Hi Eric,

Instead of showing “0 of 5 remaining”, I would like to show “Out of Stock”. Is it possible?

Studio164a

This can be done, but you’ll need to override it in your child theme. This text is defined in the franklin_atcf_campaign_contribute_options() function inside inc/crowdfunding/template.php.

Please see http://themeforest.net/item/franklin-wordpress-crowdfunding-theme/5063650/faqs/17398 for information about how to override functions with the child theme.

Eric, today I’m officially testing my install. I have implemented the wepay plugin and realized that the pledge amount remains at zero even after a successful credit card process. Can you help me figure this out.

Studio164a

Hi Rich,

This sounds like a WePay issue, not a theme-specific issue. Could you get in touch with the WePay extension developers to see if they can point you in the right direction?

Hi, love your theme/

I would like to translate the ‘start new campaign’ page in to Dutch. How should I proceed. I translated the most part of the theme using Loco Translate, but come not across the campaign page.

Best regard, Coert

Studio164a

Hi Coert,

Most of the text elements on that page are coming from the Crowdfunding plugin, so you need to be sure to translate that plugin.

Any plan to add a widget for campaign categories? Or a widget to list campaigns?

Studio164a

You can use the Download Categories widget for the campaign categories. There is no built-in widget to display campaigns, though there are I’m sure there are plugins out there that allow you to display recent “posts” for other post types (campaigns are just another post type in the Wordpress application).

Hi, I use the updated version, but in settings page don’t appear campaign types multicheck, only donation checkbox. What’s the solution? Txs.

Studio164a

By default, donation is the only option available, unless you have a pre-approval gateway extension installed. See http://themeforest.net/item/franklin-wordpress-crowdfunding-theme/5063650/faqs/20498 for links to the extensions you could use.

Hi, I want to translate to spanish the buttom “Submit campaign” that appear at the bottom when you are creating a new campaign. I´m using WPML but only give me the option to translate the Campaign word and not the all sentence, there is and other way to translate the “Submit” word?

Studio164a

Some of the phrases come from the Crowdfunding plugin; please be sure to translate that plugin with WPML too.

Cheers, Eric

Default-user

That is what I’m doing. With the WPML I searched all the phrases in all context whith “submit” and translated but It doesn´t change what I need, actually, It looks like in this case are too separate words because I did the same with the “Campaign” word and it change, thats why my final result is “Submit Campaña”

Another question, it is posible to add to the footer of the template to words with links to other pages in the theme? my idea is to put at the bottom of all pages links to terms and conditions.

thnaks very much for your help!!

Studio164a

Could you send me a link to your website so I can take a look at where you’re seeing the “Submit” phrase?

The footer has two widget-ready areas which you can use to drag widgets to. You could use a menu widget to provide links to other pages in your theme.

Cheers, Eric

Default-user

yes, the URL is http://vossumas.com/crear-campana/ but you has to be loged in, for test you can use user: generico / pass: generico. This is the page where you load the campaign data and the problem is at the bottom.

Studio164a

This is from the Appthemer Crowdfunding plugin. Please double-check that you have translated all of the phrases in that plugin.

I would like to know where do I have to translate “days left” in the home page http://awesomescreenshot.com/08e37z0e7a I’m using WPML to translate the plugin

And the other thing: Do I have to buy any payment plugin if I just intend to pay with paypal and wire transfer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Studio164a

This is likely due to the way the theme uses cache. See http://themeforest.net/item/franklin-wordpress-crowdfunding-theme/5063650/faqs/21180 for details on how to clear the cache.

Paypal is installed by default. There is no wire transfer extension as far as I’m aware, though you should look at the Easy Digital Downloads site for a solution that may work: https://easydigitaldownloads.com/

With the Franklin theme each crowd funding project has the person posting the project setting a calendar end date and a financial goal.

If the financial goal of the project is reached prior to the end date the project funds.

Some popular projects may be able to well exceed their financial funding goal before the end date.

Is it possible within the theme for the person who posts a project to have an option to decide to keep running the project if reaches the financial goal before the completion end date?

Studio164a

If the financial goal is reached, the project continues to run; it doesn’t stop once it has reached its goal, only once the end date has been reached.

I have installed the recommended Layer Slider on my AeroBackers site that I am developing.

I now notice that none of the slide images show up when I view the home page on an ipad or iphone.

What do you recommend to allow the website to be viewed properly with the Layer Slider installed?

Studio164a

Could you send me a link to your site so that I can take a look?

Cheers, Eric

moollaahh

It is www.AeroBackers.com … I can now see the issue, but not the solution. The slider home page is actually at www.aerobackers.com/home/ ... but the home page of the site is www.aerobackers.com and that does not have the slider. So this issue is on all browsers not just mobile devices. The real problem is how do I get the www.aerobackers.com/home/ to resolve when someone types www.aerobackers.com into a browser?

Studio164a

I have no idea what is going on there, but it’s definitely not a theme issue; most likely a server or website configuration error. I would check what you have set for the home URL and site URL.

It seems impossible to remove these ugly “Leave a Comment” fields from many pages of the theme including the registration page: http://www.aerobackers.com/free-registration/

I have removed this code from the single.php file of the theme: ”<?php comments_template(); ?>”

But the “Leave a Comment” still remains on all the pages.

I have completely deactivated all comments in my Admin as well.

Can someone please tell me how to address this issue .. thank you.

Problem solved! I was not seeing the Discussion meta box in my control panel on page edit. So did this … 1) click the “Screen Options” dropdown at the top right of my screen and 2) make sure “Discussion” is checked. I was then able to deselect the discussion from the page.

