I was looking at the HTML version of this just yesterday, and remember thinking why this isnt out for Wordpress yet. I guess this release is a TAADAAAA :)

Will be sure to purchase soon. I really like the style of this theme. So simple and elegant

Great timing!

Hope this theme works out for you.

Thanks,

In your demo, you show the complete check out process. However, all the buttons error out in the demo. Is there a way that I can see this demo in full.

Also, I like everything, excluding the stripes on the side for the headers. Is the easiest way to replace these by slipping in a transparent png. I assume they are just one image file??

I like the layout, and is something I have been looking for. Just need to know about these few issues.

And I assume there is no portfolio option for this layout as well?

two2twelve

Links in the demo have been fixed—sorry about that!

The striped headers are simply shortcodes for use in Wordpress pages. So these can easily be replaced with a standard header tag (h2 or h3) instead of using that shortcode.

There isn’t a pre-styled portfolio section.

Thanks!

Maybe I didn’t communicate properly in the first post. But this is the section of code I was talking about.

div#page .section_title { background:url(”../images/themes/green-blue/section_title.gif”) no-repeat scroll center top transparent; }

They look like section titles. Or page titles? Are they just H1 headers? Is this Shortcode? I’m a tad confused. Sorry.

Also, on the sign up process, can we edit the CC section to put our own type of billing? (i.e. – invoice by email).

two2twelve

Yes, the code you’ve mentioned (.section_title) is generated be using a shortcode in pages. For instance, the shortcode:

[section_title]My Header Text[/section_title]

When used in a page, will generate a striped title bar. So, you may easily choose to use plain text or header tags rather then using the shortcode above (that generates striped title bars).

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks,
- Eric

Is there any way tio change the menu into dropdown?

two2twelve

You can add a dropdown system to the menu, however, it will take a few steps including a little CSS / Javascript:

1. Add sub-menu items in the “Menus” section of your Wordpress admin panel.
2. Style the < ul > tags for the subnav’s generated by Wordpress (they have a class of sub-menu).
3. Add some Javascript to show/hide the dropdown.

I’ll try an put together an example soon and hopefully include it in a future update for this theme.

Thanks!

I am trying to integrate the salesforce form through the plugin and the css is throwing things off.

Here is the salesforce form css : How do I change it to match the theme css.

form.w2llead { text-align: left; clear: both; } .w2llabel, .w2linput { display: block; width: 120px; float: left; } .w2llabel.error { color: #f00; } .w2llabel { clear: left; margin: 4px 0; } .w2linput.text { width: 200px; height: 18px; margin: 4px 0; } .w2linput.textarea { clear: both; width: 320px; height: 75px; margin: 10px 0; } .w2linput.submit { float: none; margin: 10px 0 0 0; clear: both; width: 150px; } #salesforce { margin: 3px 0 0 0; color: #aaa; } #salesforce a { color: #999; }

Hi there, I’ve just purchased your theme and have tried to implement in on my site (www.allwhiteteethwhitening.co.uk) but I can’t for the life of me seem to get it working?

On the homepage, it keeps on saying ‘Page not found’ regardless of what I try (I’m fairly competent with wordpress themes having set up several before too).

Would you be able to help me get started?

Thank you,

James.

two2twelve

Hi James,

Firstly, what version of Wordpress are you running? And are you attempting to install FreshServe on a pre-existing Wordpress blog or newly installed one?

If it’s a pre-existing install, try disabling your plugins and re-activating the theme.

If it’s a new Wordpress install, ensure your site is working with the default Wordpress theme before activating FreshServe.

Thanks!

Hi, nice theme, I got two questions: 1.- Are there any alternate homepage style/layouts? 2.- How easily can the “wrapped titles” be edited (the ribbons that seem to appear from behind the page)? This is the only thing that bugs me and I’d like to know how easy is to modify the, or how to completely eliminate them and use the text without that background?

thx!

two2twelve

Hello,

1. Currently there is only one Homepage style, however, the bottom portion of the Homepage (directly under the screenshots area) is completely customizable and supports any of the 22 shortcodes that are included with the theme.

2. The wrapped titles seen throughout the theme are generated by using a shortcode. This shortcode can be easily and seamlessly replaced with plain text or any general header tags (h1, h2, etc…).

Thanks!

I suppose I should have asked this before I purchased, but I need to have the layout of the homepage to be used on other pages (with the ribbons, screenshots, etc).

Basically I need the homepage layout to be a template I can reuse for other pages.

How can I go about doing this?

Hi,

I cannot get the thumbnail screenshots to work on the frontpage (displays a red cross in place of the thumbnails). However, when I click on the rd cross, the magnified screenshots works correctly in the pop up box.

Could you please help?

two2twelve

Try is navigating to the folder:

[Wordpress Install]/wp-content/themes/freshserve/scripts/

and ensuring there are 2 folders called “cache” and “temp”. If not, go ahead and create them and give them the permission of 777.

Hi

can you explain a couple of things:

1. Homepage layout is doing a grid structure. Can you explain how this is working? I’d like to add content that does not end up on columns. Normally themes have column shortcodes to control this, but suspect that you have hardcoded from

s

2. Are you planning an update that completes your CSS ? List items look hideous!!!

thanks Andy

two2twelve

Hi Andy,

1. The columns on the homepage are in fact generated by shortcodes. You set the HTML for the homepage in the FreshServe Admin Panel > “Homepage” tab > under “Homepage Content”. By default it’s populated with the grid-based feature list, however, this can be edited or completely removed.

