Hi! Is it possible to not crop pictures at all?
For example: if it’s full-height and width of window is smaller than width of picture the picture is scaled down to fit the width of window (preserving aspect ratio).
This can be very easily accomplished with a small CSS modification (I already have the CSS snippet that needs to be inserted).
Can you post the needed modification here, so I could try it on live demo with firebug?
I have created a tutorial for this, you can check it here.
Request: Video upload with html5 player. i know youtube is there but it can be very cumbersome. and upload on wordpress may be heavy so the ability to upload via ftp would make it perfect.
Thanks for your request – I will add it to my request list, we usually implement the most requested features in updates, so if this is a highly requested one, we will consider it for the future development of the theme.
Happy to see that this theme is child theme enabled.
Since others have mentioned this I thought I’d chime in about a masonry blog etc.
I’m looking for a theme that has a Category filter top (barline style drop down?) irregular various sized images Masonry layout for blog post and portfolio pages. Pinterest like etc.
The other I am looking for is retina display since most of potential users will have iPhones or desktop Mac large displays; extreme ends of the display scales.
Always concerned about frameworks and maintenance of them—what are you using?
Some of my research that may be of interest:

I ask some questions before purchase theme.
There are a lot of image gallery in WP Expression Demo but people don`t find that what are they looking for. Do you think make a search box for image gallery on homepage? Because if there is not a simple search option or an advenced search option, its useless for visitors. Visitors see just lastest galleries. For example, i would like to see “sad people” keyword or “fruits” keyword etc. Visitor would like to search anything.
Also Do you make a comment option for each picture in image gallery? Visitors like picture so much or have an idea about picture but they dont comment it. There is a “Share” button but there isnt a “Comments” button.
Thank you for the interest
If you need a Search functionality, you can use the default WordPress search – you can see an example in the sidebar of the Blog page. By default the gallery doesn’t provide a search field, but it can be added with one line of code on top of the items for example.
Regarding comments – by default the gallery slider doesn’t provide a comments section, simply because it is designed so that most of the page space is allocated by the image. If you need a comments section you can instead make the item a standard page item where you can insert a quick gallery with the images. For example, when you click on the item in the gallery, you can be redirected to a page like this one where you can enable comments.
For in my mind? Please, look at the pictures below. http://e1211.hizliresim.com/13/5/fndbp.png http://e1211.hizliresim.com/13/5/fndcd.jpg
The gallery doesn’t support the features you have described in the screenshots and implementing this would require some more additional coding, so if you need these functionalities implemented into the gallery you will need to hire a freelancer to implement them for you (if you don’t have coding experience). Regarding the comments option – in my comment above I have explained some alternatives that you can use.
Please check my reply to your comment above.
hey there P.
1. is it RTL (heb)/WPML compatible?
2. is there a link/screenshot to the theme panel to understand it a bit?
3. last Q but important: few weeks ago ive baught a theme and 2 days after the author “quit” the site and since then i had no support. what about u???
Thank you for the interest Here are my answers:
1 WPML – I have done some tests of the main functionality and it was working well. RTL – I’m not really familiar with using RTL languages, so I can’t really say for sure. Generally it is a standard theme, but if you want, you can test setting RTL properties with Firebug on the demo to see how it will go.
2. You can watch the general presentation of the Pexeto Panel here and you can watch a video about creating a gallery here
3. There are thousands of users using our themes and the support we provide is regular.
?I can not create thumbnail images in portfolio gallery, unless you use “custom thumbnail Url”
I am following the method described in the documentation:
“By default the first image of the images you have added will be used as the item’s thumbnail. If you would like to set another image as thumbnail, you have to set it as featured image to the item. To do this, click on the “Show” link of the image”
but doesn’t work, what should i do.
P.S. Meanwhile please also check this article.
I tried to log in http://pexetothemes.com/support/, tells me I’m already registered, I insert a username and password, but it says that my password is incorrect,
I click on lost password, but I do not get the email password.
anyway now it works, I changed the permissions to the cache folder
Yes, I can see that you are registered and that you have opened a ticket a few months ago. You may have made a typo in the email address that you got registered with, so this may be the reason for not getting the password reset emails. If you want, you can send me a private message by using our profile contact form, so I can send you back a temporary password.
I would very much like to buy your theme, i absolutely love it. However I have no experience with wordpress so I am unfamiliar with it’s power/limitations.
Could you please tell me if what I want would be possible?
I would like to be able to use the same menu (look, menu-items, e.c.t.) on different sections of my website but with different links.
For example on the section about baby photography where the menu-items pricing and info and portfolio would point to pages on baby photography. Then when they choose maternity photography they would find the same menu only then only pointing to pages concerning the maternity photography.
Only on the entry page the menu stucture would have to be a bit different since there would have to be a link to published work, blog e.c.t.
Would that be possible? I have noticed installing WP with my ISP and installing a freebee theme to try thing out I can easily change menu items and stuff, but it mentioned the theme only supported one menu. So I hope more advanced themes offer multiple options.
Also, I still have a lot of customers using IE7 , will the theme not work at all with IE7 or is it possible to implement an [IF] to redirect old browsers to the ole website.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
I’m glad you like the theme
Generally having different menus on different pages is not a standard functionality in WordPress and web and the theme doesn’t support such kind of option. Alternatively, one option would be to have a different menu in the sidebar – you can see an example of a menu in the sidebar here – you can have different sidebar menus in the different pages. Another option would be to create a Network (multi-site installation) and build different sites for the different menus you want and everywhere enable the theme.
