ok i think i fixed it all so far…
Sorry if it seemed like i was yelling. It was frustration- also the fact that I felt a little decieved—this theme costs $13 but I have to buy a minimum of $20 before using it. Bit sneaky…
Anyway, here’s my problems very clearly. I have set up most everything correct after spending about 6 hours with it.
1) Two times the static pages on the upper right hand corner have disappeared. This was frustrating, I don’t know why. I had to reinstall the .xml file to get them back, but don’t know why it does this. Also, when you hover over, it doesnt have the black bar like the original demo.
2) The main image doesnt show on IE. I don’t understand the previous comment about [ie-image] or whatever. Tekkie language, can you please break down? The other ie.css file is properly installed, since the other slider image does work.
3) How do you shrink the fonts size? It’s a bit huge (I use this on an imac, so it’s fine—but the majority of my customer base uses the worst computers possible, ugly PC’s with IE:( )))). Do I had to edit the stylesheet somehow, and if so, which thing do I edit?
4) How do you make posts show up on the calendar? Or are the calendar only for “events” posts?
5) Where exactly do you put in the description for SEO and whatnot? I’m a bit confused on this, is it in the top of the .xml file?
Hello, answering your questions:
1) Two times the static pages on the upper right hand corner have disappeared. This was frustrating, I don’t know why. I had to reinstall the .xml file to get them back, but don’t know why it does this.
===It has become happening right after Blogger had switched finally to their new interface. I think it is a temporary problem which will be fixed by Blogger, anyway, in the meantime click wrench icon near the menu and see whether all pages are in there. If yes but unchecked, simply tick those pages you want be visible in your menu.
Also, when you hover over, it doesnt have the black bar like the original demo. ===This sentence I do not understand, which black bar please?
2) The main image doesnt show on IE. I don’t understand the previous comment about [ie-image] or whatever. Tekkie language, can you please break down? The other ie.css file is properly installed, since the other slider image does work.
===Template was tested and restested in IE8 and IE9 . Compare demo and your site, if you see same problem with my demo, please report me.
===stylesheet.css
4) How do you make posts show up on the calendar? Or are the calendar only for “events” posts?
===It is standalone js empowered script and has no any attitude to posts.
5) Where exactly do you put in the description for SEO and whatnot? I’m a bit confused on this, is it in the top of the .xml file?
===Either in meta (head) or in Blogger setting. Better-in both. It was mentioned in Help file as well.
Best wishes, Tanya
Ok, some things here that your answers did not answer.
1) IE – still doesnt work (top image) This is the exact code I have:
<!—[if lt IE 9 ]> <script src=”http://html5shiv.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js”></script> <script src=”http://css3-mediaqueries-js.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/css3-mediaqueries.js”></script> <![endif]—> <!
-[if lt IE 9 ]><link href=’http://(mydomain)...css/ie.css' rel=’stylesheet’/><![endif]->which works fine with my domain linking the stylesheet – i know bc the slider image works, but NOT the top image. can you please explain about one person’s earlier post of how to amend this?
2) I also noticed in the original the letters look smooth and sharp, whereas in my page, the heading and the description under the main image looks very pixelated. why?
3) by black bar over the letters: when you scroll over the menu static pages you will see a black bar rolls over. That is what I do not see in my version.
Thank you!
OK- MORE problems today… now, when I click on a specific blog, and see the full blog, the entire right side bar is gone. everything. why is that?... sorry, but i’ve been trying to customize this theme for days now and getting super frustrated…. also, is there no way to get out of editing a blog in html? i have to manually paste in line breaks it seems each time….
Try next method: open Template–Edit HTML –cmd a–hit delete–upload template xml file once again. Start editing accurately and carefully, comparing each step of your editing with my live demo. If you see that something goes wrong fix the problem at this step, then continue. Follow attentively Help file, I also provided a link to my blog with various helping articles concerning Blogger environment (find the link in pdf file).
We use your theme for our guild here http://phoenixmodernquiltguild.com but, today I added a new page to the site and now our navigation list items disappeared.
