Hi, first of all I really like this theme so much.. But before I buy this theme there are couple things I would like to know.

In portfolio page, there is a description field on the left side. But as you move the slider, the description moved along with the content. So my questions are: 1. Is there a way to lock the project description or portfolio filter, so it will stay while I’m swiping through the content? 2. In the Grid Portfolio, are we able to have the filter as what the horizontal portfolio has?

Thank you so much! Cheers, Novita

Hey,

thanks for your interest. There is currently no way to stick sidebar to the left. It could by done by customizations, but it’s not trivial and I’m afraid I couldn’t help with that.

Grid Portfolio supports filtering projects, but there is no custom navigation for that, so people use categories in main navigation to show grid portfolio with different projects.

Hi,

I recently purchase this theme.

I want my home page similar to the one in the demo theme with full page sliders. I created a page called “Home” with template as “Full page slider”. What do I do next ?

My site address : http://bispan-photostream.com

Hey,

it looks like you have already figured it out.

There’s documentation with the theme, which is also available online here – http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/

Let me know if something is missing in the docs.

How do you update this theme? My last theme prior to Fluxus would tell me when updates were available via my Dashboard and auto install/unpack.

Will I loose my theme options and menu items via a manual install of some sort?

Hey Vilius, it’s me again, I guess you didn’t see my comment. How can I change the space between two images http://i50.tinypic.com/20arzat.jpg in “Full width with sidebar” ? and how can I remove this section: http://i50.tinypic.com/2zohhmd.png ? Best wishes, Julia

intheme

Hey,

you can change spacing by adding this to your user.css file:

.horizontal-page .horizontal-content .horizontal-item {
margin-right: 100px;
}

You can remove Other Projects section with this:

.portfolio-navigation {
display: none;
}

Hi,

Great theme. We seem to have an issue with the Project Media section being missing in the wordpress backend as we cant add images?

Wordpress version 3.5.1 Added a Portfolio item Can see the Project Options panel but no Project Media panel

Also can you tell me what font the Fluxus logo is in?

Many Thanks

intheme

Hey,

sorry, I’ve missed your comment.

Project Media was introduced in Fluxus 1.1 version, so make sure you use this or newer. Also sometimes it might be hidden in the backend, to show it, click Screen Options and tick “Project Media”.

See this – http://cl.ly/image/2i121n3i122i

The font used in the logo is this http://www.fontshop.com/fonts/singles/fontfont/ff_meta_pro_medium/?&fg=000000&bg=ffffff&sample_size=36&sample_text=FLUXUS&ft=liga&acs_pt=32

Thanks Villius for your feedback. Happy you like our work. We are still building the webpage….....Sorry but I have another problem. I’m opening a new porfolio and the project information doesn’t fit. see http://www.46020studio.com/?fluxus_portfolio=construcciones-paralizadas

intheme

Hey,

the best solution would be to decrease letter spacing in the title. Try adding this to your user.css file

.sidebar .title {
letter-spacing: 0;
}

Wonderful Cheers!!!!! That is: http://www.medefine.es/cliente/lightbox1.png

Two issues to consider:

- Left: 50%: The text is not centered. - Responsive: The text hidden the navigation arrows. View image: http://www.medefine.es/cliente/lightbox2.png
intheme

Oh, I thought you were about to style it yourself :-)

Try using this:

.lightbox-alt {
    bottom: 0;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    left: 50%;
    position: absolute;
    z-index: 100000;
    width: 400px;
    margin: 0 0 0 -200px;
    text-align: center;
}

@media screen and (max-width: 768px) {
    .lightbox-alt {
        width: 250px;
        margin-left: -125px;
    }
}

It will make your descriptions 400px wide, that should be enough, otherwise try tuning the widths.

The other rule will reduce the width on small screens, so it does not cover the arrows.

Hello Vilius,

Thanks for your answer for my last question, couple more questions:

I’ve added my copyright footer to the left of the screen rather than the right, you said this may be a problem when adding social icons – is there anyway I can position the social icons somewhere else? like on the right, or even the top right?

