and then that the page that you created to use as blog has the blog template selected (when editing the page)

for the other thing – hmm you could edit blog.php,blog2.php category-blog.php single-blog.php etc and change the width cropping parameter that is there for those pics

cheers

Another question, do you recommend a special plugin for Etherna to show the newest articles in a sidebar widget with a tiny preview image? I couldn’t find a good one..

BR, Dennis

EvGreen

not anything that am familiar with, sorry. I’ve been using the popular posts plugin pretty much exclusively (the one added in the package)

Thanks again! it works now.

Hello, I love your theme. But we have a question, our wordpress is in 6 different languages??, we use the qTranslate plugguin, (link: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/qtranslate/) and the general Portfolio section, whenever a project is clicked when opened always redirects to the default language, which is not viewing the page at that time. As we do the work properly with each language portfolio? if you want visit our website is www.gotoclient.com. Thank you very much, we hope to answer!

EvGreen

seems the link in “read more” does not get overwritten by the plugin to reflect the /it/fr/de/ link changes, but why that happens – no idea. You should try to ask about it on the plugins support forum there on wordpress.org. The author of the plugin just knows how it behaves and probably will know what could cause this.

Oks, Thanks you very much!

Hi. nice theme. i have a problem that i see was written here before. when i go to Etherna Admin Panel and lick on save changes i get a 404 error. can you please help?

EvGreen

hey, there are few possible reasons behind this, but most common are: 1) you’ve installed the theme manually via ftp, and created the theme folder that has spaces in it, it must be space-less 2) your server has restrictions on wordpress files, you need to change the access rights on wordpress files to 755 (or 777, but 755 is safer) 3) there is something wrong with your servers permalinks handling (mod_rewrite), try to set the permalinks in wordpress to “default” 4) mod_security on your server is throwing false positive, and blocks the options going through, you need to mail your hosting provider and ask them to turn it off or perhaps make exception (if that is possible)

I think I’ve seen 1) and 4) the most

Hello,

I’m still having problems trying to change the font, I have downloaded and copied the kit generated by fontsquirel, uploaded the files into my server thru FTP (they are uploaded in content>theme>etherna>customfont) , and added this rule in the etherna control panel CSS input section:

@font-face { font-family: ‘kaorigelmedium’; src: url(‘kaorigel-webfont.eot’); src: url(‘kaorigel-webfont.eot?#iefix’) format(‘embedded-opentype’), url(‘kaorigel-webfont.woff’) format(‘woff’), url(‘kaorigel-webfont.ttf’) format(‘truetype’), url(‘kaorigel-webfont.svg#kaorigelmedium’) format(‘svg’); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;

} body {font-family: ‘kaorigelmedium’, Arial, Helvetica, Futura, sans-serif; font-size: 1em; padding:0; margin:0; }

but had no results.

My website is a combination of japanese and french, so I am wondering if it’s not the reason why it can’t load the japanese font, I don’t really know what to do at this point, I have been researching but w/o success so far, any idea why?

thanks again for your help:)

EvGreen

you probably did well, but just are missing one step – changing just the body declaration won’t have much impact, you need to scan through the css document (ctrl+f) for “font” or “font-family” and then add your new ‘kaorigelmedium’ instead of whatever the theme uses in the brackets there.

yeah, I changed it in the CSS but still nothing :S I have changed the rule too with @font-face { font-family: ‘kaorigelmedium’; src: url(’/wp-content/themes/ETHERNA/css/kaorigel-webfont.eot’); src: local(‘?’), url(’/wp-content/themes/ETHERNA/css/kaorigel-webfont.eot?#iefix’) format(‘embedded-opentype’), url(’/wp-content/themes/ETHERNA/css/kaorigel-webfont.woff’) format(‘woff’), url(’/wp-content/themes/ETHERNA/css/kaorigel-webfont.ttf’) format(‘truetype’), url(’/wp-content/themes/ETHERNA/css/kaorigel-webfont.svg#kaorigelmedium’) format(‘svg’); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;

} relocated the font files at the same place yours were at (titilliumtext) the font I am trying to use is http://www.fonts2u.com/kaorigel.font

the font family is probably the problem, the steps are correct i beleive, I will check with another font see if it works or not

I just read something interesting about japanese font, the reason why my font is probably not working is because japanese is based on 3 different characters, hiragana, katagana and kanji ( chinese characters). the font I have only has 2 characters, Hiragana and Katagana, there must be some conflict because in japanese all the characters are used, and so is my website, it’s also probably why most content in japanese websites are using very blunt font style ( same as in mine) the font file would be too big to load and use too much brand with in the end (5M is apparently very common for fully supported japanese font, the only fancy characters are actually loaded thru .gif files.