When a user logs out of the site a page says “404 Sorry you have hit a dead end.” How can we fix this as it would be better if the home page loaded instead of this error message.

Studio164a

This is not happening for me on our theme demo. However, it could happen if you’re on a private page, since logging out returns the person to the page they were on — which would return a 404 if it’s private and the user is not logged in.

Cheers, Eric

moollaahh

Thank you Erik. Now I cannot find which page caused this error. If I can find it to be a repeatable issue from a specific page we can then narrow down the cause.

The user registration process is pretty bad with the packaged Franklin theme. It is actually non existent.

The way it works out of the box is that all users create an account and have immediate access to the site. There is no verification process so very quickly most WP sites will be filled with hundreds of spam/bot sign ups.

Does anyone have a recommendation on which plugins will work best with the Franklin theme to achieve the following:

1) allow for admin to approve or reject any sign up 2) custom worded email notifications of the sign up process, thus a custom worded email that user’s account is being reviewed / has been confirmed. 3) When a new user hits the confirmation button on his application there should be some sort of welcome message on the web page. Right now there is nothing.

So the whole sign up process needs to be professionally implemented and from what I can see, this aspect is completely missing from the Franklin theme.

Studio164a

I’m sorry you feel this way. To be clear, however, the registration process is mostly the same as Wordpress’ built-in registration process. The theme doesn’t really do anything special over the top of this other than allow users to register via the modal.

If you are looking to do custom things with your Wordpress registration process, I strongly recommend hiring a developer who understands Wordpress.

Cheers, Eric

Hi Eric, I have added some icons with the campaign categories on my home page. I am interested in making the words and icons links to the actual category page. How do I do this? Also, I used a master slider plug in, and can’t get it to center with the theme. Any suggestions?

Studio164a

Sorry, I cannot really help you with either of these customisations since our support is limited to the theme’s out of the box features.

Hi Eric, I seem to face some problems with the front-end editing:

1/ The campaign end date from the front-end form is not saved properly, every campaign which I input via the front-end, is listed as ‘finished’. If a campaign date is then changed via the back-end, the new ‘days left’ is shown correct in the detailed campaign page BUT in the campaign list it shows the old date which basically means that the ‘Campaign is finished’.

2/ If a campaign is entered through the front end form and a user checks the preview, it is opened in the same window. Therefore it is hard to go back and edit the campaign. Is there a way to put an ‘edit’ or ‘save’ button below the campaign preview?

3/ If a campaign is entered through the front end form and a user did not complete all forms correctly, an error message is shown but ALL form fields are cleared, making the user loose all the information he/she put in.

4/ Rewards for backers are not saved if entered through the front-end form.

Thanks for your feed-back, Stefan

Studio164a

Hi Stefan,

Regarding point 1, could you try running through the steps outlined in this post to see if it resolves the issue? http://themeforest.net/item/franklin-wordpress-crowdfunding-theme/5063650/faqs/21180

There should be an edit link at the top of the page after previewing a campaign created on the frontend.

I will keep your comment regarding the submission losing data in mind, though I’m not sure whether this should be resolved in the theme level or at the plugin level. It’s probably really something that belongs in the plugin (you may want to mention it at https://github.com/virtuousgiant/crowdfunding, which is the repository for the plugin).

I haven’t noticed any issues with rewards not saving. Could you send me a link to your website?

Hi, Thanks for good theme Here is my question.

1. I want to create button next to ( LOGIN / REGISTER ) button 2. I want new PG system instead of Easy Digital Downloads ( ex) WooCommerce) because Easy Digital Downloads is not sufficient for use in South Korea.

How can i fix these problem? Thanks!

Studio164a

Neither of these things are supported out of the box. I suggest hiring a developer who can help you make these changes.

When a new user joins the website and their account is created they have access to the admin side of my site.

Clearly new users should only have access to the public side of the website, and not to the admin.

So I logged into the admin of my site and checked the core capabilities assigned to “Campaign Contributor” and noticed that the following are enabled:

delete posts delete published posts edit others pages edit posts edit publish pages edit published posts publish posts read upload files

Can you please advise what setting changes need to be made to allow Campaign Contributors who sign up to join the site to have proper functionality to crowd funding projects on the site but not have access to the admin.

Many thanks.

Studio164a

What you described are the default permissions assigned to campaign contributors by the Crowdfunding plugin.

You can use this plugin to remove dashboard access from users: https://wordpress.org/plugins/remove-dashboard-access-for-non-admins/

When a user posts a crowd funding project on the site, there is no way the admin will know it is there waiting to be approved.

1) Is there any easy way the admin can be advised when a pending project has been posted to the system and needs to be approved?

2) If not, is there a way to make all projects live right from the start, instead of pending?

Studio164a

Take a look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-status-notifier-lite/.

There is no way currently for projects to be automatically approved as far as I am aware.

Hi Eric,

May I know if it is possible to remove the [Posted on DATE by AUTHOR] box on pages? I feel it is find for the blog but would like to remove it for pages.

Also since I last updated, I can’t open my campaigns anymore and do not understand what might be the issue: gessfund.sg If you have any idea, it would be highly appreciated :)

Thanks, Emilie

Studio164a

The “posted on…” bit is from the page meta. Take a look at content-page.php and see where the meta is added. You can override this in your child theme.

The error with your campaigns can probably be fixed with the suggestion at http://themeforest.net/item/franklin-wordpress-crowdfunding-theme/5063650/faqs/20592
