Hello Alaja and fellow purchasers. The write up and feature on Themeforest is an old one. I would like to know:
Is this theme responsive? Secondly. I see that the theme supports unlimited colour variation. Does it also allow for background imagery to be installed as opposed to colour schemes?
Many thanks,
Chris
Hello Chris, thank you for your interest in Europa. No, theme isn’t responsive. and there are no built-in functional for background imagery, only through the manual css editing.
Ah, thankyou for your reply. Responsiveness is something quite important to me as many people in South Africa will visit links given to them, by smartphone or mobile device.
I have looked everywhere for a decently designed, simplistic, minimal website theme like yours.
Would it be a difficult thing to make this theme responsive? I have some coding knowledge and I’m willing to get into it.
It seems that europa’s design isn’t good enough for responsive transformation. It will require a decent amount of work, but result may vary. Fortunately, ThemeForest expanding responsive sector of themes everyday and you can find something that highly fits your needs. Thank you again for your interest and we sure today that all of our products will be handcrafted with design, simplistic and responsiveness in mind.
Thank you for the great theme and support.
I have a question regarding the slideshow gallery on the Portfolio Item (Works) pages. Is there any way to show the slideshow control arrows to navigate to the previous/next image. I have this enabled for the home page slider, but what about for the portfolio slideshow?
Thank you.
Hi, good evening.
First, congratulations, it is a great theme. Second, some doubts:
1 – This theme works nice with chrome and firefox, but in internet explorer 8.0 e 9.0 it doesn´t work very well. The styles seems confused, and the theme changes a lot, with a lot of things disappearing. Is it normal?
2 – This is the domain, if you want to see the problems: http://tragikhouse.com/
3 – We didn´t make a wordpress upgrade yet, and I´m afraid: if I do this in this case, Will I lost some content? Or upgrade isn´t relevant?
I really need your help because I´m not a programmer and I have to fix this more fast as possible.
My contact: tragikhouse@gmail.com
Thank you so much.
Europa theme was fully rewritten from scratch in November’11. However in case of file rewrite – there will be problems with an old WP setup and we recommend you to use new installation if you want to transfer site to the last Europa version. You may use your old setup as working site while importing, setting up & tune new installation on your server. Then when you done – just make the new installation active. You may consult your hoster how to manage several WordPress installations.
How I remove the second row of menus? 5 months ago you replied this question, but the link to get the line of code is not active.
Thanks,
Use this http://pastie.org/pastes/5189520/text code inside Custom CSS box.
Thanks for the quick response. It works, but now the slider is covering the top logo. How I can position the slider below the logo?
Try this http://pastie.org/pastes/5336634/text code inside Custom CSS box. The #main padding-top variable (2nd string) approximately equal to your logo height + 40px.
Perfect. Thank you!
After updating the theme, the thumbnail size 150×150 px is not working anymore. Even when I try to edit the thumbnail image I get the following message:
“Could not load the preview image. Please reload the page and try again.” Do you know what is the reason? Thanks for your help.
What update exactly do you mean? Try to re-upload the thumbnail image.
I’m referring when I updated the theme from the previous version to the latest version.
Basically the standard 150×150 thumbnail, that used to work automatically, now uses different sizes such 99×150px, etc. Look this page for the non-square thumbnai. http://mondodinner.com/Thanks!
Thanks for describing and providing the URL . Please find and open europa>theme>setup.php and edit line #31 with instructions http://pastie.org/pastes/5383045/text
Then re-upload new thumbnails.
Thank you for the quick response. It worked perfectly! One more question, do you know how I can reduce the padding on the thumbnails and fit 6 columns on the page instead of 5.
Many thanks! http://mondodinner.com/Add this css rule:
body.home #content a.lightbox img { margin: 0 }
Many thanks for your help!
Add new rule & replace at the start body.home (‘home’ class) to the custom body class on the requested page. For example body.page-id-2910, or body.page-template-template-portfolio-i-php etc (check HTML src of the page to know that class).
Thanks. Thanks. Thanks. Love this theme!
I bought this theme about 1.5 years ago and have been very happy with it. My site was recently hacked and I need to replace the theme as It no longer functions. Can I get a copy of v1.21? When I download the current it does not load my portfolios and options. I would prefer not having to do all that work again. Thanks.
Message us from http://themeforest.net/user/alaja and we’ll send that version to you.
I have europa installed (from before the rewrite) with numerous portfolio works and some basic css customization. I installed the newest version of europa as a duplicate on my website. So I had the old custom theme and then the new default theme.
All of my works for the old theme didn’t show in my new default theme under the works custom post type. But when I would activate my old euripa theme, the works would be there. So I figure the works and post type are stored within the theme?
My problem came about when I activated the new default europa theme and added a new work. It looked fine, but when I reactivated the old europa theme as before, the works custom post type in the amin panel disappeared, along with all my projects. What do you think happened and how do I get my works to reappear?
Hello,
Works for old and new europa’s are various entities, they have different inner structure and functionality, and stored in WP database as different structures. For reason that they shouldn’t mess with each other.
Can’t say that happened but we sure that your projects still in your WP database. You may try to activate default wp theme, update europa theme files on the server from packages and then activate again. If you have anywhere stored URLs to your published old projects – check it. Check the update settings > permalinks.
Sincerely, Alaja
Thank you, alaja. I’m not sure what the issue was caused by, but I just restored a backup MYSQL database file through CPanel to update the Wordpress database and it all went back to normal. Always good to have backups! Thanks for your speedy reply, as always!
1. Where can I see the demo of this theme? Need some shortcodes and other inspiration…
2. Does this theme work with WP 3.5 and will it’s developement be continued?
Hello! Development of Europa has been stopped, however rewritten (Nov’11) theme support WP 3.4 & 3.5 out of the box. There is no demo today, but message us if you need to get shortcodes support.
Sincerely, Alaja
is it possible to integrate a social network plugin over the lightbox? i.e. when they click on the image it will show the share button for facebook something like that.
We recommend you to use custom wordpress lightbox plugins, supporting share buttons for facebook and something like that. For example http://codecanyon.net/item/social-gallery-wordpress-photo-viewer-plugin/2665332 Codecanyon.net has a lot of good plugins, and, that’s more important, with a good support. Just choose what you need.
Hello,
The most easiest way to manage the publish date & time of the work.
Sincerely, Alaja
I’m sorry, I don’t understand. What is the easiest way to manage the publish date and time of work?
Please click Edit in Publish options http://cl.ly/MydH
got it – thanks so much
Light-box not working:
When I post a new work in a portfolio page the first two post fine and the light-box works well. After that I have the rest posted all click through as if I didn’t tick off the light-box radial button. I’ve taken the same steps for each but there seems to be an issue or a bug.
Please help, I’m stumped. See link below.
http://galleryhouse.ca/?page_id=3639&preview=trueSolved, it’s how you upload images. You cannot bulk upload images with the new media upload feature. For some reason it won’t link the feature image.
It works if you upload one at a time and delete any old images that were bulk uploaded.
Thank you for letting us know.
can you help me figure out what these error messages mean please. www.bunnellarts.com

Please open 404.php in theme folder and remove all header functions (lines #3, #4). Something conflict with them, maybe a plugin.
