thanks Bill

I have seen ArtiomEnkov’s similar error, but did not see a response on the support page. I just got the same one. I paid for the app on ThemeForest, and need this question answered quickly, please. “Call to undefined function edd_currency_filter() in /home/content/74/11139174/html/wp-content/themes/fundify/functions.php on line 129”

Can I use WePay?

Cheers-

Astoundify

You can, but it will currently just act like a normal payment gateway without any pre-approval support.

We have developed another plugin for WePay that will split funds and do pre-approval support but we are currently in the middle of releasing a new theme so things are on the back burner for that at the moment.

Cheers to you too!

Thanks Mate,

Could you give me a realistic release date.. This is really important to me as we go live on Monday and I don’t want to use paypal

Astoundify

I’m not sure I wouldn’t want to give you a date and then we don’t meet that deadline, you can see we have integrated WePay into our plugin here: https://github.com/Astoundify/crowdfunding/tree/develop/includes/gateways But we are still working on the integration.

Sorry we just have a million projects going on so its hard to give an estimate / realistic date.

Great theme!

I’m sorry if this is an obvious or repeat question, but I haven’t been able to find a definite answer on my own.

The features list says:

“Split Payments Between Site Admin & Campaign Author (Using PayPal Adaptive Payments)”

Does this mean that an unlimited number of public users can submit campaigns, and somewhere enter their PayPal info and receive payment from their individual campaigns?

I know it seems clear that this is what you mean, but I just want to confirm. (I’ve heard you can only have six receivers thru Adaptive Payments?)

Thanks very much. Great work!

Astoundify

Yes, you can split funds between the site admin and the campaign authors, you can have an unlimited amount of campaign authors that funds can be split with and there are no limitations on that, as each campaign is only split between two paypal accounts.

I am waiting for wepay also I was informed last week that it will be completed this week. is that changed? I want to launch site with wepay and waiting…Please let me know what to expect.

Astoundify

We just submitted our latest theme so we are done that, now we are back to working on WePay with Crowdfunding.

Follow us here on Twitter for theme updates & on GitHub for our plugin updates :)

Default-user

This is great news! Is the existing wepay plugin version usable(beta version) to at least launch site tomorrow?

Default-user

where is the latest theme? or waiting for approval? could you please show a snapshot?

Astoundify

Theres a preview of the theme on our Facebook page. Its currently in review.

I would wait for the WePay oAuth 2.0 plugin to be released before using WePay.

Default-user

Is there a timeline for when wepay oauth 2.0 plugin? Will donations expedite the process fo completion? I have users waiting, because I initially launched with stripe and realize that its better to reduce financial liabilities by going with wepay.

Astoundify

There is not a timeline but if you want to donate to our plugin go ahead as this might help ;)

Pre-Sales Questions…

I plan to use this theme and my website as a central funding campaign and have users sign up to participate. The idea is to have users from different locations register and get donations made to them. Categories will be i.e. 4 different States.

Individuals in each state can sign up to participate and help raise funds for their state (which they will choose when registering under ‘Category’).

1) Does the theme permit accepting payments as they are made? (Not wait for the goal to be met or campaign to end)

1a) I want to disable PayPal for individual users and have all payments directed to my PayPal (or bank gateway). Can I do this? Funds will then be distributed manually to the 4 different states maintaining recognition for the users in each state whom raised the monies.

1b) Does the backend provide reports detailing the amounts pledge to each user and totals?

1c) Can a csv report be obtained from the backend to collect info on pledges made?

2) Can the admin set and lock the different pledge amounts for all users? (i.e. I want all users from to have 4 pledge amounts that are set by admin and unchangeable?)

3) Can admin disable ‘Backer Rewards’?

4) Can admin set the Ending date and lock it in? I do not wish to have users choose ending date. (i.e. campaign will run until December 31, 2013) Once complete admin will reset date for future years.)

5) Can I limit a user to only creating one campaign? This can then be rest by admin be reset for the next year so they may participate again if they wish.

6) Is it possible to add custom fields in the campaign signup. I would like to remove ‘Location’ since that will be chosen in the ‘Category’ and replace with something else and posisbly add a few more fields.

7) Is it possible to pre-populate the ‘Description’ info depending on the ‘Category’ chosen?

8) Is it possible to have a minimum ‘Goal’ set (i.e. $500) that can be increased by the user?

9) Can admin remove the limits for ‘Pledges’ in the varying amounts… I want to keep it unlimited. Again, for all users.

Thank you!

Astoundify

Hello, i’ve replied to your questions below.

Answer:

1) Does the theme permit accepting payments as they are made? (Not wait for the goal to be met or campaign to end)

Answer: Yes, you can decide between payments taken instantly or pre-approved then taken once the campaign reaches its goal, either way its up to you what you want to do.

