I have already purchased the Expression theme and I just wanted to comment that it is an excellent WP theme. I would also say thank you to the support which was always very helpful and fast in response. Keep up the good work!

Hello,

We have purchased the theme and were wondering how do we take off the “expression” title and replace it with a name?

Hello,

I’m an interested buyer. I’m a project leader for a photography club in Sweden. We have 350 members and my irresponsibility is to review Wordpress themes for our membership.

does this support 3.5 version

thanks you

pexeto

Hi,

Yes, the theme supports WordPress 3.5 – even the last update of the theme includes some improvements to work with the new WordPress 3.5 Media Library functionality.

Pre-sale questions please: Can I upload my own fonts? Can I play music? What about individual music on each portfolio page? (I don’t want the same music to play on my baby section as my men’s section of photos). Can I change the colors/fonts/backgrounds in each section? Is there an easy photo sort and drag feature within the portfolios? Right click protect? Can I bulk/mass upload my images? Because the images open up full-screen, will they adapt to smaller devices or will the images be cropped? Thanks!

pexeto

Hi,

Here are my answers:

- The theme supports Google Fonts and Cufon Fonts – you can either use one from the Google fonts library or if you want to use a custom font, you can generate it in Cufon format on the Cufon site and upload it to the theme.
- There isn’t an option to play music, but you should be able to accomplish this with a plugin.
- By default there is an option to change the colors/fonts/backgrounds globally for the whole theme. For the different pages there is an option to set a different background image, but if you want to style the separate pages in different colors and fonts, you will have to do this with some additional CSS.
- There is a drag and drop sorting enabled within each of the portfolio items (for the images that are opened in a slider or lightbox).
- Yes, there is a right click disable option (you can see this on the demo as well).
- You can bulk upload the images within each portfolio item in the gallery.
- Yes, the images will adapt to smaller devices – depending on the type of slideshow they may get cropped from the sides to fit the screen of the device – you can test this yourself as well if you can.

Thanks for all of the info! I can tell a photographer helped you guys create this because there are so many features one needs (like bulk upload) and some of the other themes don’t have a full-size portfolio/gallery which is crazy! (why would you want your photos to look small?). But I need to make sure of one thing. If I click on a photo in the gallery, can this be linked to a full-height and full-width slideshow with slider (or with arrows?). And it will it do both at once? Some of the photos in my portfolio are portraits and others are landscapes, so I need it to automatically show both by default. Thanks!!! You have pretty much everything I need. I’m going to try to find someone to eliminate the top and bottom headers or at least make them transparent. Because they are there, the full-width photos look almost too panoramic. Thanks again!

pexeto

Hi,

I’m glad to hear that this theme provides the functionality you need :)

Yes, you can accomplish this – there is an option to set a custom link to the items in the gallery, so you can create a fullscreen slideshow page and make the item link to such kind of a page. Regarding the image orientation – you can use the full-height slideshow page when you have both portrait and landscape images – this slideshow is suitable for all types of image layouts.

Default-user

Is it really hard to create a white background for the gallery or portrait/vertical photos? (instead of the grey that shows now).

pexeto

It is easy to accomplish this – by default there is an option to change the background color globally for the whole theme, but if you want to change it for the slider only – this can be accomplished with one small CSS addition.

Default-user

Hi, other people love the transparent menu feature of Photolux as much as I do, I will hire someone to fix this, unless you have plans of adding this feature? Thanks!

pexeto

Hi,

At this there are no plans for adding such kind of option.

I wasn’t sure if your support pages were just for people who have purchased already….so I’m posting here since I haven’t bought yet. Before I purchase I have a few question.

I need a static page for that home page so that I can have text on the home page. Can I do that and still use the Standard Gallery or full height slideshow along with static text on a Page? Thanks! The theme looks GREAT!

pexeto

Hi,

Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme :)

As you can see on the demo, the fullscreen slideshow and the gallery are not in a standard page layout and by default they don’t support static text, however it is easy to add the page text in the gallery page above the thumbnails just with one line of code change. Alternatively, you can also use just a normal static page as a home page and have the gallery and slideshows on other pages, that can be accessed from the menu.