Second, what would you say is the best resolution for images to display nicely on the homepage slider?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi,

Caould you tell me how to disable full screen galleries in blog/post. I need to have images no-clickable thanks

intheme

Hey,

first make sure that when you’ve created the gallery, you’ve set “Link to” option to “Attachment page”, like this http://cl.ly/image/2g211O102g0h

Then try adding this to your user.js file:

jQuery(function () {

    jQuery('.gallery a').css('cursor','default').click(false);
    jQuery('.gallery-hover').remove();

});

Hi Vilius,

I upgraded to 1.1.2 and I still cannot add images to my new portfolios or to existing portfolios. The “Add Media” button does not work and adding via “Insert Gallery” allows me to upload images, but they do not show on the portfolio page. Could it be a server issue?

Please let me know, thanks.

intheme

Hey,

I think this is administration issue. As of 1.1 version images in projects have to be added in a different way. On your project edit page scroll down to bottom and you should see this

http://cl.ly/image/3Y3N0Q0y3A1G

Click “Add Image” to add new images to your Project.

If that does not help and you think you are having a server issue, then please contact me over email and we’ll solve this.

Thanks, I think the issue was incompatibility with an old version of Wordpress. I upgraded to the most recent stable release and it works like a charm. You may want to add a reminder in the FAQ to upgrade to the most recent version of WP before using the theme? Thanks!!

hello, I am having trouble selecting Pages on Appearance > Menus. I have created a homepage, artist page and blog and I cannot select the boxes. I can only create a custom menu. The section appears faded out and when I try and click nothing happens. Help.

intheme

Hey,

have you solved it already? My guess is that you haven’t created the menu before hand.

See this screenshot – http://cl.ly/image/3A2o2U1F0A2Q

Enter the name of your menu and click “Create Menu”. Then you will be able to add your existing pages to it.

After you are done, don’t forget to assign it to Header Primary Menu area, like this http://cl.ly/image/0L1E1S1k271R

Hi Vilius, we are an architecture and interior design company uploading our works on the fluxus. We need to add captions for every single photo in the portfolio. Could be possible a second effect option in the next fluxus feature you are working on? We like the idea of having the caption with the same effeft of tonal fade transition you have created yet for the photo preview of the portfolio. The effect i am talking about is the one you used yet for the view work prewiew. The same effect will it be possible in the next feature for every single photo? Thanks in advance Robert

intheme

Hey Robert,

unfortunately this is very specific request and I’m unable to fulfill it. I’m sure you could find someone with some HTML/CSS experience to do this customization for you.

Hey there,

I love the theme! Finally exactly what I was looking for. My problem is that when I upload images in the order I want them to appear in the portfolio section they get completely mixed up when I add them to the gallery. I have to spend 10 minutes just re-organizing the order. Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

Cheers

intheme

Hey,

is this when you add images to your project media? It should behave this way – the latest added item should be displayed first. Do they get added randomly?

Cheers, Vilius

Hey there,

basically i upload the images in the reverse order that I want them to appear but when I insert them into the gallery they are in random order.

Hello! Loving the theme! Just a quick question -

For some reason, ‘related projects’ are not showing up at the end of the portfolio. (Sample portfolio page – http://www.livelaughdesign.com/frasermoore/portfolio/adventure/zion-national-park/) I just checked on a PC in Firefox and Chrome and they’re fine – however on Safari on a Mac, not so much.

Suggestions on how to fix this?

Thank youuu!

intheme

Hey,

so the issue is on small screens only. Since you use a quite high logo, you don’t have enough space left for “Other Projects” area. This is what you could do.

1. Remove overflow: scroll from ”.other-projects” container. It wasn’t there in a first place, so I guess you’ve added it while trying to solve spacing issue.

2. Reduce other projects count to 4 rather than 8. This can be done by editing single-fluxus_portfolio.php file. Find a link that says

$related_projects = PortfolioProject::find_related_projects( $project->post->ID );

and change it to

$related_projects = PortfolioProject::find_related_projects( $project->post->ID, 4 );

This should solve the issue.

