Hi team,

I would like to know is this site support bitcoin donation(only send bitcoin and receive bitcoin) and display the pledged amount in the wallet? I know the transaction of Bitcoin doesn’t need to pass via the site, the thing I need is to display the amount of bitcoin received on the project details. Is it possible? Thanks :)

I’m not quite sure what you mean. However there are a few bitcoin extensions for Easy Digital Downloads as you can see at https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extensions?extension_s=bitcoin&action=extension_search

Are you planning on updating font awesome in the theme? Currently when using a CDN with the old “icon-” instead of “fa-” causes issues.

Studio164a

Sorry, we don’t have any plans to update the the Font Awesome bundled in the theme.

Hello eric,

I;m having an issue with the comment section on my website. It shows part of the html code. i’ll copy it below so you can see what I mean. May you instruct me on how to hide it?

comment box Required fields are marked * Your email address will not be published. You may use these HTML tags and attributes: <abbr title=””> <acronym title=””>
<del datetime=""> <em> <i> <q cite=""> <strike> <strong> may you assist on making the code invisible to website visitors? </strong></i></em></del>

This is part of the default theme. If you don’t want to display this, override the comments.php template file and look at the comment_notes_after field of the function call to comment_form().

Hi Eric,

upon reception of a donation an email (purchase receipt) is generated and send to the donor containing a {receipt_link} so users can view their receipt directly on our website if they are unable to view it in the browser correctly. . I understand that this part is configured in EDD. Nevertheless, when Franklin Theme is active (which is our actual default theme) we get the following front-end error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sofa_using_crowdfunding() in /wp-content/themes/franklin/functions.php on line 497

We tested the same {receipt_link} with e.g. Twenty Eleven where it is working OK.

Any hint on how to solve it is highly appreciated. As a temporary workaround, we took the link out of the purchase receipts but would definitely like to have it consistently working.

Thank you!

Studio164a

Could you send me an email with an example link?

Another issue concerns the social links on top of the theme:

We would like to have them open in a new tab/window instead of visitors leaving our site.

The respective code is in the Franklin’s subfolder inc/sofa/sofa-template-tags.php and we edited it OK, meaning: it works if edited in Franklin directly.

However, when copying the code into the child theme it is not processed but the original Franklin file instead.

The child theme code is:

<?php

/** * Display social links in new tab. * * @param $echo Default is true. * @return string|void * @since Sofa (child) 0.1 */ if ( !function_exists(‘sofa_social_links’) ) { function sofa_social_links( $echo = false ) { $sofa = get_sofa_framework(); }

$html = '
    '; }
foreach ( array_keys( array_reverse( $sofa->get_social_sites() ) ) as $site ) {
    if ( strlen( get_theme_mod($site) ) ) {
        $html .= apply_filters( 'sofa_social_link',
            '
  • ', $site ); } }
    $html .= '';
    if ( $echo == false )
        return apply_filters( 'sofa_social_links', $html );
    echo apply_filters( 'sofa_social_links', $html );

    where we just added “target=”_blank” in line 19 of sofa-template-tags.php

    Continued thanks for your assistance!

    Studio164a

    Copying the function should work, but you need to leave out the if ( !function_exists('sofa_social_links') ) { and closing }.

    Hi Eric,

    How do I create the “Author Profile” as shown in your demo site?

    Studio164a

    I take it from your other question that you figured this out :)

    Hi Eric,

    For the profile using [appthemer_crowdfunding_profile], I notice the first “bullet” tag under the Payment History is on the right (instead of left) of the item. Example, it is showing:

    $5.00 pledge to Help Start an Organic Farm in Thailand *

    Studio164a

    Hmm, good point. I’ll put together a fix for that.

    Hey Eric,

    What now after the CF plugin has been removed from the repo?

    Studio164a

    We haven’t quite reached a decision about what we will do yet. We will post an official announcement at http://164a.com/blog/ soon.

    Hey Eric, Please check your email

    Studio164a

    We posted a roadmap for the future at http://164a.com/franklin-roadmap/

    Cheers, Eric

    In this FAQ page (http://themeforest.net/item/franklin-wordpress-crowdfunding-theme/5063650/faqs/20498) you say that it’s possible to take a fee by using PayPal adaptive payments but how is this meant to be used? It doesn’t make sense.

    Studio164a

    You can configure Paypal Adaptive Payments to automatically distribute money to the campaign creator as well as the website owner.

    Please note that Franklin has a roadmap for the future. Before purchasing, please read over that: http://164a.com/franklin-roadmap/

    Hi Eric,

    When creating campaign, I encounter this error “You have submitted the maximum number of campaigns allowed for this year.”

    Is there any setting that caused this?

    Studio164a

    Yes, this is a setting that comes when you have Paypal Adaptive Payments enabled. Go to Campaigns > Settings and open up the Payment Gateways tab. You can set the maximum number of campaigns per user at the bottom of the page.

    I need to add a “renew registration” form to my site for users that already have a login from last year’s event but need to update their info. and pay a registration fee. When someone logs in and clicks submit I’d like for them to be redirected to my “renew registration” page instead of the “Create a campaign” page. How can I do that?

    Thanks!

    Studio164a

    It sounds like Peter’s Redirect Login plugin could be perfect for you:

    hello eric, we are having some issues with our logout and forgot password button. When Logging out. it does not ask you “yes” or ‘no” if you would like to log out. Can we edit this? (we would like a box that asks yes (to log out) and no (if our user mistakenly clicks logout). also how do we add a login landing page? When you register it takes you to the home page, so it doesn’t look as if your registration worked.

    also, once you click the log out out button it simply refreshes the page you are on and does not log you out. The same thing happens on the create a campaign page when it shows “you are logged in as”. when you click log out, it refreshes the page as well. how do we get it to log out, and add a landing page that says something like, “you have successfully logged out”? (we would like a message to appear that says you have successfully logged out and asks and then redirects them to the homepage)

    any suggestions?

    When you click the forgot password button it links you to word press’s login page. How do we fix this and link a request new password page and/or email to the page after a user wants a new password.

    We are now providing support through our website now at http://164a.com/support/

    How can we make the profile page to look like the rest of the site? We would like to change the look from the generic WP profile admin for the clients to a look like the rest of the site beautifully designed.

    Studio164a

    There is a front-end profile page. For an example, see http://themes.164a.com/franklin/author/ericnicolaas/

    1- The system doesn’t send auto email to project creators to let them know we have recived their projects. How can we fix that.

    2- we would like to also send an email to project creators every time a project is funded. and when the project is fully funded.

    Are these possible?

    Studio164a

    Neither of these emails are built into the plugin. The only email that is built in for creators is one that goes our when their campaign is finished.

    If you require these features, I would recommend hiring a develop who can help you create them.

    Cheers, Eric

    Hi, i wonder if there is a quick fix, when i embed a campaign into another website… at the bottom it is crowded where it says auther and campaing end date? i tried making the box bigger in the embed code but still crowded and words on top of each other, any suggestions?

    Studio164a

    You can increase the width by overriding the campaign-widget.php template. Look for the line that says this:

    div class="widget-wrapper" style="width: 275px;">

    You can change the 275px to something larger to increase the width.

    Cheers, Eric
