Excuse the newbie question!

How do I get my grouped images to appear as a grid and then appear indiviudally on a slider – as per the demo? At the moment the images appear sliding down the side bar. Here is the site in question: www.jodykingzett.com

Been trying for hours and just about getting my head around it all.

Thanks for your help Villius.

Hi,

I’ve purchased your theme and it’s a very good one!! It’s a great job! (and I’ve tried some….)

Just a question: Can I replace the social icons? And how?

Thanks.

Hi, great looking theme, one quick question… what happens if i have more than 12 projects? scroll? pagination?

thanks!

intheme

Hi,

thanks! If you have more than 12 projects in grid portfolio you get horizontal scrolling.

An image “anti-theft” solution would be great. The kind that disable right-clicks and keep people from just click/dragging images off the site would be great. Since this is a high-resolution site requiring images at 1500px on the long edge, these are sufficient enough for someone to steal/print, etc. Please implement this soon.

I would also like to say that I appreciate your fast response time to comments left here and that your “ground level” users are getting the opportunity to give input into the way this theme develops. Kuddos to you sire.

Hi, Excellent theme. I’ve just got two thing i just can’t figure out.

1. I’m not getting BOLD, words just won`t show in bold. any idea why?

2. How can i change the order of the “project types” which appear in the left side?

Thank you! have a great day.

one final question and I’m done (hopefully)!

how do I remove the set of pictures on the side?

Hi,

when you create a portfolio project, you are inserting the images into content. That’s why you see them in the sidebar. Simply edit your project and just delete the images from content area.

That’s it :-) You’ve got quite some lovely London snaps, looks great! The only thing is the logo, I think you would benefit from a smaller logo. ; )

Hi! what files i have to do for trasform the “3 columns 2 rows” portfolio in “2 columns 2 rows”?!

Many thanks L

Hi,

it’s very easy to do. Edit file inc/portfolio.php – find a line that says

$size_options = array(
                    '5 4' => '5 columns, 4 rows',
                    '5 3' => '5 columns, 3 rows',
                    '4 3' => '4 columns, 3 rows',
                    '3 3' => '3 columns, 3 rows',
                    '3 2' => '3 columns, 2 rows'
                );

and change it to this

$size_options = array(
                    '5 4' => '5 columns, 4 rows',
                    '5 3' => '5 columns, 3 rows',
                    '4 3' => '4 columns, 3 rows',
                    '3 3' => '3 columns, 3 rows',
                    '3 2' => '3 columns, 2 rows',
                    '2 2' => '2 columns, 2 rows'
                );

Hi! I have upload the logo in fluxus, but when I reduce the window of my laptop to see how the header secondary menu (6 elements) behavior works i have the folloving problem:

The menu elements (on the right up corner) moves behind my logo, also when I reduce the laptop window in the effective size of an i pad tablet screen.

How I can resolve this problem?

Thanks a lot Robert

Default-user

I am sorry, not yet. But maybe you can simulate this condition very quickly by uploading 6 elements on the header secondary menu? For the logo we have used a .jpg file H.39 pixel W.117 pixel

Thank you in advance Robert

intheme

Hi,

yes I’ve got it. I’ll fix it, so that when there’s not enough space, the menu will occupy two lines. This is not perfect, as menu taking up two lines won’t look very nice, so you could try doing some other stuff like:

1. Change the navigation structure and make your menu a bit shorter. 2. Reduce space between links and/or reduce font size.

I think visually that would be more correct.

Let me know if you were able to come up with something.

Thanks, Vilius

Hi Vilius, we are an architecture and interior design firm and working on fluxus looks really good for our general scope. Actually I am not able to reduce space between links and/or reduce font size. Could you help me in explaining the way for doing this two things?

Thank you in advance, Robert

How does one edit a slideshow?

1. Created portfolio.

2. Go to “Add Media”

3. Go to “Slider”

4. Upload images

5. Save everything

6. Post is great.

7. Go back to portfolio > “Add Media”

8. “Slider” link is gone.

intheme

Hi,

I think you are mixing things up. If you want to create a Full Page Slider (like here http://inthe.me/demo/fluxus) then you need to

1. Create a page

2. Set page template to Full Page Slider

3. Go to “Add Media”

4. Upload new images

5. Go to “Slider”

6. Add any additional info and publish each slide.

7. Full page slider should be visible.

Now if you want to add images to your portfolio project, then you need to:

1. Create portfolio project

2. Go to “Add Media”

3. Upload images

4. Save everything

5. Done.

6. Go back to portfolio project

7. Click “Add Media”

8. Select “Images uploaded to this post”

9. You can now see your project images, remove them, drag them to reorder, upload additional images.

Hope this clarifies things up.

Cheers, Vilius

Yes. I was conflating the two post types in my head. Thanks!

Hey there – Through the Envato Toolkit, I’ve updated to the most recent version of Fluxus, 1.0.6, and now I keep getting the following message: Warning: include_once(/nfs/c08/h01/mnt/118673/domains/kbas.co/html/wp-content/themes/fluxus/inc/user.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /nfs/c08/h01/mnt/118673/domains/kbas.co/html/wp-content/themes/fluxus/functions.php on line 258

Can you please tell me what this means? and why I can’t use the original logo and favicon images I had already uploaded into my Media library?

