Hello Vilus.

Tried to upgrade carefully following the instructions yesterday but had to downgrade because had multimple problems with the links. Browser stated that they where redundant and fail to load due to the redirecting. Please advice.

intheme

Hey,

I’m unable to tell what might have went wrong. As far as I know an upgrade to a newer version of Fluxus shouldn’t cause any redirecting issues. Did this happen on your homepage? Could you share a link to your website once again.

Thanks, V

Hello!

So i noticed there’s a vertical blog option now on the live demo. My version seems to be up to date, but i can’t seem to figure out how to execute this. I’m wondering how i switch the blog from horizontal to vertical.

Thanks!

intheme

Hey,

in Wordpress admin go to Pages and select the page that displays your blog posts. Change that page’s template to “Vertical Blog” and that should do the trick ;-)

Thanks! But i don’t see a “Vertical Blog” option. I checked my theme version. It’s Version 1.1.2. Is this up to date? would there be another reason why it’s not an option in the drop-down under “Template”?

Thanks!

I should mention too, that my admin says “All themes are up to date”.

intheme

Hey,

your version is several releases behind, the current version is 1.2.3. The message “All themes are up to date” is a bit misleading since there are no automatic updates, so Wordpress thinks everything’s up to date. Here’s documentation on updating your theme to a newest version: http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#how-to-update-theme-106

hay vilius,

i’ve really been having a great time working with the theme, thanks for all the work.

i have a question about a transparent horizontal band that’s appearing across the homepage on the mobile site only. can you let me know how to hide that?

site is here.

thanks! emily

intheme

Hey,

first of all thanks! It’s very encouraging to hear that! I can see that you’ve hidden the “View” button on your full page slider (using custom CSS):

.slide .style-default .button {
    display: none !important
}

The white stripe is used as a background for your slide contents, but since your button is hidden, then it’s not very usable. I would suggest you to edit that particular slide: on your slider page go to Add Media > Slider and next to your slide click “Edit”, there you have an option “Link to portfolio”, which is set to a project called “Current”. Simply set it to blank, save the slide changes and the white stripe should disappear from mobile sized version of your website.

Cheers, Vilius

Dear intheme,

For one of our websites we uploaded photo’s using the ‘Horizontal portfolio template’. Now with large screens, the photo’s stop way before the footer, implying a large empty space between the photo and the footer.

http://puurflow2.eyard.nl/portfolio/

How could we make sure the page shows the picture on full height on large screens instead of showing a large space, without uploading a file with a height of 1280px? Thanks in advance.

Dear intheme,

I was too quick. Found the checked item in Theme Options > Misc > Upscale images to fit screen height > checked. So for all the other users: that’s what you should do ;-).

intheme

Thanks! Previously it used to upscale by default, but some users didn’t prefer this, so I’ve added it as an option ;-)

On this page. On the left where it says AUTHOR, can that be edited to DESIGNER in the backend? And PROJECT info, rather than having a url below it, be simply text? http://inthe.me/demo/fluxus/portfolio/photography/iceland-by-greta-tu/
intheme

Hey,

yes, you can add as many “Title – Value” pairs, which will get displayed just like “Author – Greta Tu” is at the moment.

another quick question for ya vilius…

within a blog post, i’m trying to figure out how to get that short bit of text to show up like you do here, with the image of the deer.

i cant find a reference to it in the documentation, though i think its an “aside” but can’t figure out how to get it to show up on my blog post.

any help?

Hi again, Love the look of the theme now that I was able to get it loaded right. but—I have a few more issues. When I view the site on an iphone the menu stays open and blocks the photos (not like in the demo) & the photos scroll vertically. Also, the grid portfolio will show up on my phone but not on my computers- (i’ve tried firefox and Safari) and the Homepage slideshow won’t show up on any of them (I clicked ‘publish’ on the photos I added to the homepage) The only thing I’ve customized is the color yellow. – which was copied directly from one of your responses. The site isn’t publicly viewable but I sent you a log in link previously.

Thanks!

@design_agency

use the [aside] shortcode.

[aside] any text within this area will be pushed to the side. [/aside]

Took me a while to figure it out as well—turned out I was looking at an old version of the documentation.

Hi Vilius,

I removed the featured image from my blog posts so that the big image does not show up on the blog entry itself, but whenever I do that it also removes the featured image from the main blog page (with a list of all my entries). I’d like to put some sort of image next to each blog post link to draw the user in – do you know how I might achieve this?

Hey guys, nice theme! I have two questions:

1. How can I change the font-size of the Headline in the Infobox on the Full Page Slider?

2. I set up a googlemap on the contact page but when I open the page it doesn’t work. The error message says that my key is not a valid Google API key.

I hope you can help me.