2. Yes! I have a rather large update in the works that will contain dozens of fixes / updates and a few new features (including more HTML styles). It will be released within the next week or two.

Thanks!

Default-user

Great – look forward to the update.

We can throw you back some CSS and shortcode updates if you like? We’ve added more flexible frames for images to take images of any size. Let us know.

We really really like the design, but our wish list would be:

  • homepage feature to allow option to take more traditional ‘slider’ content
  • remove admin console linking of blog page, so that a page can just take the blog template with the option to choose the categories you want to display (ie. aloow multiple blog pages)
  • a couple of variants of blog (for SaaS apps it’s nice to use WP posts to not only talk about news, but also to use blog as an FAQ , so an FAQ template driven from posts would be v. cool)
  • right aligned section title breaks (so you can alternate the section ribbons on a feature list for example)
  • a left hand sidebar template
  • some nicer styling on sidebar widgets (particularly custom menu widget)
  • some jquery shortcodes?
  • some ‘ribbon’ shortcodes, to add things like ‘coming soon’, ‘new feature’ etc like your price icon on the home page, but for other types of assets

Can think of loads more, but there you go!

cheers Andy

Hi there

Seem to have an error on the blog page:

Warning: Missing argument 1 for query_posts(), called in /homepages/44/d349089113/htdocs/wordpress/wp-content/themes/freshserve/template-blog.php on line 10 and defined in /homepages/44/d349089113/htdocs/wordpress/wp-includes/query.php on line 59

Any one else seen this one before?

Cheers Andy

Hi Andy,

I am aware of this bug and have fixed it in an future update I will be submitting shortly.

However, a quick fix would be to disable debug mode in your Wordpress installation. You can do this by opening your wp-config.php file and adding / editing the following line:

define('WP_DEBUG', false);

Thanks!

Default-user

Thanks for the reply

We do run wordpress with debug set to false, so wondered what the nature of the issue is so we can have a dig?

Hi Guy’s,

We are also experiencing this blog issue – has any one had any further ideas about a fix?

We are also in debug; false in the config file.

Thanks!

two2twelve

This issue has been dealt with in an upcoming update that will be submitted this week. But as mentioned by @andy_hollywood, a quick fix is to change the query_posts line of the template_blog.php file to

query_posts('');

Again, a legitimate solution is on it’s way!

Hi Cotty

I just got to looking at formatting my blog page, and about all I can say is ‘hrmm….’

There needs to be quite a bit of work done on the template to make this blog work properly as the blog loop doesn’t seem to respect the query_posts($query_string); wordpress structure.

To get rid of the error you can replace the offending line in template_blog.php (line 10): query_posts(); with:

query_posts(x);

Complete hack, but will force the error to go away.

I’ll be waiting for an update soon!!!

Any idea when a new version will be up?

Currently struggling with blogs.

Of particular importance to me is the ability to set the sidebar on a post. Currently the setting won’t stick and you are forced to use the default sidebar

two2twelve

Just fixed this issue :-)

Update is coming this week!

Thanks

Hi there,

bought the theme yesterday but have some problems with it. It seems that JavaScript/jQuery doesn’t run well.

I have added several plugins after installed a new WP and this theme. This plugins I want to use:

Audio Player: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/audio-player/

Social Slider: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/social-slider-2/

Phpurchase: http://www.phpurchase.com/

Audio Player and Social Slider don’t show up on the Theme after activation. Also Phpurchase has serious JavaScript problems. If I use the default theme (WP 3.02 – Twenty Ten 1.1) all three plugins work very fine. So it must have to do with this theme.

I also get the Blog error which andy_hollywood has reported and I also can’t use the sidebars on the detailed blog entries.

Will the new update fix this issues? Why do the plugins not work with this theme? I need those really! Would be great to get some help here!

Regards, Robert

Any chance of updating the pricing shortcode to support a featured column? As it stands now, the columns are numbingly uniform, but when hoping to push a specific package, it would be nice to be able to highlight a column. Any workarounds that would enable this kind of styling?

two2twelve

I’ve implemented a “Popular” tag into the next update that you can assign to any plan in the table.

Working on an easy way to highlight / emphasize the entire column while keeping it all in shortcode. Proving to be a bit tricky, but definitely something that will be included in a future update.

Thanks!

Robert

To get many of my plugins to work I had to add the following to the footer.php right before the last tag:

<?php /* Always have wp_footer() just before the closing </bod?>
     * tag of your theme, or you will break many plugins, which
     * generally use this hook to reference JavaScript files.
     */

    wp_footer();
?>

This let’s plugins that use the wp_footer() hook to inject their javascript into the page and then work. Pretty common on jquery/javascript plugins

Hope that helps Andy

Very nice template. I use it with an ease.

Just one question: Is there any way how can I display FreshServe Twitter widget on frontpage?

@andy_hollywood:

Thanks for this tip! After including the code Social Slider works. Unfortunately Audio Slider and Phpurchase not. So there must be some other problem tow.

The developer wrote that he will take care about the issues. So let’s wait until the update. Do we get a notification if the purchased theme gets updated?

It’s my second theme i bought here. With the first one I hand’t any problems.
