Awesome theme. Just noticed viewing it on iPad that add to cart button blue colour is very very light and so as the quantity up/down arrows. Just a head up :)

theAlThemist

Hello 2schaa,

all this could be individually customized in the theme options panel, so you can choose whatever color you want

theAlThemist

Also, there is a CSS rule which makes them fade until a product is hovered. That gives more accent on the currently hovered product.

2schaa

Awesome, can deal of the day module you used in category page be used on home page as banner instead of the sliders?

theAlThemist

It’s a standard module which means it can be used on any layout in Header, Content Top or Content Bottom positions. However, it is a slideshow module and can’t be used as banners, but you can have countdowns on any product with special price and date assigned.

I have a question: is it multi-vendors compatible?

theAlThemist

Multivendor functionality depends on external plugins so everything should be OK and that shouldn’t be a problem.

Default-user

do you know any external plugin that would work good with the theme? i really like the theme but i need this option;

theAlThemist

I never used multivendor plugin, but any plugin should work with the theme.

Looks GREAT- but does this theme allow for product grid and/or list layout ?

theAlThemist

Hello thinks, no the theme only use grid view, which is less space consuming and things looks more organized.

Default-user

Ha! That’s a very subjective viewpoint!! I prefer a few lines of info about my products- either list OR grid… my choice :) Pity, as this is a top-notch theme otherwise :)

theAlThemist

That’s really a matter of viewpoint. However, adding a short description excerpt is easy as piece of cake. ;)

Default-user

Aaaaah- then that makes your theme the best OpenCart one I’ve ever seen! If I buy it now, would you please give us the snippet and where to insert it? I’ll have my piece of cake with a good cup of coffee :)

theAlThemist

Sure. As soon as you purchase the theme, send me an e-mail using the form in my profile page (lower-right corner) and I’ll give you instructions on how to add a short description.

If I buy this theme can you help me migrating my theme & database to Galka?

theAlThemist

Yes, I can. However, I don’t think any integration would be required, unless you have some extensions modifying the system core files and controllers.

2schaa

Thanks, are you able to use my existing database with customers/orders & do a new virgin OC install to put your theme on it. In case if my current shoppica theme & current extensions/modules make problems?

theAlThemist

Yes, I can, but I am not sure how much it would cost as I don’t know your current site condition. My hourly rate is 30 USD/hour. Send me an e-mail if you’re interested when you purchase the theme.

Hi! In your demo the auto-suggest search has a problem, at least that’s what I see. The words appear behind of the other elements is that normal? Can that be changed?

Thank you in advance!

theAlThemist

It looks like I made a mistake. Will fix it immediately. Thanks for your feedback. :)

Question about the count down module: is it possible to use this on the homepage while showing multiple products. Like 4 or 5 rows with 4 or 5 columns? Thanks!

theAlThemist

Hello Aramjo,

I am not really sure exactly what are you asking, so I’ll explain all about the countdowns.

Countdowns could be used for every product related module or layout. Modules: Latest, Featured, Bestseller, Specials, Deal of the day. Layouts: Home, Category, Product, Related products, Specials, Search, Manufacturer info.

For every page you can have unlimited number of countdowns – example: On home page you can have all five product related modules, each displaying 20-30 products and every product can have a countdown. The only conditions are: Countdowns enabled in theme control module AND Start date/End date must be assigned for the special price of the product.

Also in every module or layout you can have specials with countdowns for those with dates assigned for the special price, AND specials without countdowns for those without dates.

WHERE can we set/change the number of columns please? I’m going crazy looking for it but can’t see the setting anywhere…! Otherwise, fantastic design with great control panel.

theAlThemist

Hello thinks,

it’s a basic opencart feature – right or/and left columns would appear if there are modules assigned to them. :)

I’ll send you the code for the short description a bit later when I go to the office.

Mail sent. :)

