Hello Simon, the “next-fixture” is blocking some of my menu items on some screens. Is there a way to set the the “next-fixture” box to always be above the menu container regardless of the of the screen size? It can still disappear if the screen is too small (mobile users). I’ve attached 2 pictures to demonstrate what I mean.

Next-fixture box is on the menu and blocks a few menu items: http://i.imgur.com/0GtAjTy.png

Next-fixture box is above the menu and doesn’t block anything: http://i.imgur.com/KdTLjmq.png

Please advise

Hi, yes in the custom css field of the theme options you can add:

    #site-header .right { padding-top: 0px; }
    #site-nav .next-fixture { bottom: 58px; }
        #site-nav .next-fixture span.label { display: none; }

Cheers

Hi there,

Can I use this theme for cricket? And if not will it support a plugin such as sportspress?

thanks

Hi, it’s not designed to support any other sports management plugins, that plugin does have some themes that they’ve released though: https://themeboy.com/sportspress/themes/

As for my plugin, I know some people have used it for cricket, you can download the plugin for free https://wordpress.org/plugins/simnor-sports-club-manager/ and try it with another theme, the design of the elements (fixtures tables etc.) come from the plugin, not the theme, so if it works for you on another theme, then it will work in much the same way on this theme.

Cheers, Simon

Thanks, I have had a look through the documentation and it seems very versatile. Just one last question. It looks possible but the club also has social netball and basketball – will it be fine to display the fixtures/players of the different sports by using and assigning menu’s?

Hi, it’s not really designed for multiple sports, but you can filter the fixture tables to just show for each individual team, and so you can in theory show a different sport on a different page but you wont be able to use the select field to toggle between the different teams, as that will just bring in all the teams on the site.

Hi, Great theme, one issue – the banner isn’t showing up on the page. I am building it on a localhost, would this be the cause? thanks.

Hi, I wouldn’t be able to diagnose it without seeing the site I’m afraid. As long as you’ve followed the instructions in the documentation then it should show. You could try disabling plugins in case there’s a JavaScript conflict somewhere.

Hi,

Is it possible to change the size of the footer text to be the same as the navigation (and subsequent padding to decrease)?

thanks for your help!

Hi, you might need to link to the actual category because that title section is the category title and description, notice in the demo it goes to the blog category: http://evergreenpa.org/themes/evergreen-sports/category/blog/

Cheers, Simon

Hi, I tried adding all the posts to one category, however still no change?http://grab.by/HRLc

All sorted cheers

How can I make the Featured image in a post not show up in the category view? http://screencast.com/t/ZWOc7YnF3

Hi, if you add:

.post-archive .post-thumbnail { display: none; }

to the custom css field in the theme options then it will hide the image from the category view.

Cheers, Simon

thank you. How about only displaying a summary for my list of posts? I set “Summary” in the reading section however it is still showing the entire post.

Hi, the theme uses the more tag to determine what text to show on the archive pages, there’s more information on that in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEYtACE7KVU

Hey Evergeenpa,

thanks before for this nice template! I´ve buyed it for a sports club in my city and dont want to modify so much. My question is just: Can you give me a example full version (theme + wp) ? So that I just have to edit some things… Im new with wp and have not so much time.

It would be really nice if you could do this for me! Thanks at all Marvin

Hi, we only provide the theme for sale, you’ll need to contact your web host to ask about options on how to install WP. There is a demo file available with the fixtures so you can import those, you can download that here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/336vh5f4lpl6xi5/evergreen-sports-dummy-data.xml?dl=0

How can i hide the homepage slider on mobile? and also increase the height of the header area on mobile? currently the social icons overlap my logo on mobile.

Thank you

In the custom css field, add:

@media (max-width: 481px) and (min-width: 0px) {
    #home-slider { display: none; }
    #site-header .container { height: 140px; }
}

You may need to tweak the height number depending on how much space you need.

How can I disable the link to the actual game but no the arrows below at the bottom of the upcoming fixtures? http://screencast.com/t/8p520eMnInY

Hi, in the custom css field in the theme options, add this:

.widget .upcoming-fixtures li .location { margin-top: -120px; padding-top: 120px; }

That will add padding to the top of the location text which overlays the link making the link unclickable.

