Hello, thanks for your support!
I am running into a problem with the short code that generates the toggles.
Everything was working fine before but now when I try to format my text with HTML tags the toggle breaks.
I am running version 1.3 and all my plugins are updated.
I am hesitant to update the theme files with the worry that all my custom editing will me lost.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, you can’t add custom html into the toggles as it’s a text attribute. If you do then you need to ensure you don’t accidentally close the attribute by using a quotation mark, if you want to add html then in the html itself replace the quotations with standard apostrophise’s: http://pastie.org/9747078

Hi,

I love this theme and the Simnor sports club manager. I just have a problem with the home page. I have slider, widgets on the right and footer but how to add sommething on the middle to the homepage, underneath the annoucement. It’s a widget? If yes, wich one? On your live preview, you have a picture and text.

Thanks for your help!

evergreenpa

Hi, it’s a page, if you take a look at the “Setting up the home page” section of the documentation: http://evergreenpa.org/evergreen-themes/evergreen-sports/documentation/ it’ll tell you how to set that up.

Hi, I am seeing what looks to be a bug when clicking on a picture from an embedded gallery in a post. The picture appears alone, a bit bigger, in a new blank page but appears also on the left of each post on the right of the page (where I added “ES latest post” widget) It does not happen when clicking on a picture in a post when the pic is not embedded in a gallery. I have a snapshot here : http://www.acssquashcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/picture_bug.png

Is it a known issue ? If yes, is there a post talking about such issue and resolution proposal somewhere ? Thanks for your support

Hi, To be more precise, I do not create galleries for my post/pages with the main menu in wordpress, on themain left column. I create gallery on the fly within the “Add media” button on each wordpress post/page creation. In that “add media”, I do “create a gallery -> (select N images) -> insert to page—> (a menu appears with 3 settings on the right. A random button, a column selector and a menu with 3 choices : page of the attached file / media file / none”. So, to make sure I understand your workaround proposal : Do you mean to select “Media file” (my wordpress is in French sorry) in that setting menu of the “on the fly” gallery creation ? ACS

evergreenpa

Yes I think that’s the option, it’s different in English but I guess that’s the correct select field.

Thanksfor this workaround, it worked. Hope you’ll find the bug for the next theme version release.

Hello there! For some reason no pages I create show the widgets under General Sidebar. I have the page set for the default template.

Is there a setting I’m missing or something?

Thanks for your help.

whoops … missed a checkbox in theme settings. Awesome theme!!

Hi, On our website home page, we have added 2 home widgets (bottom side) and a couple of home sidebar widgets (right side). I realized that if the home page text is smaller than the height of the home sidebar widgets total sizes, the home widgets on the bottom don’t appear right after the text but after the end of the last home sidebar widget. Is that an expected behavior? Is that something changeable somewhere so that I can have my home widgets right after my home page text? (no matter how many widgets I have on the right column i.e sidebar). BTW, I have added in my custom.css (just in case ;-) : .home-widgets { overflow: visible; } but seems not related…

evergreenpa

You would need to move the home widgets section to before the < /div><!- end content-> line but as that’s a customisation, it’s not covered under the support policy.

Cheers

Default-user

thanks for this feedback. I have done another trick then(within policy i think ) to re-arrange the widgets to put 3 of them in the “home widgets” section and few ones in the home page sidebar so that it looks like as if the home widgets do appear just after the home text

Hi, I am trying to hide the “next fixture” in all pages because the site has many menus. so I added this in the custom.css, like Simon suggested 1 month ago : #site-nav .next-fixture { display: none!important; }

but it seems to not work. I still see the Next feature box covering my menus. Any feedback ? or something I am doing wrong ?

Default-user

Well…. I do more extensive test and I found out that ANY // comments in that custom CSS is messing up the code execution. Sometimes works, sometime doesn’t. So I completely removed my comments around the code and the next fixture appearance over menu is gone now. I will need to investigate what a Child theme is and how to put comments in custom CSS without messing up the code execution…

evergreenpa

Hi, comments in CSS can’t have //, that’s a php thing, in css you need to add them as /* comment here */

THanks you for your reply. Is there a plan to make custom CSS area larger in the theme options/Styling ? we can make it bigger vertically but not horizontally. This would be nice

Hi, I encountered the same issue as Vogellisi user (post from 7 months ago) where the fixture table got dates removed on big screen. You recommended firs to add this in custome.css : http://pastie.org/9159669 then a better version : http://pastie.org/9167878 But for our website, this second version does not work on laptop size of screen or half of it. Here is a snapshot of what we are seeing : http://www.acssquashcenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Fixture_table_issue.jpg

Any idea to solve this ?

evergreenpa

Hi, this is because in your custom.css file you’ve added links to the pastie code, this breaks the comments and stops part of the css from loading, so if you remove these lines:

//http://pastie.org/9159669

and

//http://pastie.org/9167878

then the changes will come through properly

Gotcha !! I would never have thought the // comments, like in C language, would have an impact on the CSS. Thank you. I learned something today :-)

Hi,

When I get my data fixtures, I always upload the logos of each team but I see they appear nowhere, is this normal?