Greetz from Germany, Max W.

intheme

Hey Max,

you can change Full Page Slider headline by adding following CSS to your css/user.css:

.slide .style-default .slide-title {
    font-size: 30px;
}

Regarding the maps, I guess you’ve entered a wrong Google Maps API. Make sure you enter a correct key and also check that your domain name is allowed as a referrer. Here’s a link to documentation on how to setup Google Maps: http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/#setting-up-google-map-42

Hope this helps, Vilius

Hi Vilius,

We have an important problem. When we edit a single project, the drag and drop tool doesn’t have any effect on the picture order. Fluxus don’t save the logic sequences that we need to show. We upgrade fluxus following the istructions but also with the new features we have the same important problem.

We deliver to your personal account our sign-in credentials so that you can directly having a look.

Thank you very much

Where is the padding on the right side of the sidebar specified?

intheme

Hey,

I suggest you to use a Firefox plugin called Firebug (http://getfirebug.com/). It allows you to select any element on a website and inspect the CSS rules that are being applied. Moreover it allows you to edit them in realtime (the changes won’t be automatically saved though). So you could use Firebug to select the sidebar, see the rules that are being applied, change them and see how they affect your layout, then if you’re happy with the result copy your changes to css/user.css file.

It’s a rough flow, but I’m sure that after reading few tutorials you could get it going very efficiently.

Hey Vilius,

First of all: thanks for this wonderful theme, it’s one of the best on themeforest.

However, is it possible to change the size of the vertical blog’s thumbnail pics? Maybe to a fix 600px width and a free height, so if I want to upload a 1:1 or 5:7 photo, but with a bigger size of width, it won’t cut it or degrade the quality. Where should I look for it, in the JQuery files?

Thanks a lot!

Hi Vilius

A quick pre-sale question about the pictures.

Can you tell me the optimum landscape dimension/size for the pictures on horizontal portfolio & the smaller pictures on portfolio homepage.

Thanks

Didier2222

intheme

Hey,

so here is how it works: landscape images tend to look good despite the aspect ratio, but I think that 16:9 are the best as they are somewhat closest to the common aspect ratio of a browser viewport. Talking about pixels the default size is 1920×1280, that means any bigger image will get downscaled so that both sides of an image do not exceed 1920 and 1280 accordingly.

Hope this helps and looking forward to see you onboard.

Cheers, Vilius

Hello,

Love the theme, excepting one issue right now. I set up the blog following the directions in the documentation, but I’m not getting a sidebar displayed when I view posts or the main blog page. I tried deleting the page, making sure to choose “full width with sidebar” as the page format for the blog / posts page, and going through the process again, but still nothing. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi! I’m looking for the perfect combo of portfolio showcase and ability to sell photos. The plugin “sell media” is great for the selling purpose, but their themes do not have great portfolio options… and yours does!!!! Is there any chance you could look into their plugin and tweak your theme a little to get that perfect combination?

Thanks!!

Hi, I have a question about the presentation of the sliders for mobile devices. Is it possible to image the information (title, subtitle, discription, etc.) to display without the image is clicked before. The presentation about the normal browser is sensational with mouseover, but on mobile devices is not as the yellow of the egg. maybe you can rewrite this so that the information will be displayed immediately and permanently.

I currently have not yet found any contribution to, otherwise I’m very happy with the work, keep it up …

Hi there, bought the theme a week ago now. It’s great, i was instantly sold! Thanks heaps for creating it. I am having problems though, my website is this www.martinedf.com

1. with a project type drop down menu in the title block. I created the category ’#selections” for all my different projects, and changed the name in the Appearance>Menu to suit to Selections and changed the name to Portfolio, this so i have it on the title bar ontop. But i want a drop down menu and not the horizontal slide page like i originally had (which was created as a separate page). So how do i get this drop down menu as per your demo theme (in this link http://inthe.me/documentation/fluxus/)?

2. Also, mobile wise, i want the same thing happening as well, the dropdown menu. But the look of it i want to have it more simplified, ie. loading quicker and more readable compared to the same. I’ve another blog created with the free wordpress and it has a more simple and bigger look to it, in Apprearance> Menu there is a mobile function. I ticked the box for mobile theme, which was standard, so i kinda want the same look at this, BUT with the theme too. So sliding, but then vertical. I’ve played around with the mobile plugin, that messed up things but then suddenly i had the look that i wanted by just uninstalling it. But then a while after, it went back to the desktop look. I guess i need to change something in the style.css which i now know where it is, but i do not know what. Can you please help?

You can check at my other blog that works good on mobile www.martinedf.wordpress.com

3. Last but not least, how do i change my button colour, there is written [button url=”#” style=”yellow”]Button #2[/button] but this is standard, can you guys do an orange colour? to Photoshop orange RGB (=243-134-28)? Or does it only work with the 5 colours as per demo link as above?

Thanks! Hope it makes sense to what i am after. Looking forward to hear from you. Martine
