Hi. I have purchased and installed Fiction and I then created a child theme which is working correctly except that the primary color in the theme options screen is not taking effect. In other words I have changed the default orange to red but the site does not change. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In order for these changes to take effect the styling modules have to be included in your child theme. Please create a support ticket so I can have development look into this for you.

Hi, I’m trying to install Fiction but it’s not uploading!

I looks like it loads to 100%, but then I get a message asking whether I’m sure I want to upload it, and when I click “yes” it has removed the file and I need to upload it again.

Help!

You will need to upload the file into ‘wp-content/themes’ via FTP instead.

Your theme is supposed to work with Contact Form 7, but the captcha doesn’t work. I am using the Really Simple Catpcha which is the captcha designed to work with CF 7.

I really need the captcha to work as I need to insure my client gets as little spam as possible, preferably none.

Again, this is an issue with Visual Composer.

Hi Squidix, I do have sympathy for you issue regarding the visual composer, but you do realize that the way your theme is set up, it relies to the visual composer to access the shortcodes. I can’t access the shortcodes if I am working in classic view.

Therefore as long as the visual composer isn’t working, then your theme isn’t working because in essence we have a theme that is broken, not through your fault, but as you say, through the issues with the visual composer.

Should you not then be issuing a fix or update which allows for the bypassing of the visual composer and allows for pages to be built with shortcodes in classic view?

It seems if you don’t do this, then you are acknowledging that your theme is broken and you can’t fix it because your theme depends on visual composer to work and that is as you have said beyond your control.

I now have to tell my client that your theme currently doesn’t work due to issues out of your control and as such we have no idea when your theme will work.

I assume that if my client requires it, you will authorize a refund for the theme so we can purchase one that does work.

Squidix, I am not angry with you, but i am getting pressure from my client and if you are telling me these various problems are unsolvable until visual composer gets around to it, my client won’t accept that. He has a deadline to launch his website that I must meet.

I completely understand. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to control refunds, Envato does that.

I understand your pain, and the theme does work, there are just minor glitches (such as having to go back into the system) when Visual Composer messes up.

Hello, I have a problem with “Future Page” template:

if I create a new page and I select as template “Feature Page”, I don’t see my new page in the left area “menu” (where there are “5 Star Support”, “900+ Icons”, “Advanced Options”, etc, pages)

I tried also to create a new template, similar to “Future Page”, but the left area remains empty

I can edit existing pages (for example I can edit “5 Star Support”, “900+ Icons”, etc), but I have deleted some of them and now (or in the next months) if I want to add other pages, I don’t see these pages in the left area menu

another question: why the quality of the images with this theme is not high? Hi, in the portfolio is possible set columns, but is it possible settings also how many pictures display for each page? Or if I uplodad 100 pictures, portfolio display all picture in a single page?? Thanks

This is going to depend on the query you have set up. If you have nopaging=true in your query, it will be shown on one page. Otherwise you can specify posts per page in the query.

Where can i alter the width space for the logo? It doesn’t autmatically resize, so in need to make the space smaller.

The width of the logo is determined on the height, and is automatically resized. You can’t change this manually.

A while ago we bought this theme, but unfortunately we run into some problems. So unfortunately the logo carousel does not work and the styling of the footer disappeared.

I also think that this theme works very slowly. Any tips for that?

I read that an update is coming. Do you already know when?

I could successfully install the latest version of the template in question (1.0.6), even so the launch project buttons and back-and-forth navigators still apears in the template (http://www.pvcsantamarta.cl/portfolio-item/rotores-2/), as you can see in the link. so I keep my question, how can i get it out.

How to create a category page ? I find a solution.

1. Create a new blank page

2. Use Classic Editor paste this code : [vc_row][vc_column width="1/1"][query query="post_type=post&category_name=your-slug-category&posts_per_page=5"][blog1][/query][/vc_column][/vc_row] (your-slug-category is slug of category)

3. Save page & update your menu 4. Enjoy !!!

P/S : If your new page have “[/vc_column_text]...”, go to edit page, dell all & update page. Paste this code using Classic Editor : [query query="post_type=post&category_name=your-slug-category&posts_per_page=5"][blog1][/query] After, switch to Visual Composer, click convert to new vesion. Update this page again. Done !!!

I have a problem with Visual Composer. When I try to make “Callout” or “Text” blocks I can not insert a text in text field: textarea is not responding http://c2n.me/5YSsX7.png . When I add some text in the Classic Editor” mode http://c2n.me/5YSuOD.png the text do not display in block textarea while in “Visual Composer” mode.

This is a bug with Visual Composer. You should clear your cache and try again, or refresh a few times.

By the way, I think this is some bug in Styler script on the http://demo.squidix.com/wordpress/fiction/ Styler is not closing, dropdowns in menu are not opening. Please fix it.
