Discussion on Gala, a Tasty Mac-inspired Agency WordPress Theme

Hello,

I’ve just updated the site to Wordpress 4.0, and it seems it has broken the slide show on the homepage. I tried with a fresh install on another site to see if I hadn’t made a mistake in my theme child, but the “bug” is there on a fresh install. The arrows (right and left) in the homepage top banner do not act as link to the next slide anymore. Could you look into it please? Thank you!

Hi there, can you provide a link so I can take a closer look to see if there are any errors? Thanks

I fixed the portfolio and footer BUT the arrows on slider dont work.

I believe you’re seeing those Twitter’s javascript errors because the access keys weren’t set. The Content Tabs widget integrates with Twitter. So you’ll need to disable that part or set the access keys.

I have set the access key on Content Tab and works fine. I have this message on recent twitter widget (I used the same key as Content Tab).

Also the arrows on slider on home page doesnt work – and because I use various height images the autoplay looks afwul so I need to fix these arrows :(

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if there’s a way to customize the size of the portfolio thumbnails? My client is using this theme as a Photography Portfolio site and she doesn’t like how her portrait-sized images are getting cropped in the thumbnails. The theme doesn’t seem to use the WordPress thumbnail settings.

I came up with a solution to this problem. Here’s how I did it if anyone else is looking to modify the theme in such a way:

First, I created a child theme so I’m not editing the theme files directly. Then, I created a child of template-portfolio.php I changed <?php dt_image(222, 152); ?> (line 73) to <?php the_post_thumbnail( ‘thumbnail’ ); ?>. In the Media settings, I made sure the max width of the thumbnails was set to 225px.

There is a WordPress plugin called Regenerate Thumbnails if you want to change the thumbnail size and reapply it to all your images.

I have a requirement for a specific display of portfolio. I need to build a page that acts like a filter, showing items from a specific Portfolio Group but there are reasons for this not to be a simple filter – those being: a: specific header to be displayed and b: specific styling to be applied to that page. Any idea on how best to approach this?

Unfortunately these changes are considered customizations and outside the scope of our support.

Although we do not provide theme customizations ourselves, I’m sure you can find someone inexpensive at http://studio.envato.com/explore/wordpress-customization to tweak the theme for you.

Just asking for a pointer as to how to implement a simple filter, something I’m sure you know and could easily point a customer in the right direction. But hey I guess you have your rules, I will consider this a lesson learnt.

Sorry, what you are asking for is not something that I could easily show you how to do.

If you are looking to simply display specific sub groups take a look at the FAQ… http://designerthemes.ticksy.com/faq/1921
