Hello, can you reply to my earlier question? I need to put up the site for a client in a few days so it’s essential!

Thanks

intheme

Hey,

to move social icons to the right add this to user.css file:

#footer .social-networks {
    float: right;
    margin-left: 20px;
}

The contact form popup when clicking on the menu link is more sophisticated so I’m afraid I can’t give you the exact instruction. Here’s some guidance though:

1. Create form using Contact Form 7. 2. Add the form in the footer. 3. Hide the form in the footer so it’s not visible to your visitors. 4. Add JS which would show the form from the footer inside a popup.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Vilius

Hello thanks, but my question was how to input my own social icons instead of the default ones

intheme

Hey,

you have to know some CSS to do that. Basically you’ll have to add to your user.css file something like this:

.social-networks .icon-facebook:before {
    display: none;
}

.social-networks .icon-facebook {
    width: 24px;
    height: 24px;
    background: url(/wp-content/uploads/facebook-icon.png);
}

This code will change Facebook social icon into an image uploaded at this path /wp-content/uploads/facebook-icon.png – make sure it’s size is 24×24

Hope it helps, Vilius

For some reason it’s not working, I’ve moved the icons to the right and added that css into the user.css file – but it still shows the same social icons

intheme

Hey,

could you provide a link to your website?

Thanks, Vilius

Sure, it’s still a work in progress & some of the photos used are just random to test out the functionality – http://laminatedphotos.co.uk/

intheme

Oh, there’s a mistake in the code. Just replace .icon-facebook with .icon-facebook-circled in the provided code and it should show you the Yahoo icon you’ve uploaded ;-)

Hi, I am pleased with this theme, but there are some requests.

i.lazy load I use big image in portfolio, and I thought that I would introduce lazo load pluigin in order to get a mobile user to peruse comfortably. However, it did not work, as expected(I used “BJ Lazy Load”). I thought that horizontal scrolling which is the feature of this theme had influenced. So, I wish to correspond the advice for making this workable, or the theme corresponds to lazy load.

ii.Menu Coler I want to use ”#ff8c00” as a color theme.?Although a default is #FFF200, in order to do so, it is necessary to change the element of many in CSS. So I want a color theme changer at Appearance > Theme Option.

Almost of this comment is written with translator, so there may be a mistaken expression. sorry…

intheme

Hey,

the translator did a good job :-)

1. I can’t say what is wrong with BJ Layz Load plugin, but I’m implementing this feature in the next releases so if you don’t mind waiting you could have it without using any plugins. Is that ok for you?

2. The color picker is coming as well, meanwhile there’s a documentation section on how to do it – http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#how-to-change-accent-color-108

Hi Vilius, I was wondering if you could tell me what code to add to the custom CSS to hide the social media “counts” (numbers next to the social share button).

intheme

Sure,

add this to your user.css file:

#sharrre-footer .counts {
    display: none;
}

Hi. Great theme. The smoothest I’ve come across in terms of design and compatibility across desktop, tablet and mobile (i.e. on my Apple devices).

I purchased this theme a little while ago but there is one thing that has been bugging me and is keeping me from being able to move forward with the project I’m using it for, for a client – and that is the grid portfolio thumbnails and their fluid aspect ratio that crops the thumbnails (if I’m not mistaken though, it seems that the thumbnails are a fixed ratio on iPad?). I need these to be a fixed ratio so that my thumbnails don’t change aspect and get cropped for different browser/screen sizes.

I have seen a couple other commenters asking about this above and would like to know if there is a fix you know of that will fix these thumbnails or if there is an update coming very soon, like in the next few days or so that fixes this?

Thanks very much Jason Walter

Oh and additionally, the issue with having to upload images every time you add them to a portfolio item… this is a serious issue. Previously uploaded images should really be able to be added to portfolio items.

Thanks

Sorry, my previous comment is incorrect, I was referring to the full page slider template, it only allows newly uploaded images, the portfolio items are fine. Please let me know about this and the fluid grid thumbnails issue.

Thank you again Jason

intheme

Hey Jason,

this is the case with Full Page Slider, I hope it’s not a big issue as there should not be too many images in your slider. I’m planning to change this though and make the backend of Full Page Slider similar to the one used for portfolio projects.

