Hey Brandon, love your theme. I have the same question as chris2009

Hi Brandon, really great Theme!! Made all my customisations but one little problem I can’t solve.

Center Screen the Content Container ( Content + Sidebar ) that its not on the left side but centered. How do I do this?

If I do Margin: 0 auto; in the css it gets overwritten somehow

Cheers Chris

From what I can tell the php function inserts the inline styles on the container div. so even if you customise the css file, the php add this inline code to the div and overwrites any previous change.

this is the style that is added automatically to the single.php page once the post is loaded:

position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; display: block;

It would be great to hear from you on this matter.

Thanks, Tassio

Is it possible to have the grid-style on more than one page? For example, I would like a grid for my documentary page, shorts page, and art gallery page. Is it only possible to have the grid on the home page?

Thank you

Just drop your Vimeo video link into the “lightbox_link” custom field and it’ll launch your videos ;)

About a year ago someone asked about centering the theme and you said it would be out in the next update. I’m using the most recent version and can’t see how to do this. Can you give me a heads up on how to center a single post?

I purchased this theme, made lots of pages and then the whole theme has disappeared including all my content. I am really annoyed. Pls advise.

Hi epicera, I try to customise the “submit a comment” button in the comments section. I want to import an image in background instead of the black color. How can I do that ? Thank you.

Hi everybody,

For those who want to know how to switch the “submit a comment” button in the comments section to image button, solution to solve the problem is in the css file called core.css

Check line 301 and turn :

input#submit{background: #ff0000; color: white;}

to :

input#submit{ background: #ff0000; color: white; position: relative; top: 10px; background: #FFF; color: #FFF; width: 230px; height: 50px; background-image:url(yourbutton.gif); background-repeat:no-repeat; cursor: pointer; }

Hope it helps.

Something’s wrong with my copy/past on my previous post.

In core.css, check line 301 and turn :

input#submit{background: #111; color: white;}

to :

input#submit{ position: relative; top: 10px; background: #FFF; color: #FFF; border:1px solid #FFF; width: 230px; height: 50px; background-image:url(yourbutton.gif); background-repeat:no-repeat; cursor: pointer; }

Hi Brandon

I’ve seen this question pop up quite a bit but thought I’d ask it one more time just in case an answer is on the horizon.

Is there any way to center the posts to the screen? I have everything customized exactly how I want it but there’s this one issue where I’ve hit a brick wall. I only have my demo reel displayed on the front page and it looks a bit weird when it’s not nice and centered.

Cheers Travis

Hey Brandon, it’s me again. Don’t bother about centering the post, got that happening after a few days trying, but please help me out on this one, it should be simple.

I’ve been trying to use the lightbox gallery but I have had no luck. When I try a lightbox_link and add the image url to the other field, everything runs fine. But when I try to use lightbox_gallery_link nothing happens, it opens a standard post page.

I think it might be because I’m not adding the right values to the field, I’ve tried one image url and the other urls on the body of the post (as per documentation), I’ve tried several urls separated by a comma, separated by semi-colon…. nothing seems to make it work.

Please let me know what’s the issue here.

Cheers,

Tassio

Hi Tassio

Is there any chance of you sharing how you centered your posts?

There seems to be quite a few people on here and another forum who would like to know how to do it (including me).

Anyway it’d be great if you could pop a few tips on here of what you did.

Cheers Travis

Hey Travis, I’ve been meaning to do that, I saw how many other people were struggling with that when I was searching it myself, and I gotta say I’m pretty disappointed with how the author / seller handles the customer service and support.

Here is a brief explanation on how to center the posts, I’m not going to go through the whole process because I haven’t kept track of it myself, there were so many tries on css, js files… but the main thing is this:

IMPORTANT STEPS FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO CENTER THEIR POSTS , FROM SOMEONE WHO ’S BEEN THERE :

1 – Open the “js” folder inside the “Flex” folder.

2 – Open the file: “jquery.vgrid.0.1.5.min.js” and search for:

.css(“position”,”absolute”);

3 – Change it to

.css(“position”,”relative”);

then save the file and upload it.

This is that damned “absolute” value that comes up inside the post tag when the post is loaded, and pushes the whole post to the left.

It is not just that, as I said, I have tried a few things before on the css files like margin:0 auto; through many ids and classes, so there are a few other things to be done, but this is definitely the key change to make it happen.

If I’ve been helpful in anyway, please come by and check my portfolio, made in flex.

Hey Tassio

Thanks so much for the reply. You’re the man! I reallly appreciate it as I’m sure many others will too. I’ll have a look at it tonight and that info should at least get me on the right track.

I agree with you about the lack of customer support in regards to this. Especially since there are so many people with the same problem it would be nice to get some kind of response.

Thanks again.

Cheers Travis

No worries trazza, glad to help, hopefully someone will come and help me with the lightbox gallery, luckily you wont need this feature, because it is a pain as well.

Any way, a bit more of info on centering the posts I am extracting from the reply I gave u on the authors customer support forum (makedesignnotwar):

” One other thing I did was coming up with a fixed width for my posts, lets say 800px, and then I would push the post -400px left (as now it is centered) and make sure the post content was 800px wide, through an inside layer, image, whatever. This is because if you push the post -400px left and put only a 600px wide image inside the post, it is not going to be centered, it is going to be a 600px wide post, positioned -400px to the left, which means it will only be 200px to the right. “

Sadly it hasn’t quite worked for me. It’s weird actually because it worked on my home page and on my blog posts but my other pages stay as they were. It also totally messes up my portfolio pages and the grid layout. Oh well I guess I’ll just have to keep messing with it and hope I can get it working through trial and error.

Thanks again for the info though.

Hi Epicera,

wonderful theme, great to work with – one problem anyway.

In IE 9 on Windows 7, the Cufon Font doesn’t show up on my site.

Try: http://www.sunmusix.de

So no navigation, no article headlines on starting page ;-(

In every other Browser it works. I use Flex 2.0.0

Okay, I changed the League-Gothic-Font for a new version with german special characters – but obviously this is not the problem, cause when I change to your unmodified font and your unmodified cufon-yui.js, it still doesn’t work.

Anyway, the IE 9 seems to be able to render to cufon, cause with the same software situation, your demo on Themeforest works.

Any idea what might cause this. My customer is not so happy with me right now… ;-(

Thx, Joerg

Hm, no answer concerning my Cufon problems. Customer’s waiting, it’s really urgent… So please!!! Thx!

Has the author stopped supporting this theme?

Before I purchase, I would like to see the centerable subpages, or fluid / 100% width would be even better!
