Just to let you know that I used this template as my basis for my Newsletter, had been using Hi 5 for Mailchimp but was not satisfied with the output. I used this in my normal HTML editor and then zipped the graphics and file together and just imported into mail chimp and sent. So easy, glad you mentioned how above though as it was not obvious though and I read your details for uploading and it was as easy as 1 2 3. I also put a copy on my website for anyone who has a problem at www.cscs.com.au/Newsletter/newsletter.html

I really like your clean design… I have one question… I don’t use any of the mail systems you mentioned. I have a domain and hosting from icdsoft.com and with that I have my mailing list. I want to send out newsletters to my mailing list and was wondering if I’ll have any problems. Do I load everything onto my server and paste the html code like I do my signature (i have my logo in my signature that is located on my server)?

Thanks for your interest in Fresh Newsletter, I never used that newsletter editor you use, but since you can paste HTML there so sure you can use Fresh Newsletter and paste it’s HTML code like you do with your signature.
And yes you will have to upload the images folder to your server and make sure that images locations in the HTML refers to the images you uploaded to your server.

it is clear how to use the “Visit our website” and “Click here to view the hosted version” Version. But what is the magic behind the “Forward to a friend” link? Forwarding has to be done with the email client, and I don’t know a method to initiate this from a link inside the mail. Is there a method I don’t know or some other magic I could not see at the moment?

Forward to a friend exists in most of newsletter managing services such as Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc .., you can’t use that link unless you are sending the newsletter from professional newsletter/email management service.
If you want to see how forward to a friend is handled check out the customization example at the end of description and you will see it in action.

I am having problems uploading this template to MailChimp to edit. I zip up the files (1 html file plus 1 folder with ALL images) and it comes up with the following error:
“The archive was empty or otherwise corrupt”
I wondered if you have any resolutions to this?

Thanks for purchasing Fresh newsletter, try to use different compressing program to zip the files (like WinAce ) and make sure you are compressing the files in recognizable format to Mailchimp (which is likely .zip)

is it still easy to include this template with Mailchimp or do I need to have good html/css/whatever knowledge? I just want to ask it, cuz ur other template ‘Double Wink’ does have an extra mail chimp version in contrast to this ‘Fresh Newsletter’ template…

It’s very easy to make Fresh Newsletter editable in Mailchimp’s visual editor, feel free to contact me and I will provide you with the steps, but you will have to insert Mailchimp own formulas like “unsubscribe” or “forward to a friend” which could be inserted via Mailchimp’s visual editor without any needed code knowledge. Double Wink multi-usage version comes with all needed formulas so it just make editing the newsletter faster and easier.

I’m new to theme forest and I’ve downloaded this template because it looks awesome! (Great job).
Are these templates mainly for people with HTML editing knowledge? I thought I would be able to easily upload the files to MailChimp or IContact and edit them inside the back end. I saw the reply about how to upload the templates to mail chimp and I’ve followed the instructions, but it appears that the only way to edit is in HTML code. Is this the case? Any help is appreciated. Your newsletter template is beautiful, though!

I never used ProDada, if it allows importing HTML files/code then you can use Fresh Newsletter, if you are not sure then it’s better to contact their support.

Sending options include and “HTML Version” or “Plain Text Version” They are just large boxes to type in or copy/paste.
Or I have an option to send a webpage by either “Grab content from this webpage address (URL)” or “Use the following HTML as content” (also a text field) with an option to either have images “have their URLs changed to absolute” or “be embedded in the message itself”

Hi Gifky, great newsletter theme. How easy is it to follow the documentation for someone that does not work with HTML files that often. Is it straight forward or is there going to be a learning curve to put a newsletter together.

It’s easy to add/remove content blocks to create the look you wish following the help documentation, for editing the text and pictures you can use programs like Mozilla Thunderbird or any email or HTML editing software to edit the content which doesn’t need any HTML knowledge.

You mean the newsletter header looks like that in the Outlook 2010 in the email editor (while you create the email) right? if so then no problem just send yourself the email and you won’t see any gaps in the received version

To use Fresh Newsletter in Aweber you have to:
1- choose which layout you want to use and upload its “images” folder to your hosting server/website
2- change images URLs in the layout to Absolute URLs [as described in the documentation under sending via Thunderbird] which is simply open the layout you want to use in Notepad (or any text editor) and (Ctrl + F) search for the term images and replace each of the results with the URL of the images folder you uploaded to your hosting server/website and then save the layout and copy all of html text (Ctrl + S then Ctrl + A then Ctrl + C).
For example if you uploaded the images folder to http:// websitenamedotcom/newsletter/images then you have to replace “images” with “http:// websitenamedotcom/newsletter/images” [remember no / slash after images]
3- go to Aweber, Messages, Follow Up, Add New Follow Up Message, at the bottom border of the HTML message editor click on Source, paste the HTML code ( Ctrl + V), switch back to the design by clicking the first tab before source, that’s all! edit the content then send.
