Hey 2winFactor, lovely looking site, some great touches.
There are some odd graphical things going on in Safari 5.1.7 when you roll over the navigation, the nav repeats in the header in a weird way above where the nav should be…
Looks fine in Chrome and Firefox…buzz me if you want a screengrab.
Are the blog posts secure from hacking attacks, a friend had a different Real Estate WordPress site hacked 3 times from open contact forms…just curious to know from a dev point of view.
Thankyou sir.
Hi Gstar,
That’s very strange, it seems to test well in Safari on my end on both Mac and PC. Are you on PC or Mac? I’d love to see a screengrab if you want to send one over.
It’s as secure as it can be from a theme prospective, however, hacks are usually a result of not securing your wordpress install. It’s always best practice to follow the steps that wordpress suggests here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Hardening_WordPressThanks! Andre
Hi Andre
I have a Mac, checked the theme today, it looks fine, no, make that fantastic!; I swear I wasn’t drinking last night, don’t I feel stupid, bloomin computers!.
Thanks for the security link, will take a look.
Have a great weekend
Gary
Excellent! Good news! I’ve been going nuts re-testing over here.
Have a good weekend, Gary,
Andre
Truly amazing!
There are some blank boxes on the home page grid for me in FireFox 15
Hi CrucialCounty,
Hmm… that’s strange, do you have adblock enabled by chance? It could be blocking specific image sizes that are coincidentally the same size as ads.
Thanks for letting me know,
Andre
Great work. Good luck with the sales.
Thanks Joefrey!
Andre
Awesome work mate. Love it and quite interested in it.
Was wondering if its possible to change the dimensions of the image header (grid thing) ?
Cause currently its approximately 500px height wise.
Thanks
Hi sebech,
Yep, you can change that size if you like. The easiest thing to do is just to select fewer featured posts on the homepage (check out those layouts in the demo). Additionally, you can just adjust the height with some custom CSS as well, just being sure to leave enough room for the titles.
Let me know if you have any other questions or need further clarification,
Andre
Inspired by The Verge? I love it!
Thanks Eminemdrdre! Yep! A lot in inspirations from The Verge, Flipboard, Pinterest and a little bit of Windows Phone as well.
Andre
Awesome theme! Do you think you’ll be adding a gallery/ portfolio page option in the future? Looking for a theme similar to this for a new blog/ studio website.
Good luck with sale!
Hi Pauly,
What sort of portfolio are you looking for? You CAN create a portfolio page if you want. Just create posts with that category, and add that category to the menu. Or were you looking for some other type of functinality? I’m interested in hearing more!
Andre
Sorry for the poor description. More of a page where I can show who the writers/ designers are for my blog, and from their linking to a page where I can show off some of that individual writers/ designers portfolio of work in an image gallery.
In simple, just looking for a image gallery page. Just an idea that may interest future development
Thanks!
Hi Paulyb,
It’s not demoed, but you can add a gallery to any page/post you want. Here’s an example on the theme:
http://bit.ly/SUqqMCThis just uses wordpress’ built-in gallery functionality, integrated with a lighbox. You can add this on a full-width page, too.
Andre
Neat , wonderful touches ; congrats for such a great work !
Thanks Bedros!
Why is it when i’m halfway through building a new news site, you go and bring this out, darnnnn it, now im gonna have to re-think…
Great work bud, love you sites they are amazing
Thanks Rich! I appreciate it man!
Andre
Going to look atit in detail in a mo, but initially can you change the colour scheme of the site bud? and can it have a background image?
Rich
Yep, it can have a background image. Check out the different options for the theme here:
http://themeforest.net/theme_previews/3102218-extranews-responsive-news-and-magazine-themeFor the color scheme, you can choose your own colors for the “highlight color”, buttons, links, hovers etc. so you can match it to your brand. However, there’s no dark skin at the moment. That may be coming in a future update.
Andre
It’s so good im depressed
love the interactivity on the homepage (standard) and it’s all the little subtle little things that have been tweaked to perfection, the more you look the more you see.
Gotta say this is how a news site should be, the responsive part is fabulous as well.
Nice! I’m so glad you like it. Thanks again Rich,
Andre
What are you using for your responsive advert areas? And how are they managed? I heard that AdPress was one of the best, or have you simply allowed for adds out of the box?
Wow so many questions I had better stop before you get fed up of me…
The theme has a couple built-in simple ad widgets that have some basic functionality. However if you’re looking for more of a full-fledged solution I would definitely use something like AdPress.
Let me know if you have any more questions, I’d be glad to help!
Andre
Hi, I love the theme so far. Great job!
Wanted to know if the review page could show related posts?
Thanks!
Hi Monbran,
Thanks! I’m glad you like it!
