It’s telling me that Support is only for paid members… I did pay for this theme so I am confused as to why I cannot get support.

Here are the answers: 1. Q: Does it work on mobile devices ok? Like Phones and Ipads? A: Eventor is not responsive theme, but it will look good on most smartphones and tablets.
2. Q: Is it possible to put use a background image rather than just plain colours? A: Yes, with few tweaks in style.css file.