Thanks!

Now I’m really in a panic! I seem to have lost my site! Was receiving errors trying to upload images, so logged out and now I can not even get to my WP dashboard… Please let me know if this is a WP issue or if something went haywire when I upgraded to Fluxus 1.0.6 via the Envato Toolkit? Site in question is www.kbas.co

intheme

Hi, everything you’ve said is correct : ) Connect via FTP find “inc” folder and put the file user.php there. Instead of creating the file by yourself you could also take it from the original download, maybe that would be easier for you.

I’m waiting to see if this worked for you : )

Default-user

Vilius – it did work! Thank you! In the future, how do you suggest I update to the newest versions of Fluxus as they come available? Is it OK to keep using Envato or is there a better plugin? Thanks again for your quick replies!

intheme

Hi,

I think FTP is the most reliable. You rename the old theme to fluxus-old, then you upload the new one, see if everything is ok, if not you rename fluxus-old back and have everything how it was. : )

Of course I’d love to make an automatic updates sometime in the future.

Cheers, Vilius

Vilius, Is there any way to implement some sort of system of tool tips or something to display an images title in the portfolio sections if you roll over the image?

intheme

Hi,

yep, they are coming hopefully this week. Try following @in_theme to get notified about the update.

Thanks, Vilius

Hi, I wonder how to group port folio in categories? I did create some projects in port folio, such as landscapes, wedding, etc. but when I created a page, there is no project types panel that I can choose.

For example, if I want to have some different pages that show different port folios such as the first page is landscapes and natures and inside would be different albums like Asia, USA, Europe, etc. and another page would be weddings in different clients. Would it be possible to do that???

Hope you understand what I meant (sorry for bad explanation) and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks!

Hi,

have a minor issue(s)/questions:

1) sometimes when I input media onto the page, it doesn’t appear in the order of the HTML source. for example: HTML image 1,2,3. but when i view the post the images appear in random order like 1,3,2 or 2,1,3.

2) are there ways to place a description of the post while still having the horizontal portfolio/post?

Thanks.

Not a bug but just a question on the way horizontal scrolling works between photos in a portfolio.

What measure does clicking on the < > buttons or using the keyboard arrows move things over?

On my browser, it will often move to the middle of a photo. Is it moving a set pixel width, an amount equal to the width of the browser or something else?

I like the idea of the portfolio but unless I’ve set it up wrong the act of scrolling through the photos and often seeing half of it cut off seems like a bad user experience.

EDIT: I think it is moving the left-most part of the photo to the start position of the first photo when you load the page (that’s to say the area just right of the sidebar with the portfolio info). Wondering if having photos scroll to the start of the “sidebar” area instead of the “content” area would help? Any idea where I could change that behaviour to test that out? I assume it is in some mysterious jQuery code. :)

intheme

Hi,

that’s a very good point. Currently it does not take into account the image size, so if you have a very long image which goes out of screen bounds, then you’ll get it cut of. I’ll try to improve this in future. Meanwhile if you’d like to get your hands dirty it’s in the main.js file. Find the first line that says getAlignX and try changing it into

getAlignX: function () { return 10; }

Now your images will stick to the very left side. I’m not sure how useful is this though ; )

Hi there! Just two quick questions:

1) How do you actually link up the “more” button in the Services shortcode? Tried a few option but didn’t get it to function…

2) Still interested if you think a multi-language plugin (such as WPML) would work with this (before I mess everything up).

Cheers!

intheme

Hi,

1) The button is just a shortcode, add this

[button url="#"]Button #1[/button]

into your services shortcode content and you’ll get one : )

2) Are you talking about this one http://wpml.org/purchase/ ? Are you willing to create the website in two languages? If so, then I’m not sure. Should be possible probably. But if you only want to translate the theme into spanish, then it’s definitely doable. Just download POEdit, open the default.po file that comes with the theme, translate your messages and save it as es_ES.po. Google around how to activate your translated file and your website will be in spanish : )

When I click on “Like” from the Share option on a portfolio item, the Facebook window is too narrow to display correctly. When I inspect it, there is a span with a width of 75px. 450px seems like the width it should be to show the comment field and “Post to Facebook” button, but I don’t know where to make that adjustment. Can you help?

Thanks!

BTW, this theme was super simple to work with and setup. Great work!

intheme

Hi,

try adding this to your user.css file

.sharrre-footer .fb_iframe_widget span,
.sharrre-footer .fb_iframe_widget span[style] {
    overflow: visible;
    width: 500px !important;
}

This will give the Facebook box enough space. But it still may get cut off by the bottom of the screen. To prevent that you should use all sharing networks or increase the popup height by adding this to your user.css

.sharrre-footer .buttons { min-height: 220px }

In future releases I’ll fix this by preventing the popup to show up in the first place.

Cheers, Vilius
