Hi, I’m interested in purchasing your theme. However, I’d like to confirm something before I purchase: Are the galleries(full-screen slideshows, grid thumbnails, etc) managed by WordPress’ built in media library? Or is it managed by your media management system? I’d like to be able to add,delete and modify images within Wordpress’ built in media library and have the slideshows update automatically.

All images are managed by WordPress standard in-built media uploader. The portfolio is a custom post type, so not a “standard gallery”, but each item is more treated as a post in admin panel (to which you upload the images you want to show).
Still: all images uses the media uploader via attachments to each specific page.

Hi! There is no in-built twitter widget. However, if you get the official widget here: https://twitter.com/settings/widgets and then just copy the code into this enhanced text widget: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/enhanced-text-widget/ it should work right away and be responsive.
I bought this theme but i’m COULD NOT set up it yet. It’s complicated. From now i can’t see the BLOG page. I have several posts in my wordpress, but when I click over “Blog” button at the top it goes to a blank page: nothing happens. I already set up WordPress to show “home” page as frontpage and “blog” as posts… Please, i need someone to help me. How do I set up my Blog page.
Make sure that the default page template is used for the blog page, and not for example “sidebar right”.

I discovered the problem: It was settings in Blog Theme Options in Post Content where it was selected exerpt, not full posts.
Other thing, This theme does not translate to Portuguese. I already wrote the portuguese entries in feather.pot which has been generated the file feather.mo inside languages folder. My WordPrss is in PT_BR, but it still showing terms in english for this theme. If i change the theme, everything becomes portuguese. What’s wrong?
Nice that you found the issue. Check out this guide how to translate. We’ve not had any others reporting issues, so it should work.
Also, try lowercase on pt. pt_BR
I did everything as this article. I already wrote the portuguese terms, generated the .mo file, etc. Take a look:

I discovered the problem. You guys developed this theme using static term, not dinamic term (CONSTANT) for textdomainin wordpress. Example:
_e(‘Categories’,’feather’)
It should be like that: _e(‘Categories’, CONSTANT)
So in the functions.php i’d be:
define(“THEMNAME”, “whatever”);
And… It’d result:
_e(‘Categories’, THEMNAME)
So that I may change the name of the theme and it will work normaly.
Ah, glad you found the issue. Correct, we specify the theme name in language strings, similar to TwentyTwelve.

I have one short question: The name of the TAB in the browser of my page is “Mein Blog” (German for My blog). I want something else there. But I cant find anything at all in the backend. Where is it hidden? Or do I hve to change it in a document. Not the headline of the pages or so, I really mean the name of the tab.

Hello, I was just about to purchase the theme, but I looked at it on my iPhone and noticed that it is not retina ready. Are you planning an update any time soon to change this? Or is this something that is not too hard for me to add in (I have pretty decent understanding of css, but have just never built anything for a retina screen before)?

Hi James. Feather is currently not Retina-ready, and whether it will be updated or not to that is hard to say. It is possible that we make it retina-ready in the next big framework update, but can’t make any promises.

When you click “beställ mat online” and see the form there, it does work in every browsers but not in explorer.
We tried it in another theme, and then it worked, so its something with the theme.
Have you hade any other wrongs with contact forms in feather theme?
Please answer me back as soon as possible.

Is this issue in IE8? If you want to get rid of the in-built form styling, check style.css on line 84 to 120. That’s where all the form related css is placed. If you are using a plugin and the form styling is supplied there, try just removing the form css that comes with the theme. (Line 84-120)

Make sure that you read the documentation regarding allowed signs. Refer to Documentation > Frontpage section. You can not use ‘-signs in the caption text or linebreaks, but it can still be used with another method explained there. (Certain limitations of the Supersized script)

With some CSS-specifying you could hide those elements pretty easily for the quote format post. But there is no in-built option for it.

I am delighted with the theme, but I have a small problem:
I’m using qtranslate to translate the page. Everything works perfectly, except for the portfolio section.
Qtranslate adds a prefix to the URL (www.yourdomain.com/en/ ...). The main language of the site is Spanish, but when I change to English and try to enter to see an item in the portfolio, I get in Spanish. It doesn’t maintain the prefix /en/.
The same happens when you are in a portfolio individual item and try to move to the next or previous project with the buttons above right.
You know why that might be? All site works perfect but there.
It could be for the custom URL field?

Hi, first of all compliments for your theme.
I wish to buy it, but there’s one important ( for me ) question to do it before purchase it.
On my wordpress site, I have differents categories. I wish to know if in your portfolio I can display my categories or do a new custom post type to be displayed on the portfolio.
The main problem is that I can’t loose actually permailinks for all posts on my blog.
It is possible to migrate to your theme without loose my actually permalinks for each posts ?

The blog and portfolio are separate post types. The portfolio supports categories – but the post type is separate from blog, although it works the same way.
If you switch to this theme, your old items will appear in the blog – permalinks will work, but it will be in the blog format.

How hard can it be to add a slider to this thing… I’ve been trying for three hours to add a Front Page Wide template with 2 or 3 photos. The documentation is WEAK, makes no sense (by clicking Upload/Insert on the page). Nothing I’ve tried to “Add Media” to this template has worked.
Have you enabled the slider on the page itself? It’s a checkbox below the text field when you edit the page.
As for not understanding how the images works, check the “Managing Images” section of the docs and it may give you a better idea. It works via attachments to pages. The key being to select “Uploaded to this page” option from the media-popup dropdown.

There is no option to make the filter sticky by default. It would need customization, same for masonry – however isotope is used, which should support more masonry-type options as well. But, again, needs customization.

Having a little bit of a dilemma with the portfolio. i have built a child theme as an extension of this great theme however whenever i click into on a portfolio item the post does not display and i get the following error message “ERROR 404. OOPS! Something went wrong. “

My guess would be that it’s a portfolio taxonomy issue, what happens if you refresh the settings in Theme Modules > Portfolio?

hi, it has to do with the permalinks, it works when it is default however it doesn’t when i use the post name. can this be rectified?