1a) I want to disable PayPal for individual users and have all payments directed to my PayPal (or bank gateway). Can I do this? Funds will then be distributed manually to the 4 different states maintaining recognition for the users in each state whom raised the monies.

Answer: Yes, you can use a bank gateway and then distributed manually, you do not need to use PayPal if you do not wish to.

1b) Does the backend provide reports detailing the amounts pledge to each user and totals?

Answer: Yes, it does.

1c) Can a csv report be obtained from the backend to collect info on pledges made?

Answer: Yes it can.

2) Can the admin set and lock the different pledge amounts for all users? (i.e. I want all users from to have 4 pledge amounts that are set by admin and unchangeable?)

Answer: Yes you can do this.

3) Can admin disable ‘Backer Rewards’?

Answer: This is not currently possible but something we are adding: https://github.com/Astoundify/crowdfunding/issues/167

4) Can admin set the Ending date and lock it in? I do not wish to have users choose ending date. (i.e. campaign will run until December 31, 2013) Once complete admin will reset date for future years.)

Answer: Yes admin can change the campaign date at any time and has full control over the campaign.

5) Can I limit a user to only creating one campaign? This can then be rest by admin be reset for the next year so they may participate again if they wish.

Answer: You can do this using the PayPal gateway, there are settings for this see: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1657501/Screenshots/helsgia9r39g.png

6) Is it possible to add custom fields in the campaign signup. I would like to remove ‘Location’ since that will be chosen in the ‘Category’ and replace with something else and posisbly add a few more fields.

Answer: You would need to customize the code of the plugin to add custom fields in the campaign signup. It is possible to do.

7) Is it possible to pre-populate the ‘Description’ info depending on the ‘Category’ chosen?

Answer: You would need to customize the code of the plugin to allow for this feature. It is possible to do.

8) Is it possible to have a minimum ‘Goal’ set (i.e. $500) that can be increased by the user?

Answer: You would need to customize the code of the plugin to allow for this feature. It is possible to do.

9) Can admin remove the limits for ‘Pledges’ in the varying amounts… I want to keep it unlimited. Again, for all users.

Answer: You would need to customize the code of the plugin to allow for this feature. It is possible to do.

We hope these answers help in your buying decision and we hope you buy our Crowdfunding theme and plugin :)

Hi, Number of questions.

1) Just to be clear, users can come to the site and set up their own campaigns, and as the admin I just have to approve or disapprove them correct?

2) They have to put in their paypal email, if they want to get paid correct?

3) I want to set the campaign length to 30 days only, is that possible?

4) I want to set the minimum and maximum target amount the campaign creator can use myself, is that possible? Is there a global lower and upper limit?

5) I want things to be so that no payments are made until the campaign is fully funded (after 30 days), and then the money comes out of the backers paypal accounts and goes to the campaign starters paypal account, and I get a cut in between, how is that setup?

Thanks for your help.

Astoundify

Hello, i’ve replied to your questions below.

Question: Just to be clear, users can come to the site and set up their own campaigns, and as the admin I just have to approve or disapprove them correct?

Answer: Yes that is correct. you can have an unlimited amount of campaign authors on your site and each time a campaign is submitted the campaign is set to PENDING in the WordPress backend so that the admin can review it before publishing.

Question: They have to put in their paypal email, if they want to get paid correct?

Answer:Yes, when using paypal adaptive payments the campaign author must enter their paypal address and once the campaign is paid out the funds will be split with the site admin and the campaign author.

Question: I want to set the campaign length to 30 days only, is that possible?

Answer:Yes, you can set it in the WordPress settings area under Campaigns > Settings.

Question: I want to set the minimum and maximum target amount the campaign creator can use myself, is that possible? Is there a global lower and upper limit?

Answer:Yes, you can set it in the WordPress settings area under Campaigns > Settings.

Question: I want things to be so that no payments are made until the campaign is fully funded (after 30 days), and then the money comes out of the backers paypal accounts and goes to the campaign starters paypal account, and I get a cut in between, how is that setup?

Answer:You can do this, you would just not collect the funds until 30 days after and then you would collect the funds on the 30th day and the funds would be split between the site admin and campaign author automatically.

We hope these answers help in your buying decision and we hope you buy our Crowdfunding theme and plugin :)

Default-user

Thanks for your really quick reply. I’ve spent the last week researching how to set up a crowdfunding, completely avoid themeforest because I thought this kind of option for WP was not available yet (other than ID).

Regarding the final point, when you say I would not collect the funds until the 30th day, you mean once the project is fully funded? I’m still a bit confused as to how the payments happen. What happens when the backer makes a payment/pledge is the money instantly taken from their paypal and put into my account? or is it just pre-approved/authorised, but not actually taken? until the 30th day?

Also on the easy digital downloads Paypal adaptive payments plug in page, it says it can just split the money to 6 people? but what if the campaign has 100s of backers?

Astoundify

It pre-approves/authorizes instantly when a pledge is made and once the campaign reaches its goal the funds can be then collected at any point in the future up to 1 year.