Default-user

Sounds perfect, last question, I promise! :) If I use a static page for the home page, and set up a full-screen background like here:

http://pexetothemes.com/demos/expression_wp/fullscreen-background/

Can you make that background a slideshow? Thanks so much for your time.

pexeto

Hi,

The fullscreen background image functionality supports one static image only, it doesn’t work as a slideshow. Just to let you know that the fullscreen slideshow page support descriptions for the images in overlay box, so if you want to show some text in a fullscreen slideshow page, you may consider using this page template with descriptions on the images.

Hi! Great theme. I’m looking forward to buy it and use it for my blog/photoblog/photographic-essays website. However, I have a doubt… Is it possible for visitors to add comments to the pictures or galleries? I haven’t seen anything like this in the demo (apart from the blog posts). On the other hand, I’d be uploading, regularly, individual pictures (instead small groups of 4-5 images)... Is there a way to add EXIF information automatically to those pictures?

Thanks.

pexeto

Hi,

I’m glad you like the theme :)

Within the gallery, you can enable comments within the single portfolio item page – you can see an example here – this is a single portfolio item page, you can link the gallery item to this page where you can enable comments (there is an option included to enable comments on these pages). Regarding EXIF data – by default there isn’t such kind of option included, but you can use a plugin for this and embed the image with the plugin directly into the content of the item on that page.

Last question, sorry! I almost bought a theme only to discover the gallery photos didn’t link to full-screen photos which would have been a disaster! I looked at some of the example websites by “real” customers and they looked great!!! (this is not always the case with other themes). But they all had a gallery as the home page, can I have the full-width slideshow (hopefully with no slider) as the home opening page? Also, Is it really hard to create a white background for the gallery or portrait/vertical photos? (instead of the grey that shows now). Thanks so much and good work!!!!

pexeto

Hi,

I’m not really sure if I understand what you mean by saying that the gallery photos don’t link to fullscreen photos – when you open the gallery and click on an item, you can get a fullscreen slideshow (either full-width or full-height) which displays the images in fullscreen.
Regarding the opening page – if you are referring to a page like this one – yes, you can make this page to be your site front page.
Regarding the background color – I just posted a reply to the same question you have posted in your comment above – you can check my reply in there.

Default-user

No, I meant the theme I ALMOST bought didn’t open up full-screen, yours does!!! But this is why I’m being so thorough before buying a theme and uploading 500 photos which takes tons of time. Cool! I love your theme and it is SO complete. Awesome!!!!

Hi there,

I’m looking for a new theme to better represent my photography work and I think I found it. :-)

I do have a few pre-sale questions though:

1) When you open the demo theme with the lightbox gallery you see the image tiles. I assume the thumbnail size can be adjusted and the threshold for the “load more” button too (or be removed)?

2) Still on the lightbox gallery: When you click on an image it opens up but there’s a gallery behind it showing 3 or 4 images. My idea is to have all my photos of a specific genre shown as thumbnails and being able to open them individually. The filter would then be used to switch between genres (fashion, beauty, etc). But does this mean that I’d have to create a gallery for each individual image. Or am I missing something? To clarify what I want to do, take a look at this example: http://www.zebdaemen.com/#/portfolio/fashion-women

3) When you hover the mouse over an image, it turns gray and show title, number of images (which in my case would always be 1) and “view gallery”. Can this be turned off? Or inversed like in the black & white gallery on your Photolux Theme?

4) Finally: is there a way to differentiate between a home page (showing my latest work in full page size) and the other (lightbox) galleries? Sort of what I’m doing on my current website (http://cr-photography.be/). :-)

Sorry about all the questions… I’m really interested. :-)

pexeto

Hi,

Thank you for the interest :) Here are my answers:

1. If you are referring to the main thumbnail size of the gallery items – yes, it can be changed. And yes – you can specify how many items to load before the load more button or remove the button.

