Well no edit function.. Problem solved: all terms (not that much) manually modified in sources.

Ah, now I see that you managed to handle the translation. Please ignore my previous reply. :)

Hola onioneye!

How i can increase single post width in portfolio? 600px is not enough

onioneye

Hi there,

once again, thanks for buying the theme! Appreciate it. :)

You should use the following code to increase the width of the single post area:

#single-post { max-width: 800px; }

Please feel free to play with the width value, until you get it right. Once you are done, you can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

After all that, you would just need to update the $desired_width variable in the portfolio-post.php file, to match the one you chose, and you should be fine.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Thank you! Problem solved!) And i have another question about responsive logo. If the width of the my horizontal logo 500px, on the small screen is not resize. So there is a limit to the width of the logo?

onioneye

Hi there,

you are very much welcome! Glad I could be of some help. :)

As far as your latest question goes, the logo is always resized, if it doesn’t fit the boundaries of its container, so there definitely is no limit, when it comes to its dimensions. In other words, you can upload a logo of any width.

Having said that, how come you say it doesn’t resize for you?

Sincerely,

OnionEye

As you can see the logo is resized only in the browser Chrome.

Hi there,

the following code should easily fix that:

#logo a { display: block; }

You can include the code at the bottom of the style.css file, or via some plugin, made for the purpose of embedding custom CSS to the theme.

Onioneye,

Awesome theme!! 2 questions though…..

1. How can I center the main logo?

2. Is it possible to have the portfolio items link out straight away, rather than having to click “Launch” once in the post?

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you find the theme awesome! Thanks for buying it. :)

To answer your questions:

1) The main logo is already centered by default, but is pushed to the left side in case you are only using the social networking links in the header, or the contact info, next to the logo. In that case, the logo should be on the left side because that’s the best alignment for it. Otherwise, it would break on smaller screen sizes. However, you can make this work, but some custom development is required of you, which is most definitely a task for a developer.

2) I am not entirely sure what you meant by that. Care to explain it further?

When a portfolio item is clicked, you are taken into the detail page of the item. I’d like to skip all this and make each portfolio item a hyperlink out to a website.

I’m using the theme as a showcase for all of our company’s websites and would prefer each item to link directly out to the individual sites.

Does that make sense?

www.ATXBrands.com

onioneye

Hi there,

now it definitely makes sense; thanks for explaining it further.

Having the items link to other domains is certainly possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a developer.

By the way, if you are not a developer yourself, but absolutely need to have the mentioned feature available in your copy of the theme, then my best suggestion for you is to turn to the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/ to find a reputable freelancer for the job.

Hint: the main files to modify in this case are portfolio.php and jquery.header.custom.js. One or two other theme files might possibly be needed to change as well, but that all depends on how you introduce your modification.

Good luck with this! :)

HI there… this is my first venture into wordpress. I love your theme and it’s the reason why I went with wordpress. I am having a hard time figuring out how to get the blog connected to a link in the menu… I know this is rudimentary stuff but if you know… I’d love some help. http://69.195.124.70/~therisi7/

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for buying it. :)

As far as your question goes, please read the documentation, that’s found in the main folder. It contains all the instructions on how to install and completely setup the theme, including the blog.

First of all thanks for this amazing Theme! Helps a lot!!!!!

Sadly i get this message, if i want to add a new images to the media-uploader, “(IMAGE) has failed to upload due to an error Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.”

I tried different File-Types, Uploads and changed the Read/Write rights but that won’t help. Is it possible that there is some kind of limit of files? Right now i have 50 files in the media library, seems like a limited number……

Thanks in advance, Lasse

Hi onioneye,

Why is the mail address not clickable in the header ? oO Is it possible to make it clickable ?

onioneye

Hi there,

many, if not most of the sites on the web nowadays don’t use the mailto tag, and therefore I am not using it as well because I think many users find it annoying. The reason behind that is the email program that gets launched, which might take some time to fire up, and which may not be the thing the user expected or wanted when he/she clicked on what looked like a link.

Having said that, if you wanted to make this work, then you would have to modify the header.php file; i.e. wrap the place where the email address is outputted (echo-ed), with a mailto anchor. Here’s an example of one, just for your convenience:

<a href="mailto:someone@example.com">mailto:someone@example.com</a>

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,

OnionEye

Thanks mate ! I give you 5 stars ;)

Another question : is there a way to paginate home portfolio ? I mean I have a lot of items to show and I don’t want my homepage to be 5 miles height :)

onioneye

Hi there,

thanks you so much for the five-star rating! Appreciate it. :)

As far as your latest question goes, I completely understand your concern, but the portfolio doesn’t have a built-in pagination, so some additional development work would be required of you to make it happen.