Cheers, Vilius

Hello!

Congrats again for this theme!

I found out myself how to set a gallery the way is shown in your “live preview”. But I still have a little issue with galleries. Even tough I uploaded and inserted my pictures as vertical oriented, they do not show correctly in the gallery preview, as thumbnails. Looks like they automatically rotate on 90. And they do it only in one gallery.

My deadline is very short. Your theme is so well developed, that allowed me to make a nice website in a short time, now everything is set, but this gallery thumbnails.

Could you help me please?

Thanks! Alice

Intheme please I need your help, if I don’t get to fix this my client won’t pay me :(

Default-user

I uploaded again all the pictures I need for the galleries and then I create the gallery from sketch, but “as default” seems that the gallery thumbnail rotates.

I looked into the Editor – Gallery CSS but I can’t find a hint. My deadline is tomorrow…

Thanks!

intheme

Hey,

please contact me at contact@inthe.me and we’ll solve this. I’ll need to ask you your login info and to send me an example image which gets rotated when you upload it.

Thanks, Vilius

Hi Villius,

I’ve downloaded the latest version of the theme and will be updating shortly. I’ve read on the log of changes and the documentation with the download and can’t seem to find answers to two issues I have:

1. How can I re-order the appearance of the squares when a grid portfolio is displayed.

2. With the latest update will we be able to create grid portfolios within a grid portfolio. E.g. If I have a box in a grid called documentary which takes me to through to another grid with the different projects I’ve worked on?

Getting good feedback on the site – so well done on your work :-)

intheme

Hey,

that’s some great news!

1. I’ve just written a section in the docs on ordering projects – http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#ordering-projects-110

2. I like this, I’ll do it in upcoming updates.

Cheers, Vilius

Hello Villius,

I have “multiple portfolios” and I want to use in all project types Grid portfolio layouts. It’s in the documentation:

“Note that you currently can not use Grid and horizontal layouts portfolio at the sametime. That means there is no way to show one project type using Grid layout and another using horizontal layout.”

I understand so that it is possible. How can I enable it? Now everything is just “Horizontal layout” shown.

Thank you very much. :)

intheme

Hey,

so when the Fluxus theme has to decide which layout to use for displaying project type it goes through every page and checks their templates. If it can find a page that has Horizontal Portfolio template, then it uses Horizontal layout. If it finds a page that has Grid Portfolio template set, then it uses Grid portfolio.

In other words edit your Portfolio page and set it’s template to Grid Portfolio. But make sure you don’t have any other pages that have Horizontal Portfolio set as a template.

Hello Villius,

Thanks for your help. I had on my website no page with grid layout, as I had created a page with a grid layout, grid layout is published in multiple portfolios. Now I have the next question, how do I change Grid Options under the multiple portfolios, the time is 3 rows … columns.

Many thanks in advance.

Ok it’s official! It wasn’t all this time because I was learning how to use it, and add in my own style touches etc., but now it’s official :P

I absolutely LOVE this theme! So well documented, so beautifully thought out and set up, looks fantastic on all screens, and yet so intuitive and simple to customize and populate!!

Mr. Vilius, you’ve outdone yourself, man! Keep up the awesome work!

Hi, Nice theme – well done. I’ve just found 1 issue that is a problem for my client.

When using slides on homepage, Pinterest, Facebook, Google are unable to find any of the slide images. This is obviously caused by the script using background images for the slides.

I see there is an option for a Facebook icon – but this is really a workaround as normally users can select which image from a page/gallery/slideshow they want to use, and this facebook icon is no use for Pinterest or Search Engines looking for all the images on the page.

Can I please request a fix for this by printing links to the images in the source.

Please let me know if/when this can be added to the next update so I can advise my client. Cheers

intheme

Hey,

it’s a good point. I’ll make an update which will include image tags in Slider and Grid Portfolio so that Facebook and other services can find them.

This should come with a next update in a few days.

Cheers, Vilius
