Hello, I contacted you earlier about the media library not loading, and you had fixed it saying it was missing a JS library. However, after you fixed it, and I tried to load “My Work”, I received the following error: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function”

So then I tried to do a fresh re-install, but it looks like I am back at square one. Can you please advise whether it would be better to try to do a fresh wordpress install (not sure if that would result in losing old content), or take a look at my FTP files to see if there is a deeper underlying issue? Thanks.

Question – I’m using the grid portfolio, and when you first click onto this page and view the thumbnails for the different portfolios, they are pixelated. Is there a way to have these as a better quality image? The images inside the portfolio look great, its just the initial thumbnail that is weird.

Hi intheme,

Nice work on this theme. I would like to purchase this theme but not as a wordpress but as site template. Can you please publish its HTML version as well.

Thanks Rahul

Hi, 1. is there a possibility to make the Menu Fonts smaller? 2. If you go to my page, you’ll see that the feet is been cut out, because of the frame. http://daniellisbona.com/

is there a possibility, that no matter how big is the browser the pic is shown always completely, like on this website:

Hi,

I installed the theme in Wordpress 3.5.1. I created some project types. Then I created a project and tried to add some images to it using the Add Image button. I chose the Upload Files tab and selected a file of 1.45 Mb. I received the following error: DSC_0297.jpg An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

However, if I go to Media Library, I can see the file there. But when I navigate to the Portfolio and edit the project I do not see anywhere that the new file was uploaded in this project. I I visit site and navigate to the project’s page I only see an empty page. Can you please assist me with this issue.

Thank you.

intheme

Hey,

this issue is most likely caused by lack of memory on your server. When you upload an image Wordpress has to resize it to a certain size, the larger the image, the more memory this operation requires. My guess is that when you upload 1.45MB image your server goes out of memory and resize procedure fails, but the original image is still displayed on your website as it was successfully uploaded.

You can test this by uploading a small image (let’s say 50kb around 800×600), if this solves the error then I would suggest to upgrade your hosting plan to a better one.

Let me know if you managed to solve this.

Is there a way for the Facebook like buttom to drop down a status update box when clicked? I’ve seen this in most places. The like is nice, but it could be much more engaging.

Hi – I have applied a featured image to a portfolio item, but the first image in the portfolio itself is used in the grid display, not the featured image.

How can this be fixed?

Thanks

I want to create two new pages and have them display across the top of the page next to “homepage”, “blog” and “portfolio”.

Is this possible?

Also, how do I assign posts to appear on those particular pages?

intheme

Hey,

if you need to add items to the main menu, then you should create your pages and go to Appearance > Menus, from there you can add your pages to any of the three menus Fluxus supports.

Your blog posts can be separated using categories, eg. you create two blog posts and assign one to Articles and the other to News categories (you have to create those categories first). Then again by going to Appearance > Menus you can add those categories to your main menu. Clicking them will show your users posts that belong to that specific category.

Found the solution to my problem with the featured image in the grid portfolio – at the bottom of the documentation.

Hey,

that’s good to hear. Thanks for notifying!

How would I go about changing the name of “Project Types” on the portfolio pages to something different? I managed to changed the name of “other projects” that shows up at the end of portfolio but I can’t figure out where to change the “Project Types”.

intheme

Hey,

you should look for this file: wp-content/themes/fluxus/inc/widgets/widget-project-types.php

Note that you have to connect to your website using FTP client to be able to modify this file as Wordpress editor does not show files that are nested in subfolders.

The better way would be to create a translation for your website and use it to change any used phrase into your desired one. It’s more difficult, but it avoids editing core files, which makes it easier to update the theme in the future. Here’s a documentation section on how to translate your website: http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#how-to-translate-fluxus-theme-115

Hi there, couple of questions.

In a portfolio post I upload one image for the “featured image” and another for the project media. Even though I have two separate images, it seems to be using the “project media” image for the “featured image” when viewed in the portfolio grid page. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?? please advise.

I have four different portfolios set up. When I’m inside one, viewing a project and I click on the “back to portfolio” button, it takes me back to a page with all of the four different categories of my portfolio. Is there a way to only set it so it goes back to the portfolio category I was on?

Thanks for your help.

intheme

Hey,

to set up a featured image for your portfolio project you should look for “Featured” checkbox in the “Project Media”. Simply click “Edit” next to an image, which you would like to make featured and check “Featured”. If you wish to have a featured image that is not displayed in among the project images, then you should uncheck “Published” checkbox. Here’s a screenshot for reference: http://cl.ly/image/1e2j2H37082V

And just above the “Project Media” section there is an option that allows you to specify where should “Back to portfolio” link lead to, you can specify any Project Type as a link. Here’s another screenshot with that http://cl.ly/image/0i1W2X0Y1d2M

+1 on seanmolins request for a more engaging facebook button

+1 on seanmolins & slabcobot’s request for better facebook integration. better social media integration in general would make me go from liking this theme to loving it.

here’s what i did with the theme – http://theoberports.com/ - we LOVE it and we’ve gotten great feedback!