Hello,
try to do next: click wrench icon under/near menu (when you are in live blog), if you see that there is no tick sign near page titles you want them to be shown in navigation, tick them. If you see that page titles ticked but nav links are still unavailable, let me know, I shall think further what may cause the problem.
The nav should be under the huge logo, before the slideshow.
Hello, I cannot see the icon since I am not logged into your blog. But if you are logged in and are in your live blog you should see the icon under/near menu, like on the screenshot below.
You can click the screnshot for larger view.
Once you click the icon, a window pops up and you should see a tick icon near all page titles which you want be displayed in navigation. If you see them unticked, simply tick and see what is going on. Best regards, Tanya
Ya, the wrench is not there. The first wrench to show up is under the huge welcome paragraph we have.
So, probably you removed something when were you moving navigation under the big image. Open xml (template, edit html, proceed) and check whether you see this line of code:
You can use ctrl+f and type “nav”, it will help you to find a code faster.
Took me forever to get around to this, but yes that code is still in the template file.
Try to: Expand Widget Template, find appropriate piece of code and recopy full code of PageList from my xml into yours one.
Hello!
I purchased this template for a client – it’s lovely and seems to be working fine. My client is concerned her readers are getting confused because there are no “social” or “comment” links at the bottom of each post.
Here is a link to her site: http://www.chronicfatiguechronichope.blogspot.com/
Here’s a blog that has an example of what she is looking for. http://www.thesartorialist.com/facebook/twitter/email share links & the comments link after each post.
I noticed that all these elements are turned on under the blog widget settings on her site – is there anyway to get these things to show up when the posts are listed one after the other?
Thank you!
Cheers, -Megan contact@customcg.comHello, first, thank you for purchasing!
Second, sorry, could not reply earlier.
Third, yes, of course, it is possible, why not? I preferred to hide them from front page but that was my personal choice for this very template. Naturally you can reveal these features for the front page and show them both under each post like on example you showed me. It requires some work (in xmll file) but the work is not big and not hard. Thank you! Tanya.
Hello Tanya!
This template looks great and a good example of a professionally designed blogger template and very reasonably priced. Am confused with one of reader’s comment:
Why?! Is the reader referring to buying of domain & hoisting space for hoisting external files prior to go live with this template? I assume external files can be hoisted on free file hoisting sites like Dropbox. Please do clarify -as that comment sounded as the template carries other dependencies (monetarily).
Thanks & Regards
Hello, thank you for your interest! Interesting, where this comment is? Did I miss something in TF comment box, I do not see it…?
But well, to the matter: template costs $13 per one domain–this is your expense. Hosting, domain, file storage–they are additional things that you may either buy or use the free ones.
Yes, I have heard about Dropbox, as far as I understand is serves well for file storage purposes and does not cost money. So, if you choose free hosting, your expense is $13 only (template itself).
Wish you the best, Tanya
Thanks Tanya for the clarification regarding price. So, strictly speaking there’s no additional costs if one goes with free-hoisting services like Dropbox (Google Drive could be another option I assume..).
And as far as the concerned COMMENT could be seen here:http://themeforest.net/item/festzeitresponsive-html5-template-blogevents-/discussion/2528178

And yes, your blogger templates really looks great. I’m just not able to decide which one could be close to my requirement. Does there’s more blogger templates which are in your pipeline? Would be great if you do so..
Regards
Thank you so much! Ok, yes, right, you can store your files anywhere where css/js/jpg/png are allowed. If Drive allows–fine. Moreover, you can redistribute your files: if for example Drive does not allow js but css only while Dropbox allows js you can pit one file type in Drive, other file type in Dropbox–I say it just as example, me personally have paid hosting therefore I am not aware well which file storages allow what, but you can check naturally, beforehand.
In fact, you can place all css/js right into the head of your main xml file but me is against this method. It creates too long file and some js conflicts are possible.
As for your last question–yes, in spite of the fact that Blogger is catastrophically unpopular I shall keep making good templates for Blogger. I see a lot of potential in it.
I have a couple more templates here which are not exposed on TF, if you wish you can take a look, maybe some of them will suit your needs. Thanks again!
