Loving the theme. Is there an easy way to have the built in twitter feed not show @replies? I poked around but couldn’t figure it out.

Thanks Andy

mikedidthis

Hey Andy!

Thank you! Glad you like the update.

Is there anyway you can message me with a screenshot of the overlap?

I can’t seem to replicate it.

Many Thanks

Mike

Thank you. Leave it with me, I will post a temporary fix shortly, and a updated archive as well.

Many Thanks

Mike

I’m not trying to be annoying but any word on the next update? I’m ready to pull the trigger just really interested in the 2x support. Great great theme btw.

mikedidthis

Hey Skelton!

Not annoying in the slightest! :)

I am currently polishing a new theme, that is fully Retina ready. Once this is out (currently being tested) I will be moving all the new Retina items back to all my old themes, starting with Focus first.

I am hoping an update to Focus before the end of the week. Do you want to email me, so I can let you know when it hits TF?

Awesome, sent you a message. Looking forward to seeing the new stuff!

Awesome theme

quick one. how to change the blog description this did not work {block:Description} <meta name=”description” content=”{MetaDescription}”> {/block:Description}

change the colour of the blog title only (not h1, not the post heading)

can we get a blog description under the name or logo this is a bit messy on mobile view article header .logo-wrapper h1 { color:#00ff00; padding: 0 0 3em 5em; font-size: 1.2em; margin-top: -0.9em; }

Thanks!

mikedidthis

Hey!

You change the description in the ‘Description’ box on the customisation page of tumblr, there is no need to alter the theme.

The blog description then appears in the sidebar, or the footer, depending on the view.

You can see my description under ‘About Focus’ on the demo page.

Many Thanks

Thanks for the info Mike.

there’re a couple of things that i asume other users will want to address.

the titles of the pages underneath the about on the right hand side also appear on the tag drop down menu (filter post by). how can we erase them from this menu

also will love to have underneath each post the share on FB, twitter, etc… at the moment the user needs to find Permalink (which some people dont know what it is) and then see share.

love how your notes.tumblr has TAG CLOUD and mason.tumblr POST SHARE

Thanks!

mikedidthis

Hey!

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it!

I shall make sure the pages only show in the filter menu when the sidebar is not visible.

As for shares, this is something that has been requested before, and something I sadly can’t offer.

Tumblr does not generate a proper, consistant post description for each post type on the index page. Show when sharing the post URL from the index page, the only description I can attached is the blog title.

Personally sharing a URL and the blog title doesn’t make sense. The users seeing the tweet / link etc, will have no idea what there actually like is related to. If that makes sense.

I will however, detail how you can manually move the shares to the index page, but bear in mind, it will be the blog title and the permalink URL .

Again, thank you for getting back to me.

Regards

Mike

Update. Found the solution.

Hey,

Great theme!

Is the default “Follow” Tumblr button available in this theme? Turning the “Promote Tumblr!” button on in the options doesn’t seem to change anything.

Thanks,

AM

mikedidthis

Hey AM33 .

Glad your sorted. You need to disable ‘Hide Tumblr Controls’ to show the follow / tumblr buttons.

Many Thanks

Hey man.

Theme looks great. just on a friends windows machine running in 1024×768 it breaks. you can see here the right menu drops down. higher res its fine. you have any way to fix that easily?

There’s a screenshot here:

mikedidthis

Hey!

Glad you like the theme! I tried to replicate the issue (I am a Windows man) myself, but I can’t seem to. Is it possible you can screen shot the header for me?

The theme doesn’t introduce the side bar till 1030px+ so he is seeing the smaller screen view, as intended.

Let me know, I am planning an update as we speak, so would like to fix this.

Many thanks

Mike

Sure:) here’s the second screenshot with the header..

hope you’re having a great day:)

Thanks Jon,

I am finishing the update to Focus today, so will look into this issue. (Its a pretty big update).

Many thanks

Mike

Also here is a link to a screenshot on my mac looking ok, i guess due to the widescreen res:

I have a thought…it’s almost as if PhotoSet isn’t working correctly.

mikedidthis

So…. 1.7 is out! Includes full retina support. Read the documentation regarding uploading your logos again! :)

Many thanks for your patience!

leftyleon

Hi Mike,

The update is awesome. =D I have one question, is there a Retina template for the background? When I try upload one I created, it doesn’t take it.

Thanks

mikedidthis

Hey Leon,

Glad you like the update. Didn’t even think to include templates for the BG or filter menu bg.

You can create these yourself. The BG is 100px – 100px (200px – 200px Retina) and filter bg is 25px – 25px (50px – 50px Retina).

Let me know how you get on, I will include the templates in the next update.

