bonkBLVD – this has been raised several times – same as the issue with Google plus sharing which is impossible to do.

Would be awesome to hear that Vilius is fixing these, people see this great work on a really nice site and will want to share it, its the top email I get from my visitors – “I want to share your work but your share buttons are broke” -

Please fix it :D

Vilius, thanks for this. I’ve fixed the Facebook share however I cannot get Google Plus to work. The problem is that as soon as the cursor moves from the +1 button, the focus is lost and the ‘Share this publicly’ screen goes with it (unlike the facebook share which maintains focus)

Any ideas on the +1?

Hey,

I’ve seen you posted on Sharrre plugin GitHub issues page X-) I’ve spent yesterday a couple of hours investigating the issue. The conclusion is that:

1. Aligning share buttons is a pain, but hiding them is even bigger. 2. To fix Google Plus, I’ll have to change the share widget behavior so that it shows share networks on click rather than on hover.

Unless I think of a better solution this will go in the next release.

OK, Thank you!

Hi Villius – would appreciate it if you took a moment to answer these questions. I have a website www.jodykingzett.com and have created a few portfolios with images placed in. They have all been loaded the same way but display is three different ways!

http://www.jodykingzett.com/portfolio/uncategorised/abstract-boats Doesn’t display at all. http://www.jodykingzett.com/portfolio/uncategorised/portraits Displays the images down the side bar only. http://www.jodykingzett.com/portfolio/uncategorised/events Displays normally as per the original description of the theme.

I have spent ages trying to fix this and am at a dead end.

Many thanks

Jody

Following on from the previous post – again I created a new portfolio. http://www.jodykingzett.com/portfolio/uncategorised/tear-sheets This time I: a. did not add it to the photos page and yet it still appears there b. uploaded the images and it appeared normally with a slider. c. moved the images around using the edit > then cut and paste … this time the images didn’t move around but extra images appeared in the side bar.

Now I’m very confused and wasting quite a lot of time on this…

Any help Villius would be …. good :-)

Hi,

oh, the issue is very simple, I’m sorry it got you so frustrated. To add the images to your portfolio project you have just to upload them and that’s it.

1. Don’t insert them into content (this is why they show up in the sidebar, I bet you don’t want that) 2. Don’t select existing images, only images uploaded to your project page will get shown. So you click “Add Media” then upload some photos and you will see them. And if you choose “Images uploaded to this post” you can delete them or reorder them.

This is causing frustration to lot’s of visitor so I’m changing this behavior in the next update. I hope you’ll like it ; )

Hi Villius – really appreciate the response and info… will give it a go. Am a much happier man now :-) cheers. JK

Hi Villius!

My website is becoming so nice with your theme :D

But I have a huge problem. When I create the menus I don’t see any project types to add to them. I’ve already added some portfolios to each project type but they don’t appear anyway.

I can add pages but not portoflios. Have a look here http://www.jcriss.com

May it be a problem that I’ve created 4 project types including 3 sub project types each? How can I fix that?

Other doubts I have are how to set up the blog and the “Send message” button.

Thanks a lot and congrats for your work!! :)

intheme

Hi,

you are doing it great! I’m very glad! Here are some tips and explanations:

1. When you are on the Menu page, click “Screen Options” (on the top right) and check “Project Types”. They will instantly show up. 2. Setting up the Send Message button is described in the documentation here – http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#contact-form-43 3. Setting up blog is described in the Getting Started section. 4. http://www.jcriss.com/portfolio/personal-personal/humosmoke/ – you are inserting images into content. You don’t need this, just upload the images and that’s it :-)

Keep up!

Cheers, Vilius

Hello.

I have a problem with this theme. We’re not getting a notice when there a updates available. We still have the old version that we installed from the beginning: 1.0.3. We have tried to redownload but can’t install. Has anyone experienced the same?? We have problems with the portfolio and pictures and hope that getting the newer version could solve some of our problems.

Please help!!!

intheme

Hi,

currently there are no automatic updates, so you have to go download it again from ThemeForest (you can find your purchased downloads under your profile downloads tab).

Once you download the new version, upload it to wp-content/themes/fluxus (replacing everything if you have not changed anything). And that’s it :-)

I’m still lost and very new to everything in WordPress! That’s why I have also these ‘stupid’ questions:

When you write: “upload it to wp-content/themes/fluxus”, where is that exactly?? Do I reinstall it under Appearance – theme – install and then upload, or is it somewhere else? I would appreciate a very detailed explanation from either you, Vilius, or someone else, who is also using this theme and has succesfully re-installede!

Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon!

intheme

Hi,

the update has to be done not using Wordpress admin. You have to use a FTP client to connect to your website host. Once you do, you’ll see the directory I’ve mentioned. There’s countless tutorials online on how to do it, for example this one https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#Adding_New_Themes_Manually_.28FTP.29

or if you prefer more details you could easily find Youtube video by searching “Uploading wordpress theme via FTP”.

Try reading some stuff, then try doing and then we can see if you need more help : )

Where can I find more documenation on how to set up a site with this template?

intheme

Hi,

it’s in the theme zip file, under documentation/

Also it’s available online and here’s the link to the exact section you are looking for – http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#getting-started-7

Cheers, Vilius

and where can I find the latest update to this theme?

intheme

Hi,

on ThemeForest go to your profile and find the Downloads tab. Download the theme again and you’ll have the latest version.

Then connect to your website via FTP, navigate to wp-content/themes/fluxus rename it to fluxus-old and upload the new version. Refresh your site and that’s it.

Hi Vilius – If I fill out the ‘captions’ field for an image, where/when does it show up in the slide show/slider? I don’t see the text I input…

intheme

Hi,

Wordpress native captions are only used in post and page content. Currently it’s not possible to add a caption to each of your images in portfolio project, but it will as of 1.1.

Though if you want to set captions for the slider, then you should use the Slider tab. There you can set title, subtile, description and other things.

Cheers, Vilius

@jodykingzett Don’t “insert into post” on those photos. The content of the post is what appears in the sidebar.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I really love this theme! But I got some problems with the submenu. When I integrate a portfolio (fotografie) as menu title, other categories are highlighted yellow as well. Can you help out? THX very much in advance! See http://www.michaelabenecke.de/

intheme

Hi,

I think you’ve set up two portfolio pages. Multiple portfolios are coming in the next release, meanwhile I can suggest following structure:

1. Remove portfolio pages from the menu. 2. Create two project types named “Corporate” and “Editorial”. 3. Add those project types to your menu. 4. Add your projects under “Corporate” and “Editorial”

What will happen:

Once people click “Corporate”, they will see all your works that were tagged with “Corporate”. The same with “Editorial”. When user click on a specific work in the menu, the work will show up and it will be highlighted in the menu.

Also I suggest that you will benefit from the update so stay tuned, it will be released in a few days.

How did you get the gallery (listed under “Features” in the demo) take on the full screen mode? I appear to be stuck with lose images, even if I don’t choose it in the gallery setup. Any idea?

intheme

Hi,

when you create a Wordpress gallery (Add Media > Create Gallery), select each image and set “Link to” to “Media File”. I guess now you are linking to the attachment page, so when you click on the photo you get the attachment page instead of Lightbox.

Cheers, Vilius

Thanks for your speedy answer! But I did try both options (Media File is the default setting anyway), tried switching, tried Pages and Posts (would need it for either). Could I have overlooked anything in the basic settings, maybe?

Got it! In case anyone else is fiddling with the same problem: it works if you turn one image to attachment file, update the page, go back and change it back to media file. Lightbox joy!

Once I’ll manage to get rid of all the metadata piffle on the left side, we got ourselves a nice gallery!

Cheers!

Hi I am wondering if you might did not see my questions 3 days ago.

I look forward to hearing the answer from you

Thanks

Rawinch PURCHASED 3 days ago Flag Hi, I wonder how to group port folio in categories? I did create some projects in port folio, such as landscapes, wedding, etc. but when I created a page, there is no project types panel that I can choose. For example, if I want to have some different pages that show different port folios such as the first page is landscapes and natures and inside would be different albums like Asia, USA, Europe, etc. and another page would be weddings in different clients. Would it be possible to do that??? Hope you understand what I meant (sorry for bad explanation) and I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

intheme

Hi,

sorry for missing your question.

What you are trying to have here is multiple portfolios. This is not yet supported, but it will be with the next release which is coming in a few days. You can follow @in_theme to get notified.

Cheers, Vilius

Hi,

I wrote a question a while ago regarding to adding media to the page. When I add images and preview them its never in the sequence i import them. for example. importing them as 1,2,3. but they post out as 3,2,1 or 3,1,2.