Regarding grid portfolio, right now it tries to nicely fill the whole window. To do so it sets specific height and width of each image depending on the screen size and the rows and columns count. If you are about to fix aspect ratio, then you won’t be able to nicely fill the whole screen. If it’s ok with you then here’s how to do it. Edit js/jquery.fluxus-grid.js file, find a line that says:

this.sizes = {
    itemHeight:   Math.floor( ( parentHeight - ( ( this.gridRows - 1 ) * gutterHeight ) ) / this.gridRows ),
    itemWidth:    Math.floor( ( parentWidth - ( ( this.gridColumns - 1 ) * gutterWidth ) ) / this.gridColumns )
}

And change it to this:

var height = Math.floor( ( parentHeight - ( ( this.gridRows - 1 ) * gutterHeight ) ) / this.gridRows );
this.sizes = {
    itemHeight: height,
    itemWidth: height * 1.5
}

This will fix aspect ratio at 1.5, you can change that number and see what works better depending on your images.

Hope this helps, Cheers, Vilius

How did you assemble this demo page: http://inthe.me/demo/fluxus/blog/? It looks like an Horizontal Portfolio but how did you constrain the images to a max size and included the text under them? Also, can an horizontal portfolio serve a front page directly? (without a referral page).

Thank you.

intheme

Hey,

it’s a blog index page it displays your blog posts, but not your portfolio projects. You can select which page should be your blog index page under Settings > Reading, there’s “Posts page” setting.

And it is possible to make horizontal portfolio page to become your home page. It can be done as well under Settings > Reading

Btw, have you read the documentation of the theme? It covers some of this and much more stuff that might be interesting to you. The latest docs are online http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus

Will do, thank you Vilius. I guess I am looking for a “portfolio index page” structured as a “blog index page” (i.e. with a fixed size image row and text captions). Since I am relatively new to WP I am still trying to understand all the criteria by which you divide your online entries into blogs, portfolios and pages and how these entities are structured visually and functionally within your theme. I really appreciate your help and comments on an already great theme.

intheme

No worries ;-)

Hi, I purchased this theme and am really pleased with it. There is one thing I would like to alter though and I haven’t a clue when it comes to coding. I would like to remove the “like this project” panel from the end of the horizontal portfolio. I would like for there to be nothing there and for the page to end after the last image. I would be very grateful if you could tell me how to achieve this. Thank you for your time. Regards, Kieran

intheme

Hey,

you can hide that section by adding this to your css/user.css file:

.portfolio-navigation {
    display: none;
}

Thank you for your reply to my previous question, it solved my issues and the update has made this much easier to do.

I have some new questions, how do I:

-remove “Project type” info from the sidebar (including the words “project type”)?

-remove the option to view the image at it’s original size when using the lightbox?

-make the blog page display an image used in a blog post as a featured image in the blog page/feed without this image being displayed twice in the blog post?

Thanks for all your help. Regards, Kieran

Could I acomplish this with the theme. In the blog section, the default blog horizontal scroll, I would like to change it to the template of the portfolio horizontal scroll. Is there a way to do it?

Hey,

unfortunately such customization is not easily possible.

I’m about to begin development on a live server (as oppose to my local) so I just wanted to check to see if you had plans to upload an update within the next day or two? If so, I’d wait a day or two to avoid an update during development.

Thank you for your work on this great theme!

intheme

Hey,

sorry for the delayed answer. I hope you didn’t wait and your website is already on live server. The next version is nearly completed and should come later this week. Updating the theme is quite straight forward, so it should be quick even if you are on live server.

Hi, I was thinking to get this theme. But first of all I need to know if there is a way to add music to background? Also, can I have grid portfolio page as home page?

Thank you so much, Dilyara

intheme

Hey Dilyara,

thanks for the interest! Background music not available out of the box, but I’m sure you could find numerous Wordpress plugins that would let you achieve this (eg. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/background-music/).

Regarding portfolio page as a home page, yes it’s completely possible.

Hi,

I am highly interested in purchasing this theme. However before I would do that I would like to know about the possibility to disable right clicks (save as). Is it implemented or planned?