Many Thanks

Mike

Awesome:) Thanks so much mike, can’t wait for the instagram feed integration, that would be amazing:).

He if you look on that site of mine you’ll see I have a page with my last x last.fm scrobbles in there, but using an iframe for that, had the php written already on my server and was feeling too lazy to rewrite as js, if I do ever get round to it will fit it into the theme and mail that feature back to you if you want to include it.

Bigups.

mikedidthis

Just for you, I will try and squeeze in an last.fm scrobbler! :)

mikedidthis

Hey!

1.7 is out! Sadly I couldn’t add the last.fm scrobbler as it requires an auth code.

Never the less, I hope you enjoy the update!

Many Thanks

Mike

Wow, that would be amazing, thanks man…:)

I’ve actually added it in now:) see http://blog.mixnblend.com/ . I don’t know if you want this functionality in but if you do where can I send you the modified theme file?:)

mikedidthis

Hey Jon!

Wow, that would be great, send it over to me via my profile?

Really sorry I didn’t have chance to add it my self, the update was pretty big, and I just ran out of time.

Many Thanks

Mike

I’ve set up options for the username to pull from and the last.fm api key in the modified theme, once you supply those, and choose to display it then if shows your last x tracks played.

Dropped you a line via the contact form on your profile…just not sure how to attach anything via that form. Could you just drop me a line back and I’ll mail the file through to you. many thanks for such a great theme:)

mikedidthis

Sure thing.

Thanks again Jon, I really appreciate all the communication over the last few weeks :)

Mike,

All I can say is I’m glad you did this :)

Can’t remember the last time I saw a more beautiful minimal layout.

mikedidthis

Hey!

Thank you very much for the kind words! :)

Yo man, did you ever drop me that mail? didn’t get anything, very keen to send you that file as I’m lazy and would love not to have to re edit each update as it comes out:)

Best Jon

mikedidthis

Hey!

Try writing the updates! hehe! Just emailed you back my man!

Thanks again

Hi Mike

I just applied the 1.7 update and I notice my portrait orientation images are now scaled down in the post. I preferred to have them the original size as I’m using it for my photography blog. I’ve disabled scale images as it makes them rather tall in the post.

Can I get it to be as it was in the 1.5 update? Thanks for making such a great theme btw :)

http://marklea.tumblr.com/
mikedidthis

Hey Mark.

Sorry to clarify the images would be 500px wide not high. I have no control or data for image height.

On a photo post, tumblr doesn’t actually supply the original image. It takes the original and creates a set of different width images. 250px / 400px / 500px / 1280px.

With the ‘disable image stretch option’ the idea was to test for the 1280px image, if it wasn’t found, revert to the highest size, and disable the stretching. So either way, there is a bug, as its giving the 250px image, not the 500px.

If you want images to be a true to its original size its advised to use the text post option, and link the image from an external source.

Anyway, I will add the fix into 1.8. Again thanks for getting back to me, I really appreciate it.

Apologies Mike. Yes it’s 500px wide not high for the portrait images. Sorry my bad.

Thx again

mikedidthis

Hey,

No problem, just wanted to clarify. Thanks again, consider it done for 1.8 :)

Hi Mike thanks for the quick reply.

The link above to my tumblr displays what I mean and here is a screengrab… http://marklea.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Picture-3.png

With the 1.5 version my portrait images were displayed at the original size. I’m on a 13 inch Macbook btw.

Thx again

Oops meant to post in the original thread.

Hi! I recently purchased the theme, is there a way to put the reblogging and social share icons on the main page itself rather than on the individual post?

mikedidthis

Hey!

Hmm usually purchases have a Purchased tag when they post a comment?

Anyway. Reblog can be moved to the index page, but sadly not social shares. Tumblr doesn’t generate a post title / preview for all post types, so sadly there is nothing to share, only a URL .

Many Thanks

Mike

Do you have a tweak that would make the post menu always visible, rather than only when the mouse is moved over a post? (referring to the menu to the left of the post with permalink, date, etc.)

mikedidthis

Hey,

Sure. Add the following to your Custom CSS box:

article #posts .details {
visibility: visible;
opacity: 1;
}

That should do the trick.

Many Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

Great theme. Question though- how can I modify the theme so that the details on the left of the post disappear and appear above the post? im also interested in just the date being displayed. I attached a screenshot of what I mean: http://imageshack.us/a/img694/696/exampled.png

If that’s something not possible at all- is there a way of deleting the details to the left of the post and knocking the post to the left edge?

Many thanks, Mat

mikedidthis

Hey Mat!

I ‘think’ this would be possible. Can you send me a message via my profile so I can explain / clarify further.