Can this be fixed?

intheme

Hi,

sorry for missing your post. Are you adding the images to portfolio project? If so reordering is very easy: go to “Add Media”, click “Images uploaded to this post” and you’ll see your project images. Now drag them around to reorder : )

Cheers, Vilius

intheme

Oh, also… It’s currently not possible to add titles to project photos, but it will in the next release : )

Default-user

Ive tried reordering them as well but it just didnt work. Would this be a firefox glitch on the mac? Cause they appear in the order I want in the source code but not when its published.

hi,

Full page slider {slideshow} is great!

1) Can we have pause or play button in that ?

I wish to have one full display for every image in a single project. ( just like the full page slider). At the end of the project portfolio, the default text box will appear such as appreciate, share, current project, next, previous etc. __ Please take this request as consideration – if not I’m ready to pay for tweaking the full page slider to replace horizontal portfolio module of single project. __

Let me know your timings,

Regards,

Kallis

intheme

Hi,

I bet slideshow is one of the nicest features, so adding an additional template for displaying project would be a nice addition. But right know I have to finish lots of other things – video, vertical blog, etc., so this must come next. Also I can’t really do any freelance customizations for the same reasons.

Thanks for the offer though.

Hi

I bought your theme today, and I like it very much.

One question, when I look my ?Phone the pictures are not like in your demo, ?t’s bigger than yours. How can I fix these photos ?

Thanks..

my website: www.runtek.com.tr

intheme

Hi,

I’m glad you like it! Your images are very wide and not very high – eg. 1920×816 – so Fluxus is unable to fit them into an iPhone screen, so it crops the sides. You have two options:

1. Use image that have an aspect ratio of 3:2 2. In your slider tab there is an option “Image Scaling”, try choosing “Fit Image” and see how it looks for you.

Cheers, Vilius

Thanks, and one question. I didn’t make grid portfolio on my home page like in your demo? can you help me?

intheme

Hey,

so if you want your grid portfolio to become your homepage you have to go to Settings > Reading. There’s an option “A static page”, select your portfolio page in the “Front page” select box and save changes. That’s it : )

Trying to change the title from “Fluxus” in the Manage Themes section, but each time I type something in the site title box and hit Save and Publish, it remains as the word Fluxus, even though the box says otherwise. Any workaround for this?

intheme

Hi,

the word FLUXUS is a logo (an image), so if you want to change it you should go to Appearance > Theme Options.

Now what you are changing is the title that is displayed in the title of your browser tab.

Hey guys-

The theme is awesome. Was super simple to setup and customize. I just sent it off to a client to take a look at and give feedback to me on the customization I did (which looked really sharp and I was really happy about), and turns out she has IE8 (uggghhh…). I feel like crying…haha.

I figured it can’t hurt to ask, is there any easy way (a couple of lines of code or something) to make it IE8 compatible? No worries, if not…I’ll end up using the theme for another project for sure, but will have to start hers over again with an IE8 compatible theme.

Thanks.

intheme

Oh man,

that is something worst that can happen. The quickest fix is to include Chrome Frame, which will detect if user has installed Chrome Frame, if yes, then the website will be displayed perfectly in IE8 – more on this here https://developers.google.com/chrome/chrome-frame/

Also I’ll try to come up with some fixes for IE8, but it still won’t be supported 100%. Right now I can remember that people are having issues with slider, portfolio and contacts page. I’ll see what can be done for that.

Hi, first of all: Great, great theme! Works wonderful for me. Great documentation, easy handling – even for a beginner like me.

One easy quetion: I can’t find any documentation about the tables that are shown on the demopage. Can somebody help me with this?

intheme

Hi,

Thanks a lot, I’m happy to hear that it works for you! Regarding tables, they are just normal HTML tables. For example try adding this to your page content (make sure you switch your editor to Code mode using the top right tab).

<table>
    <tr>
        <th>Header #1</th>
        <th>Header #2</th>
    </tr>
    <tr>
        <td>Row 1, Column 1</td>
        <td>Row 1, Column 2</td>
    </tr>
</table>

So if you need a simple table, you could Google around how to make create table using HTML, or you could install this plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tinymce-advanced/ – it will let you to create tables much like in MS Office Word. Which is nice :-)

Cheers, Vilius

Hi again! I’m almost done with my web. http://www.jcriss.com I’m just waiting for the vertical blog and the Vimeo option.

I would like also to change the color of the buttons, as my logo is black and red. How can I change it? I’ve seen this (http://themeforest.net/item/fluxus-portfolio-theme-for-photographers/full_screen_preview/3854385) but I don’t know how to use it. :S

One more thing I would love (maybe I’m dreaming) to have is a “private area” for my clients. Is it possible to do that??

Thanks a lot!
