I’m getting 404 not found when trying to open theme admin pages.
After installation log out from Magento admin panel, clear the store cache under var/cache directory, and log in again.
How to install sample products?
Sample products are not included in the download file. You can install sample products by following this short tutorial on the official Magento site: sample products
How to create categories in the main menu?
Create the root category (you only need one). Select this root category in System > Manage Stores > [your store] > Root Category and click Save. Add some subcategories with these settings:
- Is Active – Yes
- Include in Navigation Menu – Yes
Next, add some products to subcategories (not to root category). And it’s done.
How to add links to the slideshow on the home page?
To display a link (or any other HTML ) inside the slide, you need to create a static block (for more details about creating static blocks please reffer to the User Guide). Put there any content you want, e.g. an image with link.
After you create a block, go to the slidshow admin page, and in the Displayed Static Blocks field enter that block’s identifier. Now that block will be displayed as a slide.