The post pages just show the previous and next posts at the moment. No related posts, although there are many plugins that you could use for this type of functionality. I may include something like that in the next update, depending on demand.
Thanks!
Andre
Great theme! Is it possible to change the background color of the site leaving text area background white? maybe even add changing image backgrounds?
Hi Kulkark,
You mean like a “boxed” layout? Yep, you can do that easily with some custom css, and I’d be glad to help you through. However, I’m planning on adding that option in the next update too.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Andre
awesome work! Good luck with sales
Thanks Louie!
Andre
I absolutely love this theme. I just have three questions: 1) In the grid on the homepage, can you pick which posts show up bigger than the others? 2) Can you put Google Adsense in the ad-spot… and have it be responsive between different screen sizes? 3) Can we make individual posts (preferably reviews) full-width? An example is: http://www.theverge.com/2012/9/21/3363238/iphone-5-review
Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks a ton.
Hi Tenncastic,
Thanks so much for your interest! I’d be glad to answer any questions you may have.
1) You can’t “pick” individual sizes or you’d need to do a lot of math and the wrong combination of sizes will jumble up the bottom. However, you can choose the number of featured homepage posts, and you’ll always know which ones are the larger size (for instance, the first featured post is always a large one).
2) The ad widget that comes with the theme is for self-publishing ads – external services like adsense an ad widget is not necessary. I’ve put google adsense on a few sites and the easiest thing to do is insert a text widget where you want the ad, and then paste your adsense code in there, lickety split.
3)There isn’t a full-width view at the moment. I may include that in the next update though, depending on demand.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Andre
Have you planned Buddypress and/or BBPress addon in the future?
Regards
Nothing planned yet, but I always take feature requests. That may come in the future, depending on demand.
Thanks Vellatechie,
Andre
Hi, Great theme. Colors don’t change in Theme Options->Links&HightLights. i Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks.
Hi Tunel,
Thanks for purchasing my theme! I really appreciate it!
It sounds like your custom.css file doesn’t have writable permissions by the theme (to make the change to the file). Double check to make sure that it has those permissions.
Additionally, to provide you with more efficient, searchable support topics, I ask that all questions be asked on the Support Forum. Feel free to start a new thread over there and I’d be happy to help! Thanks!

Awesome theme! Is it possible to put a 728×90 ad in the header instead of the 480×80?
Hi Nuno,
Yep! It’s possible, but 480×60 is what I set it up fro by default in case you have a longer logo. You’d just need to add that ad to the top widget area and make sure your logo doesn’t overlap. Otherwise you can also easily add it above or below the logo too.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Andre
Hi There,
I like this theme so much! But when I take a look into the source code, I DON ’T see a well coded site. The H1 is missing on front page, post page and also on single page. They are all H2. Also there are a lot of Java and Jquare Scripts in the head, which some of them could be hidden to make the site running faster and it will be better for Google.
Could you make the site a bit more SEO Friendly and you will have more buyers, including me.
Cheers and Good Luck!
Hi David,
Thanks! I’m glad you like it!
On the SEO side, I have to disagree. This site was coded with SEO and best heading practices were followed. There IS an h1 on the front page (and every page) – the site name, the most important piece on the page. Remaining posts on the page are h2, sidebar/unrelated h3-h4 to set up a clear hierarchy. I will be further optimizing these as SEO standards change as well.
Some of the javascripts could be removed, depending on your needs. The idea is to make it flexible enough to remove specific ones. Even with the scripts, it still scored a 92/100 on the pingdom tools test – which a simple caching plugin would easily solve.
Let me know if you have any other suggestions or questions. Thanks David!
Andre
Regarding the SEO ;
On the front page you can use the name of the site as H1 but on all other pages and post pages you can better use the name of the page/post as H1.. Google doesn’t like it when all pages and all post have the same H1 like a title tag. This is the most common fault ppl make when programming a WP theme. Every single page or post should have his own H1 and only the front page can use the title as H1.
Regarding the source-code as general:
We have 5 programmers in our office and we all have taken a look into the code and we still believe that there is to much unnecessary coding/scripts.
Restructure the theme a bit better also with the H1 and we will buy as well
Ah, I see what you mean. Got it. I’ll see what I can do about optimizing the headers this in the next update, as well as combining some scripts. Thanks so much for the suggestion,
Andre
can I add different content boxes where the latest posts columns is on the front page?
i mean i could have lets say 6 latest posts, followed by a static content box, then latest posts from a specific category etc?
Hi Kuldark,
No without some modification to the theme. You can’t place content boxes where the “latest posts” area is, however, you can place widgets and content in the widget area to the right. Additionally, you can set the “latest posts” to a category of your choice (and with the dropdown menu, the user can dynamically load the latest headlines).
Let me know if you have any other questions!