Backers aren’t the same as “split with 6 people” the funds are only split with the campaign author and the site admin, there can be unlimited backers.

Default-user

Once the project is funded after the 30 days, the money from the backers doesn’t automatically go from their account via mine to the campaign creators then? I have to move it across manually? wouldn’t the be a bit of a problem for 1000s of backers pledges?

Astoundify

This is how it works.

Once the campaign has been fully funded the campaign funds can be collected, at this point there has been a pre-approval billing made to each backers PayPal account/Credit Card but no funds have been taken.

The site admin then collects the funds from the backers, the plugin/theme sends an API call over to PayPal that asks to collect the funds from all the pre-approval billings that have been made.

When the funds are collected the funds are automatically split between the site admin and the campaign author and deposited into there respective paypal accounts.

The site admin does not have to manually split the funds as the payment gateway does all the hard work.

Hope that make sense.

Default-user

Yeah that helps thanks, and I presume the API call knows to collect the funds only from the project that’s just finished and not from all possible projects where the funds could be collected from?

Is there anything I need to do in my own paypal account to make all of this possible? do I have activate adaptive payments or something?

Default-user

If you choose flexible funding, does that mean you don’t have to do refunds?

Astoundify

I’m not sure what you mean. Sorry.

Default-user

Are refunds given? if the backer wants to take their pledge back? how would you give a refund? or is that not possible?

Default-user

But how would that work for flexible payments? is it up to the admin whether refunds are possible with flexible payments? and if they are, is that handled in the fundify admin or manually by myself in paypal?

Astoundify

Refunds are issued from within the admin PayPal account then funds can be collected from the campaign owners paypal account if there are refunds issued.

For more details regarding issuing refunds I would recommend contacting PayPal as they can give you detailed instructions.

Thanks!

Default-user

You say on here that I need this plug in https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extensions/paypal-adaptive-payments/?ref=7

But on this page https://easydigitaldownloads.com/docs/paypal-adaptive-payments-setup/ It says you need a verified paypal business account.

However on this paypal page https://developer.paypal.com/webapps/developer/docs/classic/products/adaptive-payments/

It says you can have either a premier account or a business account.

So can I use your theme and that plug in with a premier paypal account, or does it have to be a business account?

Astoundify

If PayPal say you can use a premier PayPal account then the Easy Digital Downloads website is incorrect.

Cool thanks, looks like i’ll be making a purchase then :), I appreciate the quick answers.

Hello, I just recently purchased the theme and I just have a few questions about it.

1. I looked at the document html that came with the theme and number 17 Fixed and Fixible funding Options there is no option for me to Require Pre-Approval, and Additional Flexible Fee. I’m at Campaigns > Settings > Payment Gateways.

2. Collecting Campaigns Funds. When the campaign is finished does the Campaign Funds automatically show?

3. Is there an option for all-or-nothing? If the campaign doesn’t meet its goal they don’t get the money.

Thank you so much! So far so good.

Something I’m confused about is, if I just want to do flexible payments, and have the money taken straight away from the backers account, do I still need to buy the PayPal Adaptive Payments (paid plugin) paid plug in?

Although obviously I still want to take a cut of the transaction, so even though the money is coming out straight maybe I still need the paid plug in?

Astoundify

You can pay instantly with PayPal Adaptive Payments.

1: Backer backs the campaign.

2: Money is taken instantly.

3: Money is split with the site admin and campaign owner.

You must use PayPal Adaptive Payments if you wish to split funds with the campaign owner and the site admin. You cannot use the standard PayPal plugin included if you wish to auto split funds.

I was about to buy this theme but then I noticed that the campaign starting form doesn’t has the option of attaching images in between the text…+ Is their any other way i can add other payment gateways by getting into the code + If you can solve it I will buy it ?

Astoundify

If you require registration, then users can add media just like a standard WordPress post. The user must be logged in though.

We actually just improved on our media handling quite a bit, and will be included in the next release of the plugin: https://github.com/Astoundify/crowdfunding/issues/154

Users will have a standard “Add Media” button and will only have access to images they have uploaded: http://cl.ly/image/2N3A14391g1t

Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi I am thinking about buying your theme, but would really appreciate if I could see how much it can be custumized and get a feeling for the limits of the back end functionality. Thank you. Another question, please: I am a beginner with building websites, so excuse if this question does not make many sense:

1. The web platform that I will be running using Fundify is likely to attract a lot of small campaigns (lets say, several thousands in 2 years). I got advised that in that case I should build a website based on a database to keep all the data sefe and in a good overview. Am I right that WordPress is built on a relational database? Will this be easy to admin? 2. Also, as I cannot access the backend. Can you please let me know if it is possible to modify the layout of the front page and the campaign pages (i.e. including or excluding text fields, reorganizing the layout of fields on the page) Many thanks for your help