Dear Koev,

I want to use the theme as a responsive theme so that users on mobile phones can place orders too. However I have identified a couple of points that are annoying on mobile phones and especially on the samsung galaxy S2. 1. the zoom feature is not stationary when moving my finger over the photo. In contrast, the zoom facility on ONLY 3 other themes are much better suited for a mobile phone (1. Rgen, 2, Sellegance, 3. Fortuna – I have tested dozens and only these 3 work) 2. Categories scroll sideways when first loaded and I have to double click on the screen to fit it to the screen. 3. When I click to go to page 2 of mens category, it takes me to the bottom of the next page. and when I click page 1 it takes me to the middle of the first page. 4. The AJAX filter cannot be moved on the mobile phone – you can only click on the slide bar for the pointer to move to a new location. 5. The shopping cart icon can be improved for mobile devices if you make it disappear by either placing a separate “X” in the corner, or even better, by making it close when the user clicks on the icon a second time. 6. when placing the focus on the search text box, the screen enlarges. This is probably because the default resolution is a bit larger than the phone’s and when it receives focus it reverts back to the default (because when I double click on the screen it makes it fit to the width of the screen). 7. Is it possible to adjust the trasparency of the “add to cart” and “plus minus” icons to make them opague all the time? 8. “Deals of the day” e.g. on the women’s category, seem to be floating on a transparent background. Can this be changed so it looks more in-line with the rest of the page? 9. the footer area looks very messy width wise. Very irregular. 10. can you place an option to not scroll up, when an item is added, and also for the message that pops up, to disappear by itself in a couple of seconds (just enough time for someone to read it)? 11. finally, is it possible to make the categories to show up on the page, instead of poping up a system menu which I find ugly on the phone as it takes too much space?

Otherwise, this is on its way to perfection and I am ready to purchase. I like the look features and functionality. Let me know if these are possible as I am very interested in buying as soon as possible!

Thanks and well done. AJ

theAlThemist

Hello AJ,

1. The zoom feature is now touch friendly – thank you for your feedback – I missed that.
2. I can’t replicate this and don’t really understand what are you talking about. More explanation?.
3. It doesn’t TAKE you to the bottom – it is already there since it’s loaded with AJAX and it’s not a new page loaded – just the container content changed.
4. Unfortunately I don’t have control on the jQuery UI plugin.
5. It’s an original Opencart JS controlling the cart on click and it’s not safe to change it as few AJAX calls depend on the click event so I don’t have plans to change it..
6. I can’t see this. Tried with SG2, SG3, iPhone and HTCOne – no such think like page zoom on focusing search field.
7. Yes, it’s just one line that must be deleted from CSS if you don’t like it.
8. I like it this way. It’s just one line that must be added to the CSS if you don’t like it.
9. That’s a matter of viewpoint. I wouldn’t agree, but I wouldn’t argue too. I like it this way.
10. Autohide and not scroling to top could be easily added, BUT on per-user basis. I wouldn’t change it for the theme as it’s a built in OpenCart onSuccess AJAX call and other functions depends on it too (same like the cart click)
11. No, I don’t have such plans as the menu is using a VERY complex structure and showing it like accordion for example wouldn’t be possible. It would also take too much space. In two words – I don’t have plans to change it, since it’s a standard mobile approach and users are used to it.

12. – Thank you for your feedback and nice words on the general look and feel of the theme. :)

Hi! Just a few questions please :) Is it possible to add a revolution slider or are you planing on adding it on a future update? And is it possible that the shopping cart goes along with the top bar? Also, I have a lot of categories and they wont fit on the top bar, so is it possible to make just one custom menu named “categories” and put all of them in there?

I love this theme! Really good work :) Thank you!

theAlThemist

Hello rockyalife,

I am working on a layered slider, but it won’t be Revolution slider. Should be ready till the end of the day.

There is no enough place for the shopping cart in the menu bar. There are people with a lot of first level categories and that would be convenient to every one.

Yes, you can create category called Categories and all other categories to be sub-categories of the “Categories” so you can have just one main menu.

If it’s not good enough for you it could be customized to your needs but that would be quite a lot of work and I am not sure the price for the modification would worth it.

Default-user

I’m not sure I can explain myself but it’s just that I don’t want to lose the categories links in google. It isn’t possible to just add the links of each category in a custom menu as it is shown in your example and hide the rest of the categories in the top bar?

Thank you again for your quick support

theAlThemist

Yes, it is possible, but that would be a huge amount of manual work. Also the brands and specials menu items (if enabled of course) would go BEFORE the categories menu

Default-user

The work is not a problem the theme is really beautiful so I’m willing to have some work but I’m not sure if it’s going to look good after the brands and specials. But it’s okay I’ll think about it then (: Thank you very much for your help and congratulations for your theme and hard work :)

theAlThemist

Thank you for your kind words. The brands and specials could be moved AFTER the custom menu positions but that would be a modification for you. I can’t do it for the theme in general as most users doesn’t have your specific needs. It’s an easy fix, so if you decide to buy the theme, just let me know and I’ll do it for you for free.

Default-user

That’s great! Thank you very much for you help!

Default-user

I’m sorry again for all the questions but after I buy I’ll install and customize the theme on localhost first. When I transfer the files will the customizations be safe? Thanks again

theAlThemist

Yes. Just be sure you transfer the customized and not original files from download.

Hello AJ,

1. The zoom feature is now touch friendly – thank you for your feedback – I missed that.
2. I can’t replicate this and don’t really understand what are you talking about. More explanation?.