2. By default it is designed to display a gallery of images attached to a single item – each thumbnail in the gallery represents a separate portfolio item and the images you add to it are displayed in a lightbox. If you want you can take a look at the video about creating a gallery with the theme here to understand how it is organised.

3. It can be hidden with a few CSS changes

4. If you are asking whether you can have a fullscreen slideshow page on your front page and a lightbox gallery in another page – yes, you can do this.

Hi,

It is a nice theme, do u think does it work with this multilanguage plug-in? http://wpml.org/ If it is ok, i want to buy this theme.

Thank u…

pexeto

Hi,

I’m glad you like the theme :)

I have done some tests with the WPML plugin of all the main functionality of the theme and everything was working well with it. Only for the gallery it requires a specific category organisation, but this is very easy to set – we can provide the instructions on our support site.

Hi, looking to purchase but I’m just wondering if it is possible to change the link of a photo from the gallery to link to a new page instead of an image. I’d like to use an image in the gallery as a separate link to different pages on the site. Thanks!

Kind of like this: http://www.intelligentsiacoffee.com/

pexeto

Hi,

Yes, you can do this with the gallery – there is an option to set a custom link to each item (thumbnail image) in the gallery.

Default-user

Great thanks! Is it possible to put a slider above a gallery? Kinda like this: http://stumptowncoffee.com/

Default-user

Also if I set a custom link as you mentioned am I able to change the “View Gallery” wording that shows up, remove the number badge and photo icon when hovering?

pexeto

Hi,

The gallery layout doesn’t support a slider by default, but you can accomplish a similar layout if you use the Quick Gallery in a standard page template with a Nivo slider on top.

Regarding the thumbnail preview – yes, you can change the View Gallery text and also on custom links by default there won’t be a number badge. Only the icon (which will be a link icon, not a photo icon) will be displayed, but it can be hidden with one CSS line.

Hi Pexeto,

Great design for Expressions. Just one question, could you please tell me, regarding the photographs I upload onto this theme; once live on WordPress, will the photographs be disabled to downloads online like they are in the demo (i.e right click ->save as)? Or is that just a special feature on the demo?

Thanks, Najma Najma

Hi,

Thanks, I’m glad you like the theme :)

The right click disable functionality is part of the theme and it can be enabled/disabled with an option in the options panel.

That is so awsome. Thanks so much. I’m even more delighted I purchased now :D

Hello Pexeto, First, Amazing Design. I am very glad with this purchase.

I have a doubt:

How I can change the “portgolio” to something else like “model” in the url: http://limamountain.com/portfolio/lesli/

In order to have a new url to my models like: http://limamountain.com/model/lesli/

Hei! This theme looks awesome! Is there a chance to feed the galleries automatically via Flickr? I’m currently using Awesome Flickr Gallery, which is quite nice, but a bit boring. For me it would be perfect if this would work.

Thanks

pexeto

Hi,

Thanks, I’m glad you like it :)

By default the gallery doesn’t support such kind of option, so implementing this will require some additional coding.

Default-user

That would mean additional costs I guess?

pexeto

If you need such kind of customisation, you can apply it by yourself if you have some coding knowledge or otherwise you may consider hiring a freelancer to customise the gallery in the way you like.

Hello, I purchased theme and I have a question. For the grid layout all the pictures are pushed to the left. Is there a way to center the galleries? It just looks odd when all the galleries are to the left and there is quite a bit of negative space to the right of everything.

How might I center the galleries in the grid layout rather then have them all pushed to the left?

Hello,

The theme is amazing & easy to customize. Please check on http://saroshkazi.com/

The only issue I am facing is the gallery loads extremely slow . It’s a photograher’s site & hence pictures needs a quality too. Please help how I can resolve this issue of slow loading.