EvGreen

hmm isn’t kanji like just the traditional handwriting? anyways, I don’t know anything about japaneese fonts unfortunately, but found something that might be of use for you: http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA039499/ , also I believe there should be a droid sans font with japaneese characters, as google probably uses that on their android phones and that is open source and free. You can send me a link to the site as well, I can take a look if the css has no errors

How do I add more space to the header container to accommodate a larger logo at the top of the page. I tried adjusting the css header file code from 108px to 300 px and this threw the rest of menu and page code off.

Thanks!

EvGreen

don’t change the css, there is an option for that in the etherna panel, in logo tab. It’s called “headroom” :)

Hello there,

Finally got around to installing the theme and it’s great. I do have one question though. Using the testimonials on the footer, even though only one is shown at a time, it seems that the more you add, the bigger the footer gets with “dead space”. Is there any way to stop this?

Site is here: http://radianceaudio.co.uk/site/

Cheers, Sam

EvGreen

hey, something like #footer .widget{max-height:320px !important} should do the trick

One of my final questions :). In the right top corner of the site, you are showing a number + email. How can i remove this and place a custom text with a surrounding frame. And/Or how can i place an advertorial there?

Again many thanks!

EvGreen

there is a tab in etherna admin panel – “advanced user” switch the radio to yes there and you can edit the markup for that space then

Default-user

Works, thank you!

Hello, Thanks for this wonderful theme, i love it!

But i have a problem, is there any way i can force a widget into each page? I am running a ecommerce store on this theme, everything looks good, a part that the widget doesn’t show up.

Is there an easy fix to this problem? I tried various plugins to tell the page where to insert the widget, didn’t have any luck. I will gladly pay you guys to customize it for me, if it’s a tricky one :)

Regards, GS

EvGreen

well, there is easy way :) just drop your widget into sidebar-01 and use the sidebar shortcode on the pages that you want

[sidebar id="sidebar-01"]

just remember to wrap that sidebar shortcode with grid shortcode, otherwise it will take all available space to itself

I really appreciate your answer. I ended up putting the widget from the Cart66 ecommerce plugin (cart plugin) in the header, as i couldn’t add it without adding it into the content page. Have a good one :)

Dear EvGreen,

Do you recommend to perform an upgrade to the latest version of Wordpress? 3.5.1? My current installation is 3.3.1.

All the best! Dennis

EvGreen

there is an issue with uploading logo in 3.5, but otherwise it’s all good so yeah, I’d recommend update. But it depends more on the plugins that you use, check if they are compatible with 3.5

Works as a charm!! Tnx

Hi! Awesome theme!!

Quick question: how do I enable comments for the regular pages? Not the the blog posts, but the regular pages. I’m looking to add Livefyre for enhanced commenting. This is the site I’m working on: http://howtogetdreads.com/

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks! Chamira

EvGreen

check out single-blog.php there is a call for comments there, copy that and put it into index.php in same location

chamirastudios

I pasted and copied comments_template(); ?> from single-blog.php to index.php in the same spot, but with no luck. Is there another part of it I’m missing? I really appreciate your help!

EvGreen

make sure you make it look like this: http://prntscr.com/rmug9 , that one is working, just tested it. If still no comments check if you have comments enabled on the page in it’s screen options (discussion) (upper right when editing page, then at the bottom when discussion is enabled)

Sorry if this has been asked but is there a way to change the permalinks for portfolio?

Currently they’re like this

.com/designsentry_portf/

I’m still using an older version of the theme Etherna WP 1.0a

EvGreen

ye, in /functions/ds_sortables.php change the array to look like this: http://prntscr.com/rb8c1 (the rewrite is what you look for). after changing, go to settings, and in permalinks switch to default then back to what you were using and after short while the change should propagate

cheers