Thanks!

evergreenpa

It should only appear on the fixtures table when placed inside the page content, it wont appear in the widgets as there isn’t enough room.

Hi there.

Pre-purchase question. What framework does the theme use and has anyone used Visual Composer with it?

Many thanks

AndrewJ

evergreenpa

It doesn’t use a framework and I wouldn’t know if it’s compatible with Visual Composer, it uses the standard the_content(); tag so if it works with that then it should but I’ve never tested it so you might be better off going with a theme that supports it out of the box.

Hi,

first I have to say very nice theme. But I missing the option to show the team on upcoming fixtures, because we have a lot of teams I wanna show on the welcome page.

Thanks!

evergreenpa

Hi, it’s a widget that you can add via the Appearance -> Widgets page, are you not seeing it there?

That isn’t the problem. I wanna add the “TEAM” who is playing on fixture. As shown in the example. Perhaps you can tell the wp-code I have to add. I don’t wann add for every team a widget on welcome page, that look very unattractive.

evergreenpa

I’m sorry I don’t understand. You set the team in the widget options: http://cl.ly/image/1p271S0q1M1n or set it to show all teams. If you want to edit the code directly then it’s in includes/theme-widgets.php around line 236

Hi – Problem has just manifested itself on my site. The widget on the top right side of homepage is now missing completely and the spacing above the bottom three widgets has gone. Everything was working fine up until today. Can you please advise? Site is at www.killoegaa.ie

Hi – I have restored the structure, but the issue seems to have been that the ‘Image’ widget is now gone completely as an option. I have had to work around this by using the ‘Text’ widget and inserting the image that way. Any idea why the ‘Image’ widget option is now gone?

evergreenpa

HI, there wasn’t an image widget option, there was a gallery option, could that be what you’re referring to?

hi Simon,

How do I get my website work on the mobile device? Is it possible to resize the Home slider and header images? currently it doesn’t work on the mobile device. Here is the website address www.brasiltopskills.com

Default-user

hi Simon, as always thanks for your quick response. Above code has fixed the slider image re-size issue. Also I have changed the header image from the background to a logo. But now I see some white spaces around a logo image. How do I make the logo image stick to the Menu and also resize it on the mobile phone?

evergreenpa

Hi, sorry for the delay, I’ve been unwell so haven’t been able to check in on comments. The way you’re doing it isn’t really possible if you want it responsive, what you need to do is have the logo as a separate image and then use the background as the background image like you had previously.

Alternatively, if you go back to how you were doing it before, and added this line to the #site-header css:

background-size: 100% auto;

that would make the background image always be 100% width, however you’d need to set heights for the site header as it would likely get cut off.

Cheers

Default-user

hi Simon, I hope you are feeling better now. After your suggestion, both header and slider images are now showing properly on the desktop and mobile devices. Only issue left now is the white spaces around the menu on mobile device. any idea how to sort this out?

Hello great work for this theme i have a problem and i don’t found the solution my menu don’t work normally with ipad device and smartphone device can you help me please

http://www.grenoble-smhguc.fr/site/
evergreenpa

Hi, sorry for the delay. In regards to your menu issue, it’s because you’ve set a height for the #site-nav element in your custom.css:

#site-nav {
        background-color: #ffffff;
        height: 58px;
        border-bottom: 2px solid #316d9e;
        clear: both;
        color: #c51617;
}

Once you get to the mobile menu browser width it needs to go back to height: auto, so adding this to your css should work:

@media all and (max-width: 720px) {
#site-nav { height: auto; }
}

Cheers

Hi my friend,

as we are going to release our new website next week i got one last question. I uploaded a logo to the header instead of the text. The logo has a width of 800 px. As you can imagine the logo will be cut off when you are browsing our website with a device which has a lower width than 800 px. Is it possible to show for devices below this width the site title or a smaller logo instead?

As always thanks in advance!

Cheers

evergreenpa

Hi, you can set a maximum width for the logo by adding this CSS in the Custom CSS field of the theme options:

#site-header .logo { max-width: XX%; }
#site-header .logo img { max-width: 100%; height: auto; }

Replacing XX on the top line with a number, you’ll need to trial and error it to see what the best number is for your site, but it’ll likely be around 70%.

Cheers