[AJ] – when I choose for example category “women”, the page loads and it is not exactly “fit-to-width” of the screen (portrait mode on Samsung GS2). I can scroll horizontally (side-to-side) by a small but noticeable amount. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/854/b92.png/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/13/0fv4.png/ To rectify this sideways scrolling, I can touble-tab on the screen and the browser fits the page to the screen so that it will not scroll anymore left-to right.

6. I can’t see this. Tried with SG2, SG3, iPhone and HTCOne – no such think like page zoom on focusing search field.

[AJ] – as I explained above, when I try to rectify the situation by touble-tapping on the screen, the browser fits-to-screen. However, if I now try to tap into the search box, the screen comes out of the fit-2-screen and enlarges. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/838/4hn.png/ This makes it scroll from side-2-side again. I have to double-tap the screen for it to go back to no-sideways-scrolling!

3. It doesn’t TAKE you to the bottom – it is already there since it’s loaded with AJAX and it’s not a new page loaded – just the container content changed. [AJ] – I get it. Makes sense. Still annoying, but being a developer myself I can understand the limitations. :)

4. Unfortunately I don’t have control on the jQuery UI plugin.

5. It’s an original Opencart JS controlling the cart on click and it’s not safe to change it as few AJAX calls depend on the click event so I don’t have plans to change it..
[AJ] – It may be a good idea – Sellegance has it on theirs and it is a miracle how much frustration this can save for a mobile phone user. Please consider adding a couple of lines to your code as follows:

for closing the cart drop down In stylesheet.css find the section below and add the snipped in the midlle.

header #cart .empty {

padding-top: 50px; text-align: center; } >>>>>>>> #header #cart .checkout .close { float: right; padding-top: 4px; padding-right: 4px; cursor: pointer; font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration:none; } >>>>>>>> #header #search { position: absolute; top: 15px; right: 0px; width: 298px; z-index: 15; }

In cart.tpl find the section below (around line 12) and add the snipped in the middle >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> X <?php echo $text_cart; ?> <?php echo $text_checkout; ?> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

[AJ] – I sent you a few print screens of what I am looking at. If you have a SGS2, maybe we have different OS versions. Mine is 4.1.2 and I am using the standard browser that was on the device. All pages have the problem…

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/713/nw2.png/http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/854/t6cx.png/

10. Autohide and not scroling to top could be easily added, BUT on per-user basis. I wouldn’t change it for the theme as it’s a built in OpenCart onSuccess AJAX call and other functions depends on it too (same like the cart click)

[AJ] – No worries.

11. No, I don’t have such plans as the menu is using a VERY complex structure and showing it like accordion for example wouldn’t be possible. It would also take too much space. In two words – I don’t have plans to change it, since it’s a standard mobile approach and users are used to it.
[AJ] – I can live with it as long as the important things get fixed. At the moment unfortunately it does not work properly on the SGS2. :( Additionally, I noticed a lot of flickering of the screen when scrolling up and down. This is something I have not noticed with other themes. I think it may be coming from the deals of the day but not certain. Here are a couple of screenshots that managed to capture the flickering. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/198/q3qh.png/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/109/oauy.png/

12. – Thank you for your feedback and nice words on the general look and feel of the theme. :)

[AJ] Thanks and I hope you will be able to replicate the problems on your phones also. I am sure you will get huge sales from this. You are onto a winner!

theAlThemist

Flickering was caused by the supersized background slideshow. The script is no more executed on screens smaller than 800 px – e.g. – no more flickering.

The zooming – I still can’t replicate this. The page load with viewport initial scale=1 and everything looks fine on every device I fount. of course of you double tap some where on the screen it would zoom to the tapped element, which is the default behavior for all touch devices. You can avoid it with adding maximum-scale=1 but that would limit the users, so I don’t have plans to add it.

Still can’t replicate the width problem in footer – no matter zoomed or not. No such thing on my end.

Cart – The Selegance developer did what you he think is good. I don’t have such plans. You could easily do it for yourself if you wish OR just purchase Selegance if it suits you better. :)

theAlThemist

P.S.: Both changes (touch friendly cloud zoom and supersized on biger screens only) would be available later today when I finish my layer slider manager and add it to the theme.

Default-user

I do not like sellegance because it has similar problems. When I go to any page, his width shrinks and after a second or two it widens to fit the screen. I like everything else about it even though it lacks tons of features which you have. I just wish I did not have these problems with yours and I would get it no questions asked. I will get a couple of friends to test it for me and let you know. The only other thing to do is make a video for you if I get some time. In the meantime, what version of android are you running on your SGS2? Are you using the default browser? Thx

theAlThemist

Yes, I am using my girfriends stock SG2 and my own SG3 + a friend’s HTCOne