Hi Simon,

I seem to be having a problem with the ordering of players. It is showing 22 before 3 instead of 2. Also if there is no player image the layout all gets screwed up.

Here you can see. Is there some way to fix this ?

http://andorracricketclub.com/team/

Thanks Martin

Hi. I fixed the layout by putting in images in the right format (300×350). However the player order is still broken (also in the widget too). It goes 1-22-2-3….how can I fix that ?

OK Post-Types Order plugin fixed the player order. So all sorted. Forget about this post now :)

Hi, sorry for the delay, glad you managed to fix this.

On the fixtures page I notice a large scroll box at the top, anyway to remove this? http://screencast.com/t/Y6d0gKhyAJ

Hi, do you have a link to your site so I can investigate further please.

Hi, I not had problems with the box “next fixtures”, but today I upgraded my fixtures and the box it’s blocked and don’t shows the next fixtures, only the next inmediatly, i need help, please. My page is www.futbolprimerodemayo.org

Hi, have you enabled a plugin called “post slider” lately? There’s a JavaScript error in that plugin which may be affecting the next fixtures widget.

Hello evergreenpa We really like your theme and think it could be a good solution for our swimming club. The only problem is we don’t have ‘teams’ as such. We hold regular swimming events and would like to display it on the home page as you have displayed the next fixture and upcoming feature. Are we able to modify the theme to be able to just display fixtures without teams? Many thanks

Hi, I’m afraid not as it’s very much a team on team plugin and theme so it’s wont really work without two teams, you’d be better off with a theme that is for events in general.

Sorry about that.

Cheers, Simon

Thanks for your honesty Simon, very much appreciated.

Hi, Is there a way to remove comments from the posts?

Hi, there’s a tutorial here explaining how to do that: https://www.simplethemes.com/tutorials/help/disable-comments-in-wordpress

Hello, very nice plugin. I am manager of a tennis club and thought to use your plugin. I installed for a better look and realized that he is focused on soccer. Field and settings were made thinking in this sport.

How do I use for Tennis? I can use in my tennis academy for managing the tournaments?

Hi, I’m afraid, it wouldn’t be suitable for tennis tournaments, it’s a plugin for team on team sports.

Sorry about that.

Cheers

Hello,

I want to have alle my post in the latest post on het homepage to have a white background. I uses the code .widget ul li, .{ background-color: #ffffff } but it doesn’t work with all the news item. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I’m not sure what section you’re referring to, but in your css you have a extra punctuation, that code should be:

.widget ul li { background-color: #FFFFFF; }

not

.widget ul li, .{ background-color: #ffffff }

Hi – I am having a few issues with the Home Page slider (the Home slider which appears in full widescreen under the menu bar). Recently it is taking ages for it to load. It eventually loads around 2 minutes after the rest of the homepage. Any reason for this? The images I am using are not massive and in the past it loaded very quickly so it is only recent issue.

Seems to have resolved itself somehow – not sure how :-)

Hi, it is possible to have one page for each team? Like a page for First Team and another page for Under 21s. thanks

Yes, you just need to use the shortcode [players team=”Team Name”] replacing Team Name with the name of your team.

Hi there, great theme!
I would like to add some pictures to the home page slider, but I assigned the page_home.php template to a regular (a non-static and non-home page). For some reason, I can no longer access the theme customizations page. Is there a fix for this or a work around?
Many thanks, Franklin

Hi, what’s the theme customisations page? Do you mean the customizer?

Cheers

Hi I am trying to use the ‘custom css’ field in the styling tab of the theme options to reduce the font sizes for headings in various places, including posts appearing on the home page and the post itself, page names etc etc copying the relevant CSS sections and changing the font size for h1, h2 etc seems to have no effect (it did work for the slider content and home announcement) thanks

The content areas are styled with #content in front of them, so if you wanted to change the text size for the heading 2 in the content area then you’d need to use ”#content h2” in the css.

Cheers