Hey,

I completely agree and the rework of sharing widget is in the plans. The reason why Facebook popup had to be disabled is that there was no way to control it’s position, thus when placed in the bottom left corner it got cut by the bottom of the screen. It’s solvable and I will do that in the future updates.

Thanks for the feedback!

Another quick question. I’m using a full page slider for the home page. When I’m editing the page and go into the slider I’m not able to delete some of the previously uploaded images. There is no delete or remove button when I “show details” for each image. I’m I missing something? Thanks

intheme

Hey,

the full page slicer uses all images that were uploaded to that particular page, so to remove an image you have to delete it. Go to Add Media and select “Uploaded to this page”. This will show you all your images that are used by slider, select an image you wish to remove and click “Delete Permanently”.

Hi Guys, great theme. Wrote you an email but haven’t heard back. Having two specific issues now with the theme on mobile (in my case iPhone). At times the menu appears cut straight in hand while others it works but not perfectly. In addition, when it does work and the menu advances over the logo, the menu becomes transparent, leaving the logo viable underneath the menu. This is not the case in your demo theme. Thanks for the help. Reference kierankesner.com/newsite

Hi, I cannot place a images into the services image boxis. whan I do that I only see gray circles with icon. http://borissemov.com/arsacta/?page_id=125 please help :)
intheme

Hey,

I see you have copied the demo code from the website, eg this one:

[service title="We Think" icon="lamp" image="./think.jpg"]
...
[/service]
This is not the actual code because the part that says
image="./think.jpg"
should lead to an actual image file which will get displayed in the background.

So for example the actual code for that one is:

[service title="We Think" icon="lamp" image="http://cdn2.inthe.me/demo/fluxus/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/think.jpg"]

Notice the full path to the image. So the idea is that you should upload your own image to your server (square images work best, around 500px in size) and then copy their path to the [service] shortcode. This will allow you to have your very unique service icon ;-)

Hope this helps, Cheers!

Hi Vilius,

Again, thanks for this great Theme. I have had loads of compliments on how professional my website looks at http://markvincent.nl

Maybe this is a noob question, but for the love of me I can’t seem to find out why Wordpress and/or this theme is removing all markup in my post under Testamonials.

Paragraphs, [break] and links alike. Either set the editor or in HTML.

Is it a setting somewhere?

intheme

Hey,

congrats on a website! Indeed looks very good!

Regarding your testimonials page. It is a blog index page, that is it displays all your blog posts, thus the content that goes under the image acts like an excerpt. In Wordpress excerpts do not preserve any formatting and are limited to specific amount of characters.

I guess you should create a separate page (not a blog post), add it to your menu and and use it for your testimonials.

Hi guys,

I’ve just purchased this theme, but when I try to upload it to wordpress the upload keeps failing.

Could you please help?

intheme

Hey,

thanks for purchasing. My guess is that you are uploading the wrong file. You should first unzip the file you’ve downloaded, then you should see a ZIP file called fluxus-1.2.3.zip, this is the file you should upload via Wordpress.

Let me know if this solved it.

Dear in theme,

For the following website we have some small layout issues we need to resolve. The website is:

http://puurflow.lefttworight.nl

1. Is it possible to make the social icons smaller in the header? We moved them from footer to header, but now they became larger. How can we do this?

2. We used the footer menu to incorporate some links (> 2010, 2011 etc.). We would like to align them at the left of the page instead of next to footer links – so aligned as the header menu. This is on the position where the Share box was. How can we do that?

3. If you hover over the text in the header menu, the text colors dark yellow. How could we do the same for the footer menu since this does’t work automatically? Is there a CSS to do this?

4. On the page http://puurflow.lefttworight.nl/portfolio/ you only navigate to the project if you click “Bekijk Project” (means View Project) button. How could we make sure you can click on the whole image to navigate to the project?

Thanks for your response. I’ll check the changes 1-3 and execute them.

For the 4th point, click on the image instead of the button, is there something I can do in the stylesheet of the portfolio already before the update? The website user really would like to change this. Thanks in advance.

About point 1. Where do I have to change this? I found

footer .social-networks .icon-social {

But including font size seems not to be working. Any suggestions?

intheme

Hey,

regarding icon sizes, you can change them using following CSS:

.social-networks .icon-social:before {
    font-size: 18px;
}

Hi there, I purchased this theme awhile ago but just had a chance to upload it. The theme installed but I can’t get to ‘theme options’ in my wordpress dashboard. I’m getting this message when I click on it:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_enqueue_media() in /home/content/46/11190346/html/wp-content/themes/fluxus/options-framework/options-framework.php on line 193

To load the theme I uploaded the zip file with the wordpress uploader. Should I be doing it manually instead?

Also, is there documentation with instructions or media size suggestions in the file? I couldn’t find it.

Thanks!

intheme

Hey,

first of all, sorry for the inconvenience. Such error hasn’t happened before, so I guess there is something different with your server. It would be easiest if you could send your login information to vilius@inthe.me. I would take a look and help you fix it.

The documentation is available in the purchased ZIP file and online at http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus

The recommended image size is 1920×1280, but due to horizontal layout the theme is quite flexible with the sizes and most of them look good regardless.