Thank you.

Kind regards Angelo

intheme

Hey Angelo,

it’s not supported out of the box, but you could achieve this by using plugins like this one http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/no-right-click-images-plugin/

Hi Vilius, Our web-site is on line! http://rpdesigngroup.com/ We would like giving a different sequence to our projects preview. In Wordpress while in “portfolio section” it is possible chose a sequence between the works, in the section “project types” we are not able to do it.

Do you know why? Is it possible resolve this important aspect?

Thanks in advance Robert

intheme

Hey again Robert,

that’s a lot of content! Well done!

If I understood you correctly you wish to display projects in one sequence when they are shown on portfolio page (eg. http://rpdesigngroup.com/?page_id=581) and another when they are shown on project type page (eg. http://rpdesigngroup.com/?fluxus-project-type=bagni). If so then I’m afraid it’s not possible. Projects are shown in same sequence throughout the website.

Few other tips: 1. You could enable permalinks to have nicer links http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

2. Use bigger resolution background images, eg. here http://rpdesigngroup.com/?page_id=389

Cheers, Vilius

Hi again, what I would like to do is just decide my favorite order between the works in the “projects types” section. For example here in “Residenze” http://rpdesigngroup.com/?fluxus-project-type=residenziale. Actually the sequence of works position is just only based on the last uploads between the works.

How can we change the placement of the works in project types section?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers, Robert

intheme

Hey,

to change the projects order go to Wordpress admin Portfolio page and click “Quick Edit” next to a project, which order you’d like to change. There is a field called “Order” where you can enter a number. Projects with lower numbers come first. If two projects have the same order value, then the one that was added more recently will come first. By default all projects have a order number of 0. This way you can define global project order which will stay the same on project type pages.

Cheers, Vilius

Hi Vilius,

as you suggest we had a look for changing sequence in our “project type” but infortunately with no results… We have also a second problem: We would change the sequence of our photos into a single project, we drag the sequence of the photos and we try to save. But very often without results.

If possible privately we could provide you the access to our website management. So that you can check what is not working.

Thank you very much

Robert

intheme

Hey,

if you could contact me over TF’s Contact Form here http://themeforest.net/user/intheme and provide me with your login details, I could take a look at the project ordering issue.

Thanks, Vilius

Hi Vilius, If you have a look at our web site http://rpdesigngroup.com/?page_id=581 on the left side there is the Projec types and Tags column wich presents the names of the sections forwarded by the simbol #. We would like to remove this simbol.

Could you try to explain us the operations we have to do for doing that?

Thanks in advance Robert

Hey Robert,

as Cliff mentioned just above try adding this to your user.css file

.hash { display: none; }

Just happened to be on here! to get rid of the (#) hash tag: Put this line of code in your site/wp-content/themes/fluxus/css/user.css

.hash { display: none; } That should do it!

Hello, thx for the theme, is it possible to keep FULL size by vertical on a photo when im uploading to a portfolio grid (its cropping a little bit)

intheme

Unfortunately it’s not possible to completely avoid cropping, otherwise it would require you to introduce padding which will look bad.

Hello, thx for the theme, is it possible to keep FULL size by vertical on a photo when im uploading to a portfolio grid (its cropping a little bit) + when i upload image – script saturate image little bit. How to disable it?

intheme

Hey,

since the grid layout is fluid (the size of the images depends on screen size), there’s no way to fit the images without cropping. You could change the way it crops though. Right now it crops top and bottom parts, if you prefer to crop only the bottom of the image, try adding this to your user.css file:

.grid-project .preview {
    background-position: top center;
}

There should not be any image saturation on upload though. I guess it might have something to do with color profiles on your computer.

Thx for the answer, but i tried and it didnt help see the screen plz www.igorpavloff.eu/screen.jpg even i put site maximum by vertical its cropping anyway

intheme

Hey,

from the screenshot it looks that it did work. The top part of the image is visible and only bottom got cropped. This is what it was supposed to do.

I’ve looked at your website and it looks perfect with very little cropping on my laptop – see this http://cl.ly/image/1v3v253I1t07 – do you mind telling what screen size are you using?
