Great looking theme! Very unique with the slider on the top – I like it very much!
One question before buying – when viewing portfolio item on a lightbox can you close it with Escape key? Right now it doesn’t seem to work although it’s quite usual practice.
It would actually be great if Escape key worked for closing the top slider as well.
Thanks for help.
glad you find the theme great looking! Thank for taking an interest in it.
Regarding your question, the keyboard shortcuts are not implemented, and I would not worry about that because they are not so commonly found on the web, so one would imagine that the majority users wouldn’t expect to have them available, once they visit a certain website. Having said that, if you would still like to have this, some development work would be required of you, but I’m sure it shouldn’t be a tough task at all for a developer.
Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
Thanks. I though it was a common practice to close lightbox either by clicking outside of it (which works in your theme) or by pressing Escape. But it’s ok, i think I might be able to find how to code it.
Got one more question though – what about fonts? Is there any selection or Google font possibility?
OK, found the answer regarding Google fonts.
Anyway – is there a way to make two or three portfolio pages? One for design let’s say, and the other for photography? This is make or break for me as I’ve got loads of photos to show but don’t wanna mix it with other items on one page which does not have pagination.
I guess there is no choice to open menu links on separate pages but only in the top slider, right?
you are very much welcome.
When it comes to having multiple portfolios, that feature is possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, which is most definitely a task for a skillful developer. The same goes for opening menu links on separate pages, although that would take much less work to complete.
I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do!
If I set up two home pages – which is basically a portfolio page – name one of them Photography and the other one Design I could then have two portfolio pages, right? Is it gonna work this way?
I am afraid it’s not going to work that way, unless you set up two different WordPress installations. In other words, it’s not possible without some further modification of the theme’s code, unfortunately.
The text in ‘our services’ page is still hyphenating/ breaking as seen in the ‘about us’ page in your ‘live preview’ site. I removed the line of code from the normalize file as you said and cleared the cache but it did not correct the problem. I sent you this message 2 weeks ago in the dedicated support forum and did not hear back from you. A simple response indicating if you can help resolve this problem would be appreciated! I think that by default, the text should not hyphenate the way it does now; it should break by word, not by letter.
please accept my honest apologies, but you checked the “private response” option for some reason, when providing a reply to my comment, and I ended up not receiving a notification for your response. Must have been a glitch within the ticketing system because there is no way I would ever miss a single ticket in my forum. Having said all that, I managed to locate your ticket now, and provide you with the solution to your issue.
Once again, thank you for your patience, and for purchasing the Firefly theme! Good luck with your site!
I really like your theme, however before I purchase it I would like to ask if the “lightbox” can be adjusted to be larger than 600px wide? Would this option be in the theme options or would I have to adjust via css? thanks in advance & keep up the good work.
thanks for taking an interest in the theme!
As far as your questions go, the solution to expanding the width of the portfolio posts (i.e. lightboxes) is already available, and can be found on the following page: http://themeforest.net/item/firefly-interactive-responsive-portfolio-theme/discussion/3385408?page=2
Note: look for the comment posted by a user named “nforce”.
Enjoy working with the theme, if you end up buying it!

Waiting for your next masterpiece!
Thank you so much for being a loyal customer! I hope I will produce a stunner the next time around, but I unfortunately can not confirm when that will be, as I do not plan to work on a new theme over the summer.
P.S. I’ll make sure I’m back with a bang.
All the best,
just a quick one: is there an option to display home page thumbnails as a masonry? So the image will not be cropped – but it will keep in the original ratio (square, horizontal or vertical rectangle).
Nice theme by the way, I’m considering buying it, just want to double check that one thing.
thank you for taking an interest in the theme!
As far as your question goes, there is unfortunately no such option, but it should definitely be an easy job for a developer to make the portfolio thumbnails display as a masonry.
Have fun working with the theme, if you end up buying it!
I’m thinking about buying your theme and have a few questions:
1. I only want to use this as a blog. Can I turn off the home page, services and clients sections that are intended for an agency and make the blog my home page?
2. Is using your more robust theme for just blogging potentially problematic? For example, I don’t see a feature for categorizing blog posts. Can I categorize blog posts? Are there other items I would find in a blog-centric theme that I wouldn’t find in this theme?
3. Can I control how many thumbnails are displayed on the blog page?
4. Can images be made square on the blog like they are on the home page?
And if you have any themes that are similar to this one that are solely for blogging, I’d love to hear about them!
thank you for taking an interest in the Firefly theme!
Regarding your questions:
1) Sure thing. This is available out of the box.
2) You can certainly categorize blog posts, but I can think of a potentially problematic scenario, where you have a large number of blog posts, and you try to display your categories in the menu. The thing is, the categories don’t have the “load more” buttons, so they would display all the posts automatically, which could pose some problems with the loading times of those pages. All in all, your safest bet might be to aim at a WordPress theme made specifically for blogging.
3) Yes, you can do this on the main blog page.
4) This is possible as well.
Hope this helps with making your decision!
Hi there – quick question before buying – can i adjust this so its not full width/stretched but rather boxed?
thanks for taking Firefly into consideration!
As far as your question goes, you can certainly adjust the theme, but it would take some development work from you, given that this feature is not available out of the box.
By the way, my latest theme “Tao”, that has just been given a green light by themeforest, has a boxed layout, so you might want to check it out instead, if you are after that “boxed” website. It should be available for sale tomorrow, or at the start of the next week.
I wish you the best of luck whatever you choose to do!
I really like the theme overall but need the homepage to have simple full-width slider, is this possible out of box?
Also, are there more/different options to display portfolio thumbnails?
thanks for taking the theme into consideration!
When it comes to your questions, the answers to both of them are an unfortunate no, meaning that some development work would be required of you, if you wanted to have these features inside the theme.
If you are not a developer, but are still interested in the theme, then you can always consider hiring a freelancer for these two tasks.
Hi i’d like to buy “Firefly” theme but i have some questions about video support and about blog layout
- video support is only for Vimeo or it is possible to embed youtube video too?
- blog layout on Firefly theme is very cool and catchy but where i can find, for example an archive pagination or the possibility to see all the post, like in your “yin & yang theme”?
thanks so much in advance!
thank you for taking the theme into consideration!
To answer your questions:
1) You can certainly embed YouTube videos as well.
2) Firefly offers a “Load More” button, which you can use to check out older posts, but I am afraid it doesn’t have a traditional pagination.
Not sure if this question has been asked in previous comments.
I’m getting ready to purchase this theme but wanted to make sure that the colors scheme and other visual functionality is easily customization in the theme options? I love how the theme functions but would like to make sure I can customize it to match pre-existing branding.
As far as your question goes, there are unfortunately no options to change the color scheme, but you can always change any styling related to the theme via CSS, if you are still interested in purchasing Firefly.
I wish you the best of luck whatever you choose to do!
where is data sample xml file please ?
Thanks for reply.
I found it in documentation, thanks !
No worries – glad you were able to locate the file!
For any further questions regarding the theme, please post on the forum at http://onioneye.ticksy.com/ because this section is only used for pre-purchase questions.
