Gallant WordPress Theme

My clients site was also hacked! something about TimThumb.

if i choose the nivo slider in the gallant options, i can see only 5 slides. how i can make for see for example 10 slides in the home page sliders with nivo mode? Please help me.

Hello, Can I buy only HTML version of this theme? On themeforest is only wordpress.

This is not a very good theme nor a very good theme creator. He replied to one of my emails, then blew me off when I had basic questions about how to successfully implement the theme.

It is wrought with compatibility issues out the ass (only compatible with wordpress 3.0/3.1) and good luck getting anything custom to work with this. 90% of plugins are not compatible.

Unless you want to build a site that looks EXACTLY like the demo on WP 3 .0 or 3.1, then you SHOULD NOT BUY THIS THEME .

I will gladly take this back if Alex decides to actually be responsible for his theme and reply to my emailed questions. For now, i cannot endorse this theme and Envato has refused to refund me.

As previously mentioned, the hacking problem has nothing to do with the Gallant theme – it’s the timthumb.php file. I am using this theme without any problem with several plug-ins and think it’s brilliant.

One of the plug-ins I have installed is the Timthumb Scanner which will scan your theme files and let you know if the Timthumb file is vulnerable. If it is it will update it to the latest secure version with just a single click. It also lets you know if your Wordpress installation has been hacked (which hopefully won’t be the case).

Just go to Pugins/Add New and search for “Timthumb Scanner”.

I think its common knowledge that the timthumb script was to blame.

What is inexcusable was WebinCode’s lack of response to questions.

Reading through these comments he has ignored so many others and not just mine.

Thankfully most of the authors on here are professional though.

you have to remember that we are mostly at the mercy of authors and there is nothing worse than feeling helpless.

but i do love the theme and it would be a shame not to make the most of it, so thanks for giving us a mention.

i have no reloaded the site with the updated version of the theme connected to the old database.

i uploaded the uploads folder and all images are now in place.

only thing is my links aren’t working so i guess i need to upload an old file from my back up to connect the links?

and of course i will be grateful for your assistance with this.

I am having problems getting the Home Page LOF Slider to function in IE9 . I notice that the LOF Slider on your demo site is not working in IE9 either.

Is there a solution for this problem (other than using IE’s compatibility mode of course)

I am having issues with a slider where you have Tab for the Picture and Video. That is not working any more. May be because of the update version of the wordpress. Should i re download the theme and use it??

Hi! I purchased your theme (Love it!) and I have two important questions:

1) I keep trying to put an apostrophe ’ in the text, but every time I do it turns into this: \’ *I have a client, titled Bell’s, so I need to input the apostrophe and I can’t. You can see the site here, http://www.bellsappliances.com/home

2) I am concerned with the TimThumb.php file after learning about the issue with hacking. Could you please send me just the updated PHP file, and I will update it on the FTP Server? I have already inputted my client’s information into the site, so I don’t want to take it down and reload the theme.

I really love this theme. It was bookmarked on my favorites and when I come back to it several months after, I always find it classy as the 1st time I saw it.

I have just one pre-sale question: is it possible to tweak it to use a Parralax slider like this one for example: http://kreaturamedia.com/layerslider/ or do you see something that would make it absolutely impossible ?