By the way, the reason I haven’t made it is because the combination of a filter and pagination would result in an added layer of complexity, that could have disastrous effects on the usability of the site. Having said that, it is possible to make something that would work “OK,” but that would not be an easy job. However, I don’t see why a skillful developer couldn’t make it, if it was an absolutely needed customization.

Sincerely,

OnionEye

linuskristensen

Ok. Totally agree with your point of view.

I will show a fixed number of items, changing them regularly to improve synergy ;)

Hi there, I love the new theme.

I’m looking at your theme (http://onioneyethemes.com/firefly) on Chrome Version 23.0.1271.91 (most up to date) and running into an issue with the portfolio piece on the homepage. When I click on the portfolio thumbnails, it just spins – the lightbox doesn’t appear. I looked at your theme on Firefox, and the lightbox works fine. I’m assuming something is wonky with the javascript. Will this be updated?

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks for buying it. :)

As far as the issue goes, the theme works perfectly in Chrome, so no worries about that. The reason behind the items’ inability to load is most probably due to the fact that you logged in your WordPress admin panel, and then logged out in the meantime. WordPress had you “marked” as admin, when you were logged in, and viewing your site at the same time. Now, as soon as you logged out, you lost that status, and with it, you lost the permissions to execute AJAX requests (i.e. load items) as well, in the tabs where your site was active, because WordPress couldn’t recognize you as admin anymore, so the security system kicked in, and blocked you from executing any further AJAX requests.

Having said all that, you need to open you site in a new tab, if you log out of your WordPress admin panel, in the meantime. That’s why your items weren’t loading at times. However, if you still continue experiencing the same issue, please feel free to share the link to your site with me here, by replying to this post (there is a “Reply” button at the start of this thread), and I will inspect things further.

Hello Onioneye.

Hi there! new question for me… can we make the size of the portfolio icon images smaller? meaning instead of 353×333 can they by 200×186?

onioneye

Hi there, again. :)

As far as your latest question goes, it is certainly possible to make your preview images smaller, but that would mean customizing the portfolio grid under the “Media Queries” section of the style.css file, and the “Portfolio” section of the jquery.header.custom.js file, to display more columns per a specific width of the viewer’s screen, so that the images can perfectly fit inside the items, without being too small in width for some screen resolutions. This would take some tinkering with the code and resizing the screen to make sure everything is just right, so my best suggestion for you is to turn to the forums, or Envato’s freelance marketplace, http://freelanceswitch.com/ to find a reputable freelancer/developer for the job, if you are not one yourself. A developer should be able to complete this customization fairly quickly.

Hi, I love this theme-super pretty and flexible. But I have a wordpress question: do my blog posts have to show in a modal window when clicked from the tiles on the home page? And when users click ‘blog’ in the main menu, how to I set it up so that they go to a chronological static page of all my posts?

Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you love the theme! Thanks a lot for the purchase. :)

To answer your questions:

1) This is certainly possible, but since it is not available out of the box, some development work is required of you, and that is most definitely a task for a developer.

2) Blog posts are actually loaded and shown in a chronological order; it’s just that the blog page utilizes the masonry layout, like millions of other sites out there, so some posts need to be repositioned a bit, for the best layout possible. If you want to have the posts shown differently, some development work would be required of you, and that is once again a task for a developer.

Hope this helps!

Beautiful work. Can you show me where the slider is? Are there any tabs or toggles in this theme? Also, are there drop down menus there, can I see them?

Thanks!

onioneye

Hi there,

glad you find the theme beautiful! Thanks for taking an interest in it. :)

To answer your questions:

1) The slider shows when you open one of the items, that has multiple images embedded to it. Here’s one for example (click on the images, or arrows that are on top of them, to see the slider in action): http://onioneyethemes.com/firefly/portfolio/web-development/

2) No, there are no tabs or toggles, but the following plugin should enable that for you to use in any theme you like: http://www.themezilla.com/plugins/zillashortcodes/

3) Sure thing. The drop-down menu can be seen if you hover over the “Backgrounds” menu item, found at the top.

That’s it. Enjoy working with the theme, if you end up buying it!

Sincerely,

Thanks… can this slider be used as a full width home page slider too?

onioneye

You are very much welcome! The slider can certainly be used as a full width homepage slider, but that would take some development work on your behalf because this is not available out of the box.

By the way, I am certain a skillful developer could complete this without any problems.

i really want to buy your theme firefly. but when i check it on the ipad or iphone the filter projects function doesn’t work as on the big browser or as on your template yin&yang.

Could please give me feedback. Thanks from Germany.

As far as the filter goes, can you please tell me what exactly doesn’t work about it, when it comes to using it on the iPad and the iPhone? I tested it before releasing the theme, and it worked perfectly for me, so I am a bit confused.