Regarding IE7 – as you can see in the theme’s description IE7 is not officially supported (IE8 and above is officially supported), however the theme still works well with IE7 . If you have the chance, I would suggest to test it by yourself.
Thanks for your reply,
The main address would be like an entrance to different websites, so newborn photography would have a website and so would wedding and fine-art. So the menu in the sidebar won’t work. I would have to check with my ISP but I am afraid a multisite installation is not an option, you can only activate one theme at once.
Will there be a HTML version any time soon? Or would it be hard to convert the theme to HTML ? I don’t really need WP since these individual sites would be static anyway.
I have looked at over 200 theme’s and your is the one I love most so I don’t mind some tweaking (maybe just make the menu static, would that be possible?) to be able to use it.
From your explanation, I think multisite installation would be the best solution – in case you are not familiar with this, a multisite installation is a standard WordPress installation which allows you to create multiple sites in it with different content on each of them and for each site you can activate different themes or the same theme if you want – you can read more about this here. Otherwise, I think it will be easy with a few modifications to set different menus on different pages by using custom fields.
Regarding HTML version – currently there isn’t an HTML version of the theme, only a WordPress version is available and at this point we are not planning to release an HTML version.
Thanks for your reply. Turned out to be no problem at all perform a multiple site installation That totally solves it so I just bought your theme.
I hope you will enjoy working with the theme
please can i put a “portfolio” in a normal page with other text or ongli in a “grid template gallery” ?
very interested in purchasing this, however i was looking at another similarly functioning WP theme and they mentioned that each gallery had a limit of 10 photos once the lightbox popped up. just wanted to make sure there weren’t limits on the number of photos that could be placed inside a gallery with this theme.
can the NIVO slider be set to not have any transition effects?
also could you post a quick tutorial on how to include the JQuery and turn the blog posts into the masonry style?
lastly, can the weird little grid that’s on like full height and full width galleries be removed? there’s a like gray grid over the photos.
- you can insert as many images you like to the item – there is no limit.
- there is an option included to select which effects to be used in the slider – if you want you can disable all the other effects and leave the “fade” effect only, which is the most simple and clean one.
- I can’t really say for sure, as I don’t know if this would be something that can be explained in a few steps. I will keep this in mind though, so I may give it a try.
- yes, the overlay pattern can be disabled (there is an option included)
after a lot of searches, I finally chose that theme which correponds to most of what I was searching for.
Congrats for the work you made, you succeeded in combining tech features like responsive design and a strong focus on what’s important: the pics.
I try to use that theme in a multilanguage aspect, by using both qTranslate and the “Enable translation” Pexeto option. I have then a question concerning qTranslate (more a HTML /CSS question actually).
This plugin sounds to work perfectly with your theme! I want to add the language switcher in the header of each page.
It is recommended to put the following code in header.php, which works: <?php echo qtrans_generateLanguageSelectCode(‘both’); ?>
Thing is it does not render really well (inserted the code after line 196, div id = menu-container).
An image of the result: http://s7.postimage.org/n2s6ov8cb/qtranslate_switcher_firefox.jpg
What should I do to have a nice integration of that code? Modify CSS , more header.php modification?
N.B. : that language switcher can be on the menu’s left or right!
If needed, I can send you the header file.
P.S. : I saw after that language switcher add may circumvent with the social icons displayed when the menu width is large enough for that… :/
Thanks, I’m glad the theme corresponds to what you were searching for
to post your support questions. Thank you!
- How is it for SEO ?
- Is there anyway to have the photos links on the home page link to pages rather than galleries?
Ie as a featured image for a page, rather than connecting to a gallery?
- Is there a way fo the navigaion bar to be vertical (say on the left side) rather than horizonal?
Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme
You can make an item link to a page – there is an option to link it to its single page or to link it to another custom page (you can see an example in the Mixed Gallery page, on the “Standard page” item) and if you want to improve this for SEO , it is recommended that you create a sitemap with these pages, so that the crawlers that don’t support AJAX content loading can index these pages. Otherwise, regarding the markup – we have tried to follow the best SEO practices, however you should always keep in mind that what matters most for SEO is your text content and you have to insert lots of text content describing your site in order to have high SEO results.
Regarding the menu – the theme supports a horizontal menu only, I’m sorry.
Hello, great theme! Couple of questions.
I assume the full width slideshow can be set to be the home page. Also, is it possible to password protect particular galleries?
Yes, you can set the full-width slideshow to be your home page. Regarding password protected galleries – you can have a password protected quick gallery – you can see an example here (use “pexeto” as password). You can have this gallery in a sidebar and full-width (no sidebar) layout.
Just updated to 1.1… at last! BRAVO !
This is simply AMAZING theme, and the support is one of the best on Envato: purchase with confidence!
Rated 5 stars! Cool..
P.S. This is how it looks like, on my website: Marco Famà photography
Thanks so much for your kind words – I’m happy to hear that you like the theme and that you are satisfied with the support provided
I know this question may be silly, but what image size (in pixels) would you recommend as a maximum size for full screen galleries?
Being that this is a responsive design please keep in mind image load times for mobile phones. Most of the clients that will see our page will view it on a mobile device on a 3g or 4g network. Thank you very much.
P.S. The images we use on the demo are around 1000px in size, so I can recommend this size.
Hi, well done, it’s amazing work.
Just a question, where i can edit the copyright on the footer? Thank you.
to post your support questions. Thanks!
P.S. You can change all the texts used in the theme within the “Translation” section of the options panel.
