Hi Jonathan,

I am considering this theme for an artist who makes high and narrow statues and have a pre-purchase question:

In your demo the portfolio (Unique Galleries) overview has square size images. Can the images in the portfolio of this theme also be set to a different (portrait) size/ratio? Ot does the size/ratio of the image depend on the image you load?

Thanks for your advise!

Hi – yes the actual image shown is square (cropped and scaled) however on the detail page (an actual gallery) then it uses WP thumbs for the thumbs and once clicked it would be full size, same with inline content on those pages they would be any shape / size. You can see by looking at the snowboard image that it’s a thumb on the index page but it’s portrait when you click through, the other galleries show the standard WordPress gallery on the content that once clicked is any size also.

So to answer your question, it’s a little bit of everything :)

Thanks Jonathan.

I understand the single post pages. On the index page: can the size of the image easily be change to for example ratio 2:1 (height:width)? Or has that to be done by changing the code in the theme files?

Greetings,

It uses the thumb created by WordPress, therefore if you set WP thumbs size to not be a square but a rectangle then it would use that – basically we set a width for the column but not for height.

Hi Jonathan,

I have received an e-mail from ThemeForest says that an update available for ‘Featherlite Premium WordPress Theme’. So I downloaded the new version of theme. What way do I need use to update whole theme files?

Thx.

Hi – you can just replace the files mentioned in the update on the item preview page:

03/06/14 – Updated search.php and searchform.php to return the search query to make the search more secure

Simply FTP and replace those 2 files.

Love the theme design!

Quick question: Are the nav bar for pages or categories ? Or both ?

jonathan01

Hi – all pages / posts etc have the navbar yes. As it’s WP menus it can contain (and be structured) with however you wish just drag your pages over to the menu and organize and index to however you wish. Hope that answers your question correctly.
